Tasty Authentic Food. Friendly Owner.
Not a good experience... wanted to try this place as the reviews are good. Less than stellar place.. they were renovating the place so it was only take out. I ordered it and paid was told 1 hour wait to get the food. So I left and came back after 1 hour, they sold out of some items and had to refund me. After receiving food, I came home and opened food, they were missing all the sauces and the food was tasteless. Wouldnt reccomend .. Edit: what's there to be confused about? I ordered samosas, pakoras both which is usually severed with chutney( sweet tamarind and green mint)which I specifically asked for as well. The garlic naan taste like regular naan which I paid considerably extra for. The paneer makhani was lacking salt, ginger, pepper , coriander and the paneer was sliced weird .... even the busiest of restaurants are able to push out food at a faster pace. If a customer already paid for a drink how can it be sold out, why wasnt it accounted for ? As I said above less than stellar...
Good food!
Great food and friendly staff!
Best Indian Food, great service and excellent location. This is one of the handful places who serve authentic Indian food.
A hidden gem of a place. Very authentic food and the flavors just explode in your mouth. Our first experience and definitely not our last. Very reasonable prices and great portions. Well done!!
Went there a few days ago, ordered 3 types of curry, nan, rice & roti . The quantity was very less comparatively to the price!! Extremely over priced, got 5/6 pieces of shrimps for $18 that too tasteless. All the gravy tasted same though we ordered different meat & different type. Such a waste of money. Also they take forever to prepare the food . The dessert was ok . Do not waste your time & money by going there.
I did not find this place attractive, interior is not good at all. Too overrated.
The food and service is fabulous!
Halal Indian Food.
Love the taste of the food and the hospitality.A must try place if you are in Gananoque. Will revisit very soon to try some more dishes.
The most authentic indian cuisine I've eaten in a long time. They do not compromise on the quality of the spices and ingredients and the its overall great value for the price. Do not miss this if you are in the Kingston or Gananoque area!
Not recommend to anyone wastage of money tasteless food
Excellent food!
Very tasty Indian food
Amazing, flavor was on point and I got a good sweat on with the vindaloo???????????? They can tame the heat, if you're looking for flavor, yet white person hot.... Delicious. I'll be back with wifey
Will happily recommend your food, and hospitality to all of my, "Shout Sisters" We had a bit of difficulty finding you, (we drove from, Brighton for last night's concert)but we know where you are now! Thanks for a wonderful feed of Indian food which I'd gladly eat on a picnic table, from my lap,...anywhere, any time!!!
Really good food
Super-pathetic service. Had high hopes from the restaurant considering its ratings. I came here yesterday 825 pm (restaurant has a closing time of 9 pm). First we had to wait at door with no one to take order. Next when the person came she said we can only do takeouts ( we said ok). When we started ordering in few mins then she said sorry we cant take any orders. We were very disappointed (and hungry). We did not have lot of options that time for veg food but luckily managed to get something elsewhere We gave this place a benefit of doubt for the day. I came here next day around 445 pm to try the food again. First the waiter made us stay in waiting area for 10 mins (the place was not even crowded and just had two table occupied). Next we got a table. No one came to take our order for another 10 mins so i went in and asked. The person said in an unapologetic way - the server will come once they clean the other table. I still did not mind. Next I asked if they can take my order at counter. The guy started taking my order but said we cannot do tea right now. Also i felt - it wasn’t that they were short of ingredients (it’s just that they did not want to do it for some reason) This is when we decided to leave. We were super disappointed with the experience as both of the days we came up while we were suoer hungry and were denied proper service. I hope they improve in future and others don’t have to go through such a horrible experience. This review has been posted with an intent so that management takes appropriate corrective measures to improve visitor experience in future.
The food is delicious and the staff are fantastic. this place almost always seems busy and you know that is a good sign. The owner is a very friendly and hardworking man. (put many tireless hours is getting it open and running smoothly) I had the pleasure of having worked for him when he was corporate Chef for Milestones and ran the district I worked in. (he was awesome there too) I'm hoping for many successful years to come. Thanks again for everything.
Awesome butter chicken & chicken biryani & the hospitality of the owner was simply superb. Highly recommended.
I’ve tried many indian restaurants in the thousand islands region and this is by far the best! The palak paneer is unique and delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and a delightful person. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!
Amazing service by Jagdish and amazing food. The garlic naan was delicious. Would definitely come back when in town.
saag paneer was delicious!
