Had the guys make me some sandwiches. One was their own beef and one their own turkey. At 5 bucks it was a bargain considering extra meat I asked for. Super tasteful and amazing sandwiches. Right across the street from Wendy's... Hmmm let me think where should I go. I recommend.

Great place, meat is always fantastic. I'd give it 5 star if they listed prices of things somewhere. I don't mind paying for quality, but it's a surprise to pick 1 steak, get it wrapped and see a price tag of $20.

OUTSTANDING quality ... from the fresh meat, to the smoked meats to the items prepared and ready to pop in the oven (like the awesome stuffed chicken). His bacon is the ONLY bacon I will purchase. Bought smoked pork chops. They are the greatest. Best around the area. Always freindly service. Never been dissappointed. You must try them.. Dont worry about other negetive reviews as these folks obviousley enjoy a tasteless Ronald Mc D food and dont know what quality is or real food.

Clean and friendly butcher shop with catering service. Prime cuts of beef, pork, lamb, chicken and veal. All kinds of sausages, condiments and produce as well. I always stop at Franz's when I'm in Peterborough! I got some good advice from the butcher and made a killer lamb stew yesterday - the frozen lamb was tasty and unbelievably tender!

Peterborough's best butcher shop by a country mile. Excellent quality and a full choice of premium cuts. At Christmas time consider his smoked hams or a de-boned fresh turkey. If you are cooking for friends, and want the meal to be perfect, see Franz for a perfect prime rib or porterhouse cut steaks. You just can't go wrong. I'm addicted to his bacon. I've been buying there for many years and I've never had a bad cut.

I have to say. Our neighbours were unable to head to Windsor for Christmas with their daughter’s family so the contacted Franz’s and arranged to have a fully prepared turkey dinner to be picked up to enjoy at home. They invited us over because there was way more food than two seniors could possibly eat. I have to say everything was simply perfect. It turned their disappointment of not spending Christmas with family into a wonderful evening around a fabulously prepared Turkey Dinner. Thank you so very much.

Franz has my favorites. The gold medal bacon cannot be beat. Best all around. The breakfast sausages are great. Amazing steaks, chicken, pork. Very friendly staff that will give great tips on cooking meat. They do a good lunch too! Their stuffed chickens are excellent! The Best Butcher!!

Drove from Bobcaygeon to get Susan's Mustard and saw a sign "bison meat", so we looked for it and found a bunch of frost bitten, obviously failed, full of air vacuum packs that were disgusting. Then we found a couple of stakes that looked still OK, around $25.00 a piece, we bought two. Both were funky tasting and not edible. A complete waste of our money! We have had good experiences here before, how they could allow this to happen is crazy - we are never going back.....

We have been going to Frans Butcher shop for years. We always spend around 2-300.00 when we go. We were pretty disappointed on our last visit this past weekend. The older lady with the bun on top of her head was extremely rude. We need to find out if she is the owner and if so, we won't be returning.

We ordered pulled pork and received sliced pork with bbq sauce...when we called and spoke to the owner he apologized and offered compensation...we will go back because of that. Anyone thinking of buying pulled pork needs to confirm it is pulled, not sliced. Thank you Franze for looking after us ! The year before we ordered pulled pork and it was pulled...and it was fantastic

If you enjoy quality products, supplied by a quality family business, You will not be disappointed by Franz Butcher shop. After visiting the shop in person, and speaking with Hans,looking, first hand at there shop, I was impressed. We are Torontonian's, spending most life up north, hard to find Premium Quality up here. We are accustomed to Quality. Research brought me to Peterborough, and Franz's,1.25 hours away. We enjoy Quality. Our first shopping, we were impressed. When you walk into a butchershop deli, and the scent tastes good, you are in good hands. We purchased, bacon, cold cuts, Butchered meats, All were excellent I decided to give them the opportunity to age me a Shortloin of beef, Hans would accommodate my request. 60 days later, I picked it up, singularly packaged, to my specifications. BBQ today, they met our expectations. ????

Spent 1 day in Peterborough & thought I would check out this butchershop. Great service & even better sausages. I asked if they had any Turkey sausages (for my wife & daughter) & the butcher went out of his way to get me some from the basement. I ordered some Octoberfest sausages for myself & they were absolutely delicious! Add in the price of $4.38 (for 2 Octoberfest) = congrats Peterborough, you have a winner.

My daughter bought me about $20 worth of their maple bacon . It doesn’t smell like their maple bacon nor does it taste like their maple bacon . Either very lightly maple smoked or someone pulled a fast one . Too late to take it back. I froze most if it .

My husband and I love this store. The staff is knowledgeable, and friendly. The products they offer are top of the line as well. We make sure we go there every weekend to stock up for the week, and we would not go anywhere else for our BBQ parties.

I spoke with a woman on the phone about our wedding, and she was very rude to me. I made an effort to express how completely understanding I am about how busy the upcoming season will be, and that our needs were very few, yet she repeatedly interrupted me with snappy remarks to remind me that if we chose their business, our wedding would certainly not be a priority in any way. She seemed annoyed that I called to have a friendly chat about it, as apparently she “refuses to talk about weddings in December”. She curtly said “no I do not want to see you” when I offered to come in to look at their products. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am, as I have heard so many good things. We will make other plans, but I hope if I think of them for another event I will find a more courteous employee on the other end of the line, even if there isn’t room in their schedule for me.

From sirloin cap for Pichana to tenderloin for Beef Wellington and everything in between we know we can get the cut and quality we search for in a fine butcher shop. Fantasic Meat pies. The maple beef jerky is to die for as well. They also turned me on to the Frenchie's baked beans and I used to hate baked beans. The beans and the pies are full of protein and meat. Love it

I went to this shop for the first time yesterday after driving past it far too many times. I only had two items out of their huge selection, but my mind was blown. I took home a pound of gold medal smoked bacon and 250 grams of pepperjack (I think) jerky. Both meats were mind blowing, and I'll be returning as soon as possible.

Hi Joe, I'm very sorry you had a bad experience. If you could contact us, we would be glad to do something in return for your bad visit. The freezer burn on the packaging could be two reasons 1. possibly be due to improper rotation. As we try to stay on top of it all it doesn't always happen. 2. From time to time we receive products where the packs are blown the day we receive them from our supplier. We will make sure to stay on proper rotation, and have a talk with our supplier. We don't package or cut the bison in house, we receive it prepackaged like that from our supplier. Thanks for the feedback
