Buffet for 2 adults and 1 child, 2 coffee, 1 chocolate milk, 1 small OJ, 1 large OJ.... $54.33. Food quality was OK, nothing amazing or stand out, selection average, owner was stalking back and forth from hot table with clipboard keeping stations filled. Son asked for a glass of water that never arrived, but was argued about between staff as it was sitting at the counter and not delivered anywhere. Most staff seemed unhappy and disorganized as the tone of restaurant was less than welcoming. This visit was much before the busiest point of the morning with several tables available throughout the restaurant. Bright spot was the person on the register who was cheery. Will not return.

Stood in the doorway for over 25 mins. Place was packed and no one addressed us to offer a timeline to be seated. We just left and went somewhere else. I'm sure the place is really good seeing as it was so busy but I can't offer anything more if I can't get a seat.

Went here for lunch almost every day for a week as I was in the area on work, I also live close by so I've been here for breakfast a few times as well. The food is amazing and the prices are so reasonable, the owner is very friendly, service is quick and the servers I had were wonderful and very attentive. This is a small business so I would definitley say it's worth it to go here rather than spend your money at smitty's or egg smart. Thank you to all the staff for being amazing everytime I've been here!

I have been here a few times, and it is my staple breakfast location in Lindsay. I enjoy going during the week to avoid the breakfast buffet, and the service is effective and quick even when they're really busy. Definitely something to check out when in the Lindsay area, and a great local restaurant.

Amazing as always. Top notch food, service & staff. Never leave hungry. The breakfast ham is superb, not the salt lick style you get at other places, this is from a real ham roast, yum! I get 'The Triple' everytime (pictured below) , collectively we've tried the breakfast bowl, veggie omelette, pulled pork omelette fruit cup(yes it's fresh) and eggs Benedict, with nothing but dancing tastebuds and a full belly!

For $13.50 (if you make it in time) you can enjoy the breakfast buffet. It was a little pricey for what we actually were able to consume. I'll go will a breakfast meal off the menu next time. Overall, great experience.

AWESOME....Today was our first time trying the long weekend buffet. The food was fantastic and the customer service was outstanding. Options included: eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, taters, pemeal, ham, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, fresh fruit and more! We will DEFINITELY be back!

We were treated to breakfast at this gem of a place a few months back. It’s so memorable that I was reminded today that I still need to write a review!! We hardly waited for a table, on a busy Sunday morning in the beginning of summer: no easy feat for our party of 10. We had kiddies, seniors, people on carb-restricted diets and some pretty picky eaters too (ok, mostly the kids!) but everyone found something delicious on the menu to enjoy. Prices were extremely reasonable and the atmosphere was everything you could expect from a locally-owned, busy diner. Although our waitress was attentive, albeit busy, it did not go unnoticed that the owner was also whirling around, refilling coffee and clearing plates, as needed. Any business owner who works that hard and is willing to get their hands dirty with the grunt work, is someone I’m thrilled to support with my patronage/dollars. We live out of town, but will be dreaming of our next visit to family’s house in the area so we can head over to St. Dave’s Diner once again.

Ordered the Cheese Steak Supreme. Lukewarm, soggy fries and dry steak led to a disappointing experience. Will not return. Staff was pleasant, though. My response to the individual that replied to this review 16Jun2021. Unless there is another St. Dave's Diner across the street from the "Lindsay Stop" Esso station in Lindsay ON then I absolutely "have the correct diner". Moreover, your reply is a definite red-herring intended to gaslight.

YUM!! Stopped in today for a take-out lunch and we had the best diner food we've had in a long time. Friendly staff and really tasty food. Killer handmade burger and philly steak sandwich. And they actually have sweet potato fries!! We live 40min away in Bobcaygeon and we'll be making the drive to this place for diner cravings. Worth it! (I'd share a photo but we ate it all too fast to pause for the camera lol)

Best breakfast place in Lindsay. They have an extensive menu that will satisfy everyone's breakfast cravings. I like that they offer a mix of traditional breakfast items and more niche items like potato rostis, or pulled pork hash. Great for a big or small group, and they are very kid/baby friendly.

Went here on a whim on the way to the cottage. What an amazing find! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and the food is delish! I had the veggie omlete and I think that's probably the best omlete I've ever had! My guests had the pulled pork omlete (which lives up to that name- lots of pulled pork) and a bacon and eggs breakfast- big portions at a good price! I'll be stopping by again on my way home for sure

I am very sorry to say it was the worst experience I have had in a long time. There was no A/C on Saturday evening so it was so hot in there all the dessert was melting. And not even in any ice or covered to protect it from being coughed on etc. The waitress was rude, I heard after I paid for my dinner from another person in my party that she made faces and was waving her arms around like I was an idiot. For the price I paid and for the treatment we received next time we will go across the street to Timmy's in the gas station, to get better service . I will never step foot in there again for dinner until some one apologises and also some kind of refund. I was in there with 5 other people and they all said the same thing. And my bill was $80+ for heat exhaustion and disrespect.

I had heard about the all you can eat buffet there, on holidays and long weekends, but it was so much better than I ever imagined, all sorts of breakfast, bbq and dessert stuff, crazy variety, good service even though it was rammed. YOU MUST TRY this place. 2 seniors, 1 adult, buffet with coffees was around $43 without tip, well worth it.

