Exhausted with dealing with this location, I am in town twice a week and enjoy Mary Browns....... however I order and end up never getting the condiments I ask for just ketchup, and am currently eating my poutine with my fingers, most generally a 50/50 chance of getting a fork normally i bring my own from home so I can eat my food when ordering from the parent way location.but sadly forgot this time......pretty sure this will be my last order from Mary Browns Ft McMurray

(Just left the clinic and really didn’t feel like cooking when I got home) I know it closes at 9pm. seemed like a decent amount of time still... girl says sure, put me on hold for 9minutes... got hung up on... and then the phone was busy after that... so I guess they didn’t want to take my order. Now I’ll just take a drive to KFC after my prescription is filled. ????

Love the Big Mary Sandwiches, but that's only a small part of my review. I went in tonight to grab some supper after a long day. Hobbled in might better describe it. I go up, order supper to feed the endless stomachs of the teenage boys waiting at home, and sat down to wait for my order to be ready. When my name is called I hobble back up to the till, and was floored when the young gentleman working the till offered a hand out with my food. I have NEVER gotten that kind of service from a fast food type restaurant. I went for the quick easy supper, but I'll be returning because of the service.

service here has been top notch. I believe that the sense of urgency needed to provide customers a good experience has been addressed by management. I really like their food although sometimes the made fresh statement seems to not match up. I ordered two fried chicken burgers and it took about 11 minutes to produce and by the time I bit into them the chicken was already starting to be soggy and lukewarm. Now I don't think that this is such a bad thing but there is a statement of made fresh to order the fact that it took 11 minutes to bring me a burger with lukewarm chicken made me question this. I went back and ordered the poutine. This was served hot yet the potatoes could have used another minute or two of cooking. The cheese was not melting nor stringy as it should be. I will try this again and hope for better results for now 3 stars is all I can give. I must mention that the man taking my order was hustling. That is very good and I commend him for his work ethic.

What they did right: staff was polite and friendly, the place was well cleaned. What they did wrong: mistakes on our order, and several items had been friend more than once leaving them dried out and unappealing. All in all it cost too much for a meal that was mostly inedible.

This was by far the strangest fried chicken restaurant experience I've had in my life. We got our order, a 9 piece meal with sides of taters, mac and cheese salad (I'll get to that later), fried pickles, and chicken twists. The fried pickles were tasty but my god are they salty, saltier that you'd expect even for a pickle-based Appy. The twister was ok, mostly tortilla. The mac and cheese salad is just a mac salad, which is more than a little confusing when you order online. It was ok, very oddly flavoured but pleasant enough. The taters and chicken though. For being the namesake of the restaurant, I've NEVER had more flavourless chicken or taters. Ever. And I'm from the southern USA, I've had a lot of fried chicken. It was perfectly moist and well made bit not a single ounce of flavour. Even the spicy chicken was devoid of taste, aside from what was clearly just a load of cayenne pepper. Very disappointing. It was still edible, which rescues it from a one star rating, but I'm not impressed at all.

Went in for a Mary's Chicken Burger combo. The taters were good but the Chicken burger was not. Don't know if it was old flour but it was void of any kind of flavour. Aside from that, the chicken visually looked amazing and the chicken itself was moist and not dry, it was just completely flavourless. The staff were friendly and quick.

Not bad, the chicken was a little too salty, but good size and moist, good potato wedges and gravy, typical coleslaw not too my liking. Staff need to be more professional and pay attention to their orders more, need adult supervision. Were not paying attention and missed our order consequently was at least 10 mins. longer than it should have been.

I decided to try this chicken. Even though I live in Ladysmith, it was well worth the drive! I had the 13 piece bucket meal! Came with awesome coleslaw, potato wedges, and fabulous gravy. The chicken was... I'm speechless. There's not enough words to describe how AWESOME IT IS! Well worth the drive. I'll be going there from now on when I want chicken.

We are a business located close by the newly opened Nanaimo, BC location. Our team decided to give Mary Brown's a try for our Friday lunch and we were not disappointed! They took our order over the phone, agreed on a time for us to pick up and had it ready for pick up on time! The entire Mary Brown's staff was friendly and quick to help and answer questions. Arguably The Best Mary Brown's I've ever been to. I've been eating Mary Brown's since I was 2 years old, I've traveled accross Canada and the big Mary has my heart. Half the stores don't even steam their buns which should be a crime. I knew a girl who worked at Mary Brown's in high school and would get really good deals. Let's get to the point tho, this location just served me the best MB's I've ever had. Whoever is working here thank you for all your hard work! The taters were SO fresh it was like I've never eatin them before and they blew my mind. The chicken again was soo fresh, I mean the white meat was juicy and not dry one bit. The big Mary was perfect, I enjoyed both with my 2 piece meal :D Service was fast with 5 customers infront of me and very polite. Good job MB team ????

DO NOT ask to have your meal altered in any way. it seems that this is the integral linchpin to getting what you actually ordered. any time I just order the food the way it comes they get it right but if you ask for them to hold or add anything you are putting your entire order in jeopardy.

