Wonderful menu selection. We ordered a diner for 2. There was enough food for 2 adults, 1 child, plus lunch the next day. Drink service was good. Server made good recommendations. Server was attentive and prompt. Food was tastey. Price reflects higher dining, but the dinner for 2 allows you to try a few varieties of dishes more reasonably. I would recommend.

We were traveling through Kamloops and sought out Maurya’s because we love Indian food and the culture so much. We had an awesome experience from the moment we stepped in the door, the service was top notch, our server was attentive, friendly, talked to us about our travels and although we were really full was very persuasive to have us try the rice pudding which sounded tasty. The bar tender was great, he made our daughter a special non alcoholic drink that she loved as well as a great almond apple sour with fresh fennel. The food was not only fast but delicious, we ordered Chana masala, aloo gobi, pakoras, samosas, papadum and naan. Everything was hot and fresh. Definitely recommended to anyone local or traveling through. Lots of Street Parking which was free on Sundays/holidays. Thank you, we will come back next time we travel through for sure :)

Wow, in my 30 years on the planet this is the best Indian food I have ever had. The tastes are so rich, complex and delicious, truly a leap above any other Indian food I have ever tasted. When I picked up my food the gentleman who served me explained that they use real, fresh herbs from India and as soon as I ate the first few bites I could definitely taste the difference. HIGHLY recommend. The restaurant itself is also really gorgeous, they have a beautiful art wall. I look forward to dining in again and again when the restrictions are lifted.

There is not enough kind words I can say about this place but I’ll try! Tonight we went in for my birthday dinner and we started with an appetizer the veggies are fresh and the bread is crispy. We followed it up with some amazing virgin mojitos and to we each had the mango chicken and lamb goan which came with delicious basmati rice. And because it was my birthday I received a complimentary desert that was phenomenal! The service was top notch and the pride they put into their food and the experience was heart warming. This will be my new favourite place to eat! 10/10 recommend but don’t take my word for it go on and try it!

If I could rate it 6 stars I would. This is by far the best food and service and Kamloops. The server is very knowledgeable on the menu and explains the dishes very well with taste, how it is prepped, and even where in India it comes from. The food is prepared fresh and not greasy at all. Had a mango lassi with the meal and found out afterwards that the yogurt for the drink is made in house. Restaurant has been recently renovated and is very comfortable. If your looking for a restaurant in Kamloops to recommended I suggest that it be this one. Can't speak highly enough

Went for lunch today and left full & happy. ???? They have their patio set-up for outdoor dining and it is well spaced out. COVID-19 adjustments and sanitization was perfect. Food was incredible! Between us we had butter chicken, goan chicken, pakoras and their new califlower wings. Everything tasted amazing and spice level for the main dish is customizable (1-5). Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and just overall gave amazing service. Would highly recommend giving them a try!

Had a Five-Star experience at Maurya’s today! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was great! Loved the Butterchicken and Chicken Tikka Masala. The garlic naans reminded me of back home, as they were properly baked in clay oven. The taste and mouthfeel was superb. Another excellent addition was the Jaggery Mint Mojito.

A MUST for anyone looking for excellent service, welcoming ambiance and top quality dining! I have been following Maurya’s on Instagram for a while and meaning to try it! Today was the day. My 8 year old son and I popped by and had an amazing lunch! Butter chicken was creamy and flavourful, the mango lassi was so good we had to order seconds... and the samosa and chutney we unreal! I could drink the tamarind chutney and the samosas were fresh, light and amazing. (Very reasonable prices too) *my son ate so much he had to lay down at the end!

If you want an authentic Indian dining experience this is the place to come. Excellent meals made from scratch with expertise. Even the yoghurt and paneer are handmade. The service is great and the servers will gladly explain the dishes to you. I love that you can choose how spicy you want your food to be and they are quick to answer any questions about their ingredients. My new favorite Indian restaurant.

This used to be my favorite restaurant as a student. The food was always very good and authentic. We visited again after several years of living in other cities and all I can say is that I'm disappointed. While the service was good, we found it to be a little pushy towards the drinks. The prices have gone way higher than other great Indian restaurants we visit. Worst of all, the food was just... Not good. It seems like they have stopped marinating a lot of their meats before cooking, and the sauces are heavy on the cream and light on the flavor. It's obvious this place has gotten lazy and complacent. Whatever changes you've been gradually making over the years, hoping people won't notice, just stop. We notice. This restaurant is not what it used to be. Underwhelming.

