Wanted a light takeout meal so I ordered a tabbouleh salad. It cost over ten dollars which was already questionable but I figured I'd get a good serving size, as main dishes offered here come in huge amounts and cost around $5 more than the salad I ordered. When she handed me the bag, it felt almost empty. the container was basically the diameter of the palm of my hand, and only an inch and a half tall... maximum. I excused the waitress and asked her if that was all... She said yes. Then I told her I didn't want to pay over $10 for a salad that small (I'm a broke student). She was clearly very irritated by this. Then basically pinned the issue on me by saying I "should have looked at the menu first" before hesitantly giving me a refund. The menu doesnt say anywhere how much salad you get. I would have still ordered it whether I looked at it or not. Rating 2 stars instead of 1 because main dishes are pretty good, but this experience will stop me from ever going there again. Felt very unwelcome.

The biggest problem is that.. they present the place as a halal حلال restaurant butwhen I want to the bathroom I saw a fridge full of beer(alcohol)... So how can you be trustable? I take a lamb plate pretty good but the meet portion was really small.. It was also really hard to have an arrangement. I want to change my salade for oignons rings but no way to do that so I just ask for no salade and I pay for my rings...

As a Turkish, I can say that this is not real Turkish cuisine. Yes, it looks like, but the taste is different. I am so sorry that this restaurant is just commodifying Turkish culture instead of serving real Turkish food. There are many other Turkish restaurants in Halifax, once you try them, you will understand what I mean.

It was cold, not the food, the ambient temperature. I asked politely the waitress to raise the temperature a bit (we had our 4 year old with us) and she said that was the maximum heat they had in the winter. They did have a heat pump that wasn't turned on though. We did not take off our jackets throughout the meal and so did other customers. It was a real shame considering what we paid at the end. Anyhow, the food was good. I do not plan to return there as they totally luck responsibility toward the service they are supposed to offer.

Being someone who doesn't eat home-cooked food, I like to try different places out. I came across Turkish delight a while back, and have eaten there a number of times. Their food is either a hit or miss. I went there a few times and the food was great, and other times their meat seemed to be microwaved and from a previous day. Their taste and quantity in rice is pretty consistent, but not in their meats. Another thing which I completely hate is waiters coming constantly asking "How's the food?", alright, once is fine and respectable, but please don't come asking four times while I'm eating, especially with someone else. The other thing which completely destroyed my experience was the last time when I went in, they charged mandatory tip (which I noticed after leaving) for every person on the table, and the waiter also left the screen up for me putting in extra tip. They charged $12 mandatory tip for 6 people (note: tip is something which is voluntary, not forced upon consumers to pay), and over that I also put in extra tip not knowing they charged me $12. I wouldn't have mind paying the $12 tip, but please let me know that you're charging me tip before making me insert more amount. Sure, it's on your menu, but most people overlook it, as there's nothing that exists such as "mandatory gratuity". This review is in no way to bash this place, it is just so that they can improve their service. I hope to retry this place, but after affirmations of improvements.

A real delight. Restaurant doesn't look spectacular from the outside but don't be fooled. They have a good selection of lamb/chicken kabobs and other more traditional meals. Food was well prepared and it came with the right amount of salad and rice. We had the meze platter which was great for a starter. Service was really good. My friend brought his son and they made his meal like a face with a smile. That was certainly something you don't get everywhere. Interior is pleasant and clean. If you're looking for a good lunch downtown that's definitely a perfect spot.

We went there at 8:10pm. The waitress reminded us that they were closing a few times with an unfriendly attitude, when there was 50 minutes left to their closing time. Finally, because of her attitude, we left before even ordering. This was my second bad experience there. The first time, they over charged us by mistake. I will never be back again.

One place I would never miss to visit in Halifax. Even though I visited this place after three years there wasn’t much difference in the overall appearance of the shop. The taste of the food was above average. I am quite sure that the price got increased a bit recently. But when it comes to the food there is actually no other options in Halifax which can replace Turkish Delight. Make sure you eat your portion in the shop itself. I would never recommend a takeout.

Rude waitress. It was an slow night and the restaurant was almost empty. There were 8 of us and she decided to fit all of us at two small tables. We asked her to change the tables. She refused first (said we can not put 2 big tables together) but agreed after one minute. Because of her attitude, we decided to leave without ordering anything. Food was okay. However please read the bill carefully before you pay. Our office went to the restaurant for a celebration. Each of our bills was added with a ~15% service charge because our group number exceeded 8. The waitress did NOT inform me that the billed amount was added with tips already. You can guess, I paied 15% +15% on a bill of 4 people (not for the whole group, only some of us). The other colleagues's bills after the tips were added were different enen though they basically ordered almost the same item. Their billing system is very SNEAKY. BE AWARE.

