Was lucky enough to visit Ricarda's almost a year ago (Feb 2020) so this review is a bit old, but pre-lockdown this was one of my favorite restauraunts. They had numerous events going on where ticket admittance (around $50 based on what event was that night) gets you inside, and once inside all meals/drinks are free! They had everything from risotto to small steaks, macaroons and fresh ice creams and a huge selection of cocktails. Ribs, oysters, grilled meats gallore, and a DJ was there to keep the party going. I've also been to Ricarda's for regular restauraunt service as well, and the service is to say the least, impeccable. The selection of wines, spirits and beers is very diverse, and within the restauraunt there is a full separate cafe with amazing baked goods and desserts. The entrees and appetizers aren't your standard fare either, the menu contains unique dishes such as grilled octopus, lamb burgers and Ontario ribeye. Although its temporarily closed now I'd say when it re-opens its definitely the place to either have an event or a quiet formal dinner.
EDIT: I had the opportunity to dine Ricarda's again. Our experience this time in comparison was night and day. The staffs were knowledgeable on the items from the menu. I had The Nevermind and it lavender was a really good combo with lemon. Our bread came really quick this time and it was warm. I think this is really important because who likes to eat a cold hard bread when they are hungry. I liked the texture of the octopus, probably because it was done by sous vide. We tried some flat iron steak and it tasted amazing. It was cooked just right between rare and medium rare, and the flavor was great along with pepper on the side. The shrimp ravioli had a good contrast going on with the corn and pomegranate that's on top of it. It felt really refreshing when you eat it together. Overall I think the food and service was great. We came on a more quiet night so the staff to guest ratio was pretty good. Upon asking I found out that they have brunch on the weekend and the food on that menu looked appetizing. I look forward to coming back for another visit soon. Original: Food and service was slow. Our party of 8 didn't get bread until half an hour after we ordered food. The cctopus was very soso, it had a mushy feel to it. The squid ink pasta was undercook, when we told the server he brought it to the chef, who later agreed that it was undercook. They made us a new plate but it pasta was still mediocre. We couldn't taste the squid ink at all. The quality and taste of the lamb felt like it was from a subpar cut. I should also mentioned that the food was very inconsistent. We had 2 orders of the seared fish and 2 orders the lamb: one of the fish plate tasted salty and crunchy (because it was seared), while the other plate was tasteless and not crunchy at all. As for the lamb one plate had pistachio crust on the lamb while the other plate had zero. The 1 star is for truffle risotto and the gelato.
In my opinion the best brunch in Toronto is Ricarda's all you can eat Jazz Sunday Brunch. It's great for a special occasion, although expensive. You get a 2hr slot and have the choice of everything from eggs Benedict to waffles, from fois gras to build your own pasta dish, from mini desserts to pastries. Wear loose clothing!! Why then 4 stars? Having been to Ricarda's on other occasions the food was good, not great for the price, a contrast to the Sunday brunch experience. I would also say service is a little slow at the brunch, but these are small complaints for an all together great restaurant.
Been excited for months to attend the Ricarda's Jazz brunch, since I am a huge live Jazz fan. The restaurant was beautiful, staff were super friendly as soon as i walked in. Our server (did not catch a name however she had tattoos with dark hair) , was amazing and always paid close attention to our table. Reason I am giving it a 3 star is because the food was somewhat disappointing. Maybe because I had such high expectations. The meat at the meat station was extremely dry, the pasta sauce at the pasta station was extremely salty and the seafood bar is alot smaller than expected. Also, on their instagram page, under the Jazz Brunch highlight, they reposted someones post saying bottomless Mimosas, with that in mind we thought it was infact, bottomless. However, their mimosas were 5$ per glass, which isn't a big deal but would've been great not to post false advertisement. Overall, I would definitely come again, the atmosphere was rather beautiful.
Great brunch experience! for a fixed price, have access to a buffet, including various stations (omelette, pasta, s'mores, crepe), mussels, salad bar, etc. Separate monitored area for children, including a jumpy castle and snacks for the kids.
This place is surprisingly excellent and affordable. Everything is made in-house. With tax and tip a lunch of pasta, salad, or a flat bread will come to about $22. Service is excellent. Free bread and olives with your order. Great spot for a business lunch or date.
We went for Jazz Brunch at Ricarda's this afternoon. The food was superb. The foie gras chef (who makes it fresh) deserves particular mention. The service was outstanding--Denom (waiter from the UK) and Matthias (waiter from France) were attentive, polite and pleasant. Overall, brunch at Ricarda's is an experience worth repeating.
Good food and service. It's been beautifully renovated. I went at 1pm for a late brunch at the end of the live Jazz performance. There was jazz music playing over the speaks, but if you want a live performance come earlier. My main waitress was not very attentive but her colleague jumped in and was great along with everyone else I met.
Great place for the sharing. I would recommend 3-4 people max if you want to share stuff. Ideally, probably 2 or 3. Each dish is quite small.
Loved my meal, got to meet some of the staff in the kitchen. The dishwasher; Steven, was especially wonderful to speak to.
Stake had no grill marks and was uniformly done, I wonder if the cooked it in a bag; haddock had very fishy smell and taste; desert was not what we expected and cheesecake was impossible to find with all works around it.
We ordered takeout this weekend and the food was exceptional. Everything from the salad to dessert was so delicious and beautifully plated. Highly recommend Ricarda's for a gourmet dinner at home (that is also reasonably priced)!
We made reservations for this place on Saturday, they have a summerlicious menu, but apparently not on weekends.... Overall the service was not that good. First they forgot to bring out one of the drinks that we ordered. Second, it took very long to bring the food out. I got the quinoa spinach sandwich and it was delish. The fries were good as well! I think the overall decor and Interior is quite nice as well. But I feel like the food is overpriced and the service lacking.
Loved this place. It's a $$$ but worth the price of admission ;). Fantastic service and the food was excellent. Not a huge vegetarian menu I think. Mushroom risotto was fab. Truffle oil mmmm. Very small selection of draft (2) but the Barcelona beer was tasty. My favourite thing was watching the mixologist. True craftsman and a pleasure to watch. Guy is seriously committed. So sit at the East end facing the bar. Pics included.
I wish I could really do no stars- but apparently these people lost our reservation of 20 people that we made 1 month prior. Absolutely terible as I was actually excited to go to a place and have a nice meal to enjoy with the kids happy and playing. They even had the nerve to charge us more when their website had clearly stated less for the meal. Too good to be true! Thank you for ruining our Mother's Day
I was just there on Sunday for their jazz brunch and it was amazing. Live jazz band was very talented and such a pleasure to watch. Food was exquisite from cheese station to pancakes to seafood to steak. Our server was very attentive and provided the best service. It was a lovely experience and I would go back although it was a bit pricey.
Went for dinner with another couple last night. Everything was perfect!!! Thank you for making my evening a memorable one. Special thanks to Andrew, Damian and the chef that made our Lobster Linguini. From table 91
Had a nice lunch here but it wasn't extraordinary. Decent food, decent service but a bit slow. Nothing wrong here, I wouldn't avoid it, but there are enough great places nearby that I'm not inclined to go back.
Best food in the city!! also an incredible event space!!!! Cant wait to see you soon
Brunch is very nice.
I attended a wedding shower there on Sunday. They give us upstairs overlook the atrium. The server are good. Making sure all dirty disks are removed as soon as they are done. They know we are walking around, so they keep all half finish plates and drinks as is so we can come back to finish them. The cook preparing the food in front of us are great. He is answer any how to questions with a smile. The food is delicious as well. We all had great time there.
My most favourite was the Black and White Lobster Ravioli (????still drooling????). I could of had another plate, it was that delicious. Very spacious, with lots of room for private functions and/or corporate events. •Black & White Lobster Ravioli •Grilled Garlic Baby Potatoes •Ontario Côte de Boeuf •Tiramisu •Brown Sugar Pineapple Cake •Assorted macarons
Attended the Sunday Brunch with live jazz music. All of the food was really good. Aye yummy brunch foods: seafood bar - oysters, shrimp, mussels, octopus ceviche, smoked salmon.. I missed out on the scallop salad. Salads, hummus, babaganoush, pastas, prosciutto, salami, primerib, plentiful desserts and pastries, omlettes, made to order eggs benny, crepes, pancakes, fruit. No complaints really. I believe the mamosas were $5 and coffee included.
Great decor, energy and extremely attentive staff. The menu is quite extensive and offers high quality selections to more modest Flatbreads and soups, all of which have a nice twist to them. Stop in for Brunch, Lunch, dinner or just a coffee. I started visiting for their amazing Flat White and the atmosphere drew me for food. Can't stress enough how attentive they were. Thanks again!
Came for here a Christmas dinner with a friend, the ambience was quite nice and service was good. We ordered an appetizer, 2 mains and 2 drinks, came to around $70 per person.
Terrible experience for Sunday Brunch (Mothers Day) - If I wanted to sit on a folding table and chair I would of much rather of stayed home. Not only did they up there prices for mothers day brunch $55 to $75 a per, I made a reservation for 3 people two weeks prior to mothers day, they make you give a credit card and fill out a form, which is totally fine, however they don't tell you that you are not going to be seated inside the restaurant to only find out when I get there that I will be seated in the atrium which is where they host weddings and private events. They advertise that its a jazz brunch which they play jazz music which I love, but because it was mothers day they got greedy and had the atrium (outside of the restaurant) set up like a picnic where they had folding tables and folding chairs in the atrium. I paid $75 a person to sit on folding chairs, which I much have rather stay home and sat on my very comfortable dining table and chairs. When we got sat at the table we where placed at a table for 8 which was a long 8ft table, for my reservation of 3 people. No jazz music in the room but a speaker to hear them play in the other room which was not the atmosphere I was looking for. One FOLDING chair was broken at our table which was pleasant. They served coffee cold, milk and cream was served in a plastic cup. The hostess tried to convince us to change us to a high top table which only sat two people but also in the same room we were still in, which was not in the restaurant. The second cup of coffee came cold, food was nothing special had no taste, not many options to choose from as well. The muffins where hard as a rock, salads at the station was barley dressed. finally I complained about the seating which I found completely insulting for the kind of money I was spending. They moved us inside the restaurant which was what I thought was going to be initially, had to take my plate of food and move now, enjoyed a little bit of jazz music, however at this point I lost my apatite and interest to even being there. We asked for more coffee and again it came cold, which we had to tell the server to please bring HOT coffee. After leaving the restaurant I had to go else where and have a meal an hour later because myself and guest where hungry. After expressing my complete disappointment in my experience the very same day by email and than a few days later by phone, the manager of the restaurant did nothing for me.
I made a reservation to come here for my friend's baby shower brunch. I actually called to make the reservation, and was told that the person that organizes the Sunday Jazz brunch wasn't in but she would call me in a couple of days. I never got a phone call so I made a reservation on Open Table just to be safe. Shortly after I got a call advising I had to leave a credit card for the reservation. I told her that I had called previously, so there wouldn't be duplicate reservations...turns out the reservation was never made when I called, nor was the person that organizes the brunch told. So good thing I went on Open Table. The restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately we were seated in the atrium, which meant that it was essentially "regular" brunch b/c the jazz band was in the restaurant, and there were no speakers in the atrium. It was disappointed that we paid a premium for a "jazz brunch" but only got half of the deal. While the food was alright, it was way overpriced IMO. I've been to other Sunday jazz brunches for the same, or lower prices, and you get either unlimited or even a couple of drinks included. Not here. They have a pasta station where you place your order and they give you a buzzer when it's ready. I ordered the special. It took FOREVER. The pasta was essentially my dessert. And the portion was SO tiny. I know I could go back and get more, but didn't really feel like waiting again. I was really looking forward to checking this place out. It was okay, but I've been to better Sunday brunches and I think I'll stick with those.
