Restaurant is at the basement, so don’t expect any views. Very good steaks, and sweet potatoes are delicious . Drinks choices are limited, salad is ok. Prices are very high. You have to to be specific with the waiter/waitress about the sizes of your orders, or else they will assume you want the largest size. Sometimes they dont ask what size you want. Also, no side orders comes with the meal, they just ask you “what sides you want with that?” to make you think it comes with and then get surprised by the bill that it is separate

Have been to two locations and I loved this ones more for the open space and design. The food was amazing and I’d highly recommend the Ruth classic if you’re looking to try something from many things with a decent price tag to it $62 ($5 to sub your side or salad to another.)

We had a perfect dining experience here Friday evening. Decanted wine, heavenly Seared Ahi Tuna, flavourful steak served in a sizzling plate, creamy and yummy spinach and amazing service from Glenn who checked our table from time to time. Thank you Glenn!

Mid experience. Usually love coming here and booked for our anniversary. The crab cakes came out extremely overcooked (amost black and dry) The chicken was only stuffed on one side. Steak came with an enormous amout of fat. Brought the wrong wine. After none of this decided to discount or comp our order which came to over $350 for 2 people. Slightly dissapointing. Usually a great experience.

Mouth watering HALAL steak cooked to perfection. I am a big carnivore and order steak every chance I get. Being Halal only that often limits where I can order steak but in the last few years many restaurants have started using halal meat including creek stone beef so I have had steak at many high end restaurants. This steak ranks right near, if not at, the top. Cooked to perfection and comes out on a 500 degree plate. Many fancy restaurants barely season the steak but here the seasoning was visible and tasted excellent. We will be back! Order ahead online for Halal.

I looked at all the negative reviews first to get an idea of what could go wrong but my experience overall was great, though I never thought I'd see a side of mashed potatoes costing $14. One comment I read about this place being in the basement is inaccurate, you need to take an elevator up to the restaurant. I wouldn't say there was any negative points but certainly some....oddities. I made a reservation on Open Table which by one reviewer was a mistake because it wasn't found, thankfully I didn't run into that issue. On a Wednesday in January you'd think it wouldn't be too busy, yet the only available time was 9pm for pretty much the entire week, I thought this was because of Winterlicious (more on that later) and when we got to the restaurant it was probably half empty yet the first words out of the hostess was "Hi, do you have a reservation" - as if I needed one. But I could care less about that trivial matter. After receiving the menu's, my girlfriend and I didn't see anything regarding the Winterlicious special, had to ask for that separate menu - take that as you will. My girlfriend got the special for $53 but I decided to go all out and get myself the RIbeye, brussel sprouts and a fancy dessert. My steak was excellent, extremely flavourful and juicy, the butter wasn't over the top, and I'm no expert on brussel sprouts but I thought they were great - also a complaint a read about. When it came time for dessert, I looked at the menu and was suggested there is a "special" of pecan pie with ice cream which wasn't listed. Seemed fitting to have a $75 steak topped off with a great dessert. What a joke that was - smaller than the palm of my hand, worse than store bought and all for $17. I would absolutely love to hear the rationale of how in any way this is a "special" to not have on the menu and more importantly how that price is justified. I'd say I'm being pretty objective, the main event - the steak was excellent, worth $75? Well that is relative to one's own opinion. But I can certainly tell you a side dish of mashed potatoes is not worth $14, or what seemed to be store bought pecan pie for $17 but being regarded as a special that isn't listed on the menu. I don't know how else to describe the reservation comment any other way but weird. Why ask for reservations when the restaurant is mainly empty and almost falsely imply its busy with having a minimum time of 9pm for booking online, and this was over a week out. I also didn't like having to ask for the actual special menu for Winterlicious, if its a cost thing and they lose money, just don't participate. Its also unlikely anyone forgot as our waitress Kim stressed (a few times) a similar selection of food on the main menu but it was more money. Though that wouldn't be her fault, I'm sure that direction comes from leadership - her service was fantastic overall.

Consistently great service and food. I've been going to this location for over 10 years. The mains do not come with sides. For a variety of sides, I would recommend the sweet potato, creamed spinach and fries. If you don't have room for dessert, take it home to go.