This experience was horrible. I open my Big Mary which I used to love. There was a blob of mayo in the center of the sandwich the lettuce was in the box around the sandwich and the top bun was off to the side some where. The quality and care of preparing someone else's food is completely garbage. Considering I paid $40.00 for a terrible experience in a fast food restaurant again its shows poor poor workmanship. The poutine was swimming in gravy. The fries with another combo were soft and greasy barely warm. The beverages were warm anough to be room temperature. My macaroni salad was also swimming in liquid. I nor my family will never go to Mary Brown's in Fort McMurray again. Its expensive for poor food and service.

Love Mary Browns chicken. Not greasy like KFC and nice and crispy. I've ordered the 9 piece meal and it was great. I usually go for the Big Mary it's a real piece of chicken breast, not like McD which is just chopped and formed chicken died white and if you order the meal it's actually a bit cheaper than a McChicken meal. The only reason I took away 1 star is because this time I was there at exactly the correct pick up time and the poutine was less than warm. But that won't stop me from going back.

I’m super excited then finally opened!!! Big line up but definitely worth to wait ! I got a big Mary burger, sooo good ! This is place where I get my daily lunch. Highly recommend, chicken are fresh and juicy. My kids are crazy about there fried chickens!! Staff are friendly and patiently.

Loved the chicken. Hard to tell it is "fast food". Beats KFCmystery and gives Lee's a run. Batter is light but crispy. The spicey chicken is pretty hot, so if you are like me and like some heat....it is pretty awesome. If not, go for the original. Potato wedges are better than QF and use an amazi g coating.

So excited, since I'm from Newfoundland to finally have a MB here!! I'm disappointed though that they took off mobile ordering. Waiting in the crazy long line isn't fun and you can't even call and place an order. First come first serve - which is crazy. Every other restaurant allows you to order online.

Iam so sure if Mary corporation knows how this branch is operating, they will impose fines on the owner or at least change most of the workers.

I ordered from Mary Brown's yesterday. The chicken tenders were amazingly crunchy but rather bland in taste. I also had the poutine. The taters were great but I didn't care for the supposed cheese curds on top. Real curds squeek even when soft. The ones they used were more like melted mozzarella curds.

Why haven't I tried this place sooner? We live about 25 KM away and the regular place we go has been very disappointing and always 10 cars waiting so we decided to try. GOODBYE KF... Ordering online was not the greatest experience but got through it. The staff were friendly and polite. We got a mix of spicy and regular. When I say spicy..I mean spicy. The chicken actually HAD meat, not just grease and bone like the other guys. The gravy was thick and delicious, not watered down. The macaroni salad actually had flavour! And, when I asked how much the dipping sauce was....it was free! I cannot believe it. For once, I feel like I'm getting my monies worth. I don't normally leave reviews, but this place deserves it. The food tasted GREAT. Even after a 30 minute trip (used a thermal bag) Im happy to say that this is our new chicken place. Even if it's 50 KM round trip.

SO GLAD MARY BROWNS IS ON THE ISLAND!! To each their own, with all the one stars... for those who haven't had Mary browns before, if you cannot handle spice, do not get the spicy chicken as it is heavily spicy. The taters are salty (my personal favorite) and you are better off to go order in person. The app works, but is not fully functioning (multiple people have had issues with it canceling.). I have tried almost everything on the menu, and never had a bad experience. Way to go MB!

Made an Order at 12:30 for Pick-up at 5:30 via the App. Left my house and got to the store where I find out the order was cancelled 5 minutes prior to me showing up. I called into the Store to talk to find out what was going on and received mixed explanations. The First person told me that the order was Automatically cancelled as they were so busy and that she would let their head office know about it. I asked her to have them call me and she gave me to the owner of this Franchise. I told him I was not pleased with the app and he told me that the order was not automatically cancelled and that they had cancelled it. He said it would be unfair to all the customers outside who have to wait for their order. Then why is there even an app to make orders in advance. I made that order so I would not have to wait in a line outside. This was my first and last experience with this Company. Edit: to the reply from Mary browns. I had tried to inform you. I sent a message to you via your website. I had sent this exact message as I had copied and pasted. You never responded. Glad to see you just seem to try to look like you care. I will try the email there and update.

Ordered a 9 piece combo meal, mac n cheese salad, and onion rings. This unfortunately was a disappointment. I don't remember being this sad after eating fried chicken. I was sad for those delicious breasts, tasty wings.... alas they were drastically underseasoned. The Mac n cheese side salad was but a very small snack sized, the size I'd give my 2 year old for a snack...also as someone else has also noted, a lack of cheese flavour. Gravy was also sad, but saddened with an excess of Salt. Onion rings were blatantly generic. I really was and am sad from our visit. It is only my hope that the store can revisit a few of the flavours/recipes to make this stand above as it should, as this chicken place could ROCK with a bit of flavour.

I finally got to try Mary Browns chicken last night as its always packed and I only get 30 min for supper break. The store is clean and tidy and well organized the staff are helpful and polite. Nanaimo doesn't have a lot of choices when it comes to fried chicken and i have to say Mary's chicken has the Best Fried chicken mojo's in town by far. and even though i hate coleslaw theirs is really good .A little expensive BUT worth every penny. Will defiantly be back again in the near future and will be telling family and friends to try it.