Perfect place , great atmosphere, super live jazz music on sundays
Came here for lunch with colleagues. Good options that are fresh, healthy and tasty. At least half the menu was salad or salad style items. Friendly service. Big and spacious dining hall. Tall windows letting in lots of light. My colleagues enjoyed their food. Nothing mind blowing. Just good quality food. I had the seared tuna ahi salad with watermelon and feta and arugula. I wish there was a little more tuna, but it was tasty. I would come back for a work lunch, probably not on my own/personal
I had their wild mushroom risotto and mushroom pizza. both really good. They have neat menu and loved their pastry side. Looked fresh too!
Excellent, attentive service. Beautiful venue, and well made food that is classic, with some great flavourful twists. Can't complain about the wine menu either - diverse and well selected.
Great ambience and service, we came for summerlicious but ended up ordering off the regular menu. Flatbread was delicious as well as entree but a little smaller than what I was expecting. Overall great spot and look very forward to coming for brunch.
The food was delicious, they did mess up the doneness of the steak but were very good about fixing the error and completely comped the meals. Excellent service!
Went for Valentine's Day, great service and great food! Food had many layers of taste to reach bite! Lovely bakery with mini cakes, macaroons and much much more!
The decor and set up of the restaurant is nice, however the food was average. We went for brunch. I wanted to order Ricarda's breakfast, in menu it says that we can pick two eggs any style. When I ordered my food I asked my eggs as omelet. The waitress said that I cannot order omelet. I said that its mentioned in the menu that the eggs can be any style. I asked her to ask the manager or chef about this. Few minutes later she came back and said they can do any eggs besides omelets. I asked why and she didn't give me an explanation. I had to settle with the smoothie bowl, I wanted to leave just after experiencing the rude behavior from the waitress just over 2 eggs, but stayed for my friends. How difficult is it to make an omelet? There are better places for brunch in Toronto, I would rather go there next time for similar prices but way better food and experience. I wanted to try lunch and dinner here with friends, but having second thoughts about going back. Not sure if I want to spend my money at such a complicated place.
Today’s my second visit for Sunday Jazz brunch within a month - atmosphere is great as per my first visit and food is yummy. Things were fine until halfway through our meal our server decided to tell us that due to 2 no-shows (party of 10) we are expected to pay the penalty but because we had to wait for our table past our reservation time, they will omit the penalty. I thought oh great and we were thankful but then she continued to say that the extra two seats could’ve been used for other tables to host more customers. It felt like we were getting scolded and I had completely lost my appetite after that. Look, we get it and we apologized but I didn’t come to a classy place like Ricarda’s to get scolded. She didn’t really pay attention to our table either and the other servers kindly picked up on her behalf. Happy to return but hope we don’t get her as our server!
Great atmosphere and able to accommodate us without a reservation. Our server was amazing (I wish I got her name) - clever, quick witted, and entertaining. The food delivery was fast and visually appealing. Highlt recommend this spot for both groups and more intimate occasions. The wine is Great too!!
This place is gorgeous! High ceilings, huge windows, the decor is beautiful. The staff is super friendly especially Adrian our waiter. Adrian is courteous and professional, he offered great suggestions. I had the lamb burger and it was juicy! I really enjoyed my experience here. I brought my work staff and they loved it and the food. Will come here again.
Got the flatbread, arctic char and charcuterie board. Food was ok, nothing to rave about. Service was good. The server was very nice. Again nothing exceptional. We wanted to get some aoli or spicy sauce on the side, but all they could offer was balsamic vinegar and mustard. The decor and the feel of the place is very nice, but I wouldn't recommend it for the food from I've tried. There's a stark difference when compared to a place like Lee's, but maybe that's to be expected. I'd think it's a good place a for large party where you're more focused on the atmosphere rather than the food.
Noting special, food is bland in general and the price is not worth the food. Don’t waste your money.
My full experience from beginning to end was so incredible that I am writing a review, which is rare for me. When I called to make reservations for the Sunday Jazz brunch, Rebecca (I believe that's her name) stayed late and went out of her way to ensure I secured a reservation for my birthday even though it was Family Day long weekend. When we got there, our server Farhouz (I believe) was great and took every effort to make sure my family and I enjoyed ourselves. Apart from the service, the brunch buffet was incredible and the mimosas were delicious. Lastly, they brought out a little cake for me and had the band, which was pure magic play happy birthday. They created an awesome moment for my birthday and I'll be going back often. Thanks Ricarda's for a great experience.
Came for a private event. 5 stars is something i don't blindly tap out like this is an Uber trip. The care, professionalism, and attentive nature of the staff makes all the difference. Food was great as well.
Attended Ricarda's for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. The food was amazing and a wide variety to pick from. The atmosphere was tremendous. The staff were all very engaging. Just a warm & welcoming place to go, which was really needed on a cold, winter day. Highly recommend!
Classy setting with a fine selection of food. Well cooked but don't expect to be stuffed or anything after the meal, portions lean on the lighter side
Food was good but nothing special. Not cheap either. Responding to the owner: Appreciate you reaching out. Had the Eggs Benedict which I enjoyed, but it wasn't anything special. Similar to Cora's to be honest. Also, wasn't a fan of the breakfast salad which I found didn't pair well with the eggs. And if I remember correctly was not noted on the menu (I was looking forward to breakfast potatoes). And lastly, the juice was clearly fresh squeezed and delicious. But it was also over $10 which is definitely on the high end.
This is a review for the event space (Atrium), but FYI their brunch is next-level, too. --- My wife and I had the most wonderful experience organizing our wedding at Ricarda's. We cannot say enough great things about the space, food, and most importantly the staff. Of course, the first thing we loved was the physical space. The architecture really is the decor (meaning you don't have to invest as much in tons of other stuff) and our guests raved that the space was elegant, contemporary, and well laid-out. Next, the food. No rubber chicken dinners here. The culinary team at Ricarda's are absolute pros. We had two (!) tastings with them and had a tough time deciding which of their amazing meals to include in our menu. They are also insanely flexible, working with us to create the perfect menu for our families' tastes. They also let us bring it our own late-night food. Finally, and most importantly, the event staff team is beyond fabulous. We worked with Zoe and Jennifer who bent over backwards to make sure our event was perfect. They were honourable and fair in their pricing and found ways for us to stay within our budget. They worked directly with Gervais rentals to bring it tables and chairs which was one less thing for us to worry about. On the night-of, we had a couple of grandparents fall ill and their team was so professional and helpful in dealing with the situation. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how kind and attentive the wait staff and bartenders were. Zoe and Jennifer have built an amazing team. My wife and I were just having dinner with a couple who is about to get married and listed to them complain about how inflexible their venue was and how they felt like they were being nickel-and-dimed for everything they wanted to do. We smiled because we couldn't relate even a little bit. RICARDA'S IS AMAZING. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT AND JUST DO IT. You'll forever be glad you did!
Great for a Sunday brunch with friends or family in the city. Many made-to-order food options. Beautiful atmosphere & decor.
Great space to have an event! Food and wine was delicious!
Great spot in downtown Toronto if you need a quick bite or want a nice sit down meal. Ricarda's serves delicious baked goods and some Mediterranean fare. Both dishes pictured in this review tasted great. Who would have ever thought that using banana bread for French toast would be amazing. Definitely a must try if you're at this end of the city. Only complaint, we were charged for a complimentary croissant that was offered to us. But then again, I may have heard the server wrong.
Excellent place to conduct one on one meeting. Such an airy and spacious place to do work on your own while taking in all the sunlight with the building's high ceiling. Also people working at the restaurant are very attentive and helpful with a smile.
Ricarda’s was excellent! Personable and efficient service with delicious food options. The home made pasta was delicious! Great vegan selection as well. A must try!
Amazing food and amazing dessert. Love the ambiance. You cs t really tell from the outside but the inside is spacious.
This was my second visit to Ricarda's but my first dinner experience. Compared to lunch, our dinner experience last week was amazing! My friend and I went for a relaxing dinner on an early Friday night prior to our 7 p.m. movie. After hearing that we need to get out by 6:30 p.m., our server took our orders at 5:15 p.m. and said that he could get the chef going even though the kitchen didn't open till 5:30 p.m. My order of the halibut was really good and they also accommodated my friend's dietary restrictions. The ambiance was quiet on a Friday night, the service and food were excellent and the washrooms were immaculately clean. We had two glasses of wine each plus a coffee and still made it to the theatre at 6:30 p.m. without rushing. Bravo to Ricarda's!
Is a really nice restaurant and the buffet is really good too. Oh I love the dissert.
Service was very poor at Ricarda’s, our server was too harried to pay us any attention. We had to ask for the drink menu (not on the brunch menu) ask about the croissants (not on the brunch menu), had to clarify about allergies, had to ask for butter, all the little attentiveness that a restaurant of this caliber and price point should have. Also, the bread was stale. One positive is that the croissants are great and so is the coffee, only worth going for those.
It's a beautiful spot for sure. The decor and setup is lovely. Points for a beautiful, bright atmosphere. The service has always been quite good so I can't complain there. That said, while quite tasty, the food portions are very small across the board. Also, for a place with a dedicated cafe attached to it the coffee/espresso is terrible. Even the servers warn against it.
Great food. Went for Winterlicious. The ambiance is chill yet romantic and formal yet casual.
Quite pricy, but has very delish pastry and coffees. Amazing service. Staff always extremely helpful and kind.
Amazing place for a special occasion brunch. Delicious, high end, quality ingredients and dishes. High prices, but fresh, clean, spacious atmosphere in an great downtown location.
Food was amazing! The black angus steak was one of the best I have ever had, especially with the complimenting jus gravy. The house Rioja was full bodied and reminded me of Madrid. We were equally happy with the staff and ambiance - if you are ever in the Toronto downtown Peter/Queen Street area it's a must.
Came here for winterlicious and summerlicious and enjoyed both experiences! Very affordable course meal with a modern and upscale feel / ambience to it. Food quality and portion is surprisingly good. Would definitely come back!
They have pastries, cookies, sandwiches and drinks. Courteous staff.
Me and my friend had a great experience at Ricarda's. Ordered octopus Appitizer. Very soft, rich in flavours, just delicious. One of the main dishes came oversalted. My friend couldn't finish it. The waiter apologized and offered to remake it. We didn't have time to wait and he offered us free desert. That's what I call a great service. We got Pavlova. The portion is big enough. I never tested anything like it. It has such a great combination of different taste layers. I keep craving it since. Can't wait to come back to have it again.
Great place for afterwork drinks. Fantastic selection of food, coffee and pastries. There is something for everyone. Happy hour is from 5-7pm 50% Cava, wine and beer.
Food was pretty good, the waiter was really nice.
We went to Ricardo's for their brunch buffet and were rewarded with such a tasty treat. Prime rib was superb, the roasted potatoes are perfection. Custom omelettes and bennies, savoury pancakes and a seafood bar were just some of the highlights. Too full to even contemplate the pasta bar. I want to go back and hit all the stations I couldn't fit in.
I like this place, there food are good and very nice service. One star deducted was a waitress tried to adjust the ox ribs preventing it from getting flipped on a dish bare hand on her way serving to customer.
