Real food made with real love... Stopped in right at close and they welcomed us right in. Had southern fried chicken which was extremly juicy with a delicious crispy skin, the baked beans were sweet with a slight kick at the end and the candied carrots to die for. Great place ran by great people.

I have wanted to go here for a long time but I don't live in the area and never had the time when I passed. I finally got to eat here yesterday and it did not disappoint! Not only is the food absolutely amazing but the service is top notch. I felt like I was at a family or friends house, they were so welcoming. We also didn't realize they were closing in 10 mins. They seated us and gave us menus without hesitation and did not rush us the entire visit. The home made food came out fast and was so delicious! We also couldn't leave without dessert...which didn't make it home. I have nothing but great things to say about this establishment and it was well worth the wait. If your looking for Home cookin, freshly baked desserts, loafs & cookies as well as real sweet tea Comfort & Soul is where it's at! Can't wait till my next visit!

I brought my mom here a couple of months ago after blueberry picking. The food was good but the place is awful. Behind the cash is a bunch of clutter on the floor. When we finished our meals, the waitress, who also owns the place I believe, was too busy paying attention to the regulars and we were waiting for quite some time to get our bill. Then waited a while at the cash also. I don't think we'll be going back since we are not valued the same as the locals.

I really like how big the restaurant is as well as the decor. Very unique. Our server was attentive and kind, and the food came quickly. It so felt like home-cooking, which I love. The candied carrots and pulled pork with brown sugar sauce was an absolute treat. However, the coffee and the water tasted off-putting and the washrooms did not feel very clean and fresh.

I’ll start off by saying the waitress was an absolute sweet heart, but onto the food. I ordered the chicken fried steak and brisket meal.I replaced the potato’s with fries and wish I hadn’t, they were a soggy under cooked greasy mess. The brisket is definitely not smoked it tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot then reheated in the microwave. The chicken fried steak was so over cooked it was like chewing on a shoe, I took one bite and was unable to swollen it and the gravy tasted like flour and that’s it. The corn had way to much pepper and lacked flavor, all the food lacked flavor honestly.

Can’t begin to explain how amazing the food is here Great southern style smoked brisket and the chicken and waffles are to die for. Definitely worth the 2 hour drive from Kitchener. 6/5 stars easily.

The food was amazing, my husband got the Knoxville chicken and I swear the breasts were from a pterodactyl. I got the blue plate special and omg it was so good and I was in love with the potato bacon leek soup. We usually head over to the United States once a month or so for a meal but I think I would much rather take the drive to comfort and soul ????

As I originate from the southern states, I ordered the chicken and dumplings it being one of my favourite food. The taste was unpleasant and not at all like southern chicken and dumplings. I do suggest maybe looking up s Pinterest recipes as they will give you a better chicken and dumpling recipe.

We made our first visit to Comfort and Soul last Friday November 27, 2020 for dinner and we will definitely be making this a regular visit. Our table ordered a bacon, cheeseburger with fries as well as a pulled pork meal in BBQ Soul sauce that came with fries and baked beans. The fresh hand cut thin fries are fantastic and we were certainly impressed with the portions. We are left wanting to try several other menu items that also looked amazing, so we are now hooked and will be coming back to try them. By the way I am still laughing that I had the Slap your mama Chocolate cake and wow it was rich, moist and delicious. Also have to say how impressed I was that I was brought liquid honey for my green tea when I ordered. Such an impressive touch!! Finally we want to make mention of the fast friendly service that we had, as our waitress took great pride in explaining the menu items and choices when we told her it was our first visit. Good food, portions and very reasonable prices!! You won’t be disappointed!!

I used to LOVE this place when they were in Cedar Springs, specifically the smoked brisket, but everything was good. A couple weeks ago I brought my GF to the new location for dinner. The brisket I received was most certainly frozen and microwaved, it was flavorless and so dry that even my Cutco knives struggled to cut it. PLEASE take items off the menu if they aren't made fresh, I was so disappointed I don't know if I'll come back.

Our office ordered for lunch and love supporting local so thought we would try this place - there was 7 of us and out of the 7 , 6 of us were disappointed. We had high hopes as we love southern food . Majority ordered the fried chicken sandwich which had no flavour the lettuce was wilted and the mayo was obsolete, but the chicken was hot but no flavour. The fries were not good at all , we all threw them out .( try a different kind of fries maybe thicker cut and seasoning salt ) The girl who got the chicken fried steak was not impressed, no flavour. The only one that was happy was the girl who ordered the chicken and dumplings . This is not what we expected for southern food . Maybe look on Pinterest for some good southern recipes!

Me and my friend got the chicken-fried steak and when it was delivered, the delivery guy said how good it was it's the best thing on their menu, so we were so excited then we open it, it was a tiny little piece of tasteless chewy piece of beef that almost choked me the gravy was good but there was not even any seasoning, the breading was soggy and wet, I will never again eat there unless they make the chicken fried steak better and make it less pricey, I've been waiting for so long to have one and I make a way way better one at home for the fraction of the price!????????

I went in for lunch/take out today, I asked how the cabbage rolls were, lady says they are big and homemade, so I tried them with a side of mashed/gravy and "candied?"carrots...Honestly the cabbage rolls were bland and were previously frozen and microwaved back to life? The whole meal tasted old :( Hell no.

The portion sizes are great and the loaded fries are good. But I had pasta Alfredo and it didn’t taste very good. It had a sour taste and I wondered if it was ok to eat. It was also very bland. My husband had spaghetti with meat sauce. It wasn’t anything special. I’m not sure we’ll return.

This is the place where you always feel welcomed! Very local like place. It's a country diner type feel. Small place. Laid back, easy and relax feel. Place to go if you love home cooked meals with a country kitchen flare. Super affordable! Best brisket ever! We have visited 6 times. Amazing friendly service! You feel like you're family.... leave with a smile from warm friendly service, your belly filled, wonderful locals who are happy you're there. Plus lots left in your wallet! Always refill your coffee too! Freezer filed with meals to go too. Great pies.
