Wow the best restaurant I have ever been in cranbrook. The front staffs were super friendly and their service were just outstanding. The chef personally came and interacted with me on my table and that made me feel really good. Me and my friends order chicken lababdar, butter chicken, naan, lamb chop and rice on table 1. The food without a doubt was delicious and outstanding. I didn’t know that they serve something called “chef special” for being the first customer of the day. We were lucky today to receive that and it was again delicious and superb. I highly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant and enjoy their delicious foods whenever you are in cranbrook. It is better to check it out and experience yourself by going there. Usually I don’t write review this long but this restaurant deserves it.I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

This place is fantastic! Service and food were both exceptional. Dishes are remarkably original (who ever heard of butter chicken poutine!?) and everything tasted amazing. We had the butter chicken poutine, cheesy kebab, and special curry.

This place is no joke. Didn't think to try this place until recently because of the lower visibility due to its location. The service here was great with a very attentive server and the chef coming out and asking how the food was. The cashew cream dishes were especially good. The flavours here are definitely a notch above the other Indian food offerings here in town.

The Best Indian food i had after I settled in Canada. It brings back memories when my mother made food for me. Me and my friends had garlic naan with grill prawn, lamb vindaloo and calamari. Very tasty and full filling. When other restaurants go for just filling the stomach, the chef make fall us in love with his delicious food. The chef came to us and made sure we enjoyed the meal in between.

Ate here 11/20/2021 based on the smell of cooking while checking in to the hotel and what a great decision it was - fantastic food (Lamb Korma and Coconut Mango Chicken) and a fantastic, friendly staff. Cranbrook, you have a hidden gem here - take advantage.

Best Indian restaurant in town! The flavours are fantastic with a good variety of dishes. The spice levels aren't the usual mellowed-out vanity levels you get in most fusion restaurants: hot is hot!! (And delicious). The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself isn't fancy or fussy; it is however, very clean, and open and bright.

Had a very nice dinner at the Bay Leaf the other night. Both the tandoori chicken and lamb birayani were excellent. Atmosphere is so-so, but service was good, portions are generous, choices are many, prices reasonable and the food is superb. Definitely plan to go back on our next visit to Cranbrook.

My husband and I recently visited the Bay Leaf restaurant in Cranbrook and had a delicious meal. Truly authentic flavours and a great variation within the menu with generous portion sizes. The garlic coriander Naan breads were to die for . The staff were so very knowledgeable, attentive and courteous too during our visit. My husband, two kids and I were visiting nearby in Kimberley for a mini-vacation last week and stopped for lunch here after reading the positive reviews. The restaurant is very simple in decor, but the service was warm and the food was delicious. We enjoyed all of our food including the papadums (my 6-year old gave them an A+ rating), the butter chicken, the cauli aloo, the okra masala, and the garlic naan (so light and fluffy). We have eaten as several Indian restaurants in different cities and the Bay Leaf restaurant is now one of our top 2 favourites! The price was very reasonable for the portions we received. Dilip (sp?), the owner and chef, came out to greet us and answer questions we had about the menu. Incidentally, my daughter had recently read a book about Nepal so she was pleased to find out that Dilip and his wife (our server) are from there :) If you are passing through Cranbrook, do stop by and support this wonderful family-run restaurant. We liked the food so much that we tried to eat there again for lunch the next day but it was closed as we didn't check the hours beforehand, haha. We look forward to returning in the summer for a visit. We wish you the best of luck with the restaurant Dilip!

Amazing food! My wife and I ordered the Tikka Masala and the chicken Korma with Garlic naan bread. There was about a 5 minute delay, but the staff were very nice and welcoming that the time flew by and the food was still very hot and fresh! Thanks again and we’ll be back for sure!

My wife and I were on our way cross country and checked into the Days Inn in Cranbrook. We found Bayleaf Indian Fusion in the hotel and experienced a wonderful meal with service to match. I tried the Lamb Chops which turned out to be a culinary delight; perfectly cooked medium rare on saffron rice with a mild sauce. My wife went with the butter chicken and, once again, it was a home run. Fernie draft Pilsner on tap was the cherry on top! Thank you for a terrific meal and thank you for your attentive service. I don't usually take the time to actually write in the reviews I make but I had to for this one: This is hands down the best and most authentic Indian cuisine I have ever tasted! I highly recommend Bay Leaf Indian Fusion to anyone looking for a meal in Cranbrook(they even have western food if you aren't familiar with their stellar authentic options). Location is great, atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable, the prices were extremely reasonable and portion sizes were great (I left full and satisfied, yet took half of my meal home and enjoyed it later) The staff were so inviting! The Chef even came to check on us, and I couldn't thank him enough for the delicious food! I can't put into words how much I loved it! You must eat here ! If I could give more than 5 stars I would !!! P.S I should have taken a photo before I scarfed down half my plate and my naan because the presentation was lovely before I dug in! It just looked and smelled so good I couldn't even wait to take a photo ????

Went for lunch today, the food was fantastic. The service on the other hand was not. There was only about 3 other tables and it look forever for the server to come check in and take our order. Bill was split incorrectly and didn't get to see the receipt until after I paid so that had to be changed.

Absolutely Phenomenal food and service. Warm welcoming staff paired with the delicious aromas of the Nepalese and Indian Fusion gets you hungry before you sit down. The food is next level good. The lamb and chicken is perfectly tenderised and seasoned, you can cut it with your fork. We stay at the hotel for 10day rotations for work, and we eat here 4 or 5 times during those 10days. When I ordered for take out, the wonderful lady at the door brought my food out to my truck because I had my small child in hand. No where else have I received service like this! It was lovely to meet the chef & owner Dilip tableside. His emotion was apparent when speaking of his passion of his menu and of the kindness of the people of Cranbrook. I had an amazing experience at bayleaf. I went there with my family on my friends recommendation. Though my food was severed a bit late, I was treated by a complementary dish by chef later on and it was delicious. Overall the foods were absolutely worth full waiting,it was delicious. We were staying in the hotel and could smell the restaurant down the hall , such savory smells!. We went for supper and had such a great experience we all ordered different meals and shared to sample each one. I could not stop eating it was so wonderful. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Indian food, looking no more, this is THE ONE. I love Indian food and used to eat Indian food quite often before moving from Calgary. After I was disappointed by the new Indian restaurant in town, I almost gave up trying another one, but one of my Indian friends recommended Bay Leaf. So I gave it a shot. I am glad I did. The food was good, so was the service. I am picky when it comes to food. I know well enough about Indian food to know what is good and what is not. Vandeloo beef is always my favorite and they know what they are doing. Highly recommend it if you like spicy food. ☺️

Driving back to AB from BC and wanted a place to eat lunch in Cranbrook, was happy to find this 5-star Indian restaurant in the Days Inn and so glad we tried it! A strange setup (like an old conference room with tables and dark green walls) but the food was seriously delicious. Super crisp papadum, delicious birayani with huge chunks of chicken, and flavourful in-house special curry. You can choose different levels of spiciness, I found that Medium was just right for everything - a bit of heat without interfering with your tasting your food! Tasted fresh and authentic and as good as any Indian restaurant from a major city. Excellent service, our water glasses were topped up multiple times and the main server/owner? was so happy to hear we loved the food. Can’t wait to drive through again and stop for another meal here!

My husband and I overheard people raving about Bay Leaf, so we tried it for lunch. Wow, they were right it, it's fabulous! We will definitely be back. Best South Asian food we've had in the Kootenays for sure.