Awesome location! Perfect for brunch on the weekends and I recommend to swing by on Wednesday for the kitchen party.
Great food- 5 Stars!. Not a 5 star total because we sat close to band and quite noisy. Enjoyed the music just loud from where I was sitting.
I ordered the lamb burger and it was stale. Meat was ground to mush and felt like it was previously frozen. Honestly a McDonald's hamburger tastes better. But service was polite though they had a delay with my order i do not fault them.as i was with a large group.

In short: Server got wrong order and charged me for the wrong order (more expensive). Server did offer me dessert but didn’t have time for it. I went to Ricarda’s on a Tuesday noon (October 15), booked a table for 2 at 12:30pm. I got seated right away, in a bit squeezed table with full tables on all 3 sides of us (the other side is the wall, we didn’t have window table) when there were a lot of other empty tables around. I’m ok with that. The server came around, I ordered Pan-seared Scallops and my coworker ordered Lamb Burger. It took awhile for the food to come out, my coworker got his lamb burger, but I got halibut & octopus - wrong order there. The server apologized, I only have 1 hour lunch and in a rush, so I accept the halibut & octopus without asking to switch to my scallop order. I said I ordered the last item in the Lunch menu, the server said halibut was the last item in the main menu, so she got it wrong. The food was good, my coworker seemed to like his burger, my halibut and octopus were also decent. I asked for the bill and the server asked if we wanted dessert as her treat, but we were in a rush for meeting at 1:30pm so we declined. I got the bill and got charged for the halibut, which was $5 more than the scallops I supposed to get. As the wrong order was the server’s mistake, I think I should get charged for the price of the scallops, not the halibut. If only I had more time for the restaurant to make me the right order (and charge me for it, obviously), or have more time for the dessert, things could have been better. However, I did not expect to plan time for wrong order or dessert. The 3 stars are for the interior design and the quality of food. If you’re a food reviewer, choose a table near window and you’ll have pretty photos for sure. Not sure about great services though.
Came for the Monday $2 any drink (espresso based) special and left with a flat white and a beef sandwich. A beautiful but overly priced restaurant/menu. The sandwich was crafted well, a bit over salted with the finishing salt though. The flat white was strong and could use a bit more micro foaming technique. All in all I would come back for the coffee. There are tables that surrounds the restaurant on the outside for those grabbing from the quick-to-go counter. This is nice since it is a much more toned down relaxed environment than the beautifully designed upscale on the inside. More sustainable methods should be considered since their bins are always overflowing and well, looks really bad with all the paper cups, plastic lids, stir sticks etc that are clearly going to the landfill. Would love to come for dinner but the menu and the price, to me doesn't seem worth it. Just my two cents.
Fantastic brunch. Pastries unreal. Make your own s'more station is key.
The food is constantly fresh and tasty, workers provides great customer service. I loved how clean it is and mood. I highly recommend this spot.
Amazing place, great service, awesome food
The vision behind this experience is inspiring. Thank you for providing 4 generations of my family around a dining table and I, a wonderful afternoon. We delighted in your delectable cuisine that is serendipitously perfect in menu choice, quality and portion. The 3-piece jazz ensemble was intoxicating. Once again, thank you.
Beautiful space with open concept kitchens where you can see the chefs at work. Restaurant/bakery/cocktail lounge/ study space all under one roof. Their summerlicious menu featuring the pork terrine, chicken tagine and dacquoise was simply divine. All dishes were flavourful, fresh and beautifully captured the different flavours from the Mediterranean regions. All dishes were prepared laboriously using the best methods and ingredients. Service was exceptional.
Went for brunch with a friend and had a great experience! The food didn't blow me away to be honest but I only tried two items. Service was top notch!
We had our lunch there for sunday jazz AYCE. For $60 per person, Not worth the money. Lack of choice and very bad quality food especially their seafood was terrible. If you are going there for seafood, don’t waste your time and money. There is tons of many good places to go with this budget. They stopped filling oysters from 2pm. And we couldn’t get water till 30 minutes after we sat down.
Had the Summerlicious menu and it was pretty good! Portions seemed small at first but by the time I polished off the last of the dessert I was quite content. Aloof yet competent staff. Attractive decor. Only real issue is the noise... Not a single soft surface in sight so the sounds amplifies quickly. You will be yelling on a busy night.
Food is really delicious and healthy! I had the marinated salmon and avocado toast with golden beets and quail egg with a side of quinoa salad. Staff super nice. Food is not expensive. A great atmosphere. Best place for healthy food after a great workout at Barry's bootcamp.
We went on a Tuesday around 6:15 PM. The restaurant was about half full. The interior of the place was spacious, clean, modern, and bright. Very beautiful with an open kitchen area so you could see chefs at work. Our server was a friendly, professional guy with a cool mustache that offered suggestions based on his experiences. They started us with some red pepper dip and an assortment of breads, which was very nice. The food itself was brought out decently quickly and tasted great, although the portions were pretty small. The presentation of the mains was beautiful. The quality was present even in the receipts, which were attached to a custom Ricarda's postcard. If you are looking to eat a lot when considering the price and the portion sizing, I would suggest looking elsewhere. If not, then this is a very cool experience in a great setting with high-quality dishes.
This is an edited review. I went back to the restaurant after a not so great experience the first time. And I can honestly say that I am glad I did. At the end of our first meal, the manager Thibaud was very gracious in explaining the situation as to what happened and invited us back for another visit. On our second visit, we went for their much lauded jazz brunch, and it was a legitimate feast. The service was on point, everyone was attentive and cheerful. Our server Hillary, was exceptional. The chefs behind the food stations were friendly and helpful. The chef de Partie in the roast meats and seafood was very welcoming. The selection of food was delightful and everything was cooked to perfection. The raw seafood bar was a main attraction. The jazz was lovely, the kids playground area was amazing. Overall this was a fabulous experience. We felt that we were on a resort, while still being in the middle of the city. Kudos to the entire team !
This place : I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s huge. Lots of tables. It’s posh - everything looks and feels great. The servers are so friendly. They have a great selection of beers. The food: I ordered the seafood pasta which was so impressive - it’s one of the best pasta I’ve ever had. The dessert - I got tiramisu again just absolutely fantastico . They have patio seating too.
Southern Mediterranean food (Italian, north African, Greek, etc) in an industrial loft style setting. Ambiance is great - not too "King West" but still fairly trendy. There are a few sections to the restaurant - the dining room, a lounge, and a market area with a bakery. The menu is fairly eclectic for a Mediterranean menu, which is nice, but I found the food to be good, not great. The wine menu was fairly extensive. Probably the most impressive element was the service - our server was impeccable (I didn't have to touch our wine bottle once, but never felt he was overbearing). All in all it was a good meal but I don't think I would go back, as the pricing was a little too high for the food/experience. I dont mind an expensive meal so long as the pricing feels fair, which unfortunately it didn't in this case.
The Sunday Brunch is excellent. Great spread, good service and the ambience is wonderful. Unlike some cramped brunch places downtown, the place is spacious and airy. The live music is unobtrusive and the children's dedicated playspace (with a bouncy castle!) is a great way to let kids run around and play while parents get to eat.
One of the most amazing food and service experiences in Toronto. Their fresh salads are out of the world. I believe they might grow some of their produce because their tomatoes were extremely tasty and sweet. Please try the seafood pasta. It reminded me of South Italy and the taste of the sea. Simply well made and tasty. Vegetarian options: Mushroom risotto 10/10 ????
Nice atmosphere and definitely liked the architecture of the venue with high ceilings. The yummy bowl is the smoothie bowl and highly recommend. Fresh juices are also amazing
It's a huge space but it has their front of house well planned that it feels intimate. Loved the food and wine list. Really high quality food that manages comfort and uniqueness well.
Loved it! What a great vibe! On a cold winter afternoon, I met a friend here and had a hot toddy at the bar to warm up.. Great and friendly and knowledgeable service. After a business chat, I moved to the coffee bar for a late afternoon latté. The food menu looked great - I'll be back for a meal very soon.
I came for summerlicious last night for dinner and had a mediocre meal at best. I'm only giving it 2 star because the dessert (Hazelnut Goat Cheese Dacquoise) was truly the only salvageable moment of the night. My friend and I arrived on time and from the beginning we felt our server was neglecting us. Perhaps maybe because we didn't order from the wine list or additional dishes? Lets say he took the liberty in giving us all the time in the world to decide our orders for the evening. Throughout the dinner service he briefly checked up on us to ask us about our meal and never asked if we needed anything (maybe a refill of water?). It definitely took some effort to try to find/flag him down to get a refill near the end of my dessert. Even asking for the bill and waiting for him to get the machine took like a century. In the end being ignored isn't a total end of the world, but when dining at a fancier establishment one expects at least the basic standard of service. My friend and I are pretty patient individuals and aren't fussy, and this soured our evening together.
Service and selection were excellent. Only complaint was some hot food to order items were cold though. Loved the ambiance.
Very satisfying winterlicious menu. In all aspects. Very courteous staff and the short rib was just incredible. The cheesecake was fine. Regular prices look a bit steep and less choice of Belgian beer. That's a personal choice.
I am surprised Ricarda's is not more popular. The decor here is modern and swanky. There is a nice bar area, a bakery section that bakes bread fresh every day and a very nice dining area. The prices here range anywhere from mid-range to pricey (just under $20 for pasta dishes, high 20's for mains, and anywhere from around $40-90's for big sharing dishes). You can definitely get a great meal here at a reasonable price. Me and my friend ordered: - Bouillabaisse ($26): This is a different type of bouillabaisse where the soup is separated from the seafood. I got a good sized portion of fish, mussles, clams, prawn and scallop. The soup itself was very delicious (intense lobster bisque flavour, not overly salty). The crostinis provided were a perfect complement to the soup. Yum! - Honey braised lamb shank ($28): Also a very good dish. Lamb shank was braised well (tender) and was very flavourful. A good portion of tabbouleh and jeweled pomergranate rice were given as sides and they were both very delicious. I have heard mixed things about their seafood brunch but given my experience here for dinner, I am definitely looking to come back again and would be more than willing to try their brunch at some point. Definitely recommended! Update: visited again for dinner and ordered the duck breast - super yummy and looked great too! I have a feeling Ricarda's will be one of my go-to restaurants from now on ???? Check out @instantonium on Instagram for more great eats
Nice restaurant, very spacious, great atmosphere and super nice staff...! It was my first time during the winterlicious program, which had a chance to try all 3 course for two. All was tasty and delicious. Salmon and lamb shank wee our main meals which well cooked and tasty. Dont miss dark chocolate tart too Spent great time with very calm vibe. Everyone there was really nice and welcoming. You should try the winterlicious menu for sure...! ????????????????
Awesome food and service. Great menu.
My wife and I just had an outstanding experience over dinner at this excellent restaurant. The service they provided was incomparable, the food was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked, and my negroni was delicious. I couldn't recommend this place more enthusiastically.
Ricarda's opened a few days ago, and it's a must go! The waiters are lovely, attentive and knowledgable. The food is great; well-prepared and good value for money. The stuffed chicken is the best, and the grilled chicken skewers were perfect.
My husband and I came here for the very first time to dine for dinner. It was the most wonderful first time experience. Our waitress, Shannon, was very attentive and had the best recommendations for us! We were also VERY fortunate that the owner herself was there at the time we were dining. We had the opportunity to introduce ourselves and have a small chat with her. She is a very sophisticated and humble woman. This is definitely our new favourite spot. Will be bring our friends and family when we get the chance as well as highly recommending this establishment to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.
