Food is average, atmosphere is like a Denny's. Prices are way too high for the quality of the food. I think 18 dollars for a bacon cheeseburger is outrageous. Want a good 15 dollar burger, go to Montana's and order the chipotle firecracker (I think that's what its called) burger.

I have eaten here over the last few months multiple times, I personally enjoy the food. I would recommend the Cajun Chicken Pomodoro, Steak bites, shrimp appetizer or the Gaucho steak. Not a fan of any salad anywhere so I don't have anything good to say about salad, I would exchange it for the Parmesan fries. There was one time the fries didn't come out with very much parm on them but the server got it fixed right away. They got a crown royal cocktail the name escapes me but it is pretty solid on a hot day, not a beer drinker but if I was the Bulldog thing looks like it would be good for the summer. Whiskey is better though. Maybe they could come up with something like that for whiskey. Never had bad service. Worth stopping in. Little heavier music would make it better but then all the family types would run, so eh.

It is not very often where I feel like I need to apologize for wasting someone's time especially when it is my waitress, and that has unfortunately been our experience this evening. As a table of only three we were seated promptly and then left in the corner to be forgotten about for the next 20 minutes. Our server finally approached our table to get our beverages with less enthusiasm then one would expect from roadkill on the side of the highway. After another half hour wait before she came back for our food order even more inconvenienced then before. When our dinner order finally arrived it left much to be desired. The chicken quesadilla was overcooked, presumably from being left under a heat lamp for an extended period of time and the yam fries came with no dipping sauce. The oscar sirloin lobster left more disappointment in our lives then I left with my parents at the age of 15. It came out cold, underseasoned and without a knife to cut it with. In true disappointing fashion of the evening we had to wait another 10 minutes before we could catch the waitresses attention with air gestures of a knife to finally get a knife to cut the steak. Lastly, the safest option on the menu; chicken fingers and fries. I am not quite sure how one an possibly manage to overcook and yet undercook french fries as badly as these were, but somehow it happened. The only positive of our whole experience was that the bacon ceaser was absolutely mixed to perfection so the bartender deserves a round of applause. Consequently a good drink did not make up for over 2 and a half hours of dissatisfaction and terribly rude service. Save your time and your hard earned money and go somewhere else, unless of course you are in to being ignored and treated like garbage; in that case Mr Mike's is the place for you.

Never had a well done filet mignon until today. Not as awful as you might think, but not good, especially when ordered medium rare (and yes I've had them done right to go before). Might have been a better experience if they at least gave me a fork or knife to eat it with. I thought that's what the place setting selection on Skip was for anyway. At least while waiting for my order I got to chuckle as the kitchen staff argued over whether onion rings belonged on the complicated order ahead of mine. I think they gave me free gravy.10% off an order if it's in the next 4 days is a bit of a slap in the face though. This was my first time at Mr. Mike's and I can't say there will be a second. Please do not reply if it will just be excuses. Thanks.

Definitely an enjoyable atmosphere for Kitimat. They have a decent selection of beer. I was a bit disappointed that they do not serve local beer but perhaps that's because they are a franchise establishment. The food is good and there is a wide selection. Pretty typical for a chain style restaurant. The staff were friendly and gave some good local recommendations.

Mr. Mike's has always been good however I think i got the short end of the stick today. I ordered the steak salad, tried to get the waitress' attention 4 times for a drink but gave up. After 30+ minutes i got my steak salad with a cold steak. Too hungry to care at this point so i just ate, drank water, paid my bill with a smaller tip and left. Sad...going to have to go somewherr else.

Went for lunch at Mr. Mike's Sunday afternoon.We ordered the chicken salad , the bacon mushroom burger with bruschetta and two beer. It was horrible! Chicken was burnt, the lettuce wilted and soggy. The burger tasty gamey. The bruschetta was good. My wife barely touch the salad. The waitress don't even notice the full bowl of salad when she cleared the table. We don't send food back, we just don't come back. Specially paying $60.00 for this meal.

