Great food and service as always. Have never left feeling like I didn't have enough
I love coming here. It's turned into a Friday lunch ritual, their butter chicken is fantastic! The atmosphere is great for a mid-day sit down out of the office, I love the music.
Absolutely excellent experience. The menu was huge, so many selections and our waitress was great, answered a ton of questions and was generally very helpful. The food was amazing and there was lots of it. Next time I'm in Cranbrook, I'll be back for sure. 10/10
Poor ambience and poor menu representation. 2 out of 3 times i had an bad experience with employees. Waited for 15 mts for them to ask for the order and more than 30 minutes to serve it. Food taste are OK .
Tasty, comfortable, reasonable, quick
Always a great place to eat, I had the butter chicken with naan bread, was out if this world good!
Best Butter chicken and naan ever
We ordered for a takeout the in Invermere spice hut and the chicken curry was amazing .. While I was travelling to cranbrook , I came to know there was another spice hut in cranbrook.we went there for lunch. Ordered Tandoori fish, butter chicken , lamb masala and chicken curry..Tandoori fish was really good, but the curries had nothing but sweet..The curries were no where comparable to the one we had in invermere..The owners really have to checknit
I like spice hut restaurant Indian cuisine
We stopped in here on a Sunday, not expecting much (our preferred choices were all closed), and we were blown away by the food. Staff was great, wait times were short, and if you don't know what to get, the mango chicken is fantastic. Definitely worth your time.
Good food. Feels like comfort good.
Unique and awesome food. We love the butter chicken, coconut curry and the lamb or beef vindaloo. Really great customer service. Everyone is always so kind and accommodating. The gluten free options have a great selection.
Friendly service, delicious and flavourful food. It was a bit expensive though - daal makhani with rice and chai tea ran me $20 for lunch.
Delicious!!! If you love indian food give this place a try. A bit pricey
Good food and a lot of it is gluten free
Alright!
Never heard of mint chicken tikka, so had to try it. It was delicious.
Shahi panner was tangy, taste was 3/10. It was little pricy if you compare quality and quantity of good . Don't recommend.
Very friendly employee's, amazing service, outstanding Indian cuisine for sure.
Top shelf quality.
Zero. No option for zero
Tried this Indian cuisine for the first time. The food is delicious. Big serving for a right price. Not too pricey. Their mango salad is really good.
Food is outstanding. Getting the bill took a long time. Would definately go back next time we're in town.
Goodluck getting what your want delivered hot and actually what you delivered.. I work in retail I know how difficult it is but after 3 times of the same thing I have to leave a review...
New chef. Great food.
Impressive! I loved their quality and quantity of food and great service. I really miss that it is not in Edmonton hence I just go to Canmore/ Cranbrook while on trips especially to eat Spice hut
Tasty food ????
Best in town...
excellent Food great customer service v
Decent food at a decent price.
Take out
Very bad service. They didn’t even offered water, we have to ask for it. We were the only customer in the whole place at that time. Food was ok not that great. Won’t recommend anyone to go there again
The food quality has gone down since the original cooks left. It’s still alright but you can get the same quality now a lot cheaper in the frozen aisle at the grocery store.
Worst Indian food I ever had !! Only told them to make it medium spicy , for some reason they made it super hot. Honestly I love spicy hot , but this was just intolerable . and then when I informed them about this , I am told that kitchen is almost closed and I was left with no other option than to order pizza..
My wife and I have enjoyed both the menu and the excellent service several times since this wonderful little restaurant opened and both of us recommend it highly.
Good food. Good service. Reasonably priced.
Absolutely the best Indian food in the kootenays. I normally have the butter chicken (but who doesn't love butter chicken, even the kids). My wife has Korma. The garlic nan bread tastes authetic. A must stop in Cranbrook.
Probably 3.5 stars. We had Aalo Gobi, Palak Lamb, and Coconut Lamb Curry with rice and garlic naan. We like a little spicy, so at the servers suggestion we ordered spice level at 2 stars. It was tasty, but not spicy AT ALL. She brought a little shaker of chili powder and that helped. Wish there had been something like that already on the table or a chutney/sauce assortment to customize for individual palates. It's an expensive enough place that it warrants that. Cons: Naan looked amazing, but it was burnt enough one side that it was bitter. Also, food temperature was not hot which was frustrating because there was only us and another couple there. Any colder and I would have sent it back which I've rarely done. Besides, I was really hungry! Lol. Pros: Portion size was decent. It tasted good; not fabulous, but veggies tasted fresh and meat was tender. Flavor profiles were as expected (curry maybe a little too sweet)and much better once we added more spice. Atmosphere and server was very nice.