Being one of the rare Indian takeaways in the town of Gananoque and 1000 islands, this place does not justify the true Indian cuisine that is rich in flavours. They are poorly organized and does not hold authenticity to the true Indian tastes. If they try and get things right, it could be one of the best take aways in the town. Despite all these, it takes over 30 minutes to get even the simplest of the foods. There are better options.
Nice restaurant delivery only you can eat by the water 5 min walk. Very clean kitchen and nice people
I have tried 10's or maybe close to 100 of Indian restaurants in Canada in last few years, but without a doubt this place has best garlic naan and paneer curry, not just food is great but service is excellent too! Will go there again when I am in the area.
Everything was delicious, except the butter chicken we ordered. It was very clearly made with canned tomato soup and wasn't their usual quality. Would order anything else again, but beware of the butter chicken!
Pathetic food quality and taste. We ordered kababs, a gravy and biryani. The naan came when we were almost finished with the kabab. Its a shame to call their biryani, biryani because its literally tasteless rice with chicken pieces. The drinks were served 5 minutes before we left. Stupid quantity and overly priced. You’d be better of with a fish burger combo from mcdonalds. We wasted money here and Im so mad about it.
Delightful

Best pit stop at about 2 hours in between Toronto and Montreal. Just 4 minute detour from 401 for amazing veg pakodas and chai and authentic Indian food. Amazing and welcoming staff. About all, great taste and value for money.
We had a great time here garlic naan is crispy and lamb curry is spicy the way we asked for.
Delicious food today and always! We drive from Kingston to Gananoque just for the amazing taste ❤
Food was delicious and very flavorful!
Amazing food......awesome cleanliness! Can't get better!!
The food was delicious, and the manager there was an absolute gentleman. Friends and I will definitely be eating there again!
It was supposed to be good but completely disappointed. Dishes are Indian but the items are not cooked accordingly... paneer sabji was full of potatoes.. and who puts potatoes in DAL TADKAA!! Won't visit again..
Really lovely service. Food is amazing. Nicely spiced. Well presented.
My friends and I had a wonderful experience eating at this restaurant! The atmosphere on the patio was so lovely and the food was amazing. The samosas were to die for, and the garlic naan tasted really delicious. The portion sizes were perfect– enough to fill your stomach and not too much so there's food wasted. The owner and staff were really friendly and regularly checked on us to see how we were doing. I left with a huge smile on my face:) I would definitely come again and would recommend this place to anyone who wants flavourful dishes, a nice ambiance, and really good service.
Food was too good and the service was amazing ????????
Excellent place. Please try this restaurant if you want to taste authentic Indian food.
Friendly and courteous

The ladies at the front were very less friendly it looks like they dont think customers as their priority.Even if customers are not familiar with restaurant they need to be well behaved and be friendly and helpful.
So delicious. Out favourite part of the farmers market was reading their butter chicken and wandering through the booths.
Food and service was good
Chef Been rock...me and my wife stopped in Gananque for a night halt and randomly thought of finding an Indian restaurant. Thank God 1000 island Indian take put was just a few mins walk. Food was amazing, I am simply blown away. Ben we will be doing the boat tour tomorrow, thanks a ton for the delicious food. Will probably drop in for another meal before leaving town. Cheers
The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had! Went there two times but returned without any order. Yesterday, we went there for dinner half an hour before closing and they said they can only do take out and after making us wait 10 minutes, they refused to take the order stating that the kitchen is closed. Today again, we went for there for tea and snacks. After making us literally wait for 10 minutes they finally gave us a table. And after getting a table outside, no one came around to get the order for 10 minutes. When we finally reached out to them again, they said they can’t do tea anymore. The staff was very rude in communication and made no attempts to apologize for all the wait.
I had one of the most delicious butter chickens in all my life... the staff is really friendly...and such a beautiful restaurant...ah fair price too...as i live in Brazil I unfortunately wont go back very often but I totally recommend..xoxo
Incredible authentic food, you can taste the skill and love put into creating the dishes. It's like a warm hug in a dish. Do yourself a favour and go here ????
Awesome unbeatable authentic food ????????????
The best indian selling food place in 1000 islands. Really enjoyed thoroughly my meal with son. Had wonderful food.... overwhcelming hospitality..... good food.... good place to stop god bless u team.. .
