We cater from them on a regular basis for work events and they're known for their cookies (made from scratch) and I love their rice and chicken skewers. Today i went in for my own lunch and got a roast beef sandwich on rye, a chicken curry soup and some cookies and wow, everything tasted amazing and i was a bit skeptical about getting the curry chicken soup but they insisted it was really good and they were so right. So far I've never known them to ever serve anything that wasn't super fresh and good. Definitely going back for more regular lunches!

Also, I can not believe it: it's been a long time since I felt like I was getting my money's worth. Brand jellyfish priced crazy, it's yours that I speak. La qualité de leur café, leur espresso surtout, est excellente et, croyez-moi, je ne bois que ça et suis plutôt difficile en la matière. Avez-vous gouté à leurs biscuits frais sortis du four? J'en salive, rien que d'y penser! Ils font le déjeuner sous vos yeux et ouvrent tôt. Aussi, je n'en reviens pas: ça fait longtemps que je n'ai pas eu l'impression d'en avoir pour mon argent. Marque à la méduse aux prix de fou, c'est à toi que je parle. Bref, ce café est un petit bijou dans un univers de béton.

Love this establishment, fresh food prepared daily, in the mornings. Head chef Dan is amazing at his craft, and the staff are wonderful. You can't go wrong here with the different daily lunch specials. Oh yeah and the cookies are to die for!!

The breakfast here is pretty good and the lunch menu changes every day so the quality ranges from absolutely delicious to 'hold-your-nose-and-eat-it-because-you-paid-for-it'. The staff is very friendly and I often recommend this as the best place to get breakfast in the Ottawa downtown area, however it doesn't have a lot of meaningful competition.

Sweet café downtown. Tasty food options and great customer service. Every time I have been here, despite the lunch rush, the staff would take their time to package the food/treats nicely. Food options are simple: sandwiches, pasta, soup, panini, muffins, cookies, brownies, etc. There isn't anything too fancy about this this place, but when you walk in, you're welcomed with warm servce.

i LOVE this place. I worked downtown for almost 10 years and I went there regularly the whole time. The staff are SO friendly, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. It feels like a home cooked meal among friends and family. And definitely get a cookie! :)

My wife ordered delivery today instead of our usual take out. The meals arrived frozen with cooking instructions on top. I was worried I would not like the Moroccan chicken as it has a sweeter smell but it was soooooo good- not sweet at all and very flavorful. Lots of chicken, carrots and chickpeas. It would also be good with cauliflower in it. We also ordered the green curry. Very tasty- I wish it was a bit spicier but I added sriracha and it was perfect. We will be ordering more of these to keep in our freezer as an alternative to take out. We also ordered some granola as it is an excellent price- tastes like honey and cinnamon- very very good and excellent value.

Good food and decent prices! Only thing I wouldnt get is the taco salad that they often have on special. There's always a puddle of grease at the bottom because of the ground beef which they never strain before putting on the lettuce. I stopped getting it but like the other food I have gotten here.

I really like this café. The atmosphere is exactly what I look for in a café. You can read here and study (but with no outlets). They have Timothy's coffee which is yummy, and a comfortable seating area. I really like that they have coffee mugs and lactose-free cream, and little flowers on the tables. One of my favourite places to go in the morning to be alone and read with coffee.

They catered a lunch event I was at. There was chicken that was barely flavoured like rosemary and wasn't particularly well prepared, bland rice, some veggies, and salad. One of the platters had toppings that seemed to make it seem like this was a greek inspired meal, but there was no greek dressing to go with it, just balsamic or ranch. Overall, everything was fairly bland. Can't say I would recommend their catering services.

Lovely spot. I work downtown and it's my favourite place to go. Best rice crispy squares and French fries (just as good as chip wagon fries!). The owner is absolutely wonderful and remembers everyone. The staff are super friendly too. Can't recommend it enough!

Wow. That about sums this place up. My colleagues took me for lunch here the other day and I got the club sandwich, it was fresh and very delicious. I usually leave home in a rush and don't always have time to make breakfast so I have been looking for a local place that makes fresh food, that is open early. After discovering this place and having the amazing club sandwich, I decided to try the breakfast. I ordered the BK wrap, which comes with a small coffee for only $6.77 after tax !? Needles to say, It was amazing. The coffee was fresh and the wrap even fresher. The beyond reasonable price and the friendly staff was just the cherry on top. If you work in the downtown core, and are looking for some homemade food, I highly recommend Cafe Deluxe. As a wonderful bonus, this Cafe is locally owned! Try it. You will NOT be disappointed.

An Excellent stop close to Parliament Hill. Their cookies are deliciously made and perfect take aways. Fish and Chips on Friday - arguably the best in the immediate area and better than most 'fish and chips' pubs on Elgin. Service friendly and efficient. A good place to sit and recharge.

Food's pretty good but it all depends on who's working the cash. I had a great experience just getting lunch to go, they were accommodating to my diet, very friendly and even offered me a cookie. I got the breakfast to go another time and it wasn't as pleasant a visit. Wasn't worth the price or trouble.

A little confusing when you first walk in. Not a standard line up - just go to the station you want to order from and skip ahead to pay. Had the fish&chips (which I don't usually order) and it was delicious! My coworkers often go for lunch and are always pleased. Always gluten free options available!

The place is very clean and very well ran. Everything I've tasted was good to great. The food is fresh and the put the effort to make it look good and taste good. If you like cookies, they have an excellent selection. And this is a very affordable place.

I needed to grab a quick bite, as I was sick of Subway. I googled close by restaurants and decided on this. I am glad I did! This place is really great. I ordered a sandwich that had such fresh ingredients, I was convinced it was the best sandwich I ever had. I am a picky eater, so I believe that is saying a lot. You can order many basic sandwiches there, and they have many different choices for soups and salads. Their French fries were chip truck style and were salted to perfection. I will be returning to try their cookies, which I heard from my office were excellent. No more stupid Subway for me. Might be pricey for some, as a sandwich, fries and a drink (vitamin water) came to about $12. But I pay for quality, and to me, this was worth it. I believe that they have many other dishes there, so check the website.

I Love the people at Cafe Deluxe! The owner is so nice and all her staff are just wonderful...her food is always freshly made, and it is also quite affordable. They are one of the rare places in the downtown core to offer a full breakfast too. They always have gluten free options and they are very aware of and always more than accommodating to people with Celiac..I would highly recommend anyone to come and check out Cafe Deluxe for breakfast or lunch any day!
