I had the schnitzel with mashed potatoes and veg for 12.99. The meat was a little bit dry, but the gravy was pretty tasty. For that price that was a pretty good deal. Their dessert looks pretty good and have lots of selection. We were there late in the afternoon on a Tuesday and there were lots of people.

This was a very busy/popular place when we arrived at 2 in the afternoon on a Thursday. Waited about ten minutes to get in but it was worth it. Super friendly staff. Good food, quick service and reasonable prices. When asked what they had for desserts, the server must have rattled off twenty different kinds of pie.....and that was just the pies! Although this restaurant appears dated, it was clean and facilities were well kept. A great spot to stop for lunch.

Great food as always. Great service. They have a good system set up for covid19 protocol. If you need to wait for a table. Go in, they take your name and then wait outside. I only had to wait for maybe 10 minutes. Has remained a great place to eat for years.

We came here for the reviews and we were asked to leave because we had a small dog something we understand but we weren't asking to stay in with it. One person of our party said he would order with the group at the table and take the food out to eat with the dog as an option. We were denied service to all. It was apparently too complicated for them to cope with something as simple as that. Definitely not feeling like Home here if such a simple request is such a huge issue for them. We went to White Spot. All good without issue. Must be hard to live in modern times.

The place is nice and clean. Service is good but súper impersonal (by the book and disconnected). The food is good but not great. Sizes are large so order considering that either you will eat a lot or have plenty leftovers. Definitely a place to have breakfast or lunch. Not really expensive but not cheap either.

I'm a Vancouver resident who every few months comes to Chilliwack to visit friends. more often than not, we will drive up to Hope for the day and always visit this restaurant (fair enough, probably not too many restaurants to choose from in Hope anyways.....I might be wrong though) None the less, we like this place alot. It's got good food (the pies are fantastic) it's got an inviting atmosphere. I just love the town of Hope, and this restaurant is a great addition to it. See you soon

Have not been in a few months but whenever I stop by hope while going through from filming etc. Me & my buddies always stop here. Great staff, great food & great prices. Sure 5 stars is usually for places that are known to be "5 star restaurants" this is no super fancy place, a super expensive place. It deserves 5 stars for the great food, the portions, the prices & the kindness of the staff. It's mainstream but I definitely suggest the Chicken strips/fries. The onion rings or even the baked mac n cheese. Very delicious. You can expect to pay around 15-20 dollars for yourself or more if you buy a milkshake (definitely worth it). It's not a bad price for the portions & food quality. I highly suggest this restaurant for yourself, your friends, family. Whether it's after a big game, after hiking or anything.

VERY busy and they said they were short staffed. The woman who came to assistance at door was super efficient. I had pancakes, not fully cooked. Disappointing, then as I'm eating my husband's fried potatoes, the server takes the plate away. Never asked if he was finished though plate probably looked that way.

I have not been this dissatisfied with dinner.. ever. I had the fish and chips with two small tasteless pieces of fish and sour/old tarter sauce with under cooked fries, my wife had the chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy, the veggies were canned and so was the mushrooms, they put sooo much gravy it was more like a soup. Very unhappy and if that wasn't enough the staff was not attentive at all but we did notice the people they new by name were treated very well. Next trip through Hope we will stop at a fast food place and at least get the quality of food that we paid for...

The classic diner style restaurant serving ample portions of good old home style cooking. It's a good enough excuse to go for a drive to Hope for an afternoon. My go-to is the mushroom schnitzel, followed by a piece of their legendary pie, usually lemon meringue with the meringue piled very high. Lineups are not uncommon, but they seem to move along quickly. Definitely worth the wait.

It was quite busy when we arrived around 1:30pm on the Saturday on May long weekend, but we did not have to wait long for a table. The service is quite friendly. I got the Spinach Salad and a slice of the Lemon Meringue pie. Their pies are to die for. My friend got the Coconut Cream pie which was also really good. The pie slice portions are VERY generous - good to share between 2 people.