Ordered butter naans and the naans we got were really thick... like 4 of them in one. With the thick naans it was hard to enjoy any of the flavour in the dish... all you taste is the naan!
Some of the best Indian food I have had! Ben will spice it up to as brave as you think you are!
The cruise for Boldt castle is worth taking.... amazing place to go with frnds..
Really quite good. The owner was very helpful and his food was flavorful. The butter chicken was especially nice. Enjoy!

Best restaurant in 1000 island.Great experience.Recommended to everyone
An amazing authentic indian food experience means its 1000Curry we're a frequent visitors of 1000Curry Kingston, but specially wanted to taste so travelled to Gannanoque city and as always they didnt fail to amaze us. They were fantabolusly excellent!! Being a foodie I have always loved ambience, attitude and food obviously and 1000Curry has always over achieved our benchmark. Starting from their paneer pakoras to their Jal frazi and Bhuna veggies to their mango lassi they are just perfect their aroma and freshness always makes me fascinate about their excellent customer service despite of the fact they weren't inaugurated they still served us the best with their complimentary kheer which was again amazing never love kheer but loved theirs forever now onwards. Best wishes to them and waiting for its inaugural release. !! #ForeverHappyCustomer #1000CurryRocks
We just finished our delicious dinner. When we went to pick up our food we were greeted by the owner and had a lovely chat about Indian food and our experiences in India. The best part was yet to come though when we got home and began to eat. 1000 Curries food is very good and very authentic. You may want to keep this (authentic) in mind if you order the Vindaloo which has some serious heat! The Madras is, of course, more of medium heat if you aren’t used to authentic Indian spice levels. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back again. Thanks! p.s. agree with Dhrumil that the Samos were also excellent!
Amazing food! The butter chicken is sooo good!! And super friendly people :)
Great place to have dinner or lunch, warm service, amassing dishes. I’ve tasted local and unforgettable taste red wine, veggie curry, Korma, and rice
I went to 1000 Curry in Gan, hearing that it was pretty good.. and it was very good. We ordered the Bhuna (lamb), the Vindaloo (beef), some rice, a mango lassi and shami kabab beef. It happened to be Diwali festival on the day we went, so we received a sweet treat of jalebi from our server. Everyone was kind and friendly. We particularly like the bhuna taste and the spice level of the vindaloo. I would recommend this place!
Awesome food and perfect taste.
I wish there were 10 stars to rate. I was missing spicy Indian flavours from past 2 years????, finally I am satisfied. We will definitely come back.
(Translated) Super tasty Indian food. Only to go, but no matter. It was worth it, tasted like our stay in India (Original) Super schmackhaftes indisches Essen.Leider nur zum Mitnehmen, aber egal.Das war es wert, schmeckte wie bei unserem Aufenthalt in Indien
Food are expensive and the woman is rude.
Delicious home cooked Indian cuisine
Delicious food, great staff members and overall a wonderful experience. The Naan was freshly baked and the curry was authentic made with real Indian whole spices. Had a great time on our way back from Montreal to Toronto, steaming hot indian food on a chilly cold evening. Worth the stop !! Thank you.
Food was awesome.. Garlic naan is must try bread... Staffs and owners are supportive and helping
Food was delicious.
Came here 2nd time,, but same thing again.. Food not fresh. Overly priced for such small quantities.
(Translated) Excellent !! Very good :) (Original) Excellent !! Tres bon :)
What a food....can not get better than this...guys made awesome suggestion and served delicious food...highly recommended...
I got take out, called ahead and was told 35 mins. It was ready on time. I got the Beef Bhona, Chicken Korma and a Paneer dish, the food was very flavorful and well spiced. The rice was just regular basmati and there was no Naan available which was a big disappointment. I will try them again. I had taken food out prior to the picture.
Very good food, great service as well. Food wasn't as spicy as I was expecting but it was extremely flavorful.
Delicious food and wonderfully friendly people
Take out
Food was good, very polite owner , peaceful atmosphere. Will be coming again when I come to Kingston ????????
Excellent - great tasting food, not the biggest portions but plenty for me. Some strange other negative reviews here, someone complaining about dirty cutlery in a take-out restaurant??? Ignore them, if you want good tasty food, come here, if want a big bland feed, go to MacDonalds!
Great food and service ! Very tasty and the chief adapt his cooking according to what you want (especially for the spices). Very professional, there was an oversight in our order (2 minutes lol) which has been spontaneously offered !
