We went for the "All You Can Eat." I have to say, I enjoyed our meal. I have ate at a fair amount of sushi places during my own travels, and Sun Sushi is good if you do not want to spend a lot of money. However, I did feel that the "All You Can Eat" price was a little much for the quality, but the prices for a menu order were reasonable.
Sushi Rolls: We had five different rolls, and they were all pretty good. My partner found that some of them were cut a little too thick for her to eat comfortably. I do agree that they were a little too large, but I they did not cause me too much grief. ;) The ingredients were fair and enjoyable.
Sashimi: We had Salmon, White Tuna, Tuna, Tuna Tataki. It was all good! I have no complaints here at all. I guess if one were to force me to provide a con, I would say that I wish the Salmon was cut a little thicker (see sushi roll con for irony).
Miso Soup: Was good. No real chunks of tofu in it, but it was cheap so what odds.
Wontong Soup: Honestly, here is the one draw back, it was the worst Wonton Soup I have ever had. The broth was oily and flavourless.
Sesame Balls: They were still very cold in the middle.
Service: The service was a little slow, but for a Tuesday night it was pretty busy. So, we should give them a little leeway here. However, they did not give me a second menu to order from and I had to hassle a server for it. They also staggered our meal awkwardly, which meant that some of us were done way before others.
Price Point 27.99 for all you can eat. For two of us it was about 64 before a tip. I felt that this was a little pricey for the amount and the quality.
Bonus: Many sushi places in St. John's do not offer all you can eat on a Tuesday, but this one does. And, you can always order off of the menu if you wish.
I would go back here again for a chill night.
