First time here in this restaurant. A good option for a hungry stomach. I took the red arrow and since this is just very close to the ticketing office I and a coworker dined in here. They have a very limited parking space in front. I just don’t know if they ha e parking at the back side. Washroom is shared with the whole building / red arrow. So you have to go out to get in to the washroom. It would be great if they have there own washroom since it is a good establishment.

First time dining here. The food itself was decent, however the service was the worst we had ever experienced. We were a party of 4, arrived for our dinner reservation at 8pm and the restaurant was empty other than another occupied table. There was one waitress who seemed more occupied with conversing with her boyfriend/friend/brother whoever the guy set up at the bar all night with the laptop was. She was not busy at all. Below is the occurrence of events in the order that they occurred. One of the people in our party finished their entire glass of water before we ordered our appetizer. The glass was not refilled and we had to ask for more water when the main course arrived. The empty glass sat in the edge of the table through the appetizer course. We ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer, when being placed on the table several chips spilled over onto the table. When we asked for side plates only 3 arrived for the 4 of use. She said “we only have 3 clean plates” When we ordered a bottle of wine the bottle arrived with the cork already out along with 2 cloudy glasses, it was then dropped on the table for us to pour ourselves. When we finished our meal and wanted the leftovers boxed up, instead of bringing the plates to the back she brought us boxes to pick up ourselves. At this point we didn’t expect much from the service so no surprise here. When dropping off the boxes she mentioned “we still have the cork for your wine if you want to pack it up to go” implying that we should be finishing up and leaving. We ended up finishing the wine by the end of the stay.... When she finally came to remove the dirty dishes she asked “how would you like the bill split?” assuming we are ready for the bill, want it split and didn’t even offer dessert. We requested a dessert menu, she began listing off the 2 options she had available and we took one of each. At this point it was shortly after 9pm and Google stayed that they close at 10pm, there were maybe 4 other customers in the restaurant. While still obviously eating the dessert she came over to ask if we’re all done with the dessert, this was an awkward moment. When she came back a bit later to pick up the finished dessert plates she had to scoot behind our seats to turn off the OPEN sign locate on the window beside us. Overall the experience was terrible but the food was decent. I neglected to mention that the bathroom is down a hallway as this restaurant is connected to a hotel and requires a code to enter. The bathroom is not in a presentable condition. Needless to say we will not be returning to this restaurant again.

The fried brussel sprouts are AMAZING. Had the Dal Cero Ramato Pinot Grigio and the Marinated Villa Steak - really good. Steak arrived exactly how I ordered it; garlic mashed potatoes were perfect; and the brussel sprouts were the best I have ever eaten - which is saying a lot because I love brussel sprouts.

Humble, simple Italian and Portuguese food comes out of this kitchen. This place has a well-thought, straightforward dinner menu and that marinated lamb knocked my socks off. Worth spending an evening here, and I'm tempted to try lunch. Looking forward to seeing this place in the summer especially!

This place deserves to be busier. The food we had tonight was so good. (The Beef Dip and the Prawn and Pesto Pizza). And the cocktails were fantastic as well. Service was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

Villa Bistro to be quite honest is AMAZING! We ordered more but the food smelled & presented so good, we, couldn’t wait for a picture to be taken. The ambiance, staff, food, wine selection are all awesome. You can tell these owners take pride in what they do! It was a great little outing leaving all of us overly satisfied :) we did catch these 3 for you the lobster ravioli, braised rib with mushroom risotto, asparagus & pesto shrimp pizza. The meatball sandwich with seasoned fries was a win as well. Ah! The truffle fries & Bruschetta (I’m salivating) haha legit tho... I highly recommend this gem to everyone & their grandma as soon as they open up again when the 4 weeks are up starting today. P.s I can’t jst forget about the NEW LOCATION ... it’s honestly gorgeous, modern, spacious & happy all around. Love the location. Kind regards, Amanda C

We were in for lunch. My GF and I split a Caesar salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was delicious, the meatballs were a little salty but it was cut by the tomato sauce. The meatballs were small and tasted great overall. Our server was friendly and efficient. We will be back

We stopped in here quick because we were in the area and it was a convenient option. We weren't sure what to expect, but the reviews looked good. We were pleasantly surprised with everything. It was around 1:30pm on a Friday and the restaurant was extremely quiet, it had us a bit worried lol but the waitress was very friendly, the food was delicious and came out fast! We would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone in the area.

I imagine this place would be spectacular in person!! Take out on the other hand was just okay... The prawns with white wine garlic butter sauce are to die for and it wasn't until I dumped the left over sauce over my pasta that I started enjoying it. The seafood linguine needs a big of something extra, a little more wine to brighten how heavy it is and maybe a bit more salt. Also my pasta was no where near all dente and I had quite a few strands clumped together which was disappointing. Fish and chips were a bit soggy bit the fish itself was beautiful and the tartar sauce was on point! All in all we'd definitely order from here again or maybe go to the restaurant for dine in. I wish they'd offer a white wine sauce like the prawn appetizer but in a seafood linguine!

I think we were lucky the day we went for lunch because it was not crowded and it’s usually very full. We were taken to our table by a very friendly welcoming server and given our menus. There are some very nice lunch choices and our meals came very fast and were delicious. Drinks were refilled, we were checked on and our bill was on the table when we were done. Great place, do give it a try. ????????☕️

We had a large family reservation at Villa Bistro this past weekend. Chef Rui had a custom menu for us and had wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert included in this fantastic menu. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was so flavourful with generous portions. Many of my family exclaimed “this is our new favourite restaurant in Edmonton!” and “this is the best food I have had in my life!” Chef Rui did an outstanding job and came out to quality check the meal on more then one occasion. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Went last night for my sisters birthday. My wife works close by and comes for lunch all the time so she made reservation and so glad she did. The food was amazing had the braised short ribs and they were to die for. Dessert was the berry cheesecake and was yummy. Highly recommend this downtown location a real hidden gem.

