We hired Urbane Culinary to cater for our wedding. The event includes serving cocktails and hors d'oeuvre for ~75 people. The food was absolutely amazing and staff was very professional and friendly. Our guests and family had only great things to say about the whole experience. Caroline and Craig are both very passionate at what they do. From the creative food ideas, beautiful food presentation (and taste), helpful tips and advices, to ensuring the event goes smoothly. We could not have asked for a better team to help us. The people at Urbane make it incredibly obvious that they care - every step of the way. We asked for a corporate themed luncheon for 70 people and Urbane went above and beyond! They were fantastic to work with, super accommodating and very quick to respond and then the FOOD! Every item was obviously crafted with care and imagination, each item tasted amazing and they display their creations beautifully as well. The Urbane team catered our corporate Holiday party with a cocktail reception style and bar service. The variety of canapes, charcuterie boards and desserts were visually pleasing and delicious. My personal favoruite canape was the warm wild mushroom tart with goat cheese, a perfect pairing on a chilly December evening. They selected the wines for the evening, that were approachable and paired perfectly with our selection of food. They offered impeccable service. All of the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and anticipate the needs of guests. We couldn't be happier with Urbane's high-quality food and exceptional service.

We did a lot of research when it came to the catering for our wedding. Food was an important aspect to us. We compared them against Great Event (terrible food) and a number of others in the city. Hands down, Urbane was an ultimate winner in every sense - food quality, cost, staff, service! We contacted them, they immediately responded and asked if we could come in for a tasting at no charge. We sat with the organizer Rebecca and the chef/owner in their facilities kitchen which was clean and well organized. Being able to watch the food prep right in front of you was really great. They got to know us during the meal and offered recommendations on how we could personalize our meal. The food was spectacular! Their attention to detail was outstanding. The day of the wedding everything was just as perfect! The food was fresh and so well prepared - not an overdone carrot in sight! Their staff was wonderful and attentive, they were respectful of their surroundings - it being at my parents house - this was important. The quotes that they sent through were very comprehensive compared to others. They made supplying staff an “all inclusive feel” as opposed to hiring on a per server basis. This gave us peace of mind that the event would be fully served without paying through the nose for each individual staff member. There were no erroneous charges and the bill was as expected. They have since followed up to ensure our satisfaction. I couldn’t say enough about Urbane! They were spectacular to work with. I highly recommend them for your next event!

Had the fortune to enjoy a catered event by Urbane Culinary. Absolutely exquisite! The presentation and flavours were the best I think I've ever had at a catered event and would rival pretty any of the finest restaurants in the city. Everything came off without a hitch and you can tell that they really take their time to plan out their events. Meticulous would be the best word to describe their attention to detail. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the best of the best.

It was genuinely the best meal I’ve ever had. I was a little wary about catering initially but my husband and I have already talked about hiring them annually for our anniversary! Urbane created an entire 5 course meal within a week and customized it specifically to our wants/needs. Each course was so unique on its own but flowed so beautifully together. To top it off you 100% will not be leaving the meal hungry. We were eating our wedding food for a whole week after!!

Urbane was amazing to work with for our wedding. Rebecca sat down with us (telephonically mid COVID) and went through exactly what we wanted. We needed gluten free for the bride and they were the most accommodating from all the caterers that we spoke to. We also had a clear idea of what we wanted because of COVID, and they met and exceeded that idea. All of our guests were raving about the food during the wedding, and everyone had a favourite item that they wanted more of. We did a cocktail style of many small dishes and everyone left feeling full. We had a guest miscommunication that they needed Vegan food, and when we approached Craig and Kristina during the food service they able to accommodate and those guest were also well taken care of. We also used Urbane to send a Mother's day pre-made meal and this was received very well by Mom. We will be keeping an eye out for future promotions from Urbane and any other opportunities to work with them.

This was our first event post covid lock down. The team at Urbane was really on top of making sure everyone still felt safe and went out of their way in relation to cleaning and distancing. The great part of the evening of course was the amazing food, from delicious lamb pops, veggie flatbread to grilled chicken people couldn't rave enough. Rebecca was the server for the evening and did a great job checking in throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Urbane for any event from small dinner party, cocktail reception or a larger event. They really know what they are doing.

