GROUPON BUYERS BEWARE
Like the other reviews, I am unable to give this restaurant much praise. This restaurant is trying to be something it is not. I bought a Groupon to try this place out. Unannounced in the fine print of the offer, I found out that Groupon Vouchers were limited to a specific limited GROUPON MENU. In principal, I would take no issue with this IF it had been mentioned in the offer. Let's just say it was not a good surprise! The offer should have specified the special menu. Moving on, the appetizers. The offer stated one could spend up to $14 on an appetizer. The most expensive appetizer on the GROUPON MENU, was about ten bucks ($10). There was a nice appetizer of flaming cheese on the regular menu which one could see on line if they had a look at the website. Guess the price .....yup....$14. ....but not allowed. This would appear to be a classic example of bait and switch. Very misleading and deceptive. The food was fine, not spectacular, but fine. I will note that the accompanying vegetables were very good. At the end of our meal we were presented with an incomprehensible bill...which was incidentally incorrect - we were overcharged on the actual price of the soup. Everything on the bill is shown at full menu cost and includes a MANDATORY 15% GRATUITY ....which also was NOT MENTIONED in the offer. The gratuity is of course calculated on the full price of each menu item. Again, misleading and deceptive. Fortunately another online reviewer had mentioned this in a review so I wasn't unprepared. Another failure on the part of the restaurant though. With respect to decor, it is very dark (not in a good way) and very old and wrn out looking. Zero ambiance. Torn old carpets, and banquet chairs. If the experience had been better, I would not care about the decor but as a package, there's nothing to recommend this place. Save your cash and go somewhere else.