The best Indian food not only in Kamloops but also in Canada. They go above and beyond to make your experience excellent and memorable. The food was really delicious and it was real Indian taste. The service was also magnificent, they make you feel very special. If you ever travel from Vancouver , you must try this restaurant!!!!! Disappointed by the naans. I had ordered butter naans and the same was confirmed by the restaurant but there wasn't even a drop of butter on it. The naans also had a slight sour taste, the kind you get when there's too much yeast in bread. Not very appetizing at all, and this is coming from a bread lover who eats naan just buy itself at times. I've ordered from here before and have not had issues, so I'm hoping that this was just a one-off episode.

Rarely am I so impressed! This restaurant offers all of the qualities which I expect to receive and rarely do in today’s climate. Above excellent service, responsiveness and attentiveness. Delicious, creative and dishes custom tailored to our requests. Beautifully prepared food, to the authenticity of the family cooking it (India is vast with literally every town having its own unique flavours, but alas most places simply copy the standard expected in the west!) So tasting a restaurant which is striking out into new territory and also providing exquisite cuisine is such a treat! When asked to give a 1-10 rating of the multiple meals I have enjoyed here, I can immediately give a 12! Anushka, her mother and father, and all the staff are incredibly professional, in touch with their customers needs and respectful. The creative nature of the food means you will taste things here that you may not find anywhere else on the planet! A final note, as a frequent diner in many many places, that openness that feedback is received and requested is a very rare treat. Often offering advice on improving a meal is met with cold distain, but at Maurya’s every customers thoughts are listened to and thankfully received. I am deeply appreciative to know that this kind of space is offered to the Kamloops area and this is the same service I want to give all the customers of my own business! I hope to visit here every time I am in town!

The taste is phenomenal... balanced flavors on the palette, drink suggestions that compliment the food. This is a place of harmony and happiness. We went here for my dad's birthday this past week. I booked a reservation through their website and received a confirmation text. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Atul and Priti (sorry if I have spelled those incorrectly). They were such lovely hosts - Atul ensured that my dad would receive a special treat for his birthday and Priti helped us choose four delicious dishes. Overall the food was great, the service was even better. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We ordered from Maurya’s for the first time tonight and we were very impressed with everything about our meal. We have had good Indian food in Kamloops, but I don’t think we knew what we were missing until now. We ordered the hot option and I can’t imagine what extra hot would have been like. Which, to us, is a compliment. The food had a home made flavour about it and, as a bonus, the amount of chicken was great. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

My friend and I who are not Indian went there yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The server Atul was kind, patient and helpful in selecting the dishes, in spite of the fact they were almost closing we got full attention. He answered our questions about the ingredients of the food in detail and we ordered veggie pakoras, as well as goan chicken + lamb with basmati rice and a side of spinach naan bread. Just typing all of this makes me hungry again as it was delicious: the freshness, richness of sauces and authenticity of the cooking is something that the restaurant can be proud of. It’s challenging to make orders feel like home cooked meals yet Maurya’s do just that, and on top of all make you feel at home. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their cuisine!

The Valentines dinner special was wonderful. We were greeted by name and taken to a lovely romantic nook! The spice level was perfect allowing us to enjoy all the flavours of each dish. The lamb special was so tasty and paired perfectly with the Cabernet chosen. The service was lovely and this family run restaurant is an outstanding choice for Indian food in downtown Kamloops!

The restaurant stayed open late (after close time) for our group. We had a 16 person group, and the service for each and every person was superb. They really care about their customers. With every request there was a certain type of hastiness that you can appreciate. We are from the States, and we went to the restaurant during the 2016 NBA Finals game 7 and they immediately catered to our needs, and changed the channel for us. The food was ABOVE and BEYOND! Meat was cooked to perfections and the vegetarian was also very tasty!

I don't even know where to begin! My partner and I went to Maurya's for our anniversary and this family owned establishment delivered a delicously cultural experience. The smashed simosas with chutney was one of the best things my mouth has ever experienced and the 'creative' cocktails are not to be missed, I recommend the smoky old fashion. Also - if you are on the plant-based train, they have TONS of options for vegans. We indulged in the vegan dinner special for two. Inspired by Indian Street Food culture, Maurya's delivered a memorable experience, again and again.