Amazing the servers are so nice and there is one whowe usually get who can remember our orders even after several months!!
These guys are making fool by telling samosa plate. These guys should know that samosa plate includes white channe also.
Delicious food and good service. The food came out quickly after ordering.
Amazing flavours and totally authentic. Best food in town!
The food was good but found that didn't have alot of stock for beverages
Since the owner is no longer here I can't substitute :( food is still good but had a waitresses that didn't want to be there.
Told them I dont want want white man hot. Needed music.
Best Indian food around, the chicken korma and naan are to die for.
Great food!
Was very nice as always
Service
Good food, whether you eat it there, get takeout or delivery. Prices are good. Serving sizes are nice too.
Food was pathetic. Food was very spicy even though I asked for spice level 2. I am giving stars for server as she was friendly and kind.
Food was good! Would go back
Best indian restaurant in cranbrook this restaurant may be hard to find because its in old mall with no other stores but thats ok as long as you find it because spice huts food is always packed with flavour and freshness! My personal favourite is the lamb korma.
Went with bunch of friends....awesome Indian food I had in canada.....they have to open same kind of restaurant in Vancouver.... I can say on taste no Indian restaurant can't beat them.....
Food is good just don't order online if you would actually like to eat.
Better than expected but certainly not the best. Recommend the lamb Massala
2hr wait time for food. Almost died of starvation. Lucky I'm alive to even type this right now.
Good food. Never disappoints and on time.
(Translated) delicious! (Original) 美味しい!
Everything I’ve had is excellent, but be careful when you order hot the chef takes it as challenge. Food is fresh so it has taken a couple extra minutes to get your food, Nan bread made in house. Hope they take keep up the good work.
This restaurant has good signage as it is located inside the mall. The decor was nice and the staff were friendly. This is a very busy restaurant and also very authentic. The food was VERY spicy. Be cautious if you are afraid of hot foods. The pricing is very competitive for the area and you will love the food. I will also come back here to eat the next time I'm in town.
Great flavor & friendly service????
Best Indian food for 100's of Kim's around good value!
Very tasty foods. Happy stomach ????
An interesting burst of flavor tucked away in a seemingly dead mall. I recently went in to try this restaurant with a group of 5. It would have been 6 had one of the classmates hadn't bailed for "other business" but that is irrelevant. The food was well prepared and is presented as a larger bowl of sauce with the meat and flavor arrangements selected directly from the menu. You will need to get some rice and/or naan bread to accompany the dish you have selected. The service is excellent and the pricing is not excessive. The flavors and choices are many, so many in fact that there are 2 flavors of naan bread. There aren't many downsides to this restaurant as the cuisine definitely tastes authentic. If you are not familiar with East Indian cuisine, you could bring a friend with exotic food experience, but even that may not be necessary as you could safely try anything on the menu without fear of disappointment. The waiting staff will ask you what your preferred spice level is so if you are not into spicy food, you could always ask for mild. of course you can always ask for extra spice which will be served on the side. The location can make it a bit hard to discover but I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a must, and worth venturing to this location. I will return.
The food is wonderful! Nice place for a sit down dinner.
Quick service , good food
I LOVE their Chana Masala. It tastes amazing. All their food is amazing! Me and my friends eat here almost every week. Just remember that their scale of hotness goes from mild to HOT. The medium is good but is more like a hot and their hot is tongue on fire!
Tasty food and friendly staff - would go again when in town
This is my favorite places in cranbrook bc to eat. The quality is always top notch!
I ordered by phone for my work lunch break and I was able to eat and pay in the half hour I had for lunch. Wicked service.
Amazing service and food when you go into the restaurant. HORRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE. Rude everytime no matter if it is a new person. It makes me not want to order from here.
Delicious Indian food. A regular spot for us when we're in cranbrook. Well priced with fast and efficient service
We have only had the takeout, so unable to comment on the dine-in experience; however, the food flavour and quality were really enjoyable. We had a variety of dishes, and each was distinct and complementary. Every person went back for seconds, some for thirds, and that speaks for itself. Overall, positive experience and we look forward to going in-person when the pandemic settles down.
