The Civil War Re-enactment society held their Spring "Mardi Gras" Coltillion here. GORGEOUS venue and the food was incredible! When we bought our tickets to the event, we forgot to mention an allergy, but it was managed very well by the staff, and I was still able to eat all the courses on the menue! Everything was set up wonderfully, and the venue itself is beautiful.

They are providing a beautiful outdoor eating area with a surprisingly large menu for a venue that isn't typically a "restaurant". Great service and the ribs were so huge I thought they my be from a wooly mammoth!

We attended for a family restaurant Sept 14. Beautiful facility. Perfect weather! Only complaints were the PA system was terrible, could not hear the speakers and we sat just around the corner from the podium. The wait staff/bartenders certainly could have been more friendly and smile. Our waitress just slammed the plates down in front of us and did it quickly. And paid absolutely no attention to the coloured dots on the place cards. Ie my boyfriend was ‘no dairy’ and when she placed the dessert in front of him I had to draw her attention to the fact he was no dairy. Then it took 1/2 hour to get the fruit cup.

Exceptional venue, tastefully decorated with many earth accents and features that leave you feeling relaxed as soon as you enter the space. Wonderful location for both in town and out of town guests as you are seconds from the 401. Jennifer the manager is superb and does a wonderful job making sure everything is planned and executed to perfection 5 out 5

Company's Christmas Party was held here this year. Giving it a 3 stars coz the food very quite tasty and good quality. But service was pretty slow. Lose 2 stars to the small parking lot and only 3 stalls available for ladies so there's a long line for a big crowd. And only 1 stall in Men's!!! Isn't this place set up to cater big crowds? Plus the dance floor is on the lower level not on the same floor as dining. Many people left early this year as we can't linger around the tables.

Our family held a Celebration of Life and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a really nice cozy place with ambiance. You don’t have to share the venue with other parties, the food was delicious and a vast quantity of it. We had ordered food for 100 people; close to 140 guests came and we had more than enough with some leftovers. The ladies working there were super friendly and helpful. It was nicely decorated for our occasion and quite fairly priced. We would definitely recommend this place.

Thanksgiving dinner night. $50 per person/$30 bottle of wine. 3 hours total, food was amazing. Seemed alot of time waiting for the next coarse. Then waiting for coffee/tea that apparently was included, but never showed up, only our bill but after three hours, time to go! Just want the chef to know that he did a great job but service was lacking. Also, had us walk around the building at night to get to our cars down steps in un-lit areas, difficult with our elderly parents.

Attended The Pines for a company function. I was rather disappointed considering their reputation. On the plus side, the staff did seem to work hard and the food was tasty. On the poor side was running out of food, $8 drinks, 10 people to a table, hard seats (see the picture), unprepared tables ( our table was missing glasses and one was dirty.) I would have expected better. You may want reconsider your events, there are better choices.

Everyone at the wedding complimented us on the choice of venue. The Pines is so beautiful that very little decorating is needed, which saved us a lot of time and stress. The backyard area backing onto a river is perfect for pictures, and for outdoor ceremonies too. We had our ceremony inside, and it worked out perfectly. The top floor accommodated our 140 guests for the ceremony as well as a guest book table, a gift table, a table to sign the marriage license, and a candy bar off in the side room. After the ceremony, everyone went downstairs for cocktail hour, and the hor d'ouvres were incredible (12-15 varieties served!). While we were tasting these wonderful treats and accessing the open bar, the staff were rearranging the upstairs for dinner. and oh my, what a dinner. Everyone loved their meals. The roast beef, chicken Kiev, vegetable Napoleon, Caesar salad, and raspberry compote brownie were all hits. The servers continued providing courses (and wine!) as the speeches went on, and then everyone was ready to head back downstairs for dancing. It is a beautiful dance floor, and everyone had a great time. All of the staff provided fantastic service, and made sure the bride and groom were taken care of. The bridal suite out back was a nice feature. It proved a useful space during down times when the wedding party needed a snack or a break before they were shuffled off somewhere else. Working with Jennifer was always a treat, and she was happy to keep in contact and answer all of our questions via email, text and plenty of in-person meetings. For such a beautiful venue—which you get all to yourself: no dueling weddings!—the price is fabulous, even with four hours of open bar service included. Almost nowhere else in Waterloo Region provides a cost to value ratio as excellent as the Pines. If you need a venue for your wedding (or any event really!), it has to be The Pines. Everyone who attends will thank you.

First time ever visiting the Pines. We were hosted by them for a bridal shower. Very pretty & well decorated. The food/apps/eats WERE DEVINE! Staff was friendly & COVID mindful. We enjoyed the venue & the view of the river too.

I read the reviews about the food etc. However for someone with an ailness they don't have adequate washroom facilities nor does the staff care about getting it cleaned promptly for use. I witnessed a person leaving to go and use the washroom at the fuel station next door.

Everything was just perfect for our recent celebration at the The Pines! Jennifer was very responsive and accommodating in helping us host a spectacular afternoon reception for 80 people followed by a family dinner for 50 people in honour of our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, especially the home-baked sweets for the afternoon reception! The wonderful team at The Pines made hosting so effortless that we were able to really enjoy the day as well. The service, food, special efforts and support we received were exceptional and instrumental to achieving a truly memorable and special day for family and guests alike. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Pines for anyone who wishes quality service and a unique ambience. The team at The Pines exceeded our expectations. I can't thank them enough!

Over the past 10-15 years we've been to 10 - 12 different events at The Pines. I can't honestly recall ever having a bad time. The location is fantastic (central location, with plenty of parking) food was always amazing, the staff was always friendly, and management was always concerned about the details (which reduces the stress on the client). Full disclosure - My brother was married to one of The Pines owners many years ago, but that bears no influence on my review - I'm simply stating what I and my family have experienced there. One added benefit of dealing with either Lyn or Jennifer was their honesty... l like dealing with 'straight shooters' and if they recommend a particular dish, you can count on it being great. I've grown to become a foodie which makes me a difficult person to impress (as you'll read from some of my reviews LOL), but these two have come through time and again while other event planners / facilities continue to disappoint me. Bottom line - when I'm invited to an event at The Pines, I'm always looking forward to it. Nice work ladies!

The Good-- The food was very good. Very tasty and well presented. Beautifully decorated venue. The Bad Not enough coffee. Paid for 35 people. The carafe held about 7 cups and they had to make more and it took a long time. Had to ask for the most basic things like spoons for the coffee. No sweetener for the coffee. Had to ask for tea. A guest had tea later and it was cold. No forks for dessert and no knifes for the cheese dip. The food took forever to come out. It came out in bits and pieces. It was like everytime they brought something out they had to go back and make another tray. No one greeted us when we arrived. Honestly, it was like they were completely unprepared. For the price we paid for it I would have expected better service. Pretty disappointed.

I just realized that I never posted a review when I got married here almost 3 years ago now! Haha. It was a great day. The venue is very big and different than any other wedding venue I've ever been too. Everyone enjoyed their time and everyone one LOVED the food. Every time my wedding comes up, people rave about the food. Jen and her mom are the sweetest and were a great help to make our day beautiful ❣️ I would definitely come back for another event in the future.
