Ordered the regular chicken dinner and perogies. Looked in bag before getting in car and no perogies so went back in. Got the perogies and went home. Got home and there was no sour cream for the perogies and because I had to wait for them to be cooked my French fries with my meal were soggy. Guy at front who took orders was very nice about everything. All I have to say is....check your bag to make sure everything is in there you ordered before leaving and make sure you own a dog who will eat anything.

I ordered the 1/4 chicken dinner and the piece was so small, I'm sure I've had Cornish hens that were bigger! I complained and she said yeah it was rather small and brought another (roughly same size) to make up the difference. Won't be going there again any time soon.

Get better organisation if you tell people your order will be ready at this time make it that time please we all live busy lives

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding staff and management at Swiss Chalet Gander. Heather, Donald and Angie (and the rest of the staff) are exceptional representatives of this restaurant company. Our son has anaphylactic allergies to dairy and nuts, and Swiss Chalet’s excellent allergy program means it’s the ONLY restaurant we know about that he can safely eat at in Canada. On our first visit about a month ago, the staff accommodated over our 30 hockey players and parents with less than 2 hours notice, allowing our son to safely eat in a restaurant with his hockey team for the 1st time ever. Our server Heather and manager Don were exceptional and attentive hosts, and our family and team were sincerely grateful. On our 2nd visit yesterday, we were lucky to be served by Heather again, and she remembered our son’s allergy AND HIS ORDER from over a month ago! We are so impressed and thankful to these wonderful people for their outstanding professionalism and incredible customer service. The food was, as always, excellent and the service was authentic, genuine, and first rate. We highly recommend the Gander Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s; exceptional people should be recognized and celebrated for the value they add to their patrons and their company. My son said he doesn’t remember his first Swiss Chalet meal, but that he will never forget this meal, because of the service. Thank you from us all. ????????❤️

Usually quick and friendly service. Restaurant forgot to include cranberry sauce with last delivery order. No biggie though. Not a fan of cranberry sauce, anyways. I recommend mashed potatoes with their chicken dinners. Ceaser salad is to die for . Good value. Price of take out food has been steadily going up lately.

Placed order through Mobile App at 4:30 pm to be ready for 5:30pm. Husband went in to let them know we were waiting at 5:45 and they said it would be another 10 minutes. I went into restaurant at 6:30pm to get money back after waiting two hours. No apologies, nothing. Received a message the NEXT DAY at 2:30pm saying my order would be out in a minute. Very poorly run, zero customer service skills. Tried phoning the restaurant multiple times at the number listed on the web, and the number no longer works. Ridiculous.

Chicken wings were too spicy. They offered to make me something else but id have to pay for the wings, which I couldn't eat. The restaurant is cold and there's no hot water in the bathroom to wash hands. The ribs were really good though. The host was pleasant, but waitress was loud and confrontational about me being displeased about the wings.

We had never been to this location before but we were pleasantly surprised! The staff were very friendly and the food was yummy. They're working on a bit of a reduced menu, but that didn't seem to affect anything. We were very happy with our experience and we will definitely be back.

Mediocre first experience at best. Fries were soggy and chicken was greasy to start and by the end very dry. Swiss chalet sauce saved the meal from being awful. They forgot to bring half of my friends meal, who forgets a chicken? Also almost got over charged for a wrong meal on the bill.

Placed my order through the app and was told to pick up at 5:22pm. I arrived at 5:30pm and waited outside in a line. When I got in I was told it wouldn’t be ready for another 5 minutes that they would bring it outside for me. Outside I go and 15 minutes later I had to go back in only to find no one there. Ring the bell and there is no response from anyone. Another 5 minutes and the girl comes back and sees me and tells me they are just waiting for the fries. 10 minutes later I FINALLY get my order. Get home and the fries are undercooked and soggy. Never again will this store get my business.

I came here with my family a little after 8 PM. The restaurant hours started they closed at 9, but the employees were already closing up the place, a woman who worked there was very hesitant to seat us. Kept telling us that they were closing at 9, and kept saying we could order take out if we wanted to eat there, we informed her that we were hoping to eat inside but if we couldn't we'd just find somewhere else to eat. She kept repeating over and over that they close at 9, and that we would have to leave at that time even though we had an hour and were planning on leaving way before 9. I've been to this restaurant many times with my family, and I've never been told that the only way I was able to eat the food there is if i order take out and then leave the building. We were standing waiting to be seated for a bit when it wasn't busy, there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant eating as well, but they were eating quickly as they could because the person serving us all kept stating they closed at 9 and we needed to leave. One of the kids meals wasn't cooked all the way through, the chicken was still bloody, and raw. It took us 15 minutes to get a hold of anyone to tell them the chicken wasn't cooked. We didnt want anything out of it, we were just disappointed, our server informed us we were wrong after she glanced at our plate and went to tell the cook. She came back again, informing us we were wrong and then said if anyone experiences food poisoning to call the restaurant but refused to give us her name. We were rushed out of a restaurant that decided to close an hour earlier than they should have, we received raw food as well. No one gave us the managers contact number or even let us speak to someone higher up. The worst service I've ever received and I've worked in the food industry as a server. It was just rude and really unnecessary.