Food was good but the wait time is long. After ordering the food took way to long to arrive. I mean busy places can get orders out fast faster than 40 minutes. The staff weren't particularly inviting upon arrival either. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to actually greet us if you can call it that. Our server was frazzled as if she had never worked a busy shift before. Coffee refills were absent as well. Again food was good but the other issues take away.

Oh my goodness. We were looking for a fish and chips place in Hope, read the reviews, and they are not wrong. The food was amazing, great value and wonderful service. My mom and I split the fish and chips and were quite full. The food was great, the place was clean, the date squares are amazing, tasted like grandmas! I felt so satisfied and comforted after the meal! They also did well on following covid protocol.

Stopped here after visiting the Othello Tunnels around 4pm and this place was busy but the service was still great! The food was very well prepared as well, the Mac n Cheese half portion was huge and delicious. My half size Schnitzel with mushrooms blew my expectations and both were very reasonably priced. Both meals tasted truly home cooked.

Arrived at this restaurant and as we entered the building the atmosphere was great, the initial server took our names and then a separate server arrived and very aggressively asked us to wait outside for our table, which was fine we were heading out to wait for our table; yet the door was blocked by a family of 4 customers arriving. We were patiently waiting to move past to go outside when the separate server became even more Aggressive and Very Rudly said YOU NEED TO GO OUTSIDE pointing her finger with her eyes super wide. Expecting us to bowl over this family and squeeze past them to try to get out the door. At this point I told my family we are not staying here to eat and we waited a bother couple of minutes for the people to move so we could get outside and left.

My husband and I have been going there for 3 years.Every time we go back and forth from 100mile house to the coast.We haven't been there since their renovations just before covid hit in March.We stopped in on Saturday and were so happy that we could just walk in and get a seat.Everything was excellent and the service was great. The server was excellent. The food was priced at what a White Spot or Red Robin's price range is but the flavor quality was just not there. It was bland and quite disappointing. An example is the chocolate milkshake I ordered for my daughter was vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate powder and the coleslaw was seasoned with just enough to see it but not taste the spices. None of our dishes we ordered got finished. The location is convenient for people driving thru to the Coast.

This is a great restaurant, and you know it is because it is packed when you arrive. Staff was great even after we heard they were short staffed that day. The turkey sandwich was delicious and the clubhouse was too. Seniors breakfast was perfect for us to start our day. And thanks to the waitress who had to open the ketchup bottle for my husband, the laugh was so worth it.

One of the best toasted sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. I opted for the veggie one, and it was very tasty. Loads of fries came with it as well. A popular place as attested by the number of people waiting for a table. Interior was a pleasant surprise. Bathrooms are clean but nothing fancy. Service was friendly.

We went to Hope for a business trip, and stopped by the Home Restaraunt for breakfast on our way out of town. The food was excellent, and the staff were fantastic. The servers were so attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. I have eaten at the Home restaraunt in Merrit and Salmon Arm as well, but they don't compare to this location in Hope. Fantastic!!!!

Hashbrowns, sausages, poached eggs, and hollandaise and I'm pretty sure I missed a few things in there but that was an amazing breakfast and I will be stopping here every time I go through Hope. It is a HOMEy restaurant :3 The menu is not very complicated which I like the most. Food: 4/5 everything tastes good but nothing pops out to make it a 5/5 rating. I ordered the baked lasagna which was very fresh from the oven (wished there's more pasta to the meat ratio).My sister ordered the mountain man breakfast and the highlight was the potatoes which were cooked to perfection; however, the ham brought the rating down. It didn't taste like ham at all (?). The cheesecake tastes homemade which is the best kind of dessert. Recommendation: Mountain Man breakfast and the cheesecake!! Serving: 10/5 very huge portions for its price! Service: 3/5 covid 19 protocol. Seating was far apart which eliminate needs for plastic barrier. Although, I noticed the waitress who helped us was wearing a "mouth shield" instead of a mask that can also cover the nose. Yes, I know that us, as customers, are safe but for her as a worker, she is not fully protected. She is very nice and gave us recommendations not only on the food but also places to see im Hope.