Beautiful restaurant, my third visit...my server Lynda was amazing. If your not ready to dish out about 75$ per person without the cost of drinks ,it's not for you. Food was excellent, small portions , but delicious.

I’ve recently been holding company events at the Hilton and (out of convenience) have booked our team and client dinners at Ruth’s Steakhouse - the experience did not disappoint! I initially had no set expectations but, from the moment we were greeting to the moment we left, everything was impeccable. Great cocktail and wine selection, the appetizers were delicious and the steaks were to die for!! I would consider myself a steak fanatic and I would put Ruth’s Rib Eye amongst the best (and don’t even get me started on the Lobster Mac & Cheese). With all that said, our favourite part was definitely the service. Our server, SELENA, was amazing; professional, courteous, knowledgeable and (most importantly) a lovely human being. She made the entire experience memorable. Well done Ruth’s and we’ll see you again soon!

As for the beef steaks, they have halal options. So if you are a halal only eater, make the reservations, and find there today. OK, so let's start with the reservation phone call. Just the phone call was enough to tell how amazing their service would be. I went there for my partner's birthday celebration, and the person on the phone assured that they will take really good care of us.. So not to worry!! The Ruth Chris in downtown is underneath Hilton hotel on Adelaide. The ambience and environment, even though in the basement, is just hi-fi, posh, elegant.. It just feels like a million dollars just being there in the basement with no sunlight. The server was awesome. She recommended a few items and how to take them. Awesome suggestions and thank you. The food came, and the mouths just melted in the buttery, soft, tender, steak and Lamb chops. Each bits was a burst of juices of the meat, ensuring us that the decision we made to come here was on point. Just typing the memories of those bites is making my mouth water. So I'll stop with the food. I would highly recommend this place. Yes it's a bit expensive. Came up to $140/ person, but honestly, who cares. We love this life once.. And certain occasions also only come once, so might as well pamper yourself and your partner.. Definite go to Ruth Chris.

Went to Ruth's Chris last Saturday. Ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye and split with a friend. Ordered the Caesar salad to start. The salad was average and definitely worth skipping. The steak was tremendous. Come hungry. The other members of our party ordered steak and seafood (lobster or shrimp) both a good size and at a decent price. We ordered the corn and fries to share. The jalapeno made the corn unique but the fries were quite generic. Dessert was a piece of their lava cake and their creme brulee. Both were decent. It was very busy that night but service did not suffer. Check out this restaurant out if you are celebrating a special occasion.

This restaurant is excellent! My husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. The ambiance was relaxing and romantic, just as we desired. We don't frequent steakhouses and benefited greatly from the server's knowledge. He was very personable and made great recommendations. I had the petit filet with mashed potatoes, while my husband had the 11 oz filet with fries. Our steaks were served promptly, on a hot sizzling plate, and as promised, was warm until the last bite. We also received a complimentary dessert given our special occasion. I highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake. We will most certainly return!

Last Saturday my girlfriend and I went to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and I think I speak for the both us when we had an amazing experience! We didn’t have a reservation so we just got a table for 2 in the back near the bar. The receptionist was kind to us and greeted us well. When we took our seats, Brian took our orders, and was probably the coolest server I’ve ever had at any restaurant. He started us off with some bread as a warm-up for the appetizer. My girlfriend and I shared the lobster bisque, it was delicious! ???????? When our entrées came out I was very much so impressed! The presentation was 10/10! I order the steak and shrimp and my girlfriend had the lobster Mac and cheese. Both dishes were amazing!!! After we had finished our food, Brian took notice of my hanafuda earrings (from the animated series demon slayer) and offer to take some pics of us! He brought my dessert to me with a candle on top as it was my birthday. The night was overall very enjoyable. The server Rose was also very nice, she came by at least 3 times to check up on us and gave us some refills of our drinks. I recommend Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for any staying at the Richmond Hotel or even if you’re just in the area, a 10/10 experience all in all.

I've had all the steaks. I also had The Hollandaise and Bearnaise sauce. They were the best steaks i've ever tasted in Canada. The sauces are also nice. The price is also okay. The medium rare steaks tastes the best! I'm going to come back soon, for sure. Such good steaks, The service is the best. I might go to this location again.