We're from out of town. Staying at Holiday Inn Express. It's just around the corner. We looked up the reviews, 4.5 stars. Definitely did not disappoint. We had the beef short ribs. So tender. The deep fried brussel sprouts were amazing as well. My friend ordered a mushroom chicken fettuccine. Generous portion and very tasty. Wish the cheesecake that came with the tasting menu was not gluten free though. I miss my graham crust. But still very yummy.

The food here is very good. It's kind of a secret hidden gem that deserves more attention than it gets. The rack of lamb I had was excellent, perfectly cooked, loads of flavour in the dish. My wife and I chose the date night special, 1 starter, 2 mains and dessert for $75 and it is fantastic value, I hope they keep the date night special option available. They do lose 1 star because their beer and spirits options are pretty bad. 1 local craft beer, the rest is pretty standard big brewery stuff. Original 16, Heineken, Coors Light etc. Gin options were mediocre as well. I would love to see local Alberta distillers and breweries get some love in the restaurant scene.

We're in town for a few days and followed the reviews here as our hotel's nearby. The food did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portions were generous. The berry cheesecake was heavenly. We stuffed ourselves. We'll definitely be back again to try other dishes before we leave town.

Likely one of the most underrated restaurants in Edmonton. I ate here multiple times in the same week as the food is that fantastic. The meals are fresh and from scratch. If you are looking for a fresh meal with good service, this is a great place to go.

Went for a birthday lunch with a party of 11, reservation made in advance. The server was prompt and friendly and took our order quickly. However, despite a nearly empty restaurant our food took well over 20 minutes to come out. I had BLT and found it to be over the top salty. Overall I think the food is fairly average for the price and the decor is nothing special.

ate here this Friday and it was a great experience. I am not in the Edmonton area much and stumbled upon this place by chance and it turned out to be a really great meal! Although it was rather quiet there was some nice music and a good feel to make it not feel as though I was the only one in there besides the waitress. She was very attentive and was prompt with refills and clearing away my plates even offering me the wifi password when I pulled out my tablet. I highly recommend going here if not for the service but for the FOOD! I could go on even more about how crazy my tastebuds were going. Everything down to the fries is completely delicious and definitely worth a bite! You certainly won’t regret going here. Note: unfortunately there is no washroom in the restaurant so you have to walk down the hall to some that aren’t particularly well maintained so if you can, hold it!

Went there for the first time over lunch today, and it was awesome! The food was delicious! and the service from Molly was awesome as well. I really like that we could pre order our food in advance so that our food was ready as soon as we got there! Its also great to know that the French Onion Soup is completely vegetarian (made with veg stock as opposed to the traditional beef stock). Last but not least the dessert (brownie) hit the sweet spot! Villa Bistro catered for my aunt's 60th birthday party. They catered with a head count of 65 people. Oh my goodness was this some of the most delicious food in a catering style. Wonderfully flavored pork, chicken, mashed potatoes, saffron rice, Caesar salad and pasta salad. Extremely professional were the chef and his apprentice. The food was hot and fresh. I will have to go and eat in at the resteraunt! I will definitely be thinking of Villa Bistro come my wedding and any work events that will need catering done! Thank you!!!!!

Visited this restaurant a few weeks ago for the first time on a Friday night. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very modern/minimalist and is a nice area of the city located right by the river. The service at this restaurant was atrocious, it took an hour and ten minutes to receive 4 arancini balls. They tasted alright but afterwards we just paid and left the table sitting beside us had been there for two hours and just had gotten their meals. Overall if the service was better or staffed to appropriate levels then I would consider giving it a try again.

Wow! Just finished the lunch special - mushroom soup, and the Beef Dip were amazing!!! Hands down the best mushroom soup I’ve ever had. Nice consistency, not too many mushrooms. Creamy deliciousness. The beef dip was fantastic - the meat was cooked to perfection, and none of that fatty stuff you get at the restaurant chains! I will be back!

Villa Bistro’s Awful experience on Tuesday, 6th April, 2021! I am never ever going to Villa Bistro on 11520 100 Avenue, Edmonton or giving them my business!!! I called Villa Bistro on Tuesday, 6th April, 2021, placed an order for a ‘Take Out’ and was told that it would take 40 to 45 minutes so went to pick my Order after 40 – 45 minutes but it was not ready and was told twice another “20 minutes” in the meantime they were busy serving the diners. After another 20 minutes went back to check if the Order was ready to go, it was almost 8:00 p.m., they hadn’t even started my Order and was told that the Chef will start my order next which would take another half an hour. By that time I had enough of 20 minutes and left empty handed.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express Downton and was recommended to get lunch at the Villa Bistro when I brought my food to my room the bread was moldy and the chicken was burnt, not the same sandwich Lisa has described in her review which is why I ordered it. The bacon was old and discoloured I am confused this is NOT COOL . I would never recommend this place to any one. To top it off the price is ridiculous!

Excellent food at reasonable prices. I think that this location is likely a better fit than previous businesses that were here. The renovations are clean, and if you go late enough the traffic isn't so bad for the patio seating. Some of the best fries in Edmonton. Will return.

Honestly not worth it. The food is over priced for what it is. It’s very simple and not fresh. Pasta is very obviously pre made, as well as the sauces. The paninis are smaller than they should be. The menu lacks a direction - I expect a restaurant to be quality and this missed the mark unfortunately. Just not good enough- don’t expect it to last.