It was a last minute decision but we were incredibly surprised how amazing everything turned out with this Mediterranean themed restaurant that focuses on French cuisine. We only ended up with a reservation because our first restaurant was full. The decor is exquisite, we sat in one of white marble tabled booths with a wrap around seating area which can easily sit 8 people. The opposite side was lined with classic French charm, black gloss tables adored the south side. It is a very open space environment feels very spacious. The kitchen is close by and the chefs can be seen preparing your food. There is a bakery across the kitchen that I'm assuming is open during the day for passer byes. Servers were polished in appearance and manners. Really small details we all noticed made the experience that much more amazing. Our waiter even sported one of those fancy vintage curly mustaches that definitely made us forget we were in toronto. Once you place your order you receive a basket of fresh bread with a red pepper spread, it's unlimited through the night and it is all baked and prepared behind us. We started out with some KW Ciders, which went well with our meal. The alcohol beverages are extremely well priced for a restaurant of this magnitude, under $4 per drink. We started with 2 flat-breads, Vineet and I split the Orbetello with prosciutto ($18). Narysa went solo with the Toulon ($18), which had 2 eggs on it. Both tasted great, but Orbetello was a definite winner. We also got a side of Truffle & Thyme fries ($6) which were also delicious. Our mains didn't disappoint in size, presentation or taste. My palette isn't quite use to the Mediterranean and for that reason i wasn't as satisfied with my dish as i could have been. I settled on Moroccan Chicken Tangine ($19) which came with a rice pilaf adored with fresh nuts and fruits; it was quite bland as it lacked a sauce in my opinion. Vineet decided on Crispy Red Snapper at ($24) with a side of Garlic Mash Potatoes ($6) and sung praises of how tasty it his snapper was. Once we cleared our food, we still had the basket of bread but we had a sweet tooth, but full as we were we decided to give a Ricarda Tiramisu a try, just to try their dessert. And what a taste feast this was! Rich and flavorful texture, crispy chocolate waffers with crispy chocolate wrapped layers of cake. While I am not a fan of desserts I found my way eating this quite easily. All in all we all extremely happy with everything. Our bill came to $155.38 after taxes. This is definitely a place for those wanting to impress their dates, spouses or clients. And for the price you can definitely foot the bill and be well remembered as long as it's your parties first time ;)
A really great meal! Will definitely be going back for another special occasion dinner. Delicious and unique options. Lots of vegetarian options also available. Fresh fish was so good and the flat bread was amazing. Very sophisticated seating and great ambiance
One of the best brunch buffet's I've ever had! Amazing food and service! I'll definitely be back soon!!
Sunday jazz brunch does not disappoint. Oysters, foie gras, salad selection, all the baked goods are so quality. Legit. Worth it. Great for special occasions ????????????????????????
A stunning interior meets mediocre & awkward service with totally lackluster food. We unfortunately brought an out of town friend here and left embarrassed and hungry. The price of the meal definitely doesn't measure up to either the food, the experience or the taste. Will never return.
It is one of the best restaurants in Toronto downtown. A very huge hall and nice party space. Service is really awesome. Hope to see you Ricarda's soon.
My friend and I had the lamb burger today. Unfortunately they were out of french fries so we stuck with a side salad. It was very basic and relatively flavorless and tasted like they had used only olive oil as a dressing. No salt and pepper on the table. The Lamberger came and it was really nicely seasoned, but the soft flavored cheese and a dull flavored caramelized onions didn’t contribute anything to the burger. The bun was Beautiful to look at, but far too thick and difficult to eat for the size of the burger, and was also kind of crumbly and felt like it was baked yesterday instead of being fresh. The atmosphere was great and it’s a busy spot for lunch, but at least today’s selection was not anything spectacular. Some tables around us had the flat bread served and they smelled and looked amazing so I would definitely try that if you’re a first timer. Sandwiches and flat breads or even advertise on the glass outside even though that is only four items on the entire menu. I didn’t see any sandwiches anywhere on the menu which is unusual if it’s advertised on the front windows. I probably won’t be back because there are too many wonderful restaurants in the city to try one a second time after a mediocre dining experience.
Ricarda's has a good selection of fresh pastries and fancy sandwiches. The portions are small, but well crafted. I enjoyed the smoked salmon bagel and croissants. There is ample seating and the space is beautiful
Absolutely beautiful venue, lots of washrooms, open concept where you're right around the chefs. Half cafe lounge , half restaurant! Came for lunch ( missed brunch as that was too early for me lol ) you will be given free bread with a sun-dried dip to start. We ordered oyster chicken Garganelli, yummy but never been to fond of pesto. Oyster chicken apparently is a tender cut of the chicken. Otherwise yummy. Loved the salad, sorbet and Israeli couscous. Will come back to definitely try the lamb burger. Servers filled drinks without us asking. They'll also give you a post card without leaving. Probably the best service I've ever had in a restaurant. Management has very dedicated and friendly staff! The ginger tea was more lemony than ginger tho. Make it stronger next time please! Can't wait to come back. Expect to pay more for dinner than lunch but that's common sense !
Nice place with good food, but a little pricey for what it is.
Amazing Family Jazz Brunch with Bounce Castle and tons of toys! Fantastic buffet and a la carte option + option of beverage buffet with wines, caesars and cava!
Amazing Sunday Brunch spot while the city isn't busy
Ambiance is nice the food is a let down. They need to take the sign down of best croissant in town. Food-very bland, small portion sizes, not very filling. Atmosphere- nice Price- overpriced for the food quality Service- extremely slow but servers were very nice and accomodating.
Great location and environment for a lovely date night or friends chatty night. Salad is so good with crunchy bread and tasty dressing.
Such a warm loving and welcoming staff who even on the busiest days did not hesitate to bring a smile and cheery attitude! I was pretty devastated when my company had to move! Amazingly cute and yummy pastries and their lunch on the run is a very good deal! Would definitely reccomend!
Very neat and convenient restaurant. They provide generous meals and for fair prices. I loved the food very much and the staff members were very welcoming and informative. I recommend this place.
Dropped by for their Sunday brunch buffet with friends. The food and service was excellent. Our group had several kids of various ages, and they all found something good to eat. The building had a small kids entertainment area in the back lobby which helped keep them extra happy.
Excellent service, great ambiance, food mediocre - plating was excellent but the starter/pasta/main were a little bland needed more flavour. Nothing wowed me but the dessert.
A well lit restaurant in the heart of the entertainment district. Not too many vegetarian options but an interesting menu for meat eating foodies. Good coffee and wine.
We had a large party for our Holiday lunch and it was great that the kind folks at Ricarda accommodated us. This is a spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant that opens early and offers a wonderful variety of coffees, tasty baked goods and amazing good food modern Mediterranean dishes!
Beautiful restaurant. I had "The Egyptian" pita really good sandwich. Service was great. The croissants are soft and flaky like they should be. I will be coming back here to try some of their other offerings.
1 of the 2 servers we got weren't very sure of their own offerings (sweetener and birthday discount policy) BUT the food was quite satisfying considering the price. I really recommend the lamb burger.
Great spot for brunch, great food, Jazz band and it was not overowded. Staff were all friendly, one even gave us a tour of the food bar. Few places do eggplant right, they got it. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee....I should have had a late.
I came here this past Sunday because I was driving around the area looking for parking to go to another place nearby for brunch. Saw the sign of best croissant on their window, and decided that I have to give it a try and see if it’s indeed good. I went in for a cappuccino and a croissant. Since it’s Sunday brunch times their pastries are smaller in size, so I got a cannoli as well. The croissant was very good, but the cannoli is another level!! It has crispy shell, and light and fluffy ricotta cheese filling, with chocolate bits and I think candied orange. Pairs soooo well with the coffee!!! The cappuccino was very well made as well. I can tell the barista takes pride in her craft! Thank you for such a lovely treat!! I will definitely come back to try their brunch, lunch and dinner menu as well. If they put that much care in a coffee and a pastry, their entrees should be quite delightful to partake as well.
In the heart of the Clubbing district, is Ricarda, near Peter & Queen. Their Sunday brunch menu offers charcuterie boards, 3-meat carving station, and even foie gras. It’s a flat fee for all the food stations, salads, raw oysters, patisserie, but drinks are extra (latte, beer). The front entrance was not visibly accessible (maybe the ramp is on the side). Interior has an upscale feel and if you can get a spot in the atrium, the better. The live jazz duo provides the atmosphere with lively but not head pounding music. Bathrooms and general upkeep is only decent for this price range. They accept American Express, no valet, and self parking means a 5-10 minute walk.
Amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious.... Ricarda's is a new favourite of ours and will be included in our itinerary on every visit to Toronto.
Magnificent place, super delicious food, great atmosphere, awesome people, wonderful experience!
Elegant, classy and delicious. Everything is made from scratch and Mondays they have a deal on any type of coffee for $2 :)
Ricarda's is a classy establishment for a girl's night out, a dressy date or a business meeting. (I think they film Suits here sometimes?) The decor is tastefully curated, in a non-pretentious way. Even the lobby is upscale. They served us bread with a red pepper hummus which I'm glad I didn't fill up on, because I had the lobster roll (3) with skinny fries and loved every bite. My table also ordered off the tapas menu to sample the meatballs and caprese salad, which was a whole lot of hype for not very much food. The service was fantastic and our waitress was one of the most attentive people I've ever met. We totally overstayed our welcome but she was gracious and let us chat long after we had finished our meals. For that, I might be back to try their bakery.
Food and service were overall good. Some dishes were a tad salty. The Blueberry Angel Food Cake was amazing.
After being offered a position in this new restaurant and having been taken away from a permanent chef job , I was retrenched 1 week short of 3 months. They said they can't afford me. They contacted me to meet them for an interview and made promises that they never kept. They let go most of the original staff including the Head Chef, Assistant General Manager and general Manager. The owner was from Germany and on his visit kept saying I'm doing a great job. Then they gave me notice. Not a good way to treat their staff after we helped setting up the restaurant. The owner might have a lot of money, but that is not the way to get a good name . I enjoyed working there while it lasted. They just needed staff to help set up the restaurant and after they used us , let most of the staff go. I should never have left my other job. This proof that the grass is not always greener on the other side and never trust what your employer tells you. It is all lies
Very nice place you can visit and enjoy with your friends or co-workers. Good food and good service. Nicely cooked and prepared food. Portion is very small though.
Thoroughly disappointed in this place. We had booked a Summerlicious reservation on a Saturday for Lunch a few days prior to our visit only to find out that they do NOT do Summerlicious lunch on the weekends. They did not call us ahead of time to let us know, nor did they have any warning about the dates Summerlicious ran at their location. When we got there and sat down at the table we learned that the promotion was not going on at that time of day and our waiter even told us that it was indicated on the website. After checking three times, there is no notice anywhere. We were so disappointed. They didn't even have a lunch menu at the time we went and only have a brunch menu. We left and went to another restaurant instead.