Bad experience..Last night I ordered spinach cheese with tortillas so she served the sauce in a disgusting, messy sauce all over the burning cheese bowl all,should be cleaning first before you served right...and I ordered Steak with lobster sauce, I ordered Medium to cook but came with medium red, so I called the waiter then replaced with another steak the cook was perfect but the meat all filled with veins ???? I can't eat it..Sorry I’m not happy with that meal.

Well my first visit was absolutely perfect the staff was very friendly and service was super. I ordered shrimp tacos it was fast and so fresh and full of awesome flavors. They were so wonderful I went back the second night as I will tonight. I fully recommend this little hidden gem, I am away from home and I tell you they made me forget for a short while I was not at home... So if you want a awesome dinning experience head out and enjoy. Finally a Restraunt that can cook a perfect Steak! I stayed in kitimat for 5 days after eating at Mr Mikes the second night i went back every night of my stay. The 16oz Rib eye is so good im hooked, definately will make a special trip up again just for this place! Great staff Greay service!

Disappointed. Seems things have really gone downhill here. Quality and size of the meals have really gone 'south'. Too bad...this used to be our go to place for a guaranteed enjoyable dinner. waitresses have been and are still friendly, have a smile. but that's it.

First time We were there for dinner. Restaurant was not very busy. We ordered two items. One item was very good. But back ribs was awful! We tried to eat, but it was very dry and hard to swallow. We called server. She apologized and gave us several options. She was very polite, knowledgeable and professional. She made positive change of our decision. Extraordinary customer service. Food price is reasonable. Restaurant size is medium. It’s neat and clean. Washroom is ok. There are parking spots available including para parking. Highly recommend others to try this restaurant.

I’m giving 2 stars because our waiter was pleasant and my kids seemed to like their food(baby back ribs and sirloin steak-keto style). My husband took us here for my birthday yesterday and we both strongly regret ordering the pasta. I had a chicken pasta and he had a steak pasta. With the chicken, it was bland, just cut up chicken and a can of stewed tomatoes with some herbs and cheese on top. The steak in the other pasta was rubbery and chewy. These dishes should be removed from their menu that’s how flavourless they were. I was stoned and hungry and forgot the golden rule of never ordering pasta at a steak house. If you read this you have been warned, pasta bad.

Bland food. IMO (Spinach dip / steak / baked potato was all pretty bland.) Incorrect side brought out with a burger. (burger was soooooaked in grease) They replaced my side IMMEDIATELY after mentioning it was wrong, with cold fries! ???? It seemed like they had a batch of fries just laying around back there not even being kept warm she brought. Lol (oh and the funniest/slash worst part was when she gave me the fries she said here 'free of charge' instead of 'sorry about that') Everyone I talk to says Mr. Mike's is terrible and now after my first time there I would agree. Would not recommend. Go to the keg and spend the extra 10per person if you feel like steak and actually enjoy the meal. Not just being a negative Nelly... I eat good meals all the time here in fort mac...just skip this place. The owner came for an awkward chat before the meal, he should consider having his chats with tables AFTER the meal so he could get some real feed back. Complete waste of 70 bucks for food. (had no drinks)

Learn how to operate the phone!! And or use your ears!! I don’t care if it’s half hour passed closed!! You got my order wrong!! And I just paid $43 for meal I cannot eat!! Requested 2 side gravy’s!!! Was repeated over the phone!! Wasn’t on receipt or in bag!!! Requested extra horseradish Aoli as you essentially put “none” on your sandwiches!!!! Didn’t get that either!!! Got side f’n pesto!!!! Stuck paying for cold nasty meal that I will not eat without required sides. That I indeed asked for. That were indeed repeated over the phone. Guess you just get to pick and choose what parts of an order people receive!! Then choose not to answer the phone. God knows people are there cleaning up and closing. I’ll be there tomorrow! With this food to return and to get my f’n money back. Should be paying me for my time, fuel and inconvenience as well!!

