Very expensive but you get what you pay for. It took a little bit to get served but there was a shift change going on when we showed up without reservations, so I would imagine if we showed up 30mins sooner it wouldn't have happened. This is a place you take someone you care about and want to bring to a special place to get some really superb food. Thanks for the amazing ribeye and those wonderful scallop and mushroom caps!

Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was very cozy and warm. Our group had a toddler and everyone was very accommodating. The food as always was amazing. The chowder was one of the best soups I've ever had. Steaks were cooked properly and perfectly aged and seasoned. This is our special occasion restaurant and it never fails to impress.

It was a great experience to be able to have dinner with my mom and daughter. We all had the 9oz steak dinner with vegetables and twice baked potato. The mushrooms were to die for and the steak extremely flavourful. We all had dessert and ordered the chocolate peanut butter torte for my daughter and my mom and I the creme brûlée and they were both amazing. I think it was best creme brûlée I’ve ever tasted, the torte was a bit too sweet but tasty. This is a must try if you are ever in the Lindsay area.

We have been told how great the steak was we had to try. We drove the 1 hour drive for my wife's birthday and went to dinner. The food was very good. Well the steak was very good. Mental note order it under cooked what you like as the plate continues to cook your meal. The service was like we went to Kelsey s or a firkin type place. The first impression was the restaurant was made cheaply and poor designed. From plastic ceiling tiles to fake cofferd ceilings. Again food was very good but not the atmosphere you ecpect for $150 meal.

The service is impeccable. Always. I feel like a pampered princess when I visit here. The food is fabulous. Always. My favorite salad is the orange and almond. Favorite steak is the ribeye. I have recently decided that I like the roast potatoes best. The vegetables are always cooked to perfection, and this time included rainbow beets, what a lovely surprise! Frank hand-picked the perfect scotch for my palate, alas I can't recall the name! That is making me very sad, as it proved to be indescribable sublime! Oh, and DO NOT skip dessert at this place. You have been warned! PS I visit Lindsay from California, and each time as I book my flight, I am already looking forward to my dinner at Hobart's Steak House.

My husband and I moved to Lindsay last week. While we waited for the moving truck to come we treated ourselves to a night out at Hobart's Steakhouse. We were served by a spectacular waitress who offered us details about the food and made a personal connection with us by sharing her pregnancy stories (I am nine months pregnant). The food arrived promptly and was visually appealing and absolutely mouthwatering. The steak was sizzling and cooked to perfection. My lobster macaroni and cheese was creamy and rich in its homemade sauce and was complimented with diced red pepper and chunks of real lobster. Dining at Hobart's Steakhouse was an experience we won't soon forget. It was an amazing place to eat and I highly recommend it. Thank you for a lovely night!

Not only did we have reservations but we had to wait 30min to be seated. We watched the owner bump regulars ahead of my wife and I. Talk about very slow and poor service. We had to ask for drinks everytime our glassed were empty. We will never be back to this joke of a restaurant again.

First off, the food here is excellent and it always has been. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments end. It literally hurts to write the rest of this review because the number of family events that have occurred at Hobart's is significant. We have eaten here since the restaurant had a small, single level seating area (and no liquor license), the additional raised portion came afterwards. The ambience was always noisy but it is now intolerable, it was noisy when they opened, it is excessively noisy now. A simple fix is to install floating glass windows, they do not interrupt sight lines but they cut noise considerably, especially in confined areas. There was a time when the service and hosting staff (Chris?) was professional and efficient. This ended when several key staff people left and has not improved. Our last visit (last AND last) showed a marked deterioration in common sense (employee age may be a factor here) and it is now clear the current employees are simply filling holes in the staffing situation. To the owner Frank, this is unacceptable. We will no longer pay a premium for substandard ambience and bad-attitude and effort regardless of the quality of the food. It is time to make some changes.

If you are in Lindsay and miss having dinner at Hobart's it is your loss. Excellent cuisine and service. We had the Chateaubriand and the meat just melts in your mouth. I highly recommend a trip to this terrific Steakhouse.

I had a steak and it was cooked to perfection. The whole meal tasted wonderful and the service was very good. The waitress sat us at our table as soon as we walked in. She had great knowledge of the menu and was able to offer suggestions. She was quick at picking up empty plates and refill our water glasses. I will definitely be eating here again.

Even though we made reservations, this is the first time my wife and I have had to wait for a table at a restaurant of this calibre. When finally seated we were seated by a busboy. They do not seem to have a host/hostess or maitre d' to track reservations and seat people. The prime rib wascexcellent but expensive, my wife ordered the Seafood Angel Hair pasta, but the dish was short on seafood. The atmosphere was extremely noisy even after the restaurant emptied to less than half later in the evening so this is not the place to go for a quiet, intimate dinner.