I really like St. Dave's diner, my first impression was from a few months ago when I stopped here for brunch. The breakfast was top notch. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that on my second visit the table next to me was seated after us but served first. They had ordered burgers (different burger than myself) but were served first. Also my burger and fries were a bit over done. I know these are small things, but they add up to one star short of 5. I will definitely be a returning customer and give the opportunity to get that 5th star. Cheers.

Overall I don't think it's worth the buffet price because the food was a little bland and boring for my taste but I'm sure it may suit other tastes just fine and I do appreciate that a lot of food is made in house.

Stumbled on St. Dave a couple of weeks ago when I was in the Lindsay area. Loved it so much came back a week later, an hour drive from my house! Haven't tried the the buffet yet, next time for sure. But ordered from the menu and the portions are substantial and very well priced. A very enjoyable atmosphere with bantering between the regulars and staff, makes you feel right at home.

I'm not sure how long they've been re-opened but we appreciated the spacing between tables and the staff wearing face coverings. We ended up getting our own menus because the server was busy but the food was really good. The coffee was another story.... neither one of us could drink it - it was watery - weak and tasteless.

So good. We just discovered this Lindsay landmark after having driven past it hundreds of times. Great all day breakfast and dinners. They close at 2 Sunday to Wednesday but reopen from 4 to 8 Thursday to Saturday for a $17.99 all you can eat buffet. Can't wait to try that!

Went for brunch, food was mostly good (though we weren't fans of the pancakes). However it was served on checkered paper that got cut up with the pancakes and transferred dye to the eggs. We weren't really impressed with the service.

Good home cooked meal. Had the buffet: roast beef potatoes(mashed & salad), chicken, ham, mixed veg, gravy, baked beans, jambalaya soup, rice pudding, lemon cookie. Had brunch at St. Dave's with my family this morning and it was not a great experience. When the food arrived I wanted to order a second drink as I had just finished my first one, and the waiter very quickly asked if others at the table needed anything and left in a huge hurry after only 2 people had placed an order, leaving me no chance for mine. Upon returning to the table, someone else wanted another drink and just as I was about to request the same thing, he zipped away again. When he came back, I was finally able to ask for my drink... and he very "politely" patted me on the back and said "It's gonna be a while". (Politely is in italics as I could very much tell he was annoyed at my request, despite it being his own fault I could not get my order in the last 2 times he was at the table). And then, just to top it all off, my drink was never delivered. We sat there for 30 minutes and nothing came. I had to get a water bottle out of my car just to wash down my meal. Heck, a waitress who wasn't even looking after us had to come over to see if we wanted the bill. Like, I get it, it's a busy place, the wait would have been totally understandable, but maybe make sure everyone at the table is taken care of before rushing away, and if someone happens to get missed for whatever reason, the least you can do is be pleasant with them. Really not a great experience. The food was good at least.

I had a very disappointing experience at Dave's Diner today. The waitress brought 10 meals to the table for 9 customers. The waitress was very pleasant and I have no complaints against her. What disappointed me was the fact that the owner of the restaurant felt it necessary to approach my colleague and me to question us about this extra meal. Was it really necessary to center us out in this way?

This place is phenomenal. My guess is it’s a family owned diner. My two experiences we’re both amazing. The food is so good, great price and the staff are so friendly. They are very efficient are don’t have to wait long for your food. The owner is a great guy along with his daughter who also serves there. I highly recommend this place.

Editing my original post. Disappointed in the food during last few visits. First I thought something was off, my time of day, busy, or new cook, but it continues. Simple scrambled eggs flavorless and rubbery, sausage under cooked and orange juice tasted watered down. Will only do lunch in the future. I would never eat at this place again. Not because of the food, and not because of the service but only for the fact of how the owners treat their employee's. The employee's are shown no respect, talked about behind their back and treated terrible in general. The owners of this place make their profits on backs of the staff that work there and treat them like slaves. The labour board had to step in just so the waitresses could get breaks. Help the workers and choose somewhere else to eat and show these owners / bullies that how they treat their staff is not acceptable.

I took a chance as hunger was taking over as I drove endlessly. I was greeted by a very well spoken gentleman who offered me a menu. I chose take out and ordered the smoked chicken BBQ sandwich. We visited on a very busy weekend morning but we were seated quickly and had great service. The menu is inventive and the food that we ordered was delicious. This is obviously an excellent breakfast and lunch spot that is frequented by many locals - a mark of a good restaurant. I worked at this restaurant for a couple of weeks in food prep. No short cuts here, all food is made with fresh ingredients by staff who care about and take pride in what they do. No wonder the food is so good. Proof that good management is a key to success. Was sorry to leave but had to deal with aging parents.

St daves is amazing. Go at least once a month with friends. I remeber my gf and I went for valentine's last year and was shocked to try the buffet!!! We get out every long weekend now for every buffet. Easily the best diner in the kawarthas if not ontario. This place needs to be on "you gotta eat here" Staff is friendly. All the old pictures of lindsay hung on the wall are really neat!!! Each table has some sort of version of trivial pursuit which is great conversation starters and makes the wait for the food fun. Every weekend the place is packed. But don't let all the cars in the parking lot make you think it will take forever. Because they move people in and our very quickly. Overall 10/10 recommended to anyone. Great place!!