Really good food, service not so much. I made reservations for two people and when we arrived we were taken to tiny high top table between the coat rack and the bar. It was actually insulting. It was busy but we asked for one of the other table we could we was free (it was still in a less than ideal spot, but at least not by the coats). We were told no problem, they will clean it up and we could sit. We waited for about 10mins (awkwardly standing the middle of the restaurant where we were left), the hostess came back and told us we actually cant sit there because it was reserved. This really made no sense because NO one would reserve that table (it was also somewhat jammed). I refused to sit there and suggested to my friend we leave. The hosted then said she had a great table for us and we were then taken back of the restaurant by the condo or office building inside entrance and to yet another crappy table completely out of the dining room. I felt like a second class citizen and was very insulted once again. I could not figure out why this type of treatment, since both my guest and I were dressed nicely, and are no strangers to out neighborhood restorations in the area... Hungry and annoyed, we stayed. We then waited about 15mins for the waitress to come, while we watched other people that sat down after get served both drinks and appetizers before we were even acknowledged. We ordered our drinks and mains at once. Drinks took about 10 mins, food (fish and steak) about 30...to give you an idea we came in at 7.30pm we got out food at 8.20... Again food was good (but very small portions, and I do not eat a lot). Overall, annoying experience and because good service is something that is a must in this industry, I would not go back. So while the food us a 4 start, the exeriance was overall a 2.
Not your "cheap" eats lunch venue but with that being said, the food is well worth the price. I've been here a few times and haven't yet had a time when the food or the service was bad. Although I haven't tried the whole menu, their lamb burgers is fantastic and the slice baguette and a avjar before your meal comes is a nice touch. As if needed they have a "grab and go" section for sandwiches, coffee, etc...
Service was awful. Menu was overpriced. Waited for over an hour for food, all of which came out at the same time (appetizers, tapas and entrées). Compensation (comping our tapas) that was promised to us in lieu of poor service was reneged when we finally got our bills. Upon seeing a friend who was also dining that night, shared an identical story about poor service and late food. Definitely wasn't the dining experience we expected.
Private event, food was excellent and service was great too.
Decent brunch menu, but have to give 2 stars for service. We were a party of four, and were given a table at the entrance. When i asked if we could sit at the table near the window (also free and for 4 people), the hostess hesitated, then said it was reserved even though there was no “reserved” sign on the table. We were at the restaurant for about 2 hours and that whole time the table by the window was empty, so the hostess obviously lied for no apparent reason. Not coming back.
Food was very mediocre. Textures: fine, flavors: boring and almost non existent, plating: very nice. Staff is nice though but definitely not worth the prices.
Hands down the best brunch I’ve ever had. Food was incredible, service was amazing and the restaurant in itself is beautiful. Very clean and organized. We were treated to a fabulous time, definitely coming back with friends and family. All together we had the Marinated Salmon Toast with Avocado, the Steak and Eggs, the Croissant Croquet Madame, Blueberry Pancakes and Banana Bread French Toast. Would highly recommend all of them!
This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment you cross the door a big smile from the staff welcomes you to what I can assure you is going to be a great experience for senses. The whole atmosphere assures you that you will be serve with high quality food. Open, airy, brilliant and clean kitchen allows you to see real masters working just for you. One of the things that really impressed us is that capacity of the team to listen to the customer's needs and improve themselves. I have had the pleasure to be there for dinner and every time a go it seems like the restaurant is getting better and better. In each occasion we had the luck to be attended by Lucy. She didn't limit to just take our orders from the menu she went way ahead inviting us to try different things...she managed to describe each dish in such a exquisite way that we wanted to try everything! she is just perfect. I can highly recommend the two most recent dishes I tried: Boullabaisee (for those that love seafood!!) A beautifully presented broth, clean and full of flavor served with a variety of different seafood pieces by one side as well as a delicate seasoned butter that can be mix with the broth enhancing not only taste but texture (a married made in heaven). And if you really love desserts, please ask for the Assiette Gourmand this is a piece of art presenting little sample of desserts prepared in-house. By trying this amazing plate you will have the opportunity to taste smart and well executed desserts....when you see them you will know that an real expert work on them. Thank you to the team for making each visit special!
Fantastic room with a large open kitchen. Great service and a good menue to choose from. Great for sharing. Looking forward to trying their Sunday burnch.
This place is literally out of this world. Absoloutley fantastic and a true treat. With fresh bread and incredible coffee, who wouldn't love this place. A true favourite.
Went for winterlicious 2019 and had a fabulous experience. Service was great and the food was even better. I got the baby gem and salmon salad, Moroccan seafood tagine and the st. Honoré pastry. The flavour of each dish was standout and delicious. Presentation was also on point.
Great place. I've been a regular visitor of this place and I am a big fan of pretty much all the menu items. Their customer service is top level. The pastas are out of this world. Their Breakfast menu is also really good. I've also met the owner when he was setting up the place. He was quite nice and introduced us to his family and also gave us a free meal as being one of the first customers. Although charging for butter during breakfast is the only odd thing I've come across. I highly recommend this place.
The Sunday brunch is phenomenal! So many different food stations to choose from, and so much freshly picked ingredients...you won't be disappointed! We came here for a brunch and they even had a blow-up castle and play area for the kids, which was supervised by staff. Very impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere! Will come back for sure!
This place continues to be my go-to for a high quality meal in a non-pretentious atmosphere. Amazing service and MEMORABLE dishes. Absolutely A+
We got sat down outside the restaurant in a lobby area because they ran out of room - even though we had a reservation. We sit around for 15 minutes because no server has come to the table and we were not provided menus. The server finally comes over to tell us they're not running winterlicious today, they should really make that more clear on the website. We came for a $28 prix fixe menu and he offered us $60 brunch.. Waste of my time.
Saw this place listed in a blogto best new places to try post. Ordered the lamb burger and prochutto wrapped chicken. We split the two dishes and are absolutely blown away! The burger was grilled and seasoned to perfection. Probably the best burger I've had in the past 5 years or so. The chicken was the real hero of this entire experience. I've never tasted a chicken breast that delicious. You have to try it!
Tapas was fantastic but they mistook one order and didn't provide the exact order if 8 items. Wait staff are friendly and energetic.
The Saturday brunch menu was decent but while the food was tasty, it was nothing to write home about. They had run out of three of their four main entrees at 1:30 p.m. Dessert was delicious. Our server was beyond patient with our large party of 7 + 2 infants and she deserves a medal. But we waited an HOUR for our table...so settle in. At the outset I’ll say - my party was very late for a 12:30 p.m. reservation. I arrived right on time but the 6 other women joining me were very late, leaving me alone to hold the table. I understand a table cannot be held for a long time at a busy restaurant - it’s absolutely ridiculous to expect that - but I wasn’t actually seated at the table yet. When I arrived, our table wasn’t ready yet & I was seated in a waiting booth. I was not at any point told I would not be seated without my entire party, which I know is a policy at some restaurants - this is relevant for later. Also, had I been told my reservation would soon lapse if everyone hadn’t arrived within a certain time frame, I would have understood and I’d have told my group that we’d have to wait in line or find another place. About 15 mins in I was told the customers at the table were “lounging” but it wouldn’t be long now. No one else from my party had arrived as yet, so I didn’t mind. 45 mins in, I was given no updates on my table and only one other person from my group had arrived. At this point the hostess walked by once again saying it won’t be long now and I responded with an “alright, because it’s coming up on 45 mins now.” Up until this point I had been silent and not inquired about our table - even though I’d been waiting a ridiculously long time. She then says “Just so you know we normally don’t hold tables for such large parties for more than 15 minutes.” I was NOT pleased at this sudden attitude. I’m reasonable and I don’t expect tables to be held forever when people are running late BUT 1) They did not even have a table to “hold” because it was not available for an HOUR as the previous customers were “lounging.” 15 minutes into my wait, the hostess came and told me exactly that. So there goes the apparent 15 minute hold policy. 2) There was no reason to “hold” the table as I was there ON TIME. They would not be holding a table for my party - I would have been sitting at it getting progressively more livid at my friends for making me wait and ordering a few mimosas while I furiously texted them. 3) IF I could not be seated without them, this was not communicated. The reason I was not seated was because there was NO TABLE to seat me at, not because they were “holding” a table till my entire group arrived. Even once my entire party arrived, we waited a while longer for them to clear and reset the table we’d been waiting an hour to get. So all in all, everyone was late by an hour and I would honestly not be writing an irritable review had the whole reservation process not been absolutely futile given the hour long wait despite booking, had the hostess been more communicative or at the very least not tried to pass off the blame of the ridiculous wait time on me and my party, thereby setting a bad tone for the entire afternoon from the outset. A few perfunctory “sorry for the wait” lines were thrown in as we were shown to our table, but not much else by way of apology or making up for the ridiculous wait. They literally did not have a table to seat me at for an hour despite making reservations. That’s the bottom line. Even if everyone in my party had arrived on time, we’d have ALL been waiting an hour for that table because clearly they’d overbooked and didn’t have a table for us the entire time I was waiting there. Maybe don’t overbook or if you have “loungers” - politely hurry them along - like we were as we rushed through a 1.5 hour brunch since it ends at 3.
Went for Sunday brunch with my wife and 3 kids (ages 16, 9 & 8). The fact that they had a kids play area on Sunday was awesome. Service was decent except that we had a loud group of ladies who of course were drinking so when they arrived our server turned most of her attention to them. But for 60 dollars a head I would have expected the food selection to be well let's say a bit more plentiful. The items were in my opinion quite limited for Sunday brunch. I did enjoy the omelette with foie gras on the side. I went up several times for 2-3 pieces of tasty foie (minus the plain omelette). Cold seafood bar was ok, breads a bit hard, and the live jazz and atmosphere is essentially what you pay for. Overall an ok experience if you want the ambience over the food.
How this venue isn't on more lists as a top wedding location in Toronto is shocking!!! Attended a 350 person wedding here and it was perfect. Food was amazing drinks were great and the space is stunning. My only criticism would be that parking is costly. However, there are multiple lots surrounding the restaurant so finding a spot wasn't an issue.
Good food, ghastly service. After dropping every course on the table at once, our server left us with nothing but bread plates. We asked three times before we received all the cutlery place settings we needed. I had to get up and ask a manager for proper plates. The table was constantly littered with dirty dishes and spent drinks. When dessert was dropped on our table I had to ask the server, "Will you clear our dinner plates?" She dropped eight spoons and dessert places in the centre of the table, and we were just relieved that we had the proper plates. The food was well executed, but the dreadful service ruined the experience.
Went for "Winterlicious" a 3 course meal for set price of $43/person. Includes appetizer, main entree and dessert. The food was very good!
After sharing my disappointment around a not so great meal on Valentines Day, I was told that what I experienced was far from the norm, and that Ricarda’s was worth another shot. I decided to give it another try and was completely blown away by the food, ambiance and service. The dishes are crafted thoughtfully and prepared expertly, the vibe is the perfect balance of cozy and lively, and the service was perfect. We will definitely be back (again).
Open concept space. Would not be a place to go for a quiet business lunch or dinner. Staff was very friendly and highly attentive. Had the lamb burger and was somewhat underwhelmed.
Came here for dinner during Summerlicious and was very impressed. The beautiful decor and moderate number of diners on a Tuesday night created a very pleasant ambiance. We opted for the patio which was nice as it was a small space that felt cozy yet still intimate. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would definitely recommend lunch or dinner during the weekday.
Best flatbread in the city! Great location and amazing service.
Went for winterlicious, I got scallops, shawarma salmon and a pear chocolate dessert. The scallops didn’t taste like much, the salmon was good, but not sure why it was called shawarma salmon. It had no shawarma type quality. The dessert was great, and the best part of the meal. Restaurant and decor was lovely, but food portions were really small (but presentation was beautiful). Everything was nice but food-wise, nothing extraordinary. We got burgers after. The Food: 3.5 stars The restaurant decor and presentation: 5 stars
I celebrated my birthday here, and everything is perfect. The food, the service, the atmosphere. The servers are well trained, warm-hearted, friendly and careful. I enjoyed it very much. P.s, they have birthday cake with birthday message! That’s very sweeeeeet!!
