Found this place while looking for a place for breakfast. Glad that I went in. Simple old style diner place. The store was thoroughly clean. I ordered bsd breakfast omelette & chai latte. Absolutely loved it. Outstandingly fresh ingredients& great taste. If you are a visitor in Victoria, do check them out. You will not be disappointed. I will come back again for sure.

This is a family-owned deli that's been in operation since 2006. My wife and I had the opportunity to talk to the owners for a bit on every visit (we made several), and I'm pleased to report they are a very nice, very friendly, and very helpful young couple, who made us excellent food and gave us good advice on things to see and do around Victoria's Inner Harbour. We found this place while surfing the net for a place to eat breakfast near our hotel. I'd picked a few candidates based on menu and reviews, and this was the closest, so we walked up and tried it. I am so glad we did! On that first morning, my wife had a breakfast sandwich and I had their "meat lovers" omelette (three egg omelette with various meats, white cheddar and onions served with home-fried potatos). Breakfast was delivered fast and it was delicious. This restaurant also offers a smoked brisket sandwich that they are very proud of. It sounded delicious, so the next day my wife and I returned at lunch time, with me fully intending to get that sandwich. However, the omelette from the day before was so excellent, I just couldn't resist ordering it again. My wife ordered the Vietnamese Baguette with chicken, and spent the rest of the day raving about it. In fact, she insisted we stop by there again the *next* day, so she could repeat on that sandwich. This was my opportunity to finally try the Montreal smoked brisket... but I didn't. That meat lover's omelette was calling me again, and once again I could not resist. Excellent! Maybe next time we are in Victoria I'll finally get to try the brisket. I expect it will be as good as it sounds, and I am looking forward to it. I would love to try the Reuben too.

I stop by when I can for lunch, the special comes with a small baggy of regular chips and a Cole slaw. It's a nice, family owned place... It's hard to find anything privately owned now that is not commercialy produced foods. I've felt full with no after "bleh" feelings unlike some other places. So... Worth a try if you're in town for the day :-)

Great little hole in the wall place! We both got the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and a cup of the vegetable curry soup. Sandwich was delicious and curry soup out of this world! I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Had breakfast here 2 days ago with family. Will definitely return. The owner was cheerful and made us feel welcome. Menu is simple and filling. We had a 3 year old with us and he brought out the strawberries for her waffles early so she could snack on them while our meals were being made. Reasonably priced. Great family spot. Easy coffee refills.

Ordered a avocado Benny on waffles. It was so good! I ordered from skip and the meal looked the same when it arrived as it did in the picture. Also ordered a green smoothie which was really good. Looking forward to trying out more of the menu in the future.

If Chicago was in Vietnam this is what the place would look like. The theme is confused with lots of superstitious stuff hanging around and portable tables stuck out in the open piled with supplies. Good sandwiches with adequate meat. Whitest Rye bread I have ever had, almost like it's white bread. :)

This is one of Victoria's treasures. I have been getting my lunch here for many years, often more than once per week. The food is always fresh and delicious and everything made in-house is particularly good. A wide variety of sandwiches, soups, salads and smoothies to choose from, plus more. I especially like the chicken Banh Mi sandwich and while I am not vegetarian, the veggies, cheese and avocado sandwich is uncommonly delicious and my "go-to" when I am in a hurry. Service is fast and friendly.

My wife and I thought we’d give it a shot as last second breakfast gamble but We lost on this place. Ordered a meat lover’s omelette and a basic breakfast. My wife got 4 hash browns with her ready crisp bacon. I received raw onions in an egg omelette that wasn’t mixed. Mostly white? Some chopped sausage and ham, I think? The place was painted by a two year old? Uncomfortable chairs and wood benches? $34.00 later, good lord, give this place a pass, please.

It was one of those early morning that I left the home without breakfast. After completing some early morning errands I was happy to see their sandwich board and decided to give it a shot. Glad I did. Upon walking up to the enterance, I noticed a couple tables outside which was perfect considering it was a beautiful morning - sun shining and warm. Once inside, the owner was very welcoming and the menu was easy to read. Looking around, the establishment has excellent covid safety measures in place while keeping it casual and preventing any awkwardness. We're all adapting to this new normal so it really a pleasure to be able to enter an establishment without feeling like covid is right there ready to attack you. Please keep in mind, the owner has all the covid safety measures in place, yet the restaurant is still very inviting. As for the food, I order a club sandwich with fries. One the best club sandwiches I've had in a long time. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients quick from time of order to time of food being placed in front of me. Even though I chose to sit outside, the owner still made the effort to come out there to ensure I was enjoying the meal and had everything I desired. I've walked by the sandwich board that he has on Douglas St @ Broughton St so many times yet haven't ventured in there before. Not sure what it was about this morning, but I'm glad I did and will definitely be back when I'm in Victoria.

I was born and raised in Montreal, living there for 21 years and haven't had a good smoked meat sandwich in 6 years. When I ordered one and tasted it, I was brought back to the last meal I had with my late grandfather. It was made exactly the way I remember. The poutine was also made the old proper way, as in Quebec. If you're looking for delicious, authentically made smoked meat and poutine this is the place to go.

Cute little cafe with some amazing sandwiches and cookies! Their smoked meat sandwiches are by far their best thing on menu. Pieces were fair and there is a tone of other options as well. They even have some Vietnamese dishes as well, most notably Vietnamese sandwiches. The atmosphere is beautiful, almost reminding of a classic dinner. Service is extremely quick for how small yet busy it gets! I would most definitely recommend coming for some breakfast!

Friendly, fast servings of sandwiches, soups, salads, including breakfast. Busy over the lunch hour (12-1p); there maybe a 8-10 minute wait. My order was delivered to my table while I still getting settled. Dine-in available and COVID-protocals clearly identified: I found this reassuring and easy to navigate. While there, there were many takeout and delivery orders. The Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich with potato chips and coleslaw ($13.95) was tasty and filling. The sandwich is on the small side compared to those from back East but right size for a fast bite. Sauerkraut would have been nice and I'll try hot mustard next time. The Berry Banaza Smoothie ($5.95) bit on the small side but very refreshing. Very friendly service and I felt my patronage was appreciated.

Great smoked meat sandwich, very good quality smoke meat tastes authentic and just like back home (out east). A little let down by the size however, as it is about half the size of a traditional smoked meat sandwich in Montreal, leaves you still hungry. Otherwise it’s a five star sandwich/staff.

I love this place! The owners are really friendly and the sandwiches are delicious. The interior has a nice old diner atmosphere, too. They also have a selection of hot entrees, both Canadian diner food like eggs & bacon, poutine and chicken tenders; and some Vietnamese noodle dishes. The Saigon iced cappuccino is sooo good.

I was famished on the way to work one morning and saw their advertisment for a $5 breakfast. Now I have to eat gluten-free so I always expect to pay a little more for the convenience but when I ordered my a breakfast sandwich which included gluten free bread ($1 extra - no prob), 2 eggs and bacon I was shocked when I was billed nearly $12 with tax included. I accepted I had misread the sign and the $5 was for a breakfast bagel but really? Is there that much of a difference? If so, I would expect only to pay a couple of dollars more. I am not going back and it is too bad because the owner (I believe) at the front was very nice and enjoyable to talk with and the environment was nice as well. That said the price was ridiculous.
