Summary: Gagged on food, didn't eat it, left.
First off, I'm a poor student with low, low standards. Seriously, Dr. Oetker frozen pizza and boxed wine is my idea of a fancy dinner. This place is an utter disaster, and I will never, ever go back. This happened Saturday, Feb 25 at ~11 am.
There were two young people in charge of everything. I honestly can't fathom how they decided that they had any place selling cooked food to people for money. There is so much wrong with what just happened that I'm going to break this up into separate categories of failure.
Service: 0/10
Our meals came about 15 minutes apart from each other. The case was the same for all 2 other tables in the restaurant. The other groups were going back just staring at the "cook", waiting for their food. The kid cooking couldn't be bothered to to even NOTICE because he was on his PHONE having a grand old casual chat with someone. They watched as he painstakingly cooked one thing at a time. Fry the egg. Done. Now start the bacon. Done. Hey, now seems like a great time to put the bread in the toaster! Done. Congratulations, here's your cold meal with hot toast!
Food quality: -1/10
We ordered french toast, and it was legitimately disgusting. It never occurred to him to try cooking it on BOTH SIDES!! I took a bite and gagged as my mouth flooded with bread *drenched* in raw egg. You'd think that the kid cooking one painstaking thing at a time would at least flip the french toast once. We sent it back, and they didn't even recook all of the pieces! It came back looking like sloppy pile of wet yellow socks.
15 minutes later the next meal arrived - the breakfast special. It's dull, grey appearance was enough to give you depression. I took one bite of the ham and spit it out. It was tough, cold, and tasted like the dirty grill it was cooked on. But at least the toast was hot!
We stared down at our food feeling repulsed, dejected, nauseated, and ripped off. My girlfriend and I looked at each other and nodded in silent, mutual understanding. We got up and walked out, leaving our plates completely full. But hey, at least we weren't hungry anymore! (It's important to see the positive in everything.)
So this place gets 2 stars instead of 1 because it only set us back $14. They suck, but they have the decency to only charge you $14. As a poor student, I can really appreciate that. In fact, this place gets 2.5/5 stars.