So, we ordered for four people through just eat, but only 3 of our four drinks arrived. 1 of the 3 wasn't even diet like we asked for, because they apparently ran out. Most restaurants would call you and ask you if you'd like other drinks they do have, but we had to be surprised by the missing/incorrect drinks. We also asked for no salads as it makes the fries soggy and for all the meat to be well done. There was salad (half a dish full meaning there were only a couple pieces of fries) and the meat was undercooked. Rice was also missing for one dish. When I called the restaurant, they told me they didn't have what we wanted and the box for the notes was "too small to read". They asked me if I would be okay with a credit, and I said sure. I call today to apply the credit, but they first tell me they have no clue about it and to call back later. Then when they do figure out the credit situation, I'm told to order within that credit limit. I clarify that we want a whole new order minus the credit, but then I'm told we won't get delivery because it's too expensive for them or something and I should pick up. I had to hang up in the end because it was getting very frustrating. I doubt we'll order from them again. Okay food. Terrible customer service.

I went there with my friend and my food was good. I ordered a chiken kofta with salad and fries it was good. My mom on the other hand ordered a lamp chop with fries. The meat was full of blood and did not look right. My mom ate it the next day she had the bigest stomach ache in her whole life. Also they charged fries which did not make me happy. I do not recommend lamp dishes in this restaurant.

The best Turkish Restaurant outside of Turkey, let alone in the whole Canada. The first time we ordered Beyti kebab and lamb köfte. Both were very fresh and juicy. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere that we went back the day after and ordered Iskender. The meat was extremely fresh and delicious. The portion of the food was also large. We then ordered baklava with a Turkish coffee. The baklava was fresh from the oven and wonderful. The coffee was truely a TURKISH COFFEE. I couldn't enjoy more from the meal I had. The local turkish music playing at the background, very friendly staff and very reasonable prices were adding an extra level to my satisfaction. I highly recommend and will definitely go back each time I'm in Halifax.

I only put a second star because my food was good but my husband's wasn't really as my chicken kofta. He took this lamb chop with rice and salad, and rice was rubbery and not that tasty, the inside of the lamb chop is completely red I told the worker about this and they had to apologize. I had the weirdest service tow days ago. I had to add rice latter on in to my order, I asked for spoon rather eating rice using a Fork. Then "it" came & just simply placed the spoon right on the middle of the table right on the wooden table that been used before many times, so I have to reinforce my immune system by using the naked spoon if I did ofcurs. I used the fork because I don't want caus any embarrassment. Feeling better that i got this out off my system

Went there when it was first opened almost 8 to 10 years ago, food was great back then. Always wanted to go back and I finally made it back. Different decor now and it is lovely. Food is as great as I had before. Delicious.

Not sure why this place has a lower score on Skip the Dishes. I lived in Turkey for 2 years, and this place is the closest to authentic I’ve had in Halifax. Great Donor kebap when they have it, and Iskender is delicious! Definitely try if you want really great Turkish food.

This was an odd bag of experiences. The server had no idea about the menu. Absolutely clueless. The guy was friendly but obviously inexperienced. Silverware was kinda lumped down into the table. Food arrived quickly but not at the same time. Plates were dirty when the food arrived. The food was only okay. My Lamb was cooked fine but had very little flavor. My friends kebab was not prepared correctly for a traditional iskender. My friend with me is from the east, and was very disappointed in how far from a traditional meal it was. It was very "westernized" compared to the real kebabs from Turkey. Had to hunt down the server for the cheque, bit awkward. Overall, not terrible but definitely not great.

I have been to many restaurants, however this one stood out to me. The turkish lamps, and the turkish music really gave you the istanbul feeling. The food was delivered in a mannered time, and tasted great. The waitress even shared the playlist of the turkish songs that were playing in the restaurant.

First time ive eaten at this rest. since its been sold. The food was cold/ warm even though they made us wait over 30 min for Just the APPs! we ordered lamb and chicken,, of course both warm. as we were eating we noticed something was off, it wasn't good, and i tasted rot, but since we couldn't see it we kept eating. Good thing i didn't give my nephew too much because we all had the runs and terrible cramps very shortly after .. all night and up till the next morning. i'm disgusted and mad i wasted money and tipped for this terrible food and service. Terrible experience, terrible food. How can you sell rotten food. this place deserves to be shut down . maybe chef Ramzy needs to come in take a look at your fridge. i imagine all your meat is rotten and you just serve it anyway.
