5 stars in the realm in which it dwells obviously - not by international standards. But am I crazy or has A & W totally upped the game in fast food? Compare breakfast here vs. ANY other chain. The important things like the place is always clean - the staff are pleasant - the quality and presentation of food is great. Plus - who else makes a perfect rootbeer float?

A lot of the staff are new employees or temporary foreign workers and they do not have the basic lingual skills or receive adequate training to handle the money or input the computer orders. This transforms to much slower service and overcharging the customers.

we visited A&W when we were visiting Canada and found it to be similar but a little bit different than its American counterpart they tend to appeal a little bit more to the Canadian customers by offering things such as poutine which are fries with gravy if you're unfamiliar with that the one that we visited seem like it could have used a little touch-up on their cleaning but the staff are friendly and the food was decent

I went through drive through yesterday evening. I was the only person in drive through to begin with. The lady working the drive through took my order and pulled me ahead to the window. I had noticed that I was waiting a long time for my order, (going over 2 minutes without seeing any movement in the store) and in my rear view mirror I saw that same lady go to change a garbage bag at the back of the store. Eventually another truck pulls up and this lady starts having a multiple minute conversation with this customer. It wasnt until one of the cooks in the back had to come out and give me my food. The lady was then called inside by another cook and went straight back to work. It appeared like she didn’t wash her hands or anything after changing the drive through garbage but I could be mistaken. If I ever go to this establishment, it will be during the day.

May 4th visit in the middle of the pandemic: The staff was not wearing masks nor gloves. They were using hand sanitizer. Without the workers using masks I felt HIGHLY UNSAFE eating their food.

They offer only one vegetarian burger, you can lettuce wrap any burger, they have sweet potato fries, good coffee. Free WiFi, lots of seating, a few tables outside. Friendly fast service.

I visit this a&w most weekend mornings and they are usually very quick with service and have never made a mistake. A&W as a whole... The egg in the breakfast sandwich sometimes taste funny and I wish they could do beyond meat on all burgers.

I get English muffin bacon and Eggers, I usually toss the English muffin and use hashbrows as buns......so good. But be careful if you order that in the afternoon hashbrows outta the oven are so very hot???? staff are usually friendly, and I have never had my order processed wrong.

A fast food place doesn't really deserve 4 stars, but A&W is trying. Hormone free, steroid free food is a big plus for me when I need to eat on the road. Plus their pop is as natural as pop can get. It's still all sugar, but no chemicals or corn syrup.

Stopped by this A&W on the way home, super accommodating with our last minute request for Strawberry milkshakes. They started up the machine and made them for us before we left. But i went to use the mens washroom after i was done eating and it was a disaster. 8am in the morning and there was toilet paper all over and a poo stain on the seat. So i ask the lady to clean the seat and she just blasts it with disinfectant and walks away without drying it. What kind of pig sty is this? Solid bacon and egger tho. Would not come back

Can’t stand A&W in Cranbrook. Nicole is the most miserable woman I have met in my entire life. Like.. worse than my ex wife somehow. Don’t know who puts you in such a bad mood every single day of your life but you need to learn how to get over it when you’re in a customer service role. I continue to come on the rare occasion because A&W was a lifelong favourite but I don’t even do drive thru most days with anxiety that she will be my server. Don’t know how you make someone like that your manager. That was your first mistake. I can only imagine the amount of customers she’s chased away that didn’t have access to Internet to review but I can’t even count the amount of negative interactions I’ve witnessed alone. You NEED a new manager before she kills this place. A&W used to be HAPPY but she has been miserable for AT LEAST the last three years. FIND A NEW JOB.

Probably the worst A&W I’ve been to in years. The Kimberley one lacks as well so I wasn’t surprised to find out that it is the same owner. I have had many, MANY issues at this establishment and the assistant manager is absolutely no help or use either. Have you never worked another job in your life? You would be fired instantly for your attitude problems, lack of work ethic, and many more issues you’ve displayed through trying to “fix” my problems. Ive eaten in a handful of times and always found the staff to be cliquey. Openly making fun of other staff and even customers behind the till. It is an open restaurant with low level music... obviously we can hear you. I will never ever support this business and I hope many of you follow this.

WAYYY TOO SALLTTYY!!. Found out that so long as the chickens aren't given hormones in the last three months of their life before slaughter, they can claim they are "grown without hormones" and the same goes for the beef. (including antibiotics). Just thought I'd make people aware. And did I mention the food here is WAYYY TOO SALLTTYY!! Root beer. Gotta love the root beer though so it gets one star.