Very good value compared to other restaurants in the same category (BP, Whitespot, etc.) Good sized portions for a reasonable price and a nice atmosphere. Whenever I can't decide on a restaurant, I fall back on reliable Mr. Mike's. I've never been disappointed in the service or food here.

Food was good - the cornbread that comes with the 8oz steak was delicious! The only disappointment was the sangria pitcher ($20.00). They said its red wine as its base but the colour was barely pink - looked a lot like soda fillers and berries. We had to order an additional 9 oz ($10.00) of their house wine to pour in and even then still wasnt leaving a satisfying taste of what is supposed to be a refreshing drink. I'd recommend ordering another alcoholic drink over the sangria. Also, skip the lobster dip shown in the appetizer, wasnt worth it as the main meals were super filling!

This was my first time to State & Main. I had heard great things, so I had high hopes. I tried their Butter Chicken. While it was good, it was kinda light on the sauce, & I'm a sauce kind of girl. The naan was really good. The servings were large. I could barely finish half the dish.

I came in to have a nice dinner after a long day i spent at work the other day, expecting to come into an environment which was following covid rules but that was not the case. my server never said her name but she had pink streaks in her hair, her mask was not covering her nose and was made out of mesh as well, definitely not following the protocol when interacting with customers. she also had a less than welcoming attitude and seemed to be rushing out services as if she didn’t want to be helping us, definitely disappointed as i’ve had nothing but great experiences with this restaurant when being served by a different person.

Came during lunch when they only had waiter in!! She handled it so well and let me know that they’re trying their best to get to everyone but I may have to wait a little while. They eventually got another waiter in and he was super helpful! Got my order right away and was very calm and had great customer service! Both were an older gentleman and woman and they just took it so well! Food came in about 15 minutes which was perfect. I got the Mac n’ Cheese and a side of garlic Parmesan fries. Not the biggest fan of the fries. I found them very greasy and it just seemed like it was immersed in the oil. The garlic Parmesan combo was not as great as I thought it would taste but that’s just me personally. Maybe it’s cuz the Mac N Cheese already had that garlic salt taste so the fries were not complementary. Mac N Cheese was great! Ate it all and was fulfilling! Overall, my experience was wonderful and the place itself is quite nice and modern! ????

The meal I received was very good Ordered shrooms - stuffed mushrooms ???? caps very tasty were not pipping hot able to eat without burning mouth Ribeye steak ordered to rare to med rare ???? Cooked perfectly lots of flavor topped with mushrooms ???? Stuffed bake potatoes ????- potatoe was hot and cooked through (lots of places they are still a little firm inside) ???? and beans Plate was clean at end of meal Dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding ???? My family of three went went in on a Friday for dinner. I ordered the Rib eye steak dip, my husband had the Cajun chicken fettuccine Pomodoro, and my son had the tomato pasta. The quality of the food in general was pretty unspectacular. For example, the chicken in my husband's pasta tasted like it was pre-cooked and chewy and my son's pasta was incredibly boring (just because he's a kid doesn't mean he should have sub-par versions of foods). The steak dip was reasonably enjoyable for the price. I think the overall dissatisfaction comes from the lack of color (vegetables) served with any of the dishes. Perhaps, having even a decorative salad to go along with the food would make up for the blandness. The service was timely and satisfactory. We expect to get what we pay for so we weren't expecting Michelin quality foods but I think the pasta dish my husband ordered was overpriced for a chef boyardee quality pasta. Can't say it was a terrible experience because it wasn't, but I think some minor tweaks would make all the difference.

I have been going to Mr Mikes for 40 years and I ordered a Mr Mike burger and fries . Worst Mike burger I ever had , done all wrong and the fries were gross . You guys need to go to Duncan bc mr mikes and see how they cook. well tried it again this time same thing mr mike burger doesnt even taste like a mike burger , bun isnt done right , no sauce on it. every was warm, lobster appetizer was warm . Ordered chicken burger and Mr Mike burger for lunch one Cesar , one app and a tea 70 dollars. This Mr Mikes gives Mr Mikes a bad rap. Try Edmonton or else where for what Mr Mikes tastes like. We will wait to go to Edmonton Mr Mikes.