Came here for a birthday brunch with 8 guests and loved the food, service, and atmosphere. Jazz brunch is a definite must-try! Our drinks were always topped up and the servers were very nice and accommodating. Thank you!
Got Sunday brunch today. Excellent service, impressive setting and ambience with lots of space, high ceiling and plenty of natural light. Good supply of a variety of high quality food and drinks. Simply outstanding.
We work in offices above the restaurant and call this place "Retarda's." It takes 6 staff members to make an iced coffee (which is $6) and they still manage to spill it. Woof. Would not recommend to a friend.
Attended a wedding here last night, as a member of the wedding party. The venue is stunning! Great architectural details made for a beautiful ceremony, the restaurant was perfect for cocktail hour, and the reception service was beautiful. They had attentive staff that easily handled our requests, and kept everything clean and organized throughout the evening. The food was artfully prepared and delicious. Beet carpaccio was a new dish for me and I could eat that every day. So happy with everything about this venue! I hope to come for brunch one Sunday. It comes highly recommended. Great job Ricarda's!
Went to the Halloween party that this restaurant had in their main lobby area. It was extremely disappointing! We never get this upset about a night out. The washroom line was incredibly long and the wait was more than 30 minutes. The drink line had no order and the units they poured were not standard shots it seemed. We only went to this event because this restaurant seemed reputable. We are very upset and want a refund. It's shameful to have an event with your name on it and have such a disorganized nightmare. We will never be back. Also, during the party, we told a manager and she didn't even care.
Ricarda's has great ambiance and is one of my favourite Sunday brunch spots in Toronto, with a live jazz band and incredible assortment of foods to select from. Breads are made in house and are absolutely delicious. For the coffee lover, I was also surprised to see it score high on my personal list of best cappucinos in Downtown Toronto.
We went for Jazz brunch. The ambience was great, service was close to perfect, food options were decent, unfortunately we found it too pricey for the food quality. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but we were expecting more.
I personally feel Ricarda's is doing something that has not been done before, with their food, services and environment. A well managed team and great food on top of that makes this place one of my favorites. Also the grab and go sandwiches are incredible, perfect for lunch on the go and the taste is top notch
Great place to hang out! went for Sunday jazz brunch, very friendly services with delicious buffet. Fresh seafood, salad also amazing desserts! Couldn't ask more for the Sunday morning. Also they have playground with staffs, so the parents can leave their kids with them and have nice and peaceful brunch in the morning. The kids won't be hungry, because they have kids buffet in the playground! So enjoy your brunch!
Visited last week with a friend for dinner! We got the 5-course tapas menu. They took care to bring out in order from "subtlest" to "strongest" flavours, which was thoughtful. Very warm and inviting atmosphere and service. It's more on the upscale side without being pretentious or unapproachable. I would highly recommend. Our waitor was especially lovely, and created a wonderful experience for us!
Went for the winterlicious menu and the flavours were all so unique! My only complaint is that my entree wasn't hot. Other than that, the service was friendly and atmosphere was great! I had the wild rice veloute, bouillabaisse, and opera cake.
Ordered the pesto kale pasta on Ritual, possibly the smallest portion of pasta I have ever paid for. It tastes okay, nothing spectacular, but one would need at least 2.5 portions to feel somewhat full.
My everyday place for the best rye rolls for take away and make awesome sandwiches with smoked salmon at home! Friendly staff, great selection of freshly baked pastries and bread.
Our family enjoyed our brunch here the other week. The service was wonderful; very attentive staff. The dishes were all well prepared and presented; we especially enjoyed their flatbreads.
Great food! Fresh and quality ingredients. Venue is nice and trendy.
No doubt the place is beautiful with some super fancy menu. Would have loved to see some more options. We were a group of 12 and everyone felt the selection on the menu was very limited.
Highly recommended for brunch. My wife and two friends enjoyed Ricarda’s on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The restaurant also featured a jazz band. The seafood is highly recommended.
Great place for brunch. Elegant and good food. But the cocktails are over priced for the quality and taste.
Really great food and atmosphere! Service was very quick and the waitress was very friendly. Highly recommend the grilled octopus and beet burrata. The beef pappardelle was excellent and the rack of lamb was amazing! The tiramisu was very good as well. Overall, I would highly highly recommend this place!
Just amazing! Sunday buffet brunch is heaven on earth. Live band and great food. All you can eat oyster, fois gras, steak..etc. what can be better!
Food is okay-ish. The service was slow even though the restaurant was half empty. It's a nice atmosphere and very comfortable but nothing to write home about. I expected more for the price of some of the entrees.
I had heard some great things about the brunch at Ricarda’s so I picked this spot for brunch. The experience was underwhelming at best. The food left much to be desired and the service was very good but only when you could get the attention of the staff that was spread quite thin. I would have loved to try the Sunday brunch but I’ll likely go for the coffee and the live jazz and stay away from the food. Really bummed to be leaving a bad review :( Food: My friend ordered the eggs benny with smoked salmon and I ordered the Shakshouka. The food took about an hour to come to our table, which, in their defence was almost understandable given it was a full house. Aside from the fact that it arrived cold, the focaccia bread was burnt and tough, the shakshouka (if you can call it that) had a rubbery texture, the roasted pepper and tomato sauce tasted like watered down pasta sauce, and the salad was underdressed and tasteless. The only redeeming part of this dish was the goat cheese that came on top of the nearly raw eggs. If you want to try a proper shakshouka, I highly recommend Cafe Landwer. My friend didn’t seem to mind his eggs benny but I can’t comment it as I didn’t bother trying. Service: The service is the reason why I added an extra star to the review. I could tell the restaurant was very busy and everyone was trying their best to keep things running smoothly. My only gripe was how slow it was - it was about 2 hours into our meal (1 hour after having received the food) that someone came to see how we were doing, at which point my date’s plate was almost empty and mine was almost untouched. When the manager noticed, she came back to see if they could offer anything else but I was happy with the gesture and didn’t ask for anything else as I had lost appetite. She kindly took the shakshouka off the bill without question.
Great food and nice service. I have had dinner and brunch there now a few times and have never been disappointed. Yummy yummy food :)
Chill vibes, excellent service. Food was bland though. Hopefully will come back to try something new.
Very nice french place! It's a great combination of coziness with contemporary style. Food is yummy. I loved my lamb burger! Drinks are amazing as well. Staff is friendly, very helpful without being sticky. Will definitely go again.
Exceptional service; lovely staff with big smiles and super attentive!! The meal was deliciouss, we got the nicoise salad, mushroom risotto, and a quinoa and spinach burger with spinach and everything was super tasty!! To finish we had a flat white and a fresh ginger tea to detox a bit from the heavy cheese. It was not too expensive for the quality of our food and everything tasted super amazing. I really enjoyed it! Tucked just right under the shopping on Queen St W. Super amazing, I’ll be back!
Ricarda sunday brunch is amazing. Fresh foods and very noce pasta and fruits and decent servers. It’s pricey but once in a while it’s really good. Me and my friend recommend it
The food was incredible, the space was beautiful and unique; each section of the restaurant was different. It was also very nice to go to the attached bakery after brunch.
Excellent service, food was great too. Definitely my go-to brunch spot.
3rd time visiting this place and never disappoints me. Always provide awesome food and good atmosphere
Went for the Jazz Brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday with our 9 month old child. We had an amazing time. The service was exceptional, super helpful and friendly. The food was delicious! I would definitely come back to this location again.
I went to Ricarda's yesterday evening for their Kitchen Party event (on Wednesdays). Although I loved the concept, I loved the atmosphere - I wasn't impressed with the service, nor was I impressed with the food. It was just okay.
The ambiance is nice and the service is pretty good, but that’s all I can give it. Food is nothing to write home about. Tomatoes with the Buratta were not ripe and so had no flavour. Spinach tortellini had very little flavour as well. The worst part was the price though. $24 for three little pieces of tortellini as a main?!? Either drop your prices by 50% or double/triple the portions!
Long over due review but here it goes. Came in with a family friend from Taiwan and ordered a ton of dishes to try. The staff picked up on this and even sent us a few "samplers" their chefs whipped up on the house for us - what a nice little treat! Food speaks for itself (as you can see from all the other reviews, it is excellent) bur really wanted to highlight the service here - the service really pushed this review to a 5 star. Way to go Ricarda's!
Had an excellent Sunday morning Jazz Brunch. There is alot of selection of breakfast and lunch items. Highlights were roast beef, salmon and chicken but we also had eggs and bacon and pancakes. It is an all-you-can- eat buffet ???? Music was live jazz and was not intrusive. Noise level was conversation friendly. Service was excellent. We plan to return in the spring ????
I went here for a couple of drinks and some small plates at the bar. Their beer selection is inadequate, but their cocktails and wine more than make up for the beer. I find it's a nice little place to have a drink and some small bites. I did not have dinner here, so I can't comment on that. However, the small plates I had were terrific.
Just attended brunch on Sunday with some friends. We arrived on time and had to wait in the empty atrium until they prepared our table. Server was really nice but had so many tables to cover we didn't recieve as much attention as needed. Variety of food was fine but nothing amazing. We ordered eggs benedict as we were hungry, they took forever to arrive about 45mins or more. They had been given to another table, once reordered we got them quickly...it was one egg on half an english muffin on a saucer plate. So disspointing. Mimosa's were the best thing about this brunch & they're in addition to the brunch cost, for the money we spent I can't recommend this spot for brunch. The stars are for the mimosa's & the jazz.
The food was tasty enough, I was just expecting pintxos. Ordered three pintxos and was pretty disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, as it was nothing like Basque Country. Each of the pintxos were small but served on a big bed of greens, "salad plate" would've been a more accurate description.
Went there for a private event for brunch on a Sunday. Place really nice, food is fresh and delicious, and customer service is amazing. Food is served as open buffet with different station that you can walk around and explore. Staff working there did a great job making sure we didn’t need anything more. They had someone play the cello and they also have a kids area and a bouncy castle for little children to play in the back. Highly recommend it for brunch. Need to check it during other times of the day.
They have good menu. We tried there food , dessert, coffee pretty much everything. Food was really good. Coffee was really nice. I think I appreciate there dessert collection. Our server took us to pick from there dessert area. One asian lady(I think she was chef too/ manager) at pastrie counter was bit aggressive. So, The europian pastrie chef(beautiful accent) got involved and was super nice. He came out and talked to us gave us some details. Loved all the desert he presented. Overall good experience.
Average food.. typical chain like quality. The baked goods were limited and looked like something Tim Hortons would sell but for half the price. The coffee is also average. We got lavender latte and didn't taste like lavender at all . If you can't make it just don't offer it. We informed the server about the latte and she went back and asked for modifications but it still had no taste and we just moved on. The tables are a bit old and have scratches. The servers were fake-nice but attentive. We got French toast which I don't recommend, Ricadas breakfast looks sad and steak and eggs. If you ever go here which you shouldn't, get the steak and eggs for its quantity/ quality for the price. The washroom looked good and was clean. We were there on a Saturday and were asked to leave by 3 because they had to setup for an event.
Very good food. However the service is polite and friendly but not very efficient. It is not about bad will but It seems that everyone takes care of anything, so evidently sometimes nobody does. They should organize a little bit.
Design and ambiance is absolutely beautiful. However, I was very disappointed in their chai latte and lack of beverage menu.