Great authentic food, excellent prices, lovely staff and owner.
It was a good experience!!!
Amazing food and Service. If you have a chance, go and try it.
Never disappointed with the quality or quantity of the food I recieve. The lamb saag (off menu, but you just have to ask for it and they'll make it for you) is my favourite for sure.
Amazing family and wonderful service !! So delicious
Very good service with awsome food, Must visit
Super hygienic place. Takeouts only but can eat on the front porch. If new to Indian culinary, cashier (mom) will be extra attentive and kindly guide you through the menu. Order takes around 15 minutes to make. FRESH. REAL HOMEMADE FOOD!! Don’t know whether this is authentic Indian culinary but coming from my family who are hard to persuade to try something new, we were satisfied (: Will definitely want to come back if we happen to stop by again ???? What we got: -Chicken Samosa -Veggy Samosa -Jhal Farazi (curry) -1000 Island Salad
Best restaurant in town!!!! Must try!!!
Good food great service❤️
Very good Indian food
the food is delectable- the tantalizing aroma drifts down the sidewalk from inside, and you have no other option than to follow your nose to the promised flavors! very excited for the renovations to finish (it is a mouthwatering wait for take-out), the staff are very welcoming and deliver a high quality experience each time- they'll be seeing me (and my pals) again soon~
This is one great perk of living in Gananoque. I stop by every week.
Awesome food. Excellent service.
Awesome Indian Restaurant
Quite expensive but has the best indian flavour food in thier area. Staff are friendly.
Awesome place
Although there are renevations underway. Me and my family had some great food, fast service so i didnt miss my cruise :)
Food here is great and tasty. Family owned take out restaurant. Pair of them who own this place is very friendly. Nice host for a take out restaurant, :). Chef personally took all our orders and made a very good tasting food for our entire party. We took the food to the lakeshore and ate under the sun. few of my friends went back to this place to get more food after having the lunch.
The best Indian restaurant in town. Excellent food and amazing staff (specially their chef Rahul). Was very friendly. Waiting to see the dine-in section open. Will definitely visit the restaurant whenever I visit Gananoque.
Delicious and fresh Indian food! Recommended!
Very friendly staff, food was served hot and tasty!!
We only ordered 4 samosas and pakoras and Gulab Jamun. Perhaps because I'm a Torontonian but $2 for one vegetable samosa is EXPENSIVE for a takeout place. They weren't anything special and one out of 4 samosas had spoiled potatoes inside. The pakoras were a bit too salty. The gulab jamun on their menu says they are in a syrup but in fact they are not. It looks like a neat clean place though. It is a takeout only place.
‘Authentic Indian Taste’ is the USP of the place, especially samosas. I was literally connected to India after eating them. It was so light yet very tasty, I was full still I finished the entire plate. I was on my way to Montreal from Toronto and my friend suggested this place. We wanted to take a quick stop for 10 mins. We met the owner and the chef, they were very welcoming. I loved talking with them. We spent an hour talking about lots of food stuff. I am definitely coming back next time I am traveling to Montreal. We are thankful that there are such restaurants which honor the real Indian taste.
Best indian food ever so tasty good service
Excellent tasty high quality Indian cuisine. Highly recommended.
Top-notch butter curry (with veggies!!) I eat alot of Indian food from Toronto to Brampton????, but never tasted anything like this! It's my new stop on route.. Veggie samosa is highly recommended
The hostess is very friendly and is able to suggest dishes for your taste. The food is incredible, delicious and portions are a good size. Cute and cozy patio overlooking Gananoque’s downtown street is full of planters with herbs and vegetables as well as flowers. As a gardener I loved that! Definitely a must try and a make it a regular spot kind of place.
Great meat samosa. Curries are very flavourful! A real gem in Gananoque!
Meal type
It is One of the best Indian food you'll ever eat in Canada.
We drove long way to Gananoque, a unplanned day trip. 1000 island boat tour is excellent. But the most important part that make the trip so elegant is Lunch at 1000 Curry, a few step walk from Boat line dock. The flavor of food, the test of all dishes we ordered, I actually do not have words to explain rather I can just feel it. Although it is not a dine in restaurant, I bet, barely you will find this test in so called renound restaurants. Above all owner Mr. Ben and his team is too friendly to their customers. I strongly recommend all tourists of Gananoque must have their lunch at 1000 CURRY.
food was delicious!