Went there for lunch with my wife, our food came out really fast and our service was excellent. Lot's of parking available and the restaurant is a fair size so they could handle birthday parties etc. The decor and the pictures around you are pretty cute and funny. I had the bourbon Burger and my wife had the steak sandwich. The Burger was excellent, not soggy and the parmesan fries were on point. My enjoy her steak sandwich, it was perfectly cooked but was fan of their in house BBQ sauce ( I didn't mind it) her salad had too much salad dressing but it wasn't horrible. She enjoy it! Overall it was a great experience the managers and servers were very concerned about our dining experience which was nice!!! I'll be back for sure!

Food was great, host was great, service was lacking... possible to be a 4 star review, but... server took a while to even come to our table, it was another hostess who took our drink order. I'm not sure I felt welcome by the server, like it was a burden to serve us. Our server had passed by our table and asked how our food was a couple times, decent, no issue there, but when asked for the bill we waited a good 15 minutes before getting up to ask for the bill again. Food was great, we had 2 appys, 3 steaks, and 1 China town stir-fry, all food came out as ordered, I even asked the host to pass on the compliments to the cooks. Overall it was a great meal.

Our most recent dining experience at Mr. Mikes is what made me decide to review it, specifically the chicken wings. I will eat basically anything other than steaming excrement and be perfectly happy, so for restaurant food to rile me up enough to post a review on the internet it has to be pretty bad. Tonight the wings were not only slimy inside and luke-warm, they were insultingly small and bony, like the bones of a cat or a quail. One piece was approximately 3/4" long and consisted of bone, cartilage and skin, with no meat. All of the wings had a watery inside-of-the-freezer taste, I suspect they had been removed from the fryer a little too soon. More than half of the middle wing pieces (the best ones!) had the little bones smashed or broken, so that small pieces of bone would be guaranteed to make it into your mouth on almost every bite. Overall it was not the worst chicken wing experience I've had in my life, but it was far from the best. With the limited choices of restaurants in Kitimat I can't say that we won't be back, but I will seriously consider going elsewhere before returning to Mr. Mikes.

Our server was very slow, only showed up to drop food off, never offered to refill drinks and left most of the dirty dishes on the table as more food was arriving. Could be due to staffing shortages but we saw our server floating around so I think she just wasn’t paying attention. It is nice to have a decent restaurant to go to when visiting Kitimat but I hope you’re not in a rush. August 2021 EDIT: Came here again a few days ago and the food was great with excellent service! Not sure which experience is more representative but I’ve bumped my rating up to 4 stars.

I ordered a steak and shrimp. The steak came a bit more rare than I ordered. I asked about getting it cooked a bit more and the Manager (possibly owner) came over and apologized. Brought me a full fresh steak, and offered to replace my entire meal. I had no problems with everything else and I was quite happy with everything else. I honestly wasnt expecting a replacement steak and just wanted it cooked a little more. I feel they went over and above expectations.

Try their tomato bruschetta as a started, it will change your night!! I have enjoyed many a meal here but on this occasion the wife and I were let down. It was a Saturday night and we didn't have a booking, the waiting time we were told was 25mins, it ended up being 45mins. Now the waiting is not the issue, we new there was people before us. When we got seated we were given menus and were left alone to ponder them. More people got seated and offered refreshments, when the same waitress then went back to the people who came in after us and took their food orders and then came back to us. The wife and I thought this was rude but said nothing as we thought surely she would put in our order before the people that came in after us. No this was not the case as more tables that came in after us got their starters and their mains before we even got ours. This was an extremely busy night I get it but there is a right way of doing business. When the food arrived, the vegetables were under cooked, my baked potato was over cooked. Sadly this was a very disappointing night for us and all we wanted to do was get out of there. We missed our hockey game this evening which added to our disappointment.