Had a 7:15 reservation for 8 people for my wife's birthday. Didn't get seated until 8. Food wasn't on our table until after 9. Very slow service. Ribeye was cooked to my satisfaction but was not very tender. Bit of a disappointment. Small noisey over booked over crowded steak house. You can find better. Wouldn't recommend. On the upside our server was friendly.

Took my husband to dinner in December on his birthday. Food was delicious but our stake was burnt a little. The drinks tasted delicious. Our server was genuinely nice but other staff kind of looked down on us. Someone asked my husband if he is from Toronto. It’s one thing asking if we are out of town but to assume we came from Toronto sent out a different message to us. Soft micro-aggression? I’m like we live here. Black people live in Lindsay as well. Will give the restaurant another try when it’s open. In the meantime, we will be ordering take out on April 23rd. It’s our 17th wedding anniversary.

Best rib eye steak I've ever had!!!! My husband and I had dinner here for the 1st time and it was wonderful! We went to the Lindsay location. Katrina was our server and she was friendly and answered all of our questions. My husband and I both had the ranch cut rib eye steak and it was the most tender steak I have ever eaten in my life, the perfect amount of flavor and cooked to perfection! Only negative things I would say is no vegetables were served with the steak just a little tiny bit of lettuce greens with shredded carrots other then that excellent meal we will definitely be back!

These reviews are always hard to me as I hate giving anything less than a 5 star but as always I like being as transparent as possible with my reviews. I'll start with the obvious; the pricing is exactly what you'd expect from a steakhouse but unfortunately the food doesn't back it up. I had ordered a steak meal which came with a salad and side, I got the caesar salad to start, it tasted fine, I mean caesar salad isn't difficult to get right. Where it went downhill was when the steak was served. I always get my steaks medium rare and while the steak was cooked to a proper medium rare, the steak itself looked sad and dry and sure enough upon taking my first bite it was dry but that carried on into the side, I paired my steak with the wild rice pilaf and it was just dry and bland. I had to mix it in with the juices from the mushrooms just to make it bearable. In my opinion that meal was not worth the $40 but the damage is done, nothing I can do about it now. I had honestly thought that maybe I just got hit with some bad luck of the draw but it turns out I was wrong. My girlfriend had ordered the stuffed chicken and had very similar comments to make regarding her meal. She mentioned that it was very bland and if it weren't for the creamy sauce, the chicken would have been way too dry. It's unfortunate that the food didn't live up to the high rating this place has on google but like I said maybe we just got hit with some bad luck.

We had our wedding anniversary meal here this evening. We could not have asked for a better experience. The service was exceptional from our waitress, so friendly and great attention to detail. The decor, music, and ambiance were great. The manager also came around and we had a lovely chat. And the food....oh my...the food! The rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce was cooked to perfection. My husband's prime rib was also outstanding. The taste perfectly satisfied the steak cravings I dream of. The chocolate banana pate with Lisa's specilaty coffee was a perfect sweet finish to our meal. Hobart's, thanks for an exceptional restaurant experiemce. We will be back!

Recently moved to Lindsay and was very happy to discover Hobarts. A great variety of dishes on the menu and quality service. We had the Orange & Almond Greens Salad, Ceasar Salad, NY Striploin Steak and Seafood Jambalaya Linguine. All exceeded our expectations. Our compliments to the Chef. Our server Kathy was attentive and had impeccable timing. She's an exceptional server. It was evident that the Hobart team worked well together and enjoyed their jobs which added to a great atmosphere. If they have raspberry gelato with warm chocolate cake when you go, order it, even if you can't eat it all. It was exquisite.

We had a fabulous dinning experience when we visited. We did not have a reservation but we were seated at a comfortable table after only a short wait. The meal was delicious and the service excellent. We opted for the all-in-steak dinner and thought that the value for money was very good. The steaks were delicious. The dessert menu looked scrumptious - I wish that we had had room to partake.

The food was great but was disappointed that I had to wait over a half an hour for my table that I had reserved days before. I thought this was fine dinning yet I was over dressed. I also was celebrating a birthday and was to have a surprise piece of cake brought to the table. The waitress asked if anyone is celebrating anything . It was suppose to be a surprise, well surprise no cake brought. The service felt rushed and for the money spent it was disappointing.

Horrible, Horrible, Stay away. Felt RIPPED off! Go to The Keg in Peterborough. Food quality below average, tough beef, overcooked lobster tail, and cold!! Plate stacked so full, thrown together care free. Mentioned beef was tough to waiter, never made effort to fix, just walked away, Called Frank next day with feedback, stated he'd call me back to make it better, never did! Now thats just bad management. Place needs a face lift, ambiance poor, ate there before had same issue, lacks consistency, and demonstrates poor value.
