This is the the third time I have been here. The other times I went, we waited over an hour for food and service was not that good. Thought I would give it another chance as a friend from another country was visiting and wanted to share the experience with them. Food arrived within 45 minutes or so but came cold. They also forgot to give us a coleslaw. Asked for bill and had to wait about 10 minutes to receive it at the table. Got impatient and walked up to bar to pay. Sadly we will not be returning anymore. To frustrating to try to get food on a night out.

Waited well over an hour for overcooked eggs and stone cold food after the order was placed with our server. To be honest I’m actually kind of impressed, as I’ve never seen a line cook poach an egg to the point where it’s dulls whatever knife is used to cut it. Coffee tasted like the same grounds have been used for brewing since the place opened.

Absolutely love the patio this year with the new outdoor bar! Such a cool atmosphere.. Makes me feel like I'm in the wild west ???? also love the new extended hours, and wide variety on the menu!! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars as I find some inconsistency with the food quality - sometimes it's mouthwatering to-die-for food, and other times it's just "okay". Also have had my pork nachos made 3-4 different ways now (which I really don't mind, nachos are hard to screw up ???? just different). Hoping to have many more amazing meals in the future as I'll be back often! ????

Was in the mood for some good bbq and found this place on google so we decided to give it a try. I had the beef brisket sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich while my daughter had the Cajun Mac and Cheese. All the food was right on point and delicious. The Jack Daniel beans and coleslaw are a must to try. The staff were super nice and the atmosphere was very inviting. Really liked the local craft beer. If I could give one piece of constructive criticism it would be the sandwich bread. Food this good should be served on a proper locally freshly baked bun. I highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back.

We visited Strack's today for lunch and it is a lovely patio tucked away on a quiet street. Pros: Staff was friendly & their brisket sandwich was tasty. Cons: I ordered a margarita and the description on the menu said that it was frozen, but what I got was not frozen and tasted like watered down lime cordial to me. The food took 45 minutes to arrive after ordering. The appetizer we ordered came with our mains and the chicken sandwich was only warm, not hot upon arrival to our table. All that being said, the restaurant was very busy, and while the staff were great, they did seem flustered. While we dined we overheard that they only have a small kitchen and there was an issue with their ordering system. Overall, seems like a great spot and we may return, but we will definitely avoid the Sunday afternoon rush.

The place was very good, excellent outdoor patio, plenty of tables. I had the ribs, nice sauce sides were good, my draft beer could have been colder, other than that, I'll be back.

Went here for the first time to check out their menu as a potential option for our wedding catering- ordered the beef brisket & the pork ribs. Only 2 tables were occupied at the time who were already eating, and a table was occupied about 15 mins after us. 1- after waiting patiently for 45 mins (with no staff checking in on us), we asked them if everything was alright as had not received our order but could see a table after us had. They mentioned issues with their order system saying our order didn't get placed & asked for our order again. Finally received our dinner after an hour+ of placing the order. 2- the pork ribs was overcooked to the point of being inedible. We ended up leaving most of it as it was rubbery & tough to chew- we showed this to the staff and were compensated. Overall, a disappointing visit to a grill place which is unable to cook their ribs (even if ours could be the one-off case) & would not recommend unless service and food quality has changed. Update: reached out to the email mentioned below and didn't get a reply.

This spot is absolutely worth the drive, food was outstanding, staff were great prices are perfect and portions were awesome. I recommend the bacon wrapped peppers sooooooooo good. Definitely check this place out when you're craving BBQ.

Ordered half chicken dinner with salad and coleslaw for pick up. Coleslaw was rancid, the entire inside of my vehicle smelled like rotten food, opened the salad and it had the same smell.

Super funky place - great patio vibe. Food was really good. We had the ribs and the pulled pork nachos and enjoyed both! The only complaint is the service. It took over 20 minutes to get seen by a server and have a drink order placed ????. Once we had a server assigned to our table she was good, very pleasant & worked hard to be efficient. Sadly, the place is understaffed but during these times that seems to be a struggle for many restaurants. We will try it again.

Attacks is a lovely out of place hidden spot with a great atmosphere. The pros: 1) Good vibes 2) Our server had great people person skills and went the extra mile to offer us free drinks for a lengthy wait. 3) the burger was huge! The cons: 1) the fries seemed like frozen fries The extras: 1) our wait time exceeded over 1.5 hours due to a goverent visit...it's a bit unfortunate but that's what happened. Overall: Definitely have to try this place again for the ribs/brisket to get a better feel for the quality of food. I would definitely recommend this place for the time being for a great down to earth atmosphere.

We went there for lunch on Sunday. Not too many people there when we arrived. The waiter was nice and services was standard. But the foods were horrible. Ordered half rack of ribs since I though it must be good for a BBQ house. I was so wrong! Super dry and hard! My kids said my BBQ rids taste much better. We also ordered Pulled Pork Nachos and Eggs Benedict. The pork was same dry and hard. The homefries were also overcooked and dry. The eggs were the best on that day, finally something not hard and dry. Foods were not fresh there!

