What a treat to eat here! I used to frequent the former eatery when I worked downtown so getting to pop in to have a delicious panini and chai latte with steamed oat milk made fir a perfect lunch between meetings. Cozy space and friendly staff - I will be back soon, I hope!

Nice little local cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Ordered the Avocado + Chimichurri eggs on toast which was a delicious and healthy choice for breakfast. Paired it with a latte which was nice and foamy. We sat on the tables just outside to enjoy the nice and sunny weather.

Small but quaint little coffee shop up the street from where I work. Great coffee, delicious (although I am supposed to be on a diet) muffins & brownies. Wraps and sandwiches are generous and filling. Great little spot for a quick lunch.

This is my favorite coffee joint in the city! The friendly staff is efficient and they've got the best coffee & muffins in town, my fave is the raspberry streusel. If you happen to be downtown on Barrington it's well worth stopping by for a cup of joe.

Despite several allergies, I was able to enjoy a robust salad at the Bird's Nest Cafe. The order-at-the-till style makes it awkward to have a conversation about allergies, as I generally have several questions which take time; I felt like I would be holding up the line if I asked too many. Nevertheless, I appreciate their willingness to work with my allergies, and the affordable price of their menu options. They are located walking distance from the harbour, and have a lovely patio on Barrington Street.

Logistical nightmare: from ordering, paying, receiving. It is a shame because the food is 5/5. Very popular spot due to the food but will lose out if they can’t run smoother.

Tried this the other day on my lunch break after finding it on yelp. It is a really nice little shop but very small. There is maybe enough sitting for 4-6 people max. Got the chicken club panini and it was so good, the cheese was googie and the bread was good and it had mushrooms in it which I love. For sure will be back to try another good panini

My wife and I visited on Sept. 26, 2020. My wife had contacted the restaurant ahead of time to ensure that a menu item was still available. This was something called a "Dutch baby." She was assured that it was available and would be when she arrived. When we reached the restaurant, the item was listed on the wall. When my wife ordered the item, she was told they didn't have it. We were disappointed, but decided to stay anyway. We ordered coffee while we read the menu. We ordered. I had the "naked eggs." It took a very long time for our food, when it arrived my eggs were just two hard boiled eggs and two pieces of sourdough bread for $11. And what was left of my coffee was cold and we were never once offered a refill. We will not return.

The Bird's Nest is a delightful daytime eatery with delicious options to suit any diet. I had a large salad and a Vietnamese ice coffee that was on special. It can be hard to get a table for four, but there's usually room for tables of 1-2.

Exceptional coffee and sandwiches. Their site says takeout only but there were three tables available for dine in, with probably 3-4 meters between each table. Service was fast, the sandwiches were made to order quickly, best sandwich I have had in a while on fresh baked bread . Lovely cappuccino - highly recommend for a quick lunch.

Great little spot in the heart of downtown. They have 5 or 6 different breakfast options served until 11:30 and a multitude of cold sandwiches, paninis, specialty hot sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee and tea drinks. Even a couple beers on tap and some wine too!! Order at the counter and sit inside or they have 4 tables outside on the sidewalk. Will definitely be heading back again to try their lunch options.

This was a pleasant little cafe, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the place was very clean. Staff brought hot drinks/food over to your table once ready. The restroom was clean and tidy. There were some interesting varieties of tea on the menu, I had a chai-der which was a rather pleasant, fruity tasting black tea (not like a chai latte). The staff were very helpful when I enquired about the ingredients for two of the vegetarian sandwich options (a grilled cheese panini & grilled halloumi wrap I think).

- Location is good in downtown, parking is an issue. - decorations and layout is good, the place has out door seats, upstairs seats and first level with limited seats. Decorations is ok, layout is issue, customers are lined up in the middle. - orders are on the stand service - take orders time within expectations. - services are excellent and quick - cleanliness, plausible. - taste and qty, taste is ok, qty is not enough. - prices are reasonable and within expectations $ - conclusion, I see is good to try it at least once.

I was going to try this breakfast place somewhere but they were closed so good thing I came here. I like their chaider, I enjoyed their snickrdoodle cookie, I really like their belgian chocolate brownie and their panini with halumi and eggplant is tasty. The two chinese female who came in started taking quite a few pictures including oblivious customers, as soon as they came in and continued while they sat down - it was annoying because not everyone would wanna be unknowingly and randomly photographed. However, I like the ambience of this place. I would like to try their breakfast menu next time.

Great café for a lunch stop. I visit regularly to get some to get some food to go. They have great wraps, sandwiches, soups, salads and more. A local owner who obviously cares about a quality product. Employees have always been friendly to me and my food has always been fresh.

Stop what you're doing and visit this incredible café! Fresh food that was meticulously prepared, and wonderful customer service even during their busy hours. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Their cappuccinos are the best I've had in all of Canada ... the barristas are truly incredible.

It's okay. Their lactose free milk selection is limited to almond milk and soy milk, both of which can be overwhelming flavors. If you are gluten free you won't be able to find an easy meal to have. The entrance is a small step, but it is definitely not accessible. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable, seems like a nice spot to spend some time or meet someone for brunch. tldr: people with food sensitivities beware - it's not a barrier free venue, it's quaint.

Joined my friend who had purchased lunch and I also purchased a treat. Sat down together to study and after about 30min I got approached by the staff very rudely and before I could speak he proceeded to take my almost empty cup of coffee(from mccafe) from the table and emptied it into a glass saying that what I had done what disrespectful. We left as soon as this happened because we both felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome after. As we left the staff member was loudly and evidently angry putting things away and when we exited the door he sarcastically yelled "come again soon". Had he asked in a polite way for me to discard my cup of coffee I would have never refused, theres a certain standard in which staff should treat customers and this was not right.