Delicious!!! The lobster sliders were amazing and the tuna salmon duo tasted so fresh!!!
Great cappuccino. Finally. Also, really nice interior and friendly staff. Don't hesitate to try any of their salads. Love them.
I came with reasonable expectations for brunch on a Saturday, but was disappointed from the get go : tables and chairs were scratched cheap wood (typical garbage furniture you now found everywhere in N.A. in ex-nice hotel chains for ex...) and both our tables were wobbly , which was fixed by our (very kind) waiter with... napkins he took from a drawer in the main room in front of us... Apart from the baked goods that were good, the food was very average at best...The setup is nice and the staff helpful, even if they were struggling to keep up, but when you cut too many corners it's hard to hide it for long
The jazz brunch is the best we've ever experienced and we've been to many! They combine so many nice foods in one place, it's a foodie's paradise
Lovely pastries and good food. Friendly wait staff. At the higher end of the spectrum for business lunch but there is a fast meal take out counter. Friendly helpful service.
Great spot... brunch is awesome, decor is amazing and the food is yum! The price however is up there. Worth a try despite that however.
Flatbread is just another word for awesome pizza here. This is fine dinning at a budget. We had appetizers and main dish and desert average $50 per person. Immaculate presentation and Devine tasting dishes. The fish was excellent and the beef was so tasty and soft while the truffle risotto is a must. The place is both stylish and cozy with great friendly service. Our server Megan was so helpful and friendly. I hope I got here name right because she really deserves a mention here. The portions could get some boost and I only say that because every thing tastes sooooo good.
Lovely spot for a beautiful brunch. Staff is well versed on the menu to help you navigate any allergies.
Delicious! Order the eggs benedict with salmon you won’t be disappointed!
WINTERLICIOUS 2020 WARNING - while the food was delicious and service excellent, I got and am currently suffering from food poisoning. I ordered the smoked duck breast, lamb shank, and lemon rosemary cake. I speculate that the culprit is the burrata that came with the smoked duck breast. it is also definitely not anything else I had eaten in the day. prior to this event, I've never had food poisoning in my life. for a restaurant of this calibre, this is unacceptable, hence the 1 star rating. it's a real shame because my party and I had a great time.
Came here for a dinner previously, and a wedding banquet for this event. Food was good, service was as well, would have expected slightly more from their dessert quality but was decent.
Before you attend Ricarda's $60 All You Can Eat Sunday Jazz Brunch, just know that you're also paying for hair in your food and unprofessional and rude customer service from your server. I was there a few weeks back with a large group of 15 people. Yes, as you may have guessed, tip is automatically included due to the size of our party. One guest found a hair in her coffee cup. Sure, things happen, no big deal. We flagged it to the attention of our server who's reaction was simply to remove the coffee cup without uttering a single word, not even an apology. She walks away and silently replaces the cup with a fresh cup of coffee, but again, no apology. Two other guests found hair in their pancakes. It was at this point I asked to speak with the manager who did apologize and tried to explain that they cannot control whether hair of guests end up in the food since it's an open buffet ... gross... but wait, the hair was in the coffee cup - that's on staff. And hair was IN the pancake, that's also on staff. Hearing this, the manager did speak with the kitchen staff to ensure they were wearing the appropriate hair nets and he did offer compensation in the form of free desserts to go or a drink. Partial compensation of the bill would have been preferred, along with an apology from the rude waitress. Know what you're really paying for before shelling out $60 bucks. Overall, the buffet offers a variety. The pasta station is bland and the sauce is watery. Despite the hair, the blueberry pancakes are easily my favourite. They're fluffy and the perfect size for sampling.
Hosted a 400+ person even here. Been for the jazz brunch. Enjoyed drinks at their bar. Consistently AMAZING and personal service. Great quality and wonderful ambience. A great spot any time of day!
Beautiful ambiance excellent customer service had a coffee and dessert wide menu selection. Nice evening to chat with friends with suttle music in the background. If you are looking for a brunch spot they do offer a Sunday Jazz Brunch too definitely will go back.
I had my wedding reception here in Sept 2020 (yes, during covid!). It was the first event they had since the start of the pandemic, but honestly you would think that it was their 50th event by the way things were handled! First of all, Ricarda's is one of the few venues we contacted that responds in a timely fashion. You don't have to chase anyone for a response or make a note to follow up with them. The communication is 10/10. Second, Ricarda's makes things happen! We inquired about creating a custom dish from our hometown. The Chef called us shortly after and we were able to customize our menu. Not only did they make the dish, they EXCEEDED our expectations. This brings me to the next point... The food is INCREDIBLE. Everyone was raving about the food. The Chef is very experienced (and personable!), which is obviously reflected in the final product! All in all, 10/10! Thank you Ricarda's :) Special thanks to Lauren, Zoe, Chef Julien and Michael!
Brunch was amazing! Selection was good. The only issues I had was the sitting time was too short and the jazz band made it difficult for conversations and they didn't serve any lamb :(.
Amazing Saturday brunch. Not more expensive than other places and the food is just amazing. The pastries are like the french one ... Had a really great time and will return for sure ! Didn't try the sunday brunch but seems a little bit expensive ( $ 50 + tax and tips) however it's all you can eat...
Was disappointed with this visit to Ricardas. Service was off as was the quality. Had eggs Benedict for brunch and the bread was hard to cut into. My friends had the same problem with their avocado toast. Very disappointing!
We stopped by Tuesday night and we were told they didn't have the ala carte menu, instead they had tapas night.....I was so disappointed at first! We came from far away... so we didn't really want to leave just because of that. So we decided to give a try. Yanek our server, was absolutely attentive, friendly and funny, he made our experience to be above and beyond of the expectations. Thank you very much for great service and food. We will definitely come back!!
Very fancy place for business or formal lunch/dinners but quite affordable. The flatbread is very filling and a must try.
I’ve eaten at the restaurant once only but go to the cafe quite often. The pastry and coffee is good, the food was on the pricey side but delicious and the building itself is beautiful!
Came here to celebrate my birthday and I have no regrets. The customer service was amazing. All you can eat buffet had a lot of selection. The pasta is fresh and made first thing in the morning. The eggs Benedict are made to order it’s the best one I’ve ever had from anywhere. There wasn’t anything special about the desserts but my birthday cake was the best part, the cake was really good and it was a nice surprise. The manager came around the tables to check up on everyone. Also it’s nice that they had kids plates and cutlery for them and of course the bouncy castle was the best part for the kids. $5 mimosas for brunch which I did have one. Comfy seating, thank you for a great birthday.
Great atmosphere. They are known for their flatbreads and pastas. If that sounds too heavy I would recommend sharing a flatbread with the table to start. You wont regret it.
We visited Ricarda's with family before a musical performance we had tickets to, and it was the best choice we could have made. The atmosphere and interior design is beautiful and the service was excellent! We tried a selection of their freshly baked goodies, shakshuka, couscous salad and traditional eggs with bacon.. everything was delicious.
Disappointed with the waiter. We went in a large group for two friends' birthday. We wanted to pay for their bills since it's their birthday. When it was wrongly calculated and we brought it to the attention of the waiter, the waiter told me that they had very little time, needed to turn over the table and asked what I wanted. Well, I want the bill to be correctly calculated. Sorry if that is too much to ask, for 18% gratuity.
Loved this restaurant! So beautiful inside and very clean bathrooms. My boyfriend and I tried the prix fixed four course menu. The risotto and octopus were so delicious. The server was incredible and left nothing to be desired. I would love to return once Toronto reopens. The space at the back for events is also beautiful!
I wasn't very impressed with the website and "judged" the restaurant after that. Until! I went to the restaurant and was wowed from start to end. The ambiance, service, food, quality, etc. Everything was impeccable. I will recommend this gem and come back again soon.
Went there with friends on a Saturday night. Very nice atmosphere. The food is very tasty. Will certainly go there again. The staff is very friendly.
Came in with a large dinner party (13 individuals), service was extremely poor as the restaurant was severely understaffed. The restaurant was about half full, yet it took an hour for someone to come take our orders, and another hour and a half for dishes to start coming out. While I completely understand serving a large table is difficult, servers intentionally ignored our party in favour of servicing other tables at a more consistent and frequent pace.
Went here twice in the last month, once for brunch on Sunday and once for dinner on a Saturday evening. Brunch was great, there was a make your own s'mores bar, make your own pasta bar, unlimited oysters and many other selections. The service was great too and it was super busy. When we went back two weeks later for dinner our reservation was at 6:30pm which most of us from our group arrived on time for. We left at almost 11pm. Which I find kind of ridiculous as they were not as busy as the Sunday brunch. Our table was not ready for maybe 15 minutes or so. Our server Meaghan seemed nice enough, although others in my party mentioned she rolled her eyes at them. We waited until maybe a bit past 7:30pm to hear the specials as we wanted our entire party to be there, although our last party member arrived around 7:15pm and we still had to wait an extra 15 minutes or so to hear the specials. Overall our party was a group of 10 and as most restaurants they charged 18% grat for our group automatically. Because of how long everything took that evening I disagree with the automatic charge. As we were a big group we had an array of dishes and tried a lot of the menu which included: the duck, the cornish hen, the baby octopus and the big grilled octopus, the steak, the boulliabase, and the two specials which were pork belly and a seafood pasta. The food was okay but overall we've decided not to go back for dinner only for the sunday brunch. As myself and my boyfriend had the duck and didn't really enjoyed that we relayed this to our server and she was nice enough to ask if we would like anything else. I personally did not like having to continue to look for the server to ask for water and how long it took for our meals to come. This would of been a 5 star review based on the brunch experience but after the dinner experience it has changed my opinion.
Visited by the Alvares family yesterday Feb 7, Amazing and friendly service and lots of enthusiasm shown in the staff interaction not to mention, the most delicious 3 course meal and choices of food offered and prepared to perfection. The lamb shanks were succulent to the core and other course choices just as much enjoyed by us celebrating a joyous occasion of a birthday. Thank you all so much, you’ll totally made our evening worthwhile at Peter Street, #Winterlicious Toronto. Thank you ! Odelia Alvares.
Went for the Gout De France event, my first time at the restaurant. Had a great time - food was phenomenal, staff were friendly and professional and the atmosphere (the dining space, lighting, overall decor) was perfect. Even got to meet the manager Michael (who was very friendly and welcoming) and Chef Flora (who was present for the event and was also very friendly). Although my experience may have been influenced by the event, I will be returning. Highly recommend.
The restaurant itself is actually very gorgeous. We stopped in for brunch and the drinks were delicious. The staff was very sweet, but the food wasn't the greatest. A few friends had steak and eggs, which they said was super. We had Ricardas breakfast which wasn't so great. Otherwise everything was excellent.
Went here for a Sunday brunch with my wife and 2 kids (4 & 1). Firstly they offer free Nanny service for Sunday brunch which is unbelievable. The Nanny's are extremely friendly and caring towards the children. The children have their own little selection of food (tenders, vegetables, pizza etc) and the play area includes a bouncy castle, toys and a variety of activities. Coming to the main brunch...just wow. Huge selection of breakfast items and lunch items including made to order pancakes, eggs, omelettes etc...lunch includes a variety of meat, seafood, salads, flatbread, pasta and so so so much more. Great service and solid place to visit for special occasions. Food tastes fresh and amazing! Highly recommend!
Great quality of ingredients and well prepared. Sunday buffet is pricy. Enjoyed the live jazz brunch!
