Not worth the price, wait time too long and service bad. Barley any chicken, no gravy or cheese curds in chicken shawarma poutine. No other shawarma place charges extra for garlic sauce.

Updating my review today, after my experience on nov 1, got back after the owner apologized and offered me another shawarma. I'm giving them 4 starts for the whole experience, specially the hospitality and customer service. And yes today was not salty and i got to taste the shawarma lol. Nov1 ???? "Salty salty salty salty!!!!, the worst chicken shawarma ever!!! Could not go more than 2 bites, thats a high blood pressure bomb !!! I also asked for a spicy shawarma , not spicy at all. I don't recommend going there ????"

Went to this Lebanese restaurant for the first time last night and it is one of my new favourites. Ordered the chicken (breast) skewer and white rice. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be dining here again.

My man Muhammad hooked me up with a jumbo chicken shawarma and a platter. Surprisingly fresh and rich food quality made my day. And after all that i happened to talk about falafel, and Muhammad goes in cooks a bunch of falafels and hands them to me with a smile saying its on the house thanks for eating here. I was like ????????????????. Preciate it Shish shawarma. I will come eat there soon again???????? keep up the great service.

Fantastic, fresh and juicy shawarma! Fair prices and a good spot. I enjoy their patio to. I would REALLY appreciate if the employees were more professional. When my boyfriend and I first walked in they were whispering to each other and looking at us, then when I went alone one of them asked for my number after more whispering and laughing. A bit uncomfortable.

One of the more authentic places to serve Mediterranean food in Edmonton. This food reminds me of home all too well. Their shawarma plates are served with a hefty number of side dishes including hummus, rice, pickles, and salad. Their vegetarian dishes are so succulent and filling. Try the cauliflower and eggplant side dish! To top off the whole experience, the staff are friendly and approachable.

People in front of my ordered and got their food within 5 mins. I was waiting for 30 + mins before I finally went up and talked to them. They said for me to wait. But I seen people who ordered after me still getting served. Eventually I just left the place without my order. Awful.

Went there this after noon to pick up a couple chicken shawarma wraps and a couple of containers of garlic sauce..well the manager was very friendly and when I got home ate a sandwich and it was so good! Used some of extra garlic sauce and it was so fluffy! Was nice to see that they took my past suggestion on their garlic sauce and now I could really taste the garlic! I wanted to eat it by the spoon full!! Please do not change how you make it!!

Got shish platters and shawarma platters. Food was excellent - best Lebanese in the city and portions are generous. Owners are hospitable. Plus located in great part of city to just sit and enjoy! Will be back!!

The family and I ate here tonight and we were so pleased with our meal! We had three plates and one pita wrap. I’d suggest getting plates over the wrap, the serving sizes can be easily stretched into two equal meals. We couldn’t finish them in one sitting. The falafel was crispy on the outside but soft and hot on the inside. Best garlic sauce I’ve ever had in my LIFE. 100% recommend. It took 20ish minutes to get our food after we ordered so be prepared to wait patiently. It seemed like only one guy serving 10 people during the time we were there.

Unfortunately had a bad experience here. I specially told the person their that it was my first time, as I was told they had good wraps. He didn’t ask us which veggies we wanted inside the wraps, nor which sauces. He called us when he finished the wraps and said everything was good. I didn’t want to make a fuss and took his word for it. Almost inedible. The meat was dry, old and unseasoned for both the beef and chicken wraps. He either purposely had them horrible or he cannot cook chicken or beef at all. Inconsistent. Definitely won’t be back.

Had a team lunch with colleagues at work and we chose La Shish for the halaal option. The restaurant looked really impressive from the outside and the inside was good too but a tad bit small. The staff were warm but not overly accommodating (this is somewhat expected when you've had a somewhat busy day). Had my first taste of hummus and it tasted nice. I ordered the Alberta Lamb trio and it was quite filling. Meal is worthy of a 5-star rating, but I feel service could be improved on.

First time going here. Ordered beef shawarma with their original sauce. The beef was overcooked and hard in places and the sauce tasted very tart and almost rancid. Will not go back.

My falafel was so bloody dry and overdone that it cut the roof of my mouth and was tasteless. The filling was sparse and tasted like it was on the verge of spoiling. In addition to this, my french fries tasted like oil from a deep fryer that hasn’t been changed in awhile. My side of gravy was lumpy, chunky and ice cold (I dipped my finger in it in shock). There’s absolutely no way you can explain giving a customer a cup of refrigerated coagulated gravy and bland, overdone falafel. I will never come back.

I was heading in to get my schwarma about 3 years ago and I helped this old lady get into the restaurant. She went to go order and took out some change , it was all the money she had. She said “what can I eat for this”. Her hands were shaking and my heart melting. I spoke up and offered to buy her whatever she wanted . The owner was running the till and he said “no sir, I got this”. He made this nice old lady a wrap with some veg and meat. She was so happy to eat it and it brought tears to my eyes. Been going here regularly ever since . Just remembered this story and had to leave a long overdue review! Brought tears to my eyes. Good food and good people running it. I try to order and pick up directly from them so they don’t have to give 20% of their profits to skip or Uber. Love supporting this place .

That is real Shawarma. Had heard it was a good place to eat from a few coworkers. But, I never expected it to be that good. Came in on a cold night when the wife and I couldn't decide what to eat. This place was the right choice. 10/10 will be going again

Delicious... I are too much. The food here was delicious with very generous portions. Echoing other reviews... You have to try the garlic sauce, we bought extra to take home. Although I think the restaurant caters a lot to bar crowds and the interior is small ( 4 tables, 20 seats total) with skip the dishes and take out this is a place everyone should try. It isn't polished or gimmicky, just really good fresh food.

Some of the best shawarma I've experienced, somehow beating out Toronto and Vancouver mainstays. They manage to nail the balance of richness, garlic, pickled goodness, and lemon, and the result is a sinfully good shawarma. Just don't go in here expecting or, god forbid, asking for Donair. These guys are obviously sick of the comparison, and the two are not much alike aside from featuring spit roast meat in a pita!

Ordered food for the entire family and it did not disappoint! From the rice, to the chicken and beef kebabs, fatoush salad, potatoes, hummus, garlic and tahini sauce it was all phenomenal! Portion sizes were big, and everything tasted perfect! The Elmayergi family will definitely be ordering Shish Shawarma again, a new go to restaurant!