Service
Food was good. Usually seems pretty busy. It was roughly an hour of waiting, we were told when we ordered for delivery. It arrived some minutes past an hour but no complaints. At least they do deliveries. Would be nice if they added some disposable cutlery in the takeout too as most of people ordering to their hotel rooms are tourists. No complains with food though. Quantity and quality is really good.
This restaurant is run from home and we visited this place multiple times when we visited Thousand Islands. They serve authentic Indian food. Food is really tasty and they prepare it fresh when you order. If you are looking for Indian food, this is the place to visit in Gananoque.
Really loved and overwhelmed with the customer service.... oh my god I love the food here ... must place to try... for good indian food lovers...everything is made custom to the order and especially everything is made fresh... just wow... the indian food... I am not missing my home indian food anymore .. here in canada... Ben you are amazing... ..Bobby is also very friendly...she makes every customer comfortable and very friendly.. must try friends...
Good food... Decent prices.
Very good food and best of all cooked to order so always fresh.
Delicious food !! Amazing host. Would love to visit again.
I'm a european with some demand of good quality. I was so happy here. Awesome rate quality-price. This is cuisine.
Tried few vegetarian items and it was tasty, place is clean and the girls are very pleasant!
During holidays we needed something to eat. We found that restaurant. I had the vegetarian Palak Paneer. It is in general my favourite food. In this restaurant I had the best ever. Thank you for this.
Nice and clean restaurant. Easily accessible. Social distancing was properly followed inside the restaurant. Outdoor sitting facility was good.Food was tasty and curries were made delicious. Only thing to improve was Naans & rotis. They don't seem freshly made. So, we asked for change and the staff was quite understanding, they bring in more. Overall, a good place to dine in, in the hustle bustle of the city.
(Translated) Delicious, tasty, an excellent dinner that allowed us to discover delicious dishes. (Original) Délicieux, savoureux, un excellent souper qui nous a permis de découvrir des plats succulents.
(Translated) Really good ! The best Indian ever !!! (Original) Vraiment bon ! Le meilleur Indien jamais fait !!!
Surprise this was not s sit down restaurant, not well indicated on the rating post and pictures must come from a banquet hall since it's a take out only. Kinda feel mislead by the pics
Delicious meals, friendly service, can be a little noisy .....highly recommended!
Food was delicious. Not enough space in outdoor seating for large groups(>6) Service was pretty good.
My partner and I have had serious conversations about what we'd do if they left
Not the good choice of ingredients I would say, the gravy was not close to the Indian taste, We ordered korma and this was the worst one I had so far. Naan too doesn’t tasted fresh enough. The staff was friendly though, but very disappointed by the taste.
Very Delicious Food. Fast Service. On Time Delivery. If item is not on menu then just ask and Chef Ben Mukherjee wil make it for you. I am from India and I love Indian food. We liked the food at this place so much that we tried all vegetarian dishes over the period of two days for dinner1, lunch1, dinner2, and lunch2! Amazing food and I will highly recommend this place to everybody! The food is amazing! Note: Chef is so talented that he has been a consultant to US White House for Obama administration from 2009 to 2012
Nice place for best India food. Our order was made to perfection, just the way we asked and wanted. Place is being renovated but they are offering take outs or you can eat at the table outside. Friendly service
Very delicious food and
This is definitely one of my best places so far in Canada... not missing India anymore... blessed to have such great Indian restaurant with good quality food.. was definitely worth for the money paid.... good luck team ❤️
Our favorite place to get Indian food in the Thousand Islands
We went there for dinner. Food was amazing. My 10 year old son liked it so much he insisted to go there next day for lunch. Although we had no plan to stay in gananoque until lunch time next day,we stayed only to have lunch there.Service was good Although food was little bit overpriced. Best indian food I ever ate in Canada.
Good food, good place, reasonable price
Just lovely and very authentic curry. What a treat!
Got a take away chicken Madras, 2 nann, 1 rice and 1 poppadom. Expensive $28 for take away, more of a sit in price. Madras described as medium spice, was pretty mild. Quality of curry was good. Rice was good. Pappadoms were good. Quantity was less than expected.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Canada, every dish made very very fresh after your order.awesome food
Authentic Indian restaurant. The food was really awesome and I love it. Will visit again.
The Korma is very nicely spiced without being too hot. I couldn't get enough of it. Naan was nicely prepared, fluffy and fresh. Rice was flavorful and delightful. Nothing to complain about. Highly recommended!