My husband was really craving this one particular Indian dish. We googled it online to see who serves it in Kamloops, and heard great reviews of this particular dish at Maurya's, which we had never been to. Unfortunately, when we looked at the menu, it wasn't there. I called and asked about it and the server checked with the chef-and told me the chef would be happy to make it for us! An hour later, we were sitting down in the nice atmosphere of Maurya's, eating just the thing we hoped for! The staff went above & beyond! I hear they have a special menu for Valentine's coming up as well that looks amazing! We'll definitely be back soon! Can't recommend it highly enough! Oh-and I love that they use locally sourced food, and cook from scratch! No food sensitivity reactions here! Thank you so much!

The service was fantastic. The food was even better. We had the pakora and the cauliflour wings. The dips were fantastic. I had the number 4 heat level dip made in house from hot chilli's, loved it. Didn't take any photos, next time I will. Don't forget to try the mojite with mint, wow. Will go back for sure.

Highly NOT Recommended!!!! I am not sure how this place is rated 4 star. Visited 2 days ago with my husband and a friend on our way to Vancouver. To begin with, we asked for coke without ice. The server didn't follow it and got coke with ice. This was still okay, because I understand that people forget, but when we asked for one without ice, they manually removed the ice and got the same coke back. How would be trust this especially given the pandemic. Moving on to the food which was crazy spicy that we could not eat even one bite without having water. We asked the server to replace it. They gave us the same curry, I think after adding a little bit of cream, and it was spicy. Let me emphasize that we were all Indians with very high tolerance to spicy food and still it was too spicy for us. I am not a complainer when it comes to food, but this food was just not acceptable. Overall the most unrecommended place for Indian food for any food for that matter.

The customer service was excellent from when I ordered over the phone to the delivery to the hotel. The restaurant was so considerate, they brought plates and cutlery in case I didnt have any. The food was amazing! It is pricy, but the portions are huge and rice is included. Would definitely order from here again!

Our party of 6 famished hikers arrived just before closing. We were greeted by the most engaging server, whose recommendations were excellent. All dishes had superb flavor, and you could chose the degree of hotness you preferred. Our personal favorites were the fish pakoras - so tender and melt in your mouth, and the lamb biryani, with large chunks of tender lamb. Their mojito drink speciality was tasty - with an added bonus of jaggery (indian sugar), made to the degree of sweetness you wanted. I hate to admit this, but we had 8 different kinds of naan bread! We wanted to try some different flavors, so we had one of everything! Garlic, spinach, blue cheese, potato, coconut - you get the picture! Our server kindly cut each into 6 pieces so we could have a taste of all! Needless to say, we were happily stuffed and took the leftovers with us. Highly recommend this lovely family run restaurant!

My husband, my mother and myself came for a late evening dinner and were blown away by how good everything was. We had a number of dishes and each was unique and flavourful, everything really stood out. The spice levels were perfect and the blue cheese naan was such a treat. We each had one of their custom hand mixed drinks as well which were absolutely delicious, each was customized to our individual sweetness levels. They only used fresh juices and the drinks were so unique because of it - they were perfect. Staff was super attentive and helpful, they made great recommendations on our preferences and guided us trying a bunch of new things which is such a great experience with food we’re not used to. Prices were great for the quality and quantity of food we got and we will most definitely be back.

Wow! Me and my boyfriend went to Maurya’s tonight for the first time ever, and it was the best service we’ve honestly ever had. The food was fantastic, authentic and carefully prepared. And the service was truly an experience, not just regular service. One of our servers even asked us what kind of cocktails we enjoyed & made a custom drink for each up us that catered to our individual palates. He explained the whole process and all the ingredients he infused that were traditionally used in Indian cocktails! Will be coming back here again and often, could not recommend enough. Our new favourite restaurant in Kamloops!

I absolutely loved eating here and will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends. The patio is in a great location along Victoria and will be a fantastic spot in the summer. You can taste the quality in the food because of the fresh ingredients. The Spinach naan bread surprisingly good and so was the service, our waiter was super kind and knew the menu like the back of his hand. I went to Maura's today with a friend for lunch. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was Delicious. I brought the leftovers home and added in Samosas to have for my dinner tonight. So glad we visited Maurya's for New Year' Eve dinner, this family owned restaurant has a fairly priced menu and they guided us to choose a perfect feast for a special night. I highly recommend the fish and chips as appetizer and the garlic naan for the curry dishes. Their seasonal draft was an IPA and it paired well with the spicy food - we mostly ordered level 3/5 for heat and it was ok for average humans lol. If you go with people that can take more I highly recommend going at least 4/5. Although the food is delicious, the service and energy is what makes this place really special.