Urbane was absolutely wonderful to work with while planning a wedding during the toughest restriction in Alberta during COVID. They adjusted our date for final guest count in hopes that restrictions would lift. When they didn't and receptions were not allowed the Urbane team went to work and came up with the creative solution of sending home grazing boxes with each guest. Beautifully displayed and specifically chosen elements, the guests went home delighted with their own box. The team was so great to work with, friendly and flexible. Highly recommend!

As the person who coordinates the catering orders, I am also continually impressed with Urbane's service, menu customization, and willingness to work within a given budget. In addition to the meeting and event catering that Urbane provides, they also handcraft fresh sandwiches, salads, and freezer bowls to be sold in our Sundry Store. As an event coordinator, I had the opportunity to hire Urbane Culinary (Urbane) on behalf of one of my clients. This client has extremely high standards due to previously owning a restaurant and working in a field that exposes her to first-class restaurants around the world. As a result, I am very cautious when recommending a new restaurant or caterer for her private events. This particular event was deeply important to the client not only due to the nature of the event, but also because of the high-profile guests in attendance. For this event, I was responsible for communicating with Urbane to obtain a final quote based on menu items specified by the client. I was also responsible for overseeing the catering during the event and acting as liaison between the client and the catering representative. Firstly, Urbane was sensitive to our time constraints and were very respectful and responsive. They sent the first quote within three hours of our request with each menu item detailed including recommended quantities and prices. We had two follow-up emails with revised quotes provided, and every detail was completely finalized within a total of less than six hours. Secondly, Urbane offered an outstanding customized and creative menu. The client requested 13 custom items, e.g. “mini French toast to dip in maple syrup”. Urbane responded by providing every single item requested, adding imaginative flare, and taking into consideration the theme of the overall event, e.g. they turned the example client request into “Open-faced French toast, creamed brie, maple-crumbled smoked bacon, and apple butter”. These were as delicious and decadent as they sound, leaving the client and event guests suitably impressed. From the first reading of the quote, the client’s staff was already gushing and expectations were exceeded on the day of the event. Urbane will definitely be a new first choice for future events! Thirdly, Urbane was prepared and committed to meet all the client needs. Their senior staff attended the site visit to help them with planning; they obtained the liquor license, linens, flatware, china, etc. on our behalf; they contracted the appropriate number of staff to prep and serve at the event. Finally, Urbane provided professional service before, during, and after the event. This included: • Arriving on time with efficient set up. There were a few things that Urbane had to troubleshoot during setup (shortage of china cups and insufficient power supply), but they kept us informed and provided solutions. • Meeting the highest standards of health and cleanliness back of house and front of house. The event program took longer than expected, which meant that some prepared food was standing longer than expected. Food items that did not meet Urbane’s standards were not served, but reserves were available to ensure that partial/adequate service could continue after the program. • Starting service on time and extending service beyond the agreed time due to the unexpected length of the program. • Tearing down and cleaning up beyond the expectations of the venue—the venue manager expressed that the venue was left extremely clean reducing time and effort needed for his cleaning staff. This summarizes my first experience of working with Urbane Culinary. I could not have been happier with the response from my client, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other clients.

My daughter had her Wedding October 2020. My family and I and our guests were very pleased with everything this company did for my daughter's big day. The decor was just beautiful, they think of everything that was needed that we didn't think off. The food was just wonderful , we had the best tasting food, from the start of the reception all the way to the end of the night. What I loved was everything was fresh ingredients used for the meals. The person that worked at the Bar was very pleasant . To be honest with you what they charges us was worth every dollar they charge. They set up the venue and clean up the venue. They did the Decor etc.They did it all..Wow! We are still talking about what they did to make everyone felt special. These people in my book is at the top of my list. Thank you to the head cook, and the staff, for doing such a wonderful job. We my family and I would call upon Urbane Culinary again.

When selecting a caterer for our wedding, our venue had very specific requirements because it was a heritage building and they recommended Urbane. Not sure what it was going to be like and knowing many of our friends are “foodies”, we booked a tasting. The food was phenomenal and the ability to accommodate a menu to anything you desired was evident right away. We book three food stations and beverage service through them and they did not disappoint. Not only did they help our vision come true, but the bar service was fantastic and they were able to handle our thirsty crowd of 130 people. They definitely know how to plan for large events and their food is of high end restaurant quality. Many of our friends and family complimented us on the three different dishes we served. Thanks again to the Urbane team, as the night truly wouldn’t have been as special without you.