A good restaurant just off the #3. I came in with a rather large group after a long drive and they worked to get us in as fast as they could. We had to sit in separated tables or wait longer so we took what they could give to start eating. The place is a bit dated looking but nothing to spoil anything, they also have pictures from the locations past which I like and a nice display showing off their big cakes/pies at the entrance, that's just not fair????. The place itself was busy so I'll let it be known the servers were short on words but it's easy to understand why. Getting helped when needed though was still easy so props to the staff for toughing it through. The food was hit or miss. I had the BBQ ribs which is my go to but my gosh these were spicy it's been a long time since I've had BBQ with spice that I was wondering what had happened. The ribs, in the end were to saucy that the meats flavor just disappeared it was more in tune to BBQ sauce with rib. My wife on the other hand had a mushroom Swiss burger and she said it was one of the best she had in a while (which is saying a lot) and the others in my party had the diner sets (turkey/meat loaf). Also we all had a pie slice for home and I can say having now eaten the blueberry pie it's good after waiting 3 hours???? All said a good dinner experience. Just the ribs threw it off, personally a 4/5 but considering my party's experience 5/5.

This is our favorite resteraunt when traveling through Hope. The rotating pie display when you enter the door is filled with Mile High Lemon Meringue Pie, Coconut Cream, Cherry...all very inviting. I always plan on having a piece but never have. The portion sizes of the entres are large enough to not leave room for desert. My husband always enjoys the Liver and Onions while I lean towards the Schnitzel. The menu reminds me of days gone by, all comfort food!

Man this new vaccine certificate thing has people riled up. What these folks have to put up with is truly shocking. Regardless of how you feel about the vaccine passport program, a server at a restaurant in Hope, British Columbia has very little sway with the policy makers. Yet, immediately after being berated for things clearly out of their control, they have to do their rounds and deal with their actual customers. Our server made the transition flawlessly and did not let one ignorant jack-wagon influence how they dealt with all the others. That is truly commendable, and I'm not sure that I wouldn't have been at least somewhat flustered (more likely triggered). You want to rant about choices and freedoms? I love hot turkey sandwiches. I got to have a hot turkey sandwich instead of when all the restaurants were closed and and the only things open were drive through windows.

We found this place on a blog for having some of the best fish and chips in the area - this was HYPE that the restaurant did not live up to. The fish was almost non-existent amongst all the batter it was covered in - which was on the cusp of burnt, this left us disappointed which is why I’ve deducted 2 stars from the rating. HOWEVER, the macaroni in cheese was awesome! It was packed with flavour and super cheesy. The cheesecake was AMAZING, it had this perfect fluffy and creamy texture and the pies were also really good - we tried the mulberry and banana cream, flaky crust and baked very nicely! Amazing homemade pies and delicious food. Ordered the clam chowder and their lasagna, which were both packed with flavour. Large portions and was very filling while being quite inexpensive. This restaurant does really make you feel like you're at home. Their banana cream pie was very good and their cheesecake was very creamy! Service is absolutely phenomenal and personable. They also have a senior discount on meals. I'll definitely be back to try their other pies!

We found this restaurant quite by chance when we came off Hwy 1. We normally stop in Chilliwack, but we happened on this little gem. Love the home comfort menu and the size of the portions. I had beef liver with onions and gravy and my wife had the roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. We were both served a mixture of fresh vegetables, including garden peas (a first in Canada). Great service, reasonable prices and fruit pies to die for. We will definitely call in again.

I always love to go to this restaurant, they have tasty foods and great varieties of pies. Due to the covid-19, they are spacing the tables in order to keep the social distance and asking you to stay in the car until they call you to get in. I had a turkey dinner this time, very well served.

Best food in the area. The staff was friendly and my coffee cup was never empty. Their pies look amazing. We will stop in on our way back to Vancouver. Lots of parking and it was easy to get in and out.