We are from out of town and wanted some Indian food for the night. We had 6 different meals and 10 different drinks, and everything was a 10/10! The drinks are so thoughtful and delicious. Almost every ingredient is made in house or local and having been a cocktail bartender for a long time, they were all very well balanced in flavor with specialties for anyone's specific tastes! We weren’t in a big rush so didn’t mind if the food took a wee bit longer to come . Server was good about letting us know how long it would take . Decided to try out a new Indian restaurant tonight since Kamloops has quite a few and was disappointed. The butter chicken tasted like soapy dish water. It was very watery, and literally looked like tomato pasta sauce. Not creamy at all. Not to mention all of our food was room temperature by the time we got it. The reason for the tepid food? Delivery took an hour and twenty minutes. We ordered way after the dinner rush, so I don't know why this happened. The delivery person also seemed irritated that I had called the restaurant to follow up on my order after waiting an hour. Ended up not eating any of the food after plating and trying a few bites. Definitely not worth the $40 we ended up paying. Do not recommend.

I have tried mostly all Indian restaurants in kamloops like , zaika , Nandi, raj, spice , koohinoor, mostly all but today I decided to try muarya ... but not satisfied with their food ... I have order fish pakora .... which way over batter and too much food colour was not marinated bcz I did not test the ajwain in that ... and it should be serve with mint sauce but they gave me tamarind sauce .... I think kamloops really need professinal restaurants or professinal cooks here ... all over not happy with the food ....

Wow what a great experience! I was early for my nail appointment so I thought I would grab a bite to eat and I found the best Indian food in town! They have happy hour from 2-4 and 8-close I believe so my meal was about 4$ less. I ordered the Goan chicken and it was amazing!! It was presented beautifully. coconut was sprinkled on top of a huge portion of chicken and a perfect coconut cream curry. The naan is fired in a terracotta style oven so it’s crispy, flakey, light and soft all at the same time. The rice was not sticky or starchy at all. I also ordered a sunset margarita and it was a perfect touch to a great meal! Definitely have to try this place! I list my other google account so I’m looking foreword to starting to review restaurants again with this account and Covid easing off! Cheers

I had a craving for butter chicken and was trying to use Doordash to place an order. For whatever reason my bank, unbeknownst to me, had put a hold on the card for a fraud check (probably because we had never used food delivery services). After much frustration, and about to give up for a fast food drive thru, Atul told me he could deliver as long as I had photo ID. With lightning speed he arrived at the hotel door with the most delicious meal of butter chicken, nan bread and iced tea. Card cleared with no issue and one hangry woman was soon calm and fed. Thank you, Atul :) Will be happy to dine in when the craziness of Covid is in the rearview mirror.

I was just stopping by overnight after long hours of driving and many more to come in the next few days when I was craving indian food. Luckily I walked by Maurya's! It was 8:29pm when I walked in (they usually close at 8:30) and they managed to squeeze in a take out for me and my family! We had butter chicken, tikka masala chicken, and chicken biryani. It was SO tasty! We have tried numerous indian restaurants but this one really surprised us. Very friendly staff who took time to explain the menu and cooked extraordinary good food. I 100% recommend this place! You will leave the place with a smile on your face and a full belly!

I am so surprised at the last review I read. I don't live in town but had seen a friend's post with food that looked delicious and had to ask where they were eating. We were in town yesterday and got the chance to try it out. Everything was amazing. We ordered fish and chips that were to die for, the fish tasted fresh battered and the chips were hand sliced cooked and seasoned, naan bread perfectly crisped, medium mango chicken amazzzing and if anything I figured it would be a bit spicier but glad it wasn't as we also got the hot and spicy wings... Which were very spicy EXACTLY like we expected. I look forward to bringing a friend.

I showed up on time and they asked what my order was and said they made a mistake on one and had to remake it... when I received my order it was as if they were both just made, making me believe they had forgot my order in the first place. We had an excellent time at Maurya’s. The food was outstanding. We had pakora, lamb, chicken, raita and aloo paranthe. All fantastic, homemade and, authentic. We also had several cocktails, I really loved the sunset margarita but, make it a double! The restaurant was extremely clean and, the service was too notch. The server was knowledgeable and, made great recommendations. I would recommend this place in a minute, especially since you can pick your own spice level. I did 4, which they consider ‘Indian Hot’ and, it was legitimately hot af which I loved.

