Get the "More Wanton"! It's delicious!!! BBQ Beef, Shrimp, Celery, Carrot, Green Onion, a delicious broth, cauliflower, broccoli, and delectable wantons! A big portion, too, for a very fair price! Served to me nice and hot, fully cooked in only ten minutes! I'm glad I decided to check out Kan Yon today!!! 5 stars!!!

Sweet and sour sauce was orange ish yellow? Tasted fine though, the spring roll was like curry or something? Not my favorite, but the chow mein was pretty good. They even let me use the dine in menu so it was cheaper than the dinner menu they showed me first. Very friendly

Excellent tea shop one of the best in the Fraser Valley. At least a hundred flavors of green Rooibos and white tea as well as a large selection of herbal. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable.

We ordered a dinner for to and got rice , chicken chow main with sweet and sour. Very little veggie and chicken or two starches and one meat. Terrible flavour of food but good service. Would not recommend to others!

(Translated) Hope is a small town. On the way to the Rocky Mountains, lunch is stopped here. I didn't find any restaurants on the road until I found this one! !! The clerk was pretty nice, ordered "Curry chicken with rice", and the taste was okay. The only small suggestion is that there are too many vegetables in the curry. I hope the meat can be more delicious! !! !! (Original) Hope 是ㄧ個小城鎮，前往洛磯山的途中，在此中停用午餐，ㄧ直在路上沒有找到什麼餐廳，直到發現了這家????????！！ 店員蠻nice的????，點了「Curry chicken with rice」，味道還可以，唯一的小建議是咖哩裡面的蔬菜有點太多了，希望肉可以多ㄧ點！！！

What charming, simple and pleasant surprise this tiny restaurant was! This is NOT a fancily decorated eatery with golden Buddhas, hanging tassled lamps and ornate Chinese screens. What it is, it's a 50's something diner converted by adding Chinese food to the Canadian menu. We had battered excellent shrimp appetizers, Chinese Noodle Soup with BBQ pork for starters. BIG portions right off the bat told us there would be take home at the end of this meal! Next we enjoyed pork fried rice and rice noodles with BBQ pork. Both were delicious. Our charming waitress was low key, but attentive. In other words, perfect! The price was reasonable, especially when we left after lunch with dinner in hand!????

My wife is Chinese and wanted to eat some Chinese food on our two night vacation in Hope so we went to Kan Yon for dinner on our last night. The owner of the restaurant came to take our order, ordered some dish's not on the menu and the food was great the pot of tea you get with your meal was so good we asked for a second pot and ended up buying a package of the tea from him since part of the restaurant is a tea house. We talked to the owner for some time, he's very friendly, the restaurant was opened by his grandfather and has been in the family for more than 40 years. Would definitely go back if we get to hope again.

When u go to a restaurant i look at a few things, and this place will become a nice stop to show people as im traveling or working near again. I look at the service, food, price and atmosphere and it did really well to my standards. The Service was fair for speed but great for interaction, it was about 6:45-7:25 when i was there and was 1 server but was very quick on his feet and was welcoming to everyone. The Food was great and was also amazing for the price-to-serving ratio, ended up with having lunch decided for next day. The Atmosphere was welcoming and simple, what would be your average local restaurant. It exceeded my expatations when i was finished, i would recommend visiting this place if you are in the area.

This is the place to eat for Chinese food in Hope B.C. and the weekend buffet all you can eat is great variety tasty dishes lots of fresh hot food. More meat than batter veggies ate done perfectly Dinner for one depends who is cooking as to the amount you get it can be less or more on different days that why I went down a star !

The staff here were friendly, other than that this place had no redeeming qualities. The food was probably the most tasteless and bland of all the "Canadian and Chinese Cuisine" greasy spoons I've been to that every small town across Canada seems to have. I gave this place a chance based on the many good reviews it had. I can't explain the good reviews except that the reviewers must not live in a city like Vancouver with exceptional Chinese food to compare it to. If you do decide to eat here, get a burger!

July 13, 2019. The worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. Got the dinner for 3. Rice looked like it was reheat or fried. All broken and kinda soggy. All dishes were flavorless. Small portions too. Would never recommend.

They are only open for take out at the moment but the friendly proprietor hooked us up with a 'dinner for 2' that could have fed 4-5 people for a reasonable price.

Due to Covid-19 protocols in place and takeout only. Good portions. They have packed the takeouts with extra paper plates and other cutlery. you can walk to the near by park use the park benches to eat the food.

When all the other large restaurants are closed or crazy busy in Hope this restaurant is a secret haven. Generous portions of simple tasty food. Good prices and nice family staff. Interestingly they have a small portion set aside as a tea shop with over a hundred varietys of loose tea and tea accessories.

4.5 stars really. First time eating here since the old owners came back after a few years to serve up their Hope-famous Chinese food. Rice, vege chow mein prawns, chop suey, and egg rolls lived up to the legend I had heard about. Glad they are back and haved fixed up the dining room after the last owners made a mess of things.

The food is alright, and the prices are fair for the large portions you get. Service was good and fast. We got the dinner for 2 and could barely eat half of it so we had lots of leftovers to take home. My only complaint was the dinner for 1 options, im not a big fan of sweet and sour pork at any chinese resturaunt and litterally every option had some kind of variant of it or you can pay 2 bucks to swap something out. But other than that it was a decent place and i would go back again.

Warning - Food made very cheaply. Skimp and save as much as possible. For example, big portions of rice but very little chicken and egg. Same with Chow mein, lots of noodles but very little chicken. Other items were very similar, very small amount of shrimp in the chop Suey. Lemon Grass chicken was average at best. Prices are high for such poor quality food. On top of that, the soap dispensers in the washrooms are watered down soap. So you can't even wash your hands properly. Don't waste your money!

Kind owner gave me a full 5 minutes of his time explaining where I could visit in hope and handing me magazines. I wasn't expecting Hope to have good bbq duck - but it was decent! Enjoyed my meal and will come back.