I agree all the good reviews here, but the reason I only give one star is because the smell of butter inside the dinning area was overwhelming. After I sat down for less then fifteen minutes, I lost my sense of smell because I can only smell butter in the air, and when the steak came, it was bathing on some boiling butter (yes more butter), I couldn't even tell how was the steak taste like…although their service is remarkable, but I am so sorry I didn't not enjoy my time there… when I got home all my clothes were covered with the smell of butter…

Staying at the Hilton on Richmond you can takeout the food and have them bill your room. Hilton will not offer it as room service, but they ironically have them on speed dail. Great steak... but u need to take the elevator to get it ;) attached are pics of the takeout with a medium steak and potatoes au gratin. Very fresh and hot.

It was my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris, Steakhouse. Downtown Toronto at the Hilton's, we had a special room to ourselves our server was amazing, at the end of our meals she presented me with a chocolate ice cream birthday cake which i was not expecting.. obviously I was surprised. I've eaten at Ruth Chris before but the one in Markham, it was my boyfriend's first time dining with me at Ruth Chris, and he loved every single thing that we had to eat.

I attended a group event at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Service was good and food was good. Steak was very tender (petit fillet) and cooked right. The sides needed improvement - mashed potatoes were dry and broccoli was flavourless. Mushrooms were great. Bread was plain - was expecting something better on the bread front.

The appetizer shrimp was absolutely delicious and had the yummiest sauce. The 16oz steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was sizzling! Absolutely an amazing steak, the mushrooms were so good and a decent portion! The fries were delicious and a huge portion! The salmon was tasty and peppery, really enjoyable! They surprised the birthday man with a slice of cake which was a lovely touch. The service was amazing, the only thing was food took a bit to come out but not that serious. They deserve the five stars.

Great experience. My steak was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly ! The ambience is nice and dim which makes well for a classy dinner and the service was on point. Our glasses of water we're never empty. I just feel like some things are way too expensive - like how do you justify $14 for a side of fries ? I'd recommend giving this place a try for a good dining experience and to eat a great tasting steak ! Expect to pay around $120-150 a head. PRO TIP : They serve Halal Steaks too !!

The food is amazing, but the service is like no other! The servers are genuinely kind, super helpful and patient. Let’s not forget very well versed in the menu. The food was delicious! Everything from the steak cooked to perfection, with the perfect amount of blue cheese crust, and the sides just melt in your mouth too. Everything from the bacon Brussels sprouts, to the cheesy scalloped potatoes or the mushrooms and Demi glaze that is just.... drool worthy really! Had a great time. Quite the experience and will definitely be back soon!

A reliable, classic steakhouse experience. The differentiating factor here is the steaks are served on piping hot plates, coated in butter, so your first bites are really something. Solid wine selection, a deep menu of great sides to choose from and consistently excellent service all make for an enjoyable steak dining experience.

Went there for my birthday. Excellent service from the greeters to the server. If you forgot your QR , they will help you get it and send to your phone if you like. Only disappointment was it was my birthday and they brought me a slice of Sinful Chocolate cake without checking my preference?. ( I dislike chocolate cake,)

Best steak I've ever had and delicious garlic mashed patatoes. It's an upscale boujee restaurant with extremely attentive servers and food comes on 500 degrees plates to stay warm as long as possible. Great place for an important celebration!

Great experience. You feel like you’re taking back to the 1970s. With the finest level of detail, even the mints were good, Ruth Chris delivers. Highly recommend the set meal. The filet was excellent, and highly recommend the broccoli side. Men’s washroom could be more hygienic.

Been here a couple times. Service is professional - the wait staff are not the typical smiling-friendly waiters but that's most likely their intention given the ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant. The manager came by to make sure we were happy - that was nice. Washrooms are clean and kept tidy. The cook on the steak was a perfect medium rare and comes sizzling on a plate. The only thing is both steaks could have used a touch more seasoning (pepper & salt). The garlic mashed potato is nice; the baked potato, ok. Dessert wasn't really our thing but the icecream was good. The bread plate was dirty but when we told the waiter, he quickly rectified it and gave us a new one.