Very bad garlic nan
The food is great and the prices are quite reasonable.
Not delivering the taste worth the money.
Service was great..food was incredible
Always great food and service.
Spice Hut has excellent food. I have a vegetarian daughter and it is no problem finding lots of selections that satisfy us all.
Very good service. Food was hot and fresh! Spice level was perfect. Yum!
Ordered Lamb curry twice and they gave us chicken curry the first time, then the second time they gave us beef curry. If they don’t have lamb they should say so instead of lying to their customers. I’ve had lamb curry many times before from other Indian stores and I know how exactly a lamb curry smells and tastes like. They might be able to fool other customers but not me! Super disappointing!
Best indian food . Service is good food is way much better than expected. I will so please go for it
Not happy with service kulfi was not sweet not served nicely and food seems expensive too naan are so large in small serve tray that they are touching the table
i am a regular customer here but now i am starting to hate this place. I called this place and order 4 smosa's that is 8 pieces and the girl said she can't do that cz i did my order on the phone. So, i walked in the store and told her i am paying upfront and can you please do my order and she refused again. i don't understand why??? i was paying upfront and when i asked can i talk to the chef, the chef replied "i am not responsible for talking to anybody" ...are you serious guys?? i am paying upfront. and then the girl said you can eat as much as you want here in the store but we will not cook for take out even if you pay upfront. I think that was the most stupid thing that could happen at a restaurant. So, one star bcz of their food,it was good last time, but i have experienced the worst customer service of my life at this place.
No proper delivery system. They change the delivery timings as they wish. Food tastes good but they do not provide proper service.
This is how the food looks like. And the chefs were screaming that it is what it is. The cook was so loud I could hear at the entrance. Overcooked food is bitter and bad for health. They are not ready to accept the mistake and says if we redo the order its goona be same condition. Please be careful. nothing was fresh, I went twice overe there and my stomach aches. food service was really bad. staled food. the hall was full and there were only two servers. they really need more staff. staff dress should look good. I really needed to talk to tha manager. how? as we know this is the only indian restaurant and so expensive but still so they charge a lot. their service should be good. music was low.
Best Indian locally. Pros tandoori prawns authentic and from tandoor. Cons lamb is definitely mutton not lamb. Asked for a spicy dish that came out mild and ten they tried to charge for chilli!!
It was like 3.30pm on my way back to Calgary and Still serving. Good main course and Naan, the service was good and the menu price range was ok.
Food was hot and perfect. Loved Aalo Gobi today. ????????
As much as I enjoy the food here, customer service could be improved. I ordered takeout and they forgot to include part of my order. I realized this when I got home. I called and they said I could come back to pick it up. I live 15 minutes out of town so this was inconvenient. I picked up the missing food, but I feel like more could have been done. As someone who has worked in the food service/restaurant industry, it is common for discounts/refunds to be given to customer if there is an error, but I did not get any of that at spice hut. The girl at the front was nice, and I did end up getting my food, but I feel as though more could have been done for my inconvenience and for other customers experiencing similar issues in the future.
Fantastic service, excellent authentic Indian food - rivals much more expensive places in Vancouver. Recommendations: Korma - Masala and Coconut curry. Double hot if you like extra heat. Excellent for those that are gluten intolerant or vegetarian - vegan
Very tasty and enjoyable, service was great.
I went with my friends yesterday. The service was not good at all. The servers were very rude. When we were ordering our food, the servers were making bad faces. Food was okay but seems like it wasn't fresh at all. Also, they served us wrong food. I recommend all of you guys that you should have a look on the reviews first and then u should make a decision about you should spend ur money or not. Thanks
Really good food, the tandoori shrimp is fantastic
Can't speak for the food as we have yet to have the opportunity to eat at one of the many locations, but I can speak from a contractors standpoint. The spice hut owner sets the bar high for cleanliness and has his equipment cleaned much more frequently than necessary. After seeing thousands of restaurants i have a hard time eating out due to cleanliness issues, but i would not second guess eating at any of spice huts location.
The food and service is A+ , I would recommend to anyone .
Always great.
Very authentic and tasty North Indian food.
