Recently, I did some work in Kamloops and went to Papa G’s for breakfast while I waited for my student to complete a road test. When you walk in the front door, the first thing you will notice is the smell...that smell of good food, great service and the comfort of people who care. I ordered eggs and bacon: The bacon was crispy, the grated potatoes golden brown, and the over-easy eggs perfect. The rye toast was thick and tasty – not that bulk bread that everyone feeds to the pigeons at the park. All parts of the meal were piping hot. The meal, with coffee and a 15% tip cost less than $10. The next day, I returned– this time for lunch. I’m particular about my hamburgers, and I would like to say that Papa G’s has made the top three of places where I would order a hamburger. Again, the meal was simple, tasty and satisfying. The french fries were crispy, hot, and homemade; the burger, simple, elegant and tasty. And lunch with coffee and tip was less than $15. I learned from Gerald, the owner, that he made his own hamburgers, pot pies and soups. As well, he has a wide variety of items on the menu that are gluten free. While I was there, Tara my server, personally delivered french fries to a customer in the office next door – now that’s service. If you’re every in Kamloops, and looking for that great diner experience, stop by Papa G’s - look for the balloons out front!

Great classic diner breakfast. The pancakes are REALLY fluffy but not heavy, solid breakfast sandwich similar to White Spot (tasty!), and delicious Benny! The Benny was real Hollandaise with choices of toppings and sides, I chose a shredded hash but you can get cubed as well. Hashbrowns were light and absolutely not greasy at all. Really large interior so great for social distancing, cool, spacious booths. Takes cards and cash. Quick, friendly service. You can see the kitchen from outside which is always fun.

I had lasagna, probably the most tasteless lasagna I've ever had. Service was super slow and the waitress was ignorant. She just walked away when my friend tried to have his garlic bread swapped because it was burnt to a crisp. Would not recommend this place.

Ordered from mitchies on my mother’s account and half the order wasn’t there, called the owner and he said that he read the bill wrong and would have it over, we only live a few blocks away and are still waiting at an hour now but the best part is they closed half an hour ago and are no longer answering the phone, so I guess I better go figure out dinner

Went to Papa G's for the first time tonight and I am happy to report that we were VERY impressed. I loved my dinner, the kids loved their dinners (not an easy feat), and I am completely shocked that my ever discerning British husband gave the Fish 'n Chips a thumbs up. Well done Papa G's!

Breakfast here was great! I had the pancakes and bacon, and my friend had the eggs Benedict with bacon. We both enjoyed our meals, and the price was very reasonable! The coffee was awesome too. I'll be back for sure.

I got the fish and chips and they were great. The decor inside was dated and the lone employee working wasn't the most welcoming. No smile. Just "what are you having". Maybe he had a bad day. I would go back because the food was that good.

So I ordered spaghetti and meatballs to go. Got home and it was bolognese. Hmmm. I really wanted the meatballs but the bolo was ok. Pasta was nicely cooked and the garlic bread was REALLY good. ordering take out is an awkward dance because the entry is narrow. Nothing can be done about that but a little crowd control by staff would be helpful. It is not their fault that people coming into the restaurant can be ignorant about physical distance, but they can set up procedures that are more obvious and compliant. There are lots of vegetarian options but I doubt a vegan could eat here.

Picked up Beef Dips to go a couple of weeks ago and they were delicious! Tonight we tried the Bacon burger and the Mushroom Swiss burger, and they did not disappoint ! Pricing is completely fair for the quality and quantity of food. That was REAL roast beef on those Dips, and homemade burgers!! There are so many other items on the menu I’m anxious to try, Papa G’s is definitely going to be a regular stop for us!????????????

Food: A delicious, home style, clean flavour not commonly seen anymore. There burger didn’t taste like sauce it tasted like a clean beef flavour I haven’t found in years. The fish and chips tasted like good fish not batter or oil. Very classic flavours. Customer service: Each time I have eaten there I have gotten exactly what I asked for; extra sauce, no tomato or whatever other customization I asked for was always included. The food is put together with care and attention. Overall: Try it and you will have a new favourite place for lunch.

The food was out really fast and fresh, but the price they charged was a little crazy, myself and husband both got Bacon's Burger's with fries and couple cokes and side gravy also had deep fried pickles to start and the bill was $50+ dollars after tip was closer to $60. I appreciate the fresh food the price I could do with out I found the burger to be very bland. I will not be going back just due to the price and the flavour not being there.

My wife and I ate at Papa G's tonight and it was sadly one of the worst meals I have ever had. The lasagna was passable. But my wife's spaghetti was awful with meatballs that tasted like sawdust. I've had their breakfast to go before and it was wonderful so this really took me by surprise. On top of the food the service was awful. Even though we were dinning in our food was dropped off at our table in to-go containers. You have to pay upfront and that just added to the insult. Overall I can't recommend Papa G's.

We stopped by Papa G's today for lunch, and tried the Saskatchewan pizza, I don't think I have ever seen a pizza that big in my life. It was so thick and loaded with meats and cheese, I could only eat 2 pieces. I can say we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Do yourself a favor...get your behind into Papa G's and order the vegetarian pizza, add pepperoni. I promise you...you will not regret it!! <3

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! If you want feel good, great taste, and quick service head over there! I had the BTLC and its was a nice light lunch but was dying for a taste of swiss mushroom burger my boyfriend ordered, holy cow was it ever amazing! Tasted fresh and the juicy patty was seasoned beautifully with a savory smoky flavor. I will definitely be coming back and I'm happy our downtown has gained a great cafe to enjoy!
