Super cool aesthetic in this old fashioned building. The service was as excellent as the food, I highly recommend the feast so you can have a good sample of everything they have on offer! I was impressed with the quality of the beer selection if not the quantity, I had an excellent local sour I hadn't heard of. All in all great for a family dinner!

Awesome experience, a must try. Great atmosphere, and a ton of food!! Naturally you must try the Feast, not cheap, but fun to do. Only took a star off because my cocktail was pretty average, and the food is not amazing, just good, definitely not bad. But because there was so much of it, and so much variations, it was surprisingly not top of mind lol.

The Locals call this place "The Barn" I went to this German style Restaurant for a supper the night before my daughters wedding. The building is 350 yrs old and was disassembled and moved and assembled in Kimberly in 1989 from Germany. This is truly a hidden secret and is near the Ski Hill. One of the best food experience I have had. prices are good and you will need to have a big hunger as you get a lot of food.

Favourite place to eat. If you go for the first time spend the money and get “The Feast” it’s a lot of food but you get to taste everything. Service is always so good and the 300 year old building couldn’t be a better setting. MUST GO!

Visited this beautiful restaurant with family during Christmas, and I was not disappointed. With the authentic, and historical reconstruction of a building from Germany, several hundred years old, we felt like we were sitting in the heart of Bavaria. The food was amazing from start to finish; our family of eight shared "The Feast" and it certainly lived up to expectations. The portions and price were fantastic. The staff are friendly and inviting, while delivering excellent service. I would recommend "The Old Bauernhaus" to anyone who has the chance to visit Kimberley, B.C. "The Bavarian City of the Rockies"

My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday,last weekend; we order ONE feast plate as the menu said “minimum 2 people” (we wanted to share the ONE plate) and 2lobster bisques, we were advised to have only one soup because it will be lots of food. Indeed there was a lot of food and it was delicious! At the end we were charged for 2 feast plates, $$$$$ we didn’t have the courage to claim for the error but my advice is: DOUBLE CHECK before you get trapped in the misinformation. Again the food is very good and the service as well.

I went with family members and the atmosphere was great. We had "the feast " for dinner and it was superb, we were all stuffed! Didn't even have room for dessert. You have to book in advance so we booked a dinner for next week as well. The service was attentive and friendly...My compliments to the chef the food was exceptional!

Fantastic service! We were kindly accommodated despite not having reservations on a busy Friday evening! The Feast is highly recommended due the variety, quantity and quality!!! The complementary breads are even amazing, especially the sourdough rye which had crispy, yet chewy crust and soft flavorsome inside. Everything was delicious!!!! I'm not a fan of schnitzel. But omg was the old bauernhaus the best! The service was excellent and our server made sure to check with us about our sons numerous anaphylactic allergies (Peanuts, eggs, milk, lentils, peas, chickpeas). They even made a special meal for him which he loved and ate the majority of (he's very selective due to his allergies so this was shocking) We were here for a rehearsal dinner and we got the feast. You MUST get the feast of you come here. It was by far the most delicious food I've eaten in a long, long time! It exceeded my expectations 100% and keep in mind that my expectations were quite low given that I don't really enjoy schnitzel. Every course was delicious, even the salads!! We really appreciated their attention to our sons allergy as we literally cannot take him to eat at any restaurants what so ever! So thank you so much! The restaurant was packed yet service and quality did not suffer. Food was so delicious that I couldn't even stop to take photos of each dish. I will come here every time we visit Kimberley. I honestly didn't even know it was there as it's pretty hidden! Yum! Just go and eat here!

My friend (and MC Hammer) said it best.. “Too legit to quit”. Hands down the best place to eat in Kimberley. The front of the house staff was awesome, friendly and quick. If you can’t decide on what to order get the Bavarian Feast (2 or more people). It comes with a large sample of their menu and is a fantastic value. For desert, get anything with their homemade ice cream. You can tell it was made with real cream and the flavours are to die for. I would recommend making reservations if you are in town and parking at the front is a little small but you can park on the street.

We were 8 hungry golfers looking for great food and drink. We certainly came to the right spot. Quaint with interesting and historic decor. The schnitzel and trimmings were spectacular, the best I’ve ever had. The wine list featured many B.C. wines of note at prices that, while not cheap, were fairly reasonable. Our server, Ann was very pleasant, wonderfully enthusiastic and frequently demonstrated the most infectious laugh, all while providing us with professional service and recommendations. Our visit to The Old Bauernhaus will now be a staple of our annual golf getaway in Kimberley. Save room for the strudel.

We "only" tried the feast, but that's a massive sampling of about 10 menu items. Of those, we actually enjoyed the appetizers the best. It's a great experience and very filling, with a ton of variety in such a cool setting. Vegetarians might be surprised how many options they have as well. Book your table in advance, it's really popular and with good reason!

i was there today the second time in 2 years . they are cheap , the people in the kitchen are dirty , no beard net and long hear and they charged me $ 145.00 for 2 people and the real bill should be less than $ 100.00 . when I tried to pay and mention what we head , she told me clearly , I know what you had and put many more drinks on my tap . she was mad at me when I told her about that . so watch the bill or don't go there and see the fake smile and don't get the feast , it is waisted money

Good service that doesn't rush you, leaving enough time to enjoy visiting with friends or with a dinner date..., before, during or even after the meal. There was no noisy tv to distract the meal or force you to speak too loud. Being a smaller restaurant it has an intimate feel to it with conversation easily spoken and understood. The decor was rustic wood with a warm homey feel and the food was not only delicious but displayed well on the plate. I found the breads to be especially tasty. Though somewhat pricey, I recommend this restaurant for a classy meal especially for special occasions.

I had the Schintzel and my husband the Halibut special..The chef is to be commended for his expert preparation of both dishes..The food was amazing, something you'd expect from a world class chef, the veggies in particular are so perfect, the real test of a true chef! Have the Apple Srudel with REAL ice cream, absolutely to die for...5 stars is not enough! As far as price, its what you'd expect for world class cuisine..