We enjoyed a real treat this afternoon at Maurya's. We visited for dine in service during happy hour (2 - 4pm & 8 to close) and had a wonderful meal with exceptional service. The atmosphere is modern and hip with Indian artwork for colour. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our server (who wore a face shield) at this family operated local business was very professional and gracious, expressing appreciation for our support during the reopening phase of the economy. We ordered a local craft beer brewed a block away at Red Collar and a fresh Mango Ladi made with homemade yogourt - delicious! For starters we had Veggie Samosas with Mango chutney and tamarind sauce and the signature fish and chips. Everything was piping hot and scrumptious. We will definately bring friends back to try the fish - it was melt in your mouth good. For our main entry we had the vegetable korma, aloo chana, and yellow dal served with rice and plenty of naan. We had more than enough to take home for a second meal (in containers I brought along for that purpose). Maurya's staff certainly go the extra mile to provide delicious meals and wonderful service. We will return and I recommend following this business on Facebook or Instagram. Menu available online.

My husband and I were waiting for a supper reservation down the street and stopped in to have a drink to pass the time. We entered the restaurant and were greeted and seated right away, the owner proceeded to tell us about his special drinks and that the feature today was his spin on a Caesar.He talked us into trying it and to say the least the flavours and garnishes Shrimp/chicken wing spices) added were amazing! We ordered a little appetizer of 2 samosas and the serving was larger than we anticipated and the mango chutney and sweet dip were both delicious! Once we were ready to pay and leave they presented us with an Indian brown rice pudding to take back to our hotel and try. We left wishing we had stayed there for supper as the hospitality was top notice and very relaxing. If you ever get to Kamloops please try them out!

I went to Maurya's today for the first since they re-opened for dine-in. They've really changed it up inside...it looks really nice. I had two of their newer items today, the Blue Cheese Naan and the Indian style fish and chips. You could definitely taste the blue cheese which is what I wanted. Served up nice and hot and gooey. The fish and chips were also great. It was fish pakoras served with fresh house made potato chips, with a side of mint chutney. The service was wonderful as well. Very attentive.

Amazing service, food and drinks! Had the butter chicken, aloo gobi and yellow dal for two to share and we had leftovers. You can choose the heat level out of 5. Delicious mango ice cream and lassi! The bartender was very nice and made us delicious drinks. The drinks were amazing and delicious, skip the dishes was in and out picking up the whole time I was there, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was PHENOMENAL!! I asked for hot and it was the perfect amount of hot. I was told that if anything isn't right it will be made again for me. I can't recommend this place enough. It is my new favourite place to eat. I normally enjoy papadam, but it is a little boring...their take with the masala papad (think eastern nacho) was fantastic. The lamb was tender and tasty. I don't like paneer, but gave it another try...so yummy. I want to try everything on the menu and probably will!! I walked out stuffed and have leftovers...didn't break the bank either.

This is a great East Indian Restaurant! Their lunch time buffet is so filling and delicious. Don't come near the end of it though, or it doesn't taste as fresh. The staff keep to themselves and aren't very chatty, but that's fine because I don't like to be disturbed while I'm eating with company. The prices are fair for what you get. I grew up in Kamloops, and I’m proud of it — even prouder to see locally owned and operated businesses thrive and offer a product to be enjoyed and saluted, even in these tough times. My wife and I craved some Indian food today, and I suggested Maurya’s; it couldn’t have been a better decision. We were greeted at the door by Anushka, and were struck immediately by her friendliness, as well as the neatness of the restaurant. Turns out we were the first to sit in a freshly renovated section. The next hour or so was spent enjoying some amazing Indian cuisine (spicy as you want it; I like it spicy, my wife not so much, so I ordered a side-dish of spice to heat things up up), and chatting with the quite delightful Anushka, her uncle Atul and, finally, chef/owner Dilip Maurya. In addition to the amazing food, the level of professionalism and friendliness added to my pride that this business has managed to pull through the pandemic, thanks to the support of the city. It is well-earned support. I know these have been tough times in the hospitality industry, and the Maurya family has contributed mightily to helping people cope with these strange days. My thanks to the entire staff of Maurya’s — we’ll be back, soon.

the food is great, the people are friendly, and the restaurant is nicely painted. they gave us lots to eat and made us some nice mixed drinks with no alcohol to have something instead of pop. maurya's is beautiful, check it out.
