We have driven by Cecil's more times than I can count, but never went. Today was the day. As far as food goes, you wont leave hungry. The portions given is quite enough to the point that you will require a nap afterwards, or a long walk. Food tasted great, definetly a nice change from store bought perogies to these giant ones. From the beef, to sausage, to cabbage rolls, to sauces; everything went really well together. Overall the food is really good, Jonathan and his unique personality made our first (and not the last) visit feel like a home cooked meal, without the cleanup. Thank you very much!

I've only been here twice but to be fair I've only just been introduced to this place by my girlfriend Chelsea. Johnathan is a very friendly employee who effortlessly runs the whole kitchen by himself everytime I've been there. The pierogies are absolutely delicious and the sauce is out of this world. The portions are very generous too. I will definitely be back soon and have recommended this to several friends.

Although this restaurant is located in Kelowna, this place was recommended in a community Facebook page that I belong to in Vancouver when someone asked where the beat perogies are. The perogies are made by hand from scratch. They have a special sauce on them which is ah-mazing...its like a warm butter/dill/cream sauce. So good! Traditional roast beef dinner is an option as well. Cant wait to go back!

The young gentleman at the cash was really nice he treated my girlfriend and I as family. He gave my partner a perogie sample and she was hooked we bought the largest size of pergoies and walked away smiling. I paid $18 for a bottle of pop and 10 perogies. I wanted perogies plain with a side of ranch. They didn’t have ranch, and shamed me for wanting ranch with my perogies. Not professional at all. I settled for dill dip. I expected a side of dip with my perogies, but I got perogies drenched in an beige watered down sauce that flowed out of the package and all over the bag. I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable in this establishment. I was judged and not satisfied with my order at all. We called to ask if there’s anything to do and the man at the front just got upset about the ranch thing again. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The food was terrible. I couldn’t get one bit without gagging because of the sauce on it. I’m beyond disappointed

The food is wonderful and I go every time I visit Kelowna. I really like it. But... They gotta lose the whole song & dance nonsense with the "I'm the guy who runs the place. Buddy! I got 6 weird questions for you. Buddy!! Bro!" It goes on too long and it's tiring. I'm fine with some pleasant chit chat and ordering food but it's an annoying ordeal after the 5th time due to not being recognized because we're not locals. That sounds mean but I want this place to do really well and I'm trying to help. It's a tourism city, so they should want more of that business.

A little bit pricey for perogies, although everything was handmade, so it was at least understandable. Two of us ate for $30 at lunch, and I even had some leftovers! The person who was serving us was a little bit eccentric, although he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food though, was amazing. The roast beef and gravy was a little less warm than I'd have hoped, although it was one guy working at lunch with 4 tables. Again, understandable. The sausage was great, and the perogies were to die for. I will definitely be back. It's a shame they don't offer delivery.

There are 2 places for dynamite perogies in town and cecil's is one of them!!! My go to dish is Dustin's. Cheddar jalepenos smokies are the best! I could bath in the dill sauce that is on the perogies!! SO GOOD! I was surprised that I did not like the borscht though, thought it would be super good. Cabbage rolls are unreal! Overall, an unreal place that has been around forever. A staple in Kelowna and a must go to if visiting! A family run business, so awesome, so friendly. Thanks for putting good food out there!

NO STARS! Food was terrible and service was not there. They know nothing of Ukrainian or Polish food. If you're starving it would pass as desperate survival food. That's about it! Anyone who says these are good perogies have never had perogies. Try DJ's in Vernon or Polish Bistro in Penticton to see what real Ukraninian/Polish food tastes like!

Delicious! I was originally thinking this place was pretty expensive for pierogies, but after ordering I understand why - they are huge!! I got the order of 6 and was stuffed. Came with delicious buttery garlic sauce, a bun, and bacon bits. I added in sour cream. Tastes really good and I will be back!

How the heck have I never written a review for this place before now? It's a great place. Do you like perogies? Go to Cecil's. That's really all that needs to be said, but I'll keep going. Food wise, the perogies are delicious. It's so delicious you'll hate if any of the sauce drips out of the container because it's good sauce. You can get six very filling perogies for around 10 bucks, and that's value, especially since it comes with a piece of bread and some bacon bits (the good kind). The sausages and such that they offer are all great too. Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the borscht, and even then it was fine, just not my fave. Go for the combo that sounds good to you. Parking's a slight pain because it's an awkward area of town but they do have a dedicated spot around back. Friendly folk, nice family-run business.

Best perogies in town. Hands down. You'll probably have the delight of speaking to The Perogy Prince if you call in or stop by. Hes got old fashioned manners, and is a young guy so it takes you by surprise! And the sauce for them is by far the best I've ever tried. It's like crack.. for perogies. Go and support a local spot with a long history, recipes passed down through generations, great customer service and phenomenal food.

Cecils grandson does an awesome job here - the big guy would be so proud! He’s extremely nice and friendly.. always easy going, joking around and making an effort to make people feel welcome and happy with everything. In a city with the absolute worst customer service and attitude everywhere you go, he’s a breath of fresh air to encounter. The perogies are as good as they always have been. I read the negative reviews and they are ridiculous... “they don’t give tap water”, “I wanted ranch with my perogies”... I mean come on. Do these people ever get out? This is their signature dish, that’s just how they come! Who would be so inclined to write a negative review over such petty things? This is an independent, family run, Kelowna institution... support them! They deserve it! Keep being awesome Cecils????????

Worst experience ever... Waiting in the line for a while and once it was finally my turn to order the young man who took the orders started to pick girls from the line, girls who were behind me. He treated me as I would be invisible so at least this feedback will be visible. Would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy.

I really enjoy the food here. Every time I have had a fantastic meal and the taste is original. It's a little off the beaten path, but it's worth it. Prices are pretty good so you get value for dollar. Nice and family run. I wanted to update my review, and increased its rating. This place is great. If you want good food, made by genuine and honest people, this is the place. Still tastes great, take some home and share with your friends and family. The perogies are absolutely delicious and I would totally give Cecil's 5 stars because of that, but I have to take one star off due to the fact that they are not willing to give tap water to their customers when requested. Not serving tap water because they want people to buy the bottled water instead is a bit scummy if you ask me, especially considering 99% of restaurants in North America offer tap water for their customers. However, this is but a minor issue. Amazing perogies!

I would normally give 5 stars. I have always loved the food and great atmosphere but saddly today we were disappointed to find the restaurant locked up tight. The website says they are currently open and not too busy. I hope that this isnt a sign of the downfall of a great legacy. Cecile was a great man and I am afraid would be gravely disappointed in the lack of attention to details, quality and customer service.

The guy that works there is an absolute gem. Hes caring and kind and enthusiastic. This is a run down little hole in the wall kind of place.. its homey and warm and it smells better than your grandmothers kitchen. Everytime I go there I see this same young man. And hes always so happy and hes always so polite to be serving his family perogy recipe. Hes a great asset to this business. And the perogies will make you drool. You simply dont drive past downtown without stopping here. You don't. It's illegal. Stop here and get some darn good home made perogies.

Second time we went I was told I have to have the sauce. I am half Russian and I had never had a sauce on my perogies or any other Russian food. It's just not something I want. plus I am not a fan of sauces. So when the rude grandson told me the meal has to have the sauce. I was not impressed and we left.