Great place but they are consistently inconsistent. When the owner is there the food is top quality, but you can really tell when he takes the evening off mid week. Glad they are busy, great atmosphere and great location. *edit* owner came out because I had to wait long for my food and gave me a free beer.... from 4 to 5 stars!

We were weekly regulars until this evening. Great food if you ever get your order taken! We were seated with menus and waited 35 minutes and the server never returned to even came to take a drink order. We witnessed an individual at the next table served 3 beers while we waited patiently. Eventually patience ran out and so did we. There are numerous eating establishments in Scugog Township that will value my hard earned dollars on a Friday evening.

My wife and I went to what was a favourite restaurant for supper recently, and waited for over an hour for food that never came consequently we chose to walk out. Nice people and a terrific layout but food service was lacking. Probably a good place to go for a drink though. Hopefully Strack’s can revert to their former glory.

Always a fantastic experience. Love the patio being open for business! Lots of parking. Friendly staff and I like BBQ but I'm part partial to an all day breakfast though! Staff takes COVID 19 precautions seriously and the town is delightful to visit ????

Very poor service. A hour and a half to get our food, mine was cold. The owner Steve wouldn't even talk to us but sent one of his girls to do his job! On my way out Steve and I had words and he said it was his staffs fault so he wasn't responsible to make it right even though he is the owner. Another unhappy customer who complained has offered Steve help free of charge to get his business on track. I hope he takes that offer! We won't be back!

We went for a "get out of the house Covid drive" and started to get hungry, so we stopped into Strack's and ordered some wings and fries. They were very good and looking forward to trying some the other menu items! The staff we encountered were very nice, welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be going for another country drive. ????

i was at the track at Mosport and found this place by chance.I am sure glad i did.i had the cole slaw,smoked wings. These wings were about the best i have ever had.Special shoutout to the staff,they were having problems with their order system and were very busy but yet their attitude and service was a 10. will be back

It was ok... The ribs were a bit tough, however the smoke taste in the chicken, brisket and pulled pork was pretty good. The wait staff were slightly unprofessional with some drunk guys at the bar which made for an annoying dinner to be honest... Decent quiet spot for lunch, beer was cold, I would go back. Servers seemed new and were being trained. Was lacking a bit but once they get it down it would be better. Hope for a better experience next time.

My husband has been for breakfast in the past and said it was great. We then went recently and had the absolute worst experience - both service and food. I have worked in the food and service industry so I definitely know it is not an easy job and I always appreciate and understand the challenges they face from customers. There was 1 larger group eating and 1 couple who arrived before us and we waited almost an hour to get our food, without any mention/awknowledement by staff of the delay. We then got served the wrong order and were told they could not change it because they ran out of what we had originally ordered. The food was served cold, over salted and very minimal portions for the price. When we were served our coffee and tea, we had no sugar, cream or milk and had to ask our server, but by that time they were cold. We also weren't given cutlery with our meal. Normally, these little things would not be an issue at all but it just combined with everything else that was going wrong. We felt so bad for the other people arriving after us because they experienced the same thing, with some items not being available but being told well after they already ordered. Very disappointed and will not be going back.

As I live in Texas 6 mos of the year and a friend there is a Master Pit Master, I am fussy about my brisket! What can I say ... we need to get Daniel Vaughn up here to rate this smokin' place! Tender, moist, great taste with just the right amount of fat streaking. Delicious!

I just came here for the first time and tried their banquet burger. This is easily the best burger I've ever eaten in my life. A bit pricey but worth every single penny, I'll be buying it again. Not only was the beef flavorful and tender, but the vegetables on it were crispy and tasted like they should.

They ran out of food, and should have told us this before we ordered. Still charged full price for the sampler meal and only got 2/3 of what was supposed to be on the plate, this should have bean discounted. Couldn't eat our meal because there were so many flies we had to cover our food with napkins. The staff should have been wearing masks, especially when coming to the table to take orders. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this place.

Horrible , we went on Saturday afternoon our waitress was new said it was her fourth day she did her best for lack of training. From when we placed our order to it arriving was over two hours. We had a table of 7 one of our tables meals was forgotten took over 30 minutes for him to get his food. Food came out cold and bland. nothing like we had heard , total disappointment. When we went wanted to pay and leave we had to find a staff member 5 times in order to get our bills to pay. After over 30 minutes of waiting for our bills we had to go to the bar and they were really messed up took another 15 minutes to get then straight. Many people around us who were waiting on food for over an hour asked just to pay for the drinks so they could leave.

Wings were good! Quesadilla was mediocre and the ribs were terrible. Service was standard, two nice ladies. We were so disappointed they weren’t checking vaccine passports. Some staff, guests and musicians were walking around without masks on. I felt so uncomfortable the entire time. In hindsight we should have left the moment they didn’t check our credentials. We pretty much ate and ran. Praying we don’t get covid!

