Went there with my husband and had an extremely bad experience with this Indian girl who was at the front. She came out of the kitchen with a mouthful of food chewing in front of us and had a very bad attitude to be in customer service. Will never go there. Won’t recommended anybody to go. Good luck!

I love Indian cuisine and seek out Indian restaurants wherever I go. Found myself in Hope, BC recently,so thought I'd give Sakoon a bash. First glances do not do this restaurant justice. There are cobwebs dangling from the signage and the window's haven't been washed since Gandhi was a baby. Entered with a lot of trepidation. The food however was delightful and authentic-one of the best lamb vindaloo's I have ever had-my wife had the mango chicken and it was an explosion of flavours. The garlic naan bread was the best I have eaten at any Indian restaurant bar none-I'm still salivating over them. In short-if you are an Indian food fan-do not miss out on this one.

Excellent food. Wonderful service that was pleasantly engaging. We were encouraged to sit and converse after our meal was finished. They went as far as to give us a complimentary desert sample. Very happy and we will return.

Worst food they server and worst customer service they do provide. The Indian guy talks in such a creepy language and has no idea of customer service. The quality of food they serve is completely garbage. I ordered malai kofta and taste so bad one full size plate with just 2 balls. And when we tell about this the owner start yelling at us. This is the only food quality we provide its up to you and you have to pay for it any how bla bla bla. Highly recommend find other options before visiting. And funny thing They will teach how Indian food taste and look like to cover their mistakes despite the fact i am eating the food from last 23 years and have trier almost every restaurant in lower midland ????. Restaurant is well decorated. Proper arrangement for sitting. Serving staff( girl) is good too. The way she served us. But the language of owner and quality and taste of food is worst than garbage.

Sadly we didn't get to eat here - even though the sign says that they open for lunch at 11:30 the restaurant was locked up and dark. I tried calling a few times to check the hours but no one ever answered. My feeling is that it may just be open during the evening, so we will try again another time.

Worst experience ever The manager doesn't have any sense how to talk with customers. He's an Indian and he says that all non indian people love their food. Got to know why Because they don't know how indian food looks like and tastes like. I wish I could have given it a zero If they keep on doing like this , this place will close down soon. Waiting for the ego for manager to get destroyed. Worst food , ordered chana masala and got a small bowl of that with chana nearly invisible when we said we don't want to eat . He started arguing that you have to pay for the food . No standards set for the food quality and quantity. These 16 dollars that we had to pay for nothing will cost you much more than that sir. Never go here They're degradaing indian food and Indian's image.

I would give this zero but I cannot. Went there for the first time ever on thanks giving to order a pick up but this slim Canadian-Indian girl/lady was out right rude. I told her that she was rude and responded with a ‘Whatever’ in a I don’t give a sh*t manner. The place was empty and in a matter of half a minute I felt that we had disturbed the peace of the place and were unwelcome. As I am writing this review from outside the restaurant there was another family that walked in and came out in a manner of 60 seconds with the same experience. Will never come back. Worst ever Indian restaurant experience. Edit: Went to this place after walking out of here called Hanky’s just about 5 mins away and had an amazing experience there. I wouldn’t mind driving from Surrey to Hope just to eat at Hanky’s.

Worst ever experience. Not Indian food at all. Food was uncooked. Meat was raw. Container was half full. No quantity No quality. Gravy was too thin as like just throw the vegetable and meat. On top of that, rude customer service. I will never go there again.????????????

Fantastic Indian food! Favorite restaurant in Hope; Sakoon is a local treasure and by far the best food option for anyone traveling between Vancouver and the Interior. I'm a hungry dude who loves eating great Indian on a regular basis, and this place is the real deal. I've been here many times, and this place is always awesome! I feel a lot of the negative reviews are being way too picky or frankly trying to be negative without justification. This is authentic, delicious, down-home cooking. Solid portions. Excellent menu selection including simpler vegetarian / vegan options along with awesome meat dishes. And, of course, wonderful people and great service. Favorite dish: salmon curry!

In Old Hotel pretty drab needs updated look atmosphere ok waitress was good Its okay food small amounts very Expensive A La Carte style pricing like rice and naan bread not included in butter chicken menu item you have to pay separately where other Indian Restaurants I have had these items included The service was good but it Was not busy when we were here at dinner time and 2 other occasions it has been very quiet

Worst Indian food they i have ever had in my life. They served just plain rice with few pieces of mutton as mutton biriyani...no flavour of biriyani at all. Same with other curries i orderd too. This is not the taste of Indian food, please dont go there if you want to experience the real Indian taste. People would really think how bad is Indian food if they have it from here..and worst customer service too..i would give 0 star if i could..really disappointed.

Overall disappointed by the quality. Ordered a butter chicken, palak paneer, and a rice. Total came to $28.00 and some change, reasonable for a dinner for two people. But the flavour was extremely lacking. Butter chicken was very thin, too sweet, and lacked spices.. Palak paneer also was bland and lacking in spices. Portion sizes were reasonable. Overall not impressed... Update: Gave them a second chance, ordered palak paneer and aloo gobi this time. The vegetables were barely chopped and were undercooked! (as in raw) The cauliflower and potato pieces were huge which doesn't allow them to pair properly with rice or naan. The masala was also watery and lacking in flavour. No matter how reasonable $29 for two dishes, a rice and a naan sounds... the quality is just too disappointing. Won't be back. =\

Amazing food. Very nice people, great service. They can be a little spotty with hours since quarantine started, but also very accommodating. The food is absolutely delicious. I order most things medium, but I like a little spice. Mild is barely spicy, mediums got some heat, and hot will probably knock your socks off. Id especially recommend their Butter chicken, the Palak paneer, and their lentil Dahls. The garlic naan is also awesome.

We came in on a Saturday evening at around 6:30, and the place was empty, which makes some sense given the fact that it's in an older hotel and isn't the most inviting to enter. We were greeted by friendly service, and soon, another couple parties had also entered, including a regular couple who were greeted with great enthusiasm - really cool to see! The food was quite good with a solid assortment of options, and our party of four was quite satisfied. My only complaint was that we got some tough bits of onion in our paneer tikka masala, but the other dishes, butter chicken, bangin bharta, and lamb rogan josh, along with our sides of garlic naan and rice, were all excellent.

The management is not friendly when we complained about the food he started arguing back and was not ready to accept that. We ordered some Indian Food and the food was not like it should be. Chana masala was most water with hardly any Chana(chickpeas) in it. It was a very bad experience for us. Would not recommend anyone to go there.