Take Out - Food was ok, gravy was way too expensive for half a small container. $6 for half a container (1/2 cup barely) of gravy. I was offered gravy I said yes, if I would have known before I got back home it was going to be this crazy I would have said no. Otherwise, not a huge deal but both orders were incorrect with having the incorrect toppings. I would not advise take out. Eating in is fantastic. Take out not so much.

The music is too loud and the highs are making the conversations difficult... but the dude brought down the volume at least right away after I told the waitress... so that is good communication there. I ordered a salad with cajun chicken and it was DELICIOUS! it is a new place so I'll try more food later. I was also able to sit outside which was better - again because of their music... but the patio is ok, plants and flowers wod/will be nice there.

Excellent food, wonderful service. We always seem wait a little bit longer for our food, but it is worth it. The socialbowls are lit and the tomato bruschetta is to die for. Our fave place to bring the kids, or head out with friends for a drink and appies!

Went with the staff from work, 12 of us. Service was exceptional. Everyone got their dinner at the same time and everyone's meals were fantastic. Ranged from Burgers, steak to pasta dishes. Love me some Mr Mike's.

The best steak I've had in many, many years...a beautifully selected piece of meat, aged to perfection, and incredibly cooked to bring every morsel of flavour bursting onto the tongue. I only wish I was not visiting from Ireland and could enjoy it regularly. Compliments to the chef!

Every time we come here the service is amazing! I love the atmosphere and twice the manager/owner has acknowledged us- once to thank us personally for our business and another when there was an issue in the kitchen (and came to us himself and explained that the food would still be out etc) I love this place and I am happy to give them my business! Thank you staff and management at MR mikes! You guys are awesome and we appreciate you guys! Thank you for showing us the same amazing service when we brought my inlaws in for dinner today! It was another amazing experience!

What we ordered! Seafood Alfredo no onions, cheese toast ,shrimp, soup, butter chicken, salad, two orchid berry drinks, vodka sampler and coke! What we got! Chicken Alfredo with onions sent it back! Received the soup and shrimp for my husband! My seafood Alfredo came back as chicken again no onions! Ate alone because they forgot his meal! Didn’t get my cheese toast! Paid almost 60.00 and left hungry!

Hit all the expectations of a Mr mikes. Our waitress was fast and friendly, I stepped out for a phone call and she put my food in the warming station without being asked. When I came back she brought my food to me and checked that I was still OK with the food or if it needed to be replaced . I wish I had her name she was a great server !

Joining me was a co-worker for dinner tonight. I recommended the sirloin and shrimp dinner which I've now enjoyed at Mike's for the third time. It's become a go-to platter when I'm undecided on what else to choose on their menu. Again, the "rare " steak was perfectly cooked and the shrimp were fantastic. I recommend this place over the Keg's. I've been to the Keg twice and to mr Mike's 5 times because of their steaks. Plus, our waitress was uber friendly and displayed total T,I,P,S,, "to insure proper service". And she did. We'll definitely be back again. Over and over, for your steaks and ribs

Hostess was friendly. Waitress was inattentive considering how few people were in the restaurant. Food: $43 steak was burnt. Could taste the char on every bite. Green beans that came with it were overcooked and soft. Had one and left the rest. Poutine fries were soggy and rubbery at the same time. Cajun chicken fettucini alfredo was bland, which was surprising considering that it has 3300mg of sodium in it. Overcooked noodles. Got a slice of garlic bread and it was stale, cold, and barely buttered. I bring my own to-go containers to restaurants, so I packed it up after a couple bites to take it home and add seasonings and eat it later but I have a feeling it's just going to sit there and rot in the fridge. Would have sent it all back and re-ordered but we hadn't eaten all day (by 9pm) and just wanted to eat and go home. Will not be returning.