Really great food and service...I can recommend this restaurant for authentic food and Bread naan was out of this world...Thanks
Wow! Had a super spectacular meal here. The food was freshly made, and the owners even customize the level of spiciness to suit how you like it. The owners are so friendly and made me feel so welcome here. They are currently a take away restaurant, but I found out that they will be a sit down restaurant (with a roof top patio, how cool is that!?) by the end of May. So freaking excited
Amazing service and very friendly owners ready to serve you and offer advice on how best to have each dish. I have been here a few times and have loved every dish. Definetly a place to have a great meal.
We had tomato coconut soup, very unique and tasty. Rest of the food was also yummy. Nice place and service.
Rudest staff
Great taste
We had a fantastic experience. We (10 people) visited Gananoque for Cruise ride. Then we came to 1000 curry for having our dinner. Food was very amazing. All the curries were so tasty, it gave us authentic taste of Indian cuisine. Naan were so soft and cruchy as well. After a long long time we had such good indian food in Canada. If I say in hindi "khana khakar maja aa gaya". We enjoyed every bite of our meal. At the end, staff was so humble and nice. All the best 1000 curry team.
Sorry to say this we had samosas but it was bit burned out.
Lamb Bhuna and beef Pasanda were delicious! The most tender meat we've had.
Rude staff...we called to book table...male attendant was so rude....when we asked that we need to talk to owner or manager he said that manager is not avilable and told us to F off and hanged up
I recently visited Gananoque Ontario. Besides being a nice quaint town we discovered a fantastically great Indian restaurant 1000 Curry. The people in the town and at the casino told us you must try this restaurant. They were so right that we actually ate there everyday!! It's the best Indian we have tasted ever! We tried each dish and wow. Thank you Chef Ben!! And your staff. 1000 Curry will be one of the reasons to return to this fine town of Gananoque. Plus it's a great area if you like walking and taking in fresh air, plus the big city Kingston only 20 minutes away is a worth visiting. I can still taste food Ben. So good!!!! All my best 1000 Curry, a very satisfied customer. And most of all the price is right!!! Pietro
Loved it...yummy food
Loved the view where we were sitting and food was good. The person who was serving us was new in this country and job. We all are new in our jobs at some point in time. She was naive but I admire that she was trying to do her best. Overall I loved it.
Great customer service and great food! Would definitely go again!!
Delish food, excellent service. A credit to the community.
Beef Madras with Fresh Naan Bread and Basmati Rice !! Great Portions and By Far The Best !!
The best curry I've ever had. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Gananoque. Service was awesome too!
Amazing restaurant and owners. Really friendly and awesome food. If you are craving good Indian food along with the relaxation, this is the place to be. Would definitely recommend.
We order take out from the Gananoque location often and are always so happy with the food. The quality & taste is phenomenal! You won't be disappointed.
Professional service and most amazing and mouth watering food ever???? Would undoubtedly recommend to anyone visiting Gananoque!
Delicious Biryani
Very good Indian food! Kudos to the chef for serving delicious Indian (Jain) food in this small little town. The chef considered my dietary restrictions and prepared a very good meal. The service was quick and the people were very warm. You desire such good service! We were turned down by multiple restaurants but 1000 Curry came to my rescue. I am happy to have dined with them. Definitely worth a try!
Worst people ever dont have a chance to give 0 starts the sevice is ridiculous and actually they dont have basic customer serivce. They are using arrogant and abusive language towards customers the food is the worst i have had. Dont spoil your thousand island trip as mine was done by these guys!
Not satisfied at all. Our mood just got off for dinner. Paneer makhani was good but naan were really not tasty at all.
Best food! Delicious!
A very good Indian restaurant to stop by... really for good Indian Food... I thoroughly joined my stop there on my way to Ottawa... I love this place.. best Indian food in canada.. nice owners..
Best indian/bangladeshi food in town. Must try...bit expensive but u will be satisfied
My family trip got ruined because of these guys! The worst ever place to go to. The food is waste of money and tasteless
Some of the best Indian food we’ve ever had. Amazing lamb korma, saag paneer and butter chicken. Delicious garlic naan with just a touch of toasty crunch on the outside and lots of lovely herbs. Mango lassis = 100%! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Expensive
Good food and good service!!! Highly recommended!!