Eaten here a few times, and have always had a good experience. Little bit of a wait, but not as bad as I've had in other restaurants. Food is good, but the best thing they have is their ribs. Best ribs in town (And I've also had ribs at Jungle Jims, Wing n' It, Pizza Delight, and Lily's Landing) Customer service has been good from my experience, I treated my mom out for supper for her birthday, but when I got the bill, I saw they forgot to charge for the drinks. Me, being an honest guy, pointed it out to our server, but he was just gonna let us off with it. I made sure to leave a bigger tip then I was planning. The closest I had to a bad experience was the first time I went, I asked for dark meat for my quarter chicken, and they gave me white. Now I prefer dark meat cause it tends to be jucier. That being said, the white meat is more meat, and normally costs more, but I was still charged for dark. Far as "bad experiences" goes, not half bad.

I got $71 of food and it was horrible DRY CHICKEN! Lots of fat on chicken frys were cold and gross called back and was giving every exercise in the book then was told sorry bye and they hung up. Don't eat there!!

Husband and I just had dinner there and the food was not nice. I had the chicken on a bun with fries and both the chicken and fries were cold. My husband had the fish special and it was over cooked and his fries were also cold. Our waitress did her part and got us fresh hot fries. Manager came to the table and offered me desert. By that time I was not interested. Not a good way to start a new business in Elliotlake.

There on xmas eve. 1 person ahead of me. Took close to hour to get food. They didn't put drink got sent to 3 different employees for the drink no one knew how to give me drink. Finally manager told them to give me my drink and a bunch of employees just stood there like deer in headlights. Took close to 20 minutes after getting my food for them to give me my drinks. All are food was cool by time got drinks. Will never go back. You got to be completely useless not to know how to give someone there drinks they ordered and none of the employees knew what to do. This was my first time eating at this Swiss Chalet in Gander. Very friendly service and the food was just what I needed on a brisk December night. You can never go wrong with the quarter chicken dinner! Drop in for a meal and enjoy the quaint and cozy atmosphere!

My boyfriend and I went there just before closing so probably should have known better but the food was terrible. Everything was cold and soggy. They put the wrong sauce on my wrap and I didn't get my gravy with my meal. My boyfriend had 1/4 chicken dinner that was barly even cooked with a side of soggy fries and they forgot our onion rings. Also we both ended up with the worst stomach after we were done... never again!

If you're a fan of Swiss Chalet and want to treat yourself to some of their basic menu items this place is good. The seating leaves a lot to be desired. The Swiss Chalet side of this restaurant that shares with Harvey's has seating for about 50 jammed in a small space so that unless you manage to get one of the few booths you will probably find yourself dining uncomfortably close to people you don't know. The food seems on par with any other Swiss Chalet but the service did seem a little on the slow side compared to other Swiss Chalet restaurants. The menu is very basic, not the full menu available at other Swiss Chalet restaurants. My biggest personal annoyance was that I couldn't get a ginger ale with my meal. It's the only pop I drink and while spending good money for a meal out one would think this common beverage would be available. A few cans kept handy if it's not available from their fountain. That's just me though, I'm sure most people wouldn't care about that.

This is the best Swiss Chalet we’ve ever eaten at. We are visiting for Thanksgiving & decided the family would order take out instead of cooking all day. The young guy in charge of Takeout was personable, helpful & informed us their would be a wait time because the restaurant was busy. We happily ordered & came back. The food was hot, delicious & not over cooked. Thank you for a great meal & no dishes.

This swiss chalet is a hit or miss for accurate pick up times. Staff are always friendly and polite though. I have eaten inside a few times but prefer to take home. I normally order around 5-530pm pick up, and have had to wait a few times to have my order ready. they always seem busy being one of the only restaurants in town, so its normally not an issue for the wait. I have tried ordering for 4pm and 630pm pick ups and i have not had any major extra wait during those times. Food is great, love their ribs and wings. They now have delivery service that i will be taking advantage of come winter months. This is my number one place for take out here in town, i will continue to order from them.

From Saskatoon, SK. In Gander on business. By far, the worst food I have ever had at a Swiss Chalet. 1/3 tack of ribs and 1/4 chicken. Ribs were all fat and gristle. Chicken looked and tasted like it was on the rotisserie for a few days (it looked like the day old hotdogs at 711). Staff were nice but fairly inattentive. Quite shocked as SC is usually really good.

Visited within the week and safe to myself nor my family will be returning to this location. First of all we were greeted by being told to wait even after making reservations for a specified time. Secondly the women's washroom was for whatever reason locked, with no explanation or instructions on what else to use. Third of all I only received half of my order when the plate arrived, had to ask the waitress to get the rest after she/kitchen forgot. And as a bow on top of the mess I tried redeeming some of my scene points that they love to advertise and encourage customers to use! But of course that didn't work either. Even after the owner came and tried to "fix" the situation, to which no effort seemed to be made. All that was shown to me that night is that this location DOES NOT care about customer satisfaction.