Ordered a few appies to go. Phone staff was friendly and accommodating. When picking up the order, I was brushed off by two staff members and I assume the manager was doing paperwork on two guest tables. Once I was asked what I was there for the waitress promptly went to get my order. She assumed she was getting a $10 tip on a $60 dollar order and when I asked for my change she seemed upset. Just my opinion but the word tip should never be mentioned to a customer. Got back to the hotel and opened the order. Oh my... Sizzling Steak bites? Hardly! About 8 pieces of small beef that were dry and cold. Stuffed mushroom caps? Burnt and slopped into a container. Potato skins? Burnt, very thin, and cold. Artichoke and spinach dip. Not bad. Deep fried pickles. Good but pretty tough to screw that’s up. On the whole I’d say it’s very expensive for what you get. Presentation is lost for take out orders, might be different when dining in. We have had a better experience when ordering from The Brewhouse with better food at a cheaper price.

GREAT food, great atmosphere and great service. Love their panko shrimp tacos, garden veggie burger, panko shrimps in the appetizers menu, lodge chips, yam fries, and the tomato bruschetta. We loved playing scrabble and chess there, as the restaurant lets you borrow certain games. Would highly recommend.

I went to this restaurant last night with some colleagues. I ordered a fish and chips that came overcooked. Clearly was done and they fried again. I asked to change the plate for chicken tenders. They took ONLY THE FISH FROM THE PLATE!!! Left a bunch of fries for me and came back after 15 minutes with a grilled chicken breast!!!! Everyone on the table had finished their dishes, so I told the waitress that I wouldn't eat anything anymore. Guess what? They charged for the fries!! I told her that it was my first and last visit to the house and she just looked at me, said "I am sorry to hear it" and never looked back. Well, here is a place that will never see my money in Fort Mac.

I made a reservation for 6pm earlier on in the day and when I had shown up there was no table and nothing ready all tables were taken and never got to eat there as we had made the reservations for that time specifically for the fact my boyfriend had to work at 3am the next day I will never go to the Mr Mikes in dawson creek again if I want Mr Mike I will go to the one in Fort St John.

Haven't went there in months. Last few times I have been greatly disappointed, definitely isn't what it used to be in terms of food and service. Update: decided to bring it down another star from my last two star rating. There isn’t many choices in Dawson to eat so once in a while you have to go around the block and go back to that same restaurant with mediocre service. Last night we tried to go back there for a bite to eat before bowling. Pros: my dinner was good, the yam fries were actually really crispy and tasty, the mike burgers have surely gotten smaller everyone at the table noticed. My boyfriends pasta was luke warm - they also didn’t ask if any of us wanted fresh ground pepper which is a standard question waitresses would ask guests normally. And his “garlic” bread had little to no spread or flavour. My brother and his girlfriend got wings that were apparently good as I didn’t try them. And they also had a steak sand which the steak was cooked perfectly to their liking their one shrimp scallop sauce they ordered on the side didn’t show up, and they also asked for just a teriyaki chicken breast on the side - the waitress brought out an entire teriyaki chicken rice bowl. When the waitresses brought out mine and my boyfriends food there were empty plates on the table that could be taken, she partially walked away and then came back and said “is there something wrong?” In an awkward tone... like idk?? Do you not realize you’re trained to remove plates from tables as needed? The service was really awkward and We won’t go back again. We don’t expect to be treated like royalty but just regular friendly on the ball service would be nice. Not a mixture of good and bad food and 5 different people bringing out food or asking if we need something.

Food was delicious. Server was absolutely incredible!! I told her I wanted extra extra crispy fries and that's exactly what I got and I was extremely impressed. Getting fries the perfect crispness is very rare but they did it perfectly. I've been to places that think "crispy" fries are ones that can bend in half without breaking. No thank you. The Seafest Fettucini was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! As a serious pasta, and all things Italian, lover and connoisseur... they did incredible!! I didn't even want to eat it because it looked so beautiful. The plating was impeccable. And the gravy with the fries was absolutely delicious. Super thick and brown. Just like it should be!!