I ate dinner here last week and the entire experience was so wonderful! I ate out on the patio which opened recently with social distancing measures and first of all the decor was really beautiful, rich yellow walls and relaxing music which made the atmosphere very comfortable but still fancy. I ordered the Meat Samosas for appetizers and Chicken Madras + garlic naan for my meal. The samosas were SO GOOD, bigger than I expected and had a lot of filling with a thin crunchy crust, definitely the best samosas I've ever had! The portion of madras was just right, generous amount of chicken and it went so well with the garlic naan, I definitely recommend them together! Each bite of the naan with the madras was super rich in taste and the spicy-ness was just right for me! (I have a pretty low spice tolerance) The service was really great as well, they double checked our order when taking it, checked up on how our dinner was going and made sure we had enough drinks. If you're in Gan and looking for a place to eat I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND eating here!
Really nice service but too oily
Very Nice food, tried chicken Briyani—- was nice and home made flavour
(Translated) Indian cuisine for fans. Be careful, a little spicy here means very spicy in my case. Sensitive languages, choose a non-spicy option from the menu. Located on main street, nice, but a little affected by COVID. (Original) Cuisine indienne pour les mordus. Attention, peu épicé ici veut dire très épicé en ce qui me concerne. Langues sensibles, choisissez une option non épicée au menu. Situé sur la main street, agréable, mais un peu affectée par la COVID.
Great Indian cuisine! It was nice to have a home cooked meal rather than the usual bar fare. Reasonably priced. Great location with patio.
When my husband and I moved to the Thousand Islands from Montreal, we set about to find a nearby Indian Restaurant to provide us with our favourite cuisine. We found such a gem in an old brownstone in Gananoque. Ben and his wife take great pride in their cooking and were happy to show us their bright, immaculate kitchen. We have picked up flavourful delicious meals on many occasions. Ben is happy to cook items not exactly on the menu for us, and customize our choices to our tastes. He does not have a permit for a tandoori oven and he admits that the naan is not made on the premises. Note that Ben’s is take-out only, but there are stools and an outside table for customers who wish to wait as the food is prepared. Not only is the food delicious, but you will be delighted by the family and extended family who help out during the busy times.
Their curry is good in taste but their naan is frozen ones which they warmed up and give to customers. I had very good hope from them to get good food but they provide me frozen naan which ruined my taste with Thisel curries. I don’t think I gonna recommend anyone to go an this spot unless they improve their quality and they are very expensive according to their food quality and quantities!
This was really awesome and one of the best restaurants in gananoque. The best food indian food so far... chef Ben thanks for opening restaurant for us... really loved the curry.. must try place for sure...
Awesome food, awesome service, would like to rate more then 5 star.....
I love spicy foods and can handle a lot but the Lamb Vindaloo kicked me in the keester. But I like it!! Along with the delicious Vindaloo I enjoyed Vegetable Samosas, Papodums and Basmati rice. All were equally delicious and flavourful! I was also given extra food for free, including a very delicious syrupy dessert. The owners and staff were very friendly, and I very much enjoyed the music on the patio while waiting for my food - very uplifting!! I enjoyed talking with one of the owners (think there were 2) about his culture and their Festival of Lights. I look forward to going back when in these parts!
My car broke down in front of the restaurant today so we left it there for a few hours. Came back at 8:30 thinking it would be slow with no cars around boy was I wrong. So the car that was parked in front of mine was the owner of the restaurant I went in and there had to be 10 people in there. I asked him if he would mover his car and with out a thought he came right out and we where off. Thank you.
Very good as usual
Food is very tasty. Better than what i have tasted in India !! First timers should try : garlic naan and lamb curry
The vindaloo is fantastic!! As is the service!! Highly recommend to those craving curry!
Food is good but very expensive
This is really good Indian food. Their curries are exceptionally spiced. We had the lamb madras and the butter chicken with garlic roti. Very tasty. There was a little wait because of a large order ahead us, to which they provided an apology with a snack while we waited.
The Indian Food created by this restaurant is unbelievable! All fresh and home made dishes! The owner is so nice both he and his wife welcome you into their establishment and give you an immediate impression and feeling that your a friend! He know's so much about the industry and the health benefits of all the different spices he uses. It's also in the top 5 list out of 632 restaurants in the Indian category of Ontario! I will be sure to go back over and over, and i never really ate Indian cuisine and now i'm hooked! Love it!
Everything was good except for naans which were not good at all
Good, tasty food available right down at the waterfront.