Terrible service during Sunday brunch. They charged our 2 and half year old for sunday brunch despite what they put on their website "Kids ages 4 - 11 enjoy for $28 and kids under 4 eat for free".The server did not clean the table regularly and full of attitude. Staff seemed very confused and rude.
I visited this restaurant for Winterlicious. I ordered a salad that featured duck, the vegetarian pasta for main and a dessert that had dark chocolate. The serving sizes for all the dishes seemed to be just right and left me feeling extremely satisfied. The desert was surprisingly nice (and I'm not a desert guy) - tip: don't eat each component of this dessert individually, instead take a small portion of each together as one bite. This restaurant is definitely worth revisiting.
I love the atmosphere of this place! It's a good night to have a girls night out and just go for drinks. The service was amazing and the waiters are attentive
Place is beautiful, but meals are a bit overpriced for ehat you get, also their summerlicious menu lacked in comparison to their brunches
Sunday Jazz brunch is delightfully decadent! $55 AYCE...they have fancy stations set up, including: charcuterie, cheeses, chilled seafood (tiger shrimp, mussels, scallops), roast beef and salmon and build-your-own pasta. Yes, they have your typical breakfast fare of waffles , pancakes, omelettes and eggs benny too! Eat, drink, all the while soaking in live jazz... This is a must-do!
Went for dinner two weeks ago at Ricardas and the "R" made sense because the service was retarded.. I asked the somm for an advice in italian wine because my mom is from italy and he kept pushing me for spanish and portuguese wine. I explained him that I only wanted Italian wine and he ended up making me feel uncomfortable amd patronising me infront of my table. The food was awful and the cocktails were meh. I would never come back to this place I feel bad for the staff working there. My recomendation would be byblos the food and service is so much better. Whoever is managing seems to be needing to take some advise from those restaurants
The interior is modern and hip. You can choose to grab a coffee to go or sit in. The staffs there are accommodating and welcoming. I had a very good experience, definitely would recommend this place for coffee with a friend, client, and co-worker. Also coffee is great!
I fell in love with the cafe and bakery of Ricarda’s, and I’m especially fond of the beautiful coffee cups. Love their design and colors! There’s also a beautiful atrium right in front of it where you can enjoy your drink or food.
Had a lovely dinner experience here! The lady who greeted me at the entrance was really friendly. My waiter Jecques was very attentive to my needs and executed fantastic service! Food was good too! The scallops and mushroom ravioli was delicious. :)
We had an amazing chef table experience in Ricarda's yesterday. It was the best I had in Toronto. The attentiveness of the staff was outstanding. The food was more than delicious.
Amazing flatbread and fresh tomato salad. Had the smoked perch with mushrooms which was ok. The Cornish hen was delicious and fresh cut friea to die for. Great ambience aw well. Servers were very helpful.
Ate there on a Saturday evening in the bar area. Service was awkward, dishes weren't cleared well, so our table was crowded. Found a hair in the lobster slider, still charged full price and it was boring. Asparagus was delicious but served in a bowl!??! Skip the prawns, uninspired. Pea soup with a scallop was the stand out dish. Scallop wasn't well seared but still tasty.
Decided to stop by before a movie, since we have about 45 minutes to kill. The waitress greeted us and seated us quickly, and went on to promote the "recommendations" (aka highest $$$ value items). After we said we are just in for a drink and small snacks, our table was serviced less and slower. Our drinks came quickly, but food took forever!! Steak came at around 20 minutes after ordering, which was a tapas of 4 pieces of bite size beef ($16). And the order of churros came 45 minutes after ordering. When I asked the waitress whether it was possible to cancel the order since we are in a rush, she insisted it will be coming soon (which took another 10 minutes). I also asked if I could have it to go, she simply said she will give me a box on the side to pack it (but shouldn't it be packed for us if it is not out of the kitchen yet?!). In the end, it was packed up for us and we were still late to the movie, but I will not revisit with this kind of service at this price.
Came for the Jazz Brunch and I was super impressed! It's expensive for brunch, but the food was spectacular and totally worth it. They even had fresh seafood including giant shrimp and foie gras
It was fantastic. The food was phenomal and the atmoshphere and architecture are beautiful. Only issue was that I told them I needed a table for three but then when our table was ready, it was only for two and we had to wait again. That being said, it was only a few more minutes. I'm sure it was a small hiccup and the food definitely made up for it. I will be back and will recommend my friends despite the hosting issue.
Service and staff were great. Very attentive to even the smaller details. But the lack of flavour in the food was something that over shadowed the night. Perhaps the kitchen had an off night. I split the lamb and the beef cheeks with a friend. I’m tempted to give them another try because of all the positive reviews, but I’m on the fence still. It’s not a pricey restaurant but it’s not cheap ether.
Mediocre food, limited veg options which is odd for a Mediterranean restaurant. Had to modify all parts of the meal. Went for lunch and had a grilled bread 'pizza ' with avocado and arugula. Was just ok. Won't be back. Better quality food for the price at Fresh nearby. To respond...I only eat vegan options and if all I ate was lettuce I wouldn't last.
Went for brunch and had an amazing time. For 55 CAD, you can get anything you may dream of from foie gras to pancakes, pasta to desserts. Everything is top quality, great taste, in a warm and eclectic atmosphere. Sunday's brunch have their own jazz concert with a band playing live. And the restaurant itself has an industrial vibe that I am personally fond of. For people with children, they have a supervised play room
Not the best venue for a work Christmas party. Views are stunning, service is argumentative and "interesting", coat check loses items. But overall if your just looking for a pretty venue you'll get what you pay for.
We went for Mother's Day brunch a party of seven, prior to reserving we had asked specifically if they have vegan options, they ensured us that yes indeed they have vegan options and therefore we proceeded with our reservation. Only two of our party we're vegans, I was shocked at how little the options were for $60 a person brunch, the selection was very limited. The beef option was completely rare and if you did not like rare meat, too bad for you, t they said sorry there's nothing I can do. I ordered eggs Benedict and asked the server to please request for the egg to b e prepared medium her response was yes that's how they're all made, the egg came approximately 40 minutes later and they were barely cooked. The worst part was that there was really no vegan options at all. The waitress stated that she would charge only $35 for the vegan people at our table. Our bill came she charged us full price and said sorry there's nothing I can do. Terrible service not that great food not worth going at all. Too many great food options between Burlington and Oakville to waste our time here. You can go to the water Street cooker for $35 and have 10 times more options and much better service. This place will not last long!
Back in April, I took my mom and brother to try their jazz brunch and it was in a word, fantastic. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and were given a wonderful spot to enjoy the live music. My brother and I also took advantage of their add-on drinks package and it was well worth it. A special shout out to our waiter - forgot to ask for his name, but do remember he mentioned that he is a sommelier - whom was wonderful. We told him that we will be coming back and have already made our reso for next month to celebrate my mom's birthday with the whole family this time for the jazz brunch (10 of us!). Thanks for a great experience.
This spot is super cute, nice vibe. The first time I went I felt like my latte tasted weird but ignored it, came back a second time and only ordered an americano...tasted weird as well! Not sure what's happening but I am discouraged from going back there. If you're gonna make your products pricey they better be good...
My friends and I accidentally came across this place, it was a little bit late and on a Monday night so we thought maybe they were closed but the staff welcomed us in so kindly, helped us to pick out a treat, and waved goodbye through the windows when we left. The food and atmosphere were wonderful just like the staff who were there on Monday night! My friends and I will definitely return here, and would recommend this place to our other friends.
Visited for jazz brunch on Sunday and tapas on Wednesday. Love this place. The food is amazing and atmosphere is great. The jazz is super too
The space is beautiful. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I felt the portion sizes were too small for the cost.
Great ambience and large space for hosting bigger groups (even kid friendly). We had a fairly large group of 20+ people and the staff were really great, and food was also beautifully done. Thanks for a great brunch experience.
Came here for Sunday brunch and left extremely satisfied! The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. We were seated in the Atrium as we had a larger group. The jazz band also came out to the atrium portion at some point in the afternoon which was very nice. They have a lot of food options and all the food is fresh. The customer service was outstanding and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back here.
The bakery/cafe is amazing! I usually get a drink at the cafe before I start work and either Monika or Mimi are there to make the drink, both are very talented and knowledgeable Barista's; the bakery staff are always super friendly and courteous and give the best recommendations on the foods and drinks they have. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you are in the area you should definitely try it out!
Amazing!! I tried the crab risotto and it was delicious. It has asparagus, tomatoes, and crab. It was the perfect portion for lunch. The cavatelli was good with the goat cheese and the smoked salmon.
I was pleasantly surprised with the brunch here on a Saturday. Latte was good and shakshuka was a little unconventional but still very flavourful. Service from our server was initially lacking but the support staff made up for it.
Overall experience was good. Certain brunch items such as seafood and foie gras were slow to refill. Food was tasty but hoping for more items such as French toast based on the price. Worth a visit but unsure about repeat as all you can eat brunch, worth it more just for dine in.
We had Sunday Brunch here and it was great! Very baby friendly, wonderful jazz music, delicious eats, and very attentive staff. The s’mores bar is cool with Hershey’s chocolates and the roast beef just melts in your mouth! Sunday brunch is a little pricier than usual but it’s very worth it. Highly recommended for families and special occasions. They had the jazz band play happy birthday when this little cake came out.
The coffee is perfect, the bakery as well we like the spacious hall and that is why we often come here. And yet lately the tables have not been cleaned by the staff and we have to do it by ourselves in order sit down. At the moment my espresso is in a small glass for water (???) All these make a bad impression and we are the gests who will recommend your place. Thank you!
Good attention and very good food. I had foie gras for starter, then the rack of lamb which was very tasty a complete. Finally, the Guayaquil cake. All very good.
They have $2 coffees, including espresso drinks, on Monday. Coffee is good. We tried a basil & raspberry mousse cake. It was delicious and not as sweet as nadege. I'll come back to try more. The service was friendly but a bit messy as it's a newly opened cafe/ restaurant. I went back for lunch. It was a bit slow but the food was very good! Beautifully plated and the fish was so crispy and fresh. I love the chocolate desserts. So dark and rich.
Have visited the Sunday buffet twice. Solid food and amazing service! Pasta station is unbelievable and made-to-order omelettes and eggs benedicts are addictive. Love the live Jazz, it helps the atmosphere as they have done what they can to maximize the tables without feeling too cramped in.
Delicious meal and friendly staff. Really enjoyed my brunch here - I got the eggs Benedict and a late. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the salad it came with was delicious. The late was excellent as well. Wait staff were friendly and responsive. Will be back!
Cosy, you can have brunch, lunch, dinner. They do a kitchen atelier on Wednesdays what is really cool and fun. You can organise your events there.... Good place
Amazing service. Staff is extremely knowledgeable about their menu, and I have never met friendlier people. I don’t know the name of the waiter that served us, but he was tremendous, he had great recommendations!
Perfect for a family brunch with young kids. The AYCE Sunday brunch is not inexpensive, but it's worth every penny, especially if you've got little ones. On Sundays they have a play area for the kids including a bouncy castle, kid-friendly food options, and someone watching them run/play/bounce. So the grown ups can actually enjoy all the amazing food options. I gorged on oysters, shrimp, and octopus from the seafood bar; had a pasta made fresh for me; then grabbed a couple of cuts of porchetta and prime rib. And that's on top of the egg/omelette station and a plethora of pastries, fruit, and dessert options.
Pricey, but delicious and large assortment of food. Kids play area for sunday brunch. Options for bottomless mimosas or ceasars for brunch. Great service.