We recently made our first and last visit to Stracks. Our take out order took 90 minutes, and we called it in at 4 pm. They got the order completely wrong the first time, so we had to go back to sort it out. Waited 35 minutes inside for the fix, and they screwed it up a second time. Staff were not wearing masks, and they were not checking vaccine status for patrons. The ribs and brisket were pretty good (we never did get our Cole slaw, and the JD beans were a dried out mess .... definitely not worth the hassle). Kitchen staff were overwhelmed (it was not busy) and the owner (Steve) did not lift a finger to help. A complete $hit show. This place needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay or Michael Irvine.

I went here after doing some off road with my kids. Their kids menu is cheap and they give you lots of fries. For me i had the smoked beef brisket it was amazing. I will come back here next time i am in the area.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Our server got us drinks and took our breakfast order for 4. Came back 15 minutes later with 2 lunch orders like she had no clue what we ordered. We told her politely it wasn’t ours. We waited 1 hour for our breakfast then finally gave up and left. The place was not very busy, and they had 3 servers standing about 20 ft away from us. No sorry, we have a problem, no ask for refills, no eye contact... nothing! You think we would be approached when walking out. Nope, didn’t come over, and strangely avoided eye contact. Noticed a couple other folks standing around waiting... experiencing the same poor service.

Brisket was perfectly cooked. BBQ chicken was super juicy and tender, plus the flavor was killer. Would definitely recommend. We took a detour off the highway to check it out and they did not disappoint. Their outdoor dining space was such a cool rustic spot. Definitely felt like a southern style BBQ joint.

I’ve been going to stracks for a few years now. It’s my favourite restaurant and 5 mins away. They make you feel like your at home. Amazing food, amazing hospitality. Just went yesterday and had the best nachos I’ve ever had, shout out to Alex. Thanks stracks ????

They need help. RIDICULOUS wait time for a take out order. OVER AN HOUR. To top it off, we got someone else's order. Another 20 minute wait and they neglected to give us our coleslaw. No goodwill gesture of a complimentary item to try and impress and make things better. Hospitality lessons for the owner would be wise.

My girlfriend, her four year old and I went here for dinner at 6pm. Upon arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation, to which we did not. We were seated in the back table. We waited 15 minutes to be offered a drink. The wine ordered was not available we were told 15 minutes later. We then waited approximately 25 minutes to order food. Kids grilled cheese and fries, Greek salad and Jambalaya. 5 minutes later, I was told Jambalaya was not available. I re ordered the 12oz brisket meal $24. The first two meals came out, the salad was 60% brown lettuce with ZERO feta cheese. What exactly is a Greek salad. Zero cutlery to use. My meal, the brisket 12oz was 6-8oz of pure fat and grizzle. Honestly, the absolute worst food and service I have experienced in 47 years. Sad part is we just moved into the area and could walk there. After speaking to the server about the displeasure of my experience, I was offered a "gift card!". Why in the hell would I want that. $75 for nasty, fatty, wilted and rotting food served to a local family. NOT OK AT ALL. Please do not go to this establishment. Pure waste of time and money.

Interesting place. Although they were overwhelmed with a party of 150 bikers and several huge orders (the chef came out to apologize and explained this) I had a good time. Crew is friendly, the place/location is like a cultural immersive experience, but the meat, the meat is everything!

service is hit or miss. food is mediocre if your lucky. if I'm going to buy food i want to enjoy it and its not really enjoyable. also aggravating when the say the pizza oven is broken when its a wood pizza oven.... was nice and convenient to have a place somewhere so rural but its worth a farther drive to get better food and service. also i feel like there is something against serving people alcohol in abundance and withholding food which is questionable. you wait for ever for food but no issue serving you.

Brisket was ok. Had better. Poor service but maybe because it was busy? Took over an hour to get food and 5 min before the food came, the waitress came to the table to say they did not have a half chicken that we ordered an hour ago. Not sure if it was good enough to make up for the poor service.

Haven’t dined in yet but ordered takeout a couple times. Amazing!!! Wings were delicious, can’t wait to dine in! Only giving 3 stars because all we’ve tried is takeout but super friendly staff and nice looking restaurant! Definitely recommend!

Well ....here is my review. Service is absolutely brutal...waited to get in...waited forever for my 1st beer...maybe 10 customers in the entire place. Ordered onion rings because I saw at least 4 people wait far too long for take out....was told half hour after my order that the kitchen was out of onion rings. Wasn't told about the specials...4 or 5 tables left not cleaned from previous customers the entire time I was here. Bartender tells me they are shortstaffed ...counted 4 workers to 10 clients hmmmm...too bad ...place is destined for failure.

My husband and I took our son and my mother here on Boxing Day for breakfast and it was excellent! The food was delicious and came in such large portions for the price. The staff was super friendly and even the other customers that we could tell were regulars were friendly which is not common in my experience. Would recommend for breakfast or lunch, would love to see them open for dinner as well!

First visit to this wee little rustic space. Breakfast was yummy. The server was so very friendly as were the people sitting at the table in the corner by the door (local peoples?) Loved this place. Will definitely go back to try some after breakfast fare.