Wonderful place! Really really nice food and service! Worth to try.
The butter chicken is to die for. A definite must for anyone looking spice things up. If you have never tried idian I would recommened starting with the butter chicken.
“Excellent service and friendly staff, love this place.”
Bad taste. Curries are sweet.
Ben and Bobbi provide a true Indian dinner experience. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at their restaurant and it couldn’t have been better. The Madras is to die for. We have had traditional Indian meals on 3 continents and this place is at the top of the list. Ultra clean and great service. Our new favourite!!
Tried this place based on reviews but was very disappointed. Silverware was dirty, service was unfriendly and slow, and when we politely tried to get clean forks the owner/chef became very aggressive and rude. Food was OK but overpriced compared to portion size. Wasn't tasty enough to ever bother going back. I would definitely not recommend this business.
Chicken served cold, was a late night order. Also, only one bench outside to eat. Run from a house.
Tried this place for the first time tonight, very impressed with both the food and service. Our waiter Jagdish, who also happened to be the chef, was in addition to being a talented cook, an extremely friendly and hospitable server. The food was excellent, the garlic naan, courtesy of Jagdish’s lovely wife, was fresh and flavourful, the paneer pakora was done to perfection and the Chicken was delicious and tender. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
Lots of vegan options! Clean, friendly staff, delicious food. We will be going back.
The kebab was excellent and service was amazing. Would definitely visit for kebab again.
We decided to try Indian food when we visited Gananoque. We were glad we did. The food was delicious. I recommend the mango curry chicken. The service was quick and friendly.
Dinner
Great service samosas were very greasy you have to pay for everything separately no chutney given for the samosas or pakoras .we saw in the showcase the chutney was 75 cents ,but we thought that's if you wanted extra . Lots of potatoes in the curries and very little meat .
Greeted by the proprietor. He was very attentive. The food was good value, but the staff seemed to be in a disarray. I had to ask to order my food. Missed opportunity to sell me more drinks. Restaurant was in town so very convenient. I would certainly go back and try again; benefit of the doubt given Covid challenges.
Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Excellent Indian food. Great family run restaurant. Reasonably priced, fast and tasty.
Excellent
Clean place and good food
Great food 10/10. Too bad its takeout only :(
Food quantity very less, that amount you paid for food.
Great food! Will absolutely be going back!Staff are so kind and treat you so very well. Thank you, thank you!!
Food is superb! We had take out from 1000 Curries, Gananoque location last night and it is by far the best restaurant in Gananoque! We have eaten Indian food from many different restaurants from all different areas and 1000 Curries is exceptional. The quality of the food is amazing ! We can't wait to come back and try more of their great dishes. YOU GOTTA EAT HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delicious food and amazing hospitality!!!
The samosas were delicious.
Samosas were burnt and cold from inside. . Lamb curry was $18 and quantity was so less. We paid $40. We were 3 and was still hungry. Wouldn't recommend
My mom and I shared the Butter Chicken and the Saag Chicken and they were both absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and fast, and we loved the authentic serving plates that they use. We will definitely be back!
I was in a vacation trip and I was searching for a nice restaurant and I couldn't find much options in Ganqnouqe I find out this place and when I look the reviews I came to see few people had issues with the food and the pricing. Anyway I planned to go there and I had the food with my family. I cant complain anything the food was really awesome and the staffs were really friendly . The atmosphere was really awesome. I was wondering why the people's were saying that it was pricy. I couldn't find anything wrong. When comparing to other places it was convenient and I surely recommend this place to all. Once again thank you for your great service ????.
The food was incredible and far exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was also really personable and made our time at the restaurant a really enjoyable, relaxing experience. Would 100% recommend to others looking for good Indian food.
Staff is rude. Suriya handed over phone to a boy who abused when asked if table is avilable for family. I am surprised how this business still exists
Great food
Worst experience ever!! They charge 13$ for a small container of biryani without raita and there was nothing special in Biryani. Shortly just an expensive takeout restaurant with zero quality.
Must see place for tourist from outside Canada 3 hr drive from toranto
Best Indian food in the region! So, so delicious.
Very bad food. Too much spice and burnt. They just dumped a lot of spice in the curry and burnt it. Bitter and tasteless. The chicken was old and not cooked properly. Looks like they covered the old chicken with a ton of spice (mostly paprika). A disgrace to Indian cuisine..