Good food, TERRIBLE service. Like it's so bad it's not worth the good food. Go somewhere else
We ordered take out. First time. I explained over the phone what we were looking for. When we got home with our order we noticed we were charged over $7 for 3 pieces of naan bread and the spice levels had been mixed up
Great service, atmosphere, and best Okra dish in town! Very clean mens bathroom.
Good food and customer service.
So delicious! Great flavour varieties! Daal and Butter Chicken yum!
Possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was extremely tasty and delicious. I don't know if it's the only Indian place in Cranbrook but if it isn't, it's probably the best.
Excellent service and menu suggestions. The food is simply delicious!!!!
A nice combination of indian cuisine. The dining environment and the service is pretty good. Amazing tea.
So, so delicious! Great portion sizes and super clean.
My favourites here are kadahi chicken ???? and butter chicken ???? with garlic naan. Very delicious ????. Staff is friendly too.
High turn over of staff, which is a tell tale sign the owner is not good, although food is top notch! Service is touch and go. I highly recommend this place.
The. Best. Indian food place in Cranbrook. Good prices, and even better food. All legit too. Def worth a check out
Food is great. Eggplant Bharta is a favourite. Meal prep can sometimes be long, but would order ahead.
We often meet with friends here and find it a superb experience every time. They are open to suggestions and really are accommodating. There does seem to be some inconsistency in the amount of meat in some of the dishes sometimes but the flavours are great and the choice of 5 different levels of heat (spice) is greatly appreciated!
I eat here and prefer to eat here as much as possible if it's going to be a take-out dinner night. food is absolutely delicious and I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here. My favorite is the chicken korma but if you're looking for one of the mainstay Staples a butter chicken is always a fan favorite.
Price is too much and spice too
Great food, but I wish they didn’t use styrofoam for takeout. It’s bad for the environment and body.
Incredible butter chicken sauce, Crispy naan
Great food enjoyed very much
Great service and the food was scrumptious. Also we served our meal shortly after ordering
So delicious
I've since come back after a negative visit. I was very pleasantly surprised with the level of service and flavor of food. I will be returning
We bought 21 Naan and all of it was very rubbery and totally the worst one we've ever had. It was almost very disappointing that none if it was good. My friend almost choked on one of the Naan he had. The Curries we bought with it were kinda okay but not great overall. It would be really appreciated if the SPICE HUT could look into the quality of the food before being served. The quality or taste of food does not meet the amount money we spend. Not recommended whatsoever ????
One of the best Restaurant I have been in Canada so far, the food there was awesome. I had been to the restaurant in lloydminister and one old waitress over there is bit rude, and best part she corrects me over the picture of kulfi and rasmalai. I was I like, really then I am not an Indian if I don't know the difference.
Poor food, missing parts of my order. It was obvious that nothing was fresh.
Customer service was friendly but food was so disappointing. I ordered sahi paneer and chapati and I regret wasting my money there
Sooo tasty , nice staff, fast and helpful service.
Sooo good!
Would give 0/5, Couldn’t do that cz there isn’t option for that. The worst place to eat the Indian Cousin. Taste is so worst that if you complain about that they don’t even listen to that n charge you for the same.
Good food????Great service
One of the best East Indian restaurants I've been to. Always very fresh and with courteous service!
We decided to come here for a late lunch on a week day. We waited for about 10 minutes while periodically ringing the service bell all the while we could hear conversation and laughter coming from the kitchen. For the last 3 years, we've been coming here to satisfy cravings for Indian food and the food was decent for the most part; however, given the quality of the new Indian restaurants that opened up in town this year, this place will find it hard to compete with the mediocre service and food.
Great food just pricy
Samosa plate has no plate in it , they are basically selling samosa at a higher price. Samosa were also not that great. Very bad.
Some tasty meals. A few vegan options. Quick service. Friendly staff
We came last week but service is not good
My daughter in law suggested one night that I picked up some Indian food from Spice Hut before returning to Kimberley from Cranbrook. The bill for four smallish containers of "sauce", one large rice, and four or five naan, came to $85. My main complaint is that the four containers were meant to hold the entree component of the meal, and should have had a satisfying amount of either butter chicken or paneer, etc etc. However, all four of the polystyrene containers were filled mostly with sauce, and even if that was flavoursome, I felt really short-changed in terms of the value of the food and the amount that had been charged.