This is a "never fails to deliver great food" restaurant. The quality of food is always as high as the huge pie slices they serve. Over the years we have eaten here many times and have tried many of their dishes and without a doubt this is a great place for home cooked food and friendly service.

I am not sure why people like the food here. I ordered a large $15 salad. Iceberg lettuce with thousand island dressing? Seriously? Very disappointing. I appreciate retro menu but that is something that should not be served. Period.

Was coming through on Saturday and had the pleasure of having Danine serve me. She was absolutely fabulous and so friendly. I didn't know what to get as I was not hungry and she suggested the small one egg breakfast. It was not small and I asked for my hash browns crispy and the were all the way through, not just on the top. Danine even got me some hot water for the rest of my trip. I could not be happier with the food, service and portions.

Great little find in Hope! Super clean, very cozy, awesome service and great food. I had the fish and chips, which was really fresh and delish. Our group had breakfast, burgers and a kid's meal, all of which were great. If you're a pie person, there's a "pie maker" with a serious talent that will have lots of delicious options for you. Come eat here!!

Amazing Chop House Burger--one of the best burgers I've ever had, which was very unexpected as we weren't planning to stop here. It was a long weekend Monday and there was a line, about a 20min wait. The chocolate cream pie was okay. Pretty good service.

Stopped in today (Sunday) at 5 pm. Asked for a menu. Took it back to the car and came back to order takeout 2 minutes later. Staff member was ready to take my two orders, looked at a supervisor -- who came over and told me in an arrogant way, "No takeout 5-7 pm!" I asked if we could sit outside and eat (they have 2 tables). "We don't serve outside. That would be a takeout!" she said without explanation or apology. Then she added "The kitchen's drowning!" Yeah, there were five people waiting outside. For what? dunno. Two were then called in by staff. We are not going back. Think twice before you go. HEY, MANAGEMENT! UPDATE WEBSITE! NO TAKEOUT LIMITATIONS MENTIONED YET!

Big line up to get in on Wednesday 9am, got a booth, ordered breakfast special, power went out for the whole town of Hope BC, an old lady couldn't get out of the washroom it was so dark! Settled on Apple pie which was good although very sweet. Paid by Visa using the old paper slips in the machine! Staff were friendly.

Every time we traveled through Hope, we stopped at Home Restaurant to have our lunch there. They always have great food and great service and not to mention the delicious pies they have. Be prepared to wait in line during lunch time but it's worth the wait.

They don't know how to make beef liver at all. Go to Dolly's - liver, onion, potatoes, service etc. Waaaay better! And, why do you put bacon on it? Customer might be muslin.

Wow....first time visitor in August 2020. What a great place to eat in Hope B.C. I had the fish and chips, and my wife had a BLT. Great food, and you also get a heaping plateful. Also had the Clam Chowder, very good. Friendly staff, and they had very good COVID protocols in place. We will make sure we stop there again next time thru.

We were craving some homemade diner food after a day of exploring in Hope. The pie display was the allure that brought us in. Sadly, the blueberry pie was so disappointing. The amount of salt used made it difficult to enjoy, let alone eat. We don't know if this was a one off but it was really offputting. We enjoyed the Salisbury steak but found the sourdough chicken melt to be really greasy (more than your usual). Prices were reasonable for the homecooked feel of the dishes. We would return to give it another try.

A family type restaurant started on 1953. Good very large meals and we only had small serves. Has a Seniors selection. All good apart from the supplied vegies still not sure what it was except unpalatable mess so left mine. The staff need to tone down their calling out and discussions as everyone in restaurant knew the business talk. We were served by Paige who did an excellent job despite her 14yrs age. Plenty of parking and on main road at Hope also it is the 1 hwy. While there why not drive down Hope Flood Road part Jamie Davis Towing from the TV truck rescue series.

It's probably the best restaurant in Hope. Seems to be always busy, but the servers are very good and the service is very fast. We had a nice lunch there, but if I get back to Hope, this will be the place I'm going to choose.
