I really enjoy going to Five Mile Hall for events. First of all, it's in the country...yep it is. Used to be exactly 5 miles from Grande Prairie. What more could you ask for than being able to get out of Dodge? Do you know we also had a gas station at 4 mile corner? Anybody remember which direction that was? Share if you do... Anyways... Everyone here seems to embody and embrace the home cooked meals, fresh country air, hard work, rising early, a toss of the hat, cleaning of mucky boots and, thanking the Lord for bounty, family, friends. Was in a wedding party that utilized Five Mile Hall as their venue. It was beautifully set up and had everything that was needed.

Place is nice but there was a lot of hidden fees that came up last minute. Large kitchen is great and good amount of space. Bit pricey for liquor as they don't allow you to bring in your own and have their own bartender. Also wasn't allowed to bring in the home made wine, even though it wasn't being bought, that my dad spent months making. This wasn't even for my wedding and everything my sister had to put up with was super annoying.

Such a great place! I've been here for my friend's wedding and their ceremony and reception was amazing! I liked it so much that I'll be having my wedding there this summer!

Large clean space. The bar and staff were great. Being able to park your camper there was convenient.

Lovely inside and plenty of space outside which was exactly what we needed. The extra fees and hoops required to have a wedding here do not make it worth it in the end though. Save yourself the headache and struggle, I had even been in touch with vendors that will not work with the hall. Overall the our complaints were heard so that is positive, but I noticed their website doesn't even guarantee rental costs anymore. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY VARIABLES.

The hall itself was fine for our wedding venue. I do not recommend the catering option provided through the hall though. Our wedding was 2 weeks before Christmas and we were served a Turkey dinner. The caterer claims “miscommunication” although I would NEVER have agreed to a Turkey dinner for a wedding that close to Christmas. My guests were disappointed as they also believed the menu was completely different. It’s unfortunate that we could not be appropriately compensated for this mishap. This is a day we will never get back. Make sure that you get EVERYTHING in writing. Lesson learned.
