Went there for lunch dine-in, had the vegetarian traditional thali. Fantastic. Very fresh ingredients, piping hot & freshly made naan. It's a small place, targetting take-out, so no fancy decor or ambiance but I'm quite impressed.

I have been a regular here for months during pandemic. Here are their best items I recommend (I am vegetarian FYI). 1. Chole Bhatura 2. Paneer Lababdar 3. Hakka noodles 4. Okra Mango Curry (too oily, they need to lower the oil here) 5. Tandoori butter roti is decent 6. Samosa is ok but not a fan They need to work on a strong appetizer menu a bit to get more traction!

I’ve been there two times, once before Pandemic (Dine-in) and one time was after pandemic (Take-out). If you see with the Value for money factor, this restaurant is not bad at all. I wish they could have more space inside so more people can dine in since there only 3-4 table available but I guess they have no other choices either. Shikanji my favorite item and I am sure everyone might like it. For the mains, I think they are good at some dishes while average or below the bar at some dishes. Defiantly it is hang out place for bachelors but it’s hard to imagine this place with full grown big family. Although it has quite more than enough parking spaces as always.

This place is 100% takeaway and kept very clean. The food is pretty excellent, with a mix of traditional Indian food and more "fusion" like dishes like the butter chicken poutine. Call ahead and place your order, and don't forget to get extra garlic naan!

Great service. Absolutely loved their food! Found it a bit spicy at times but has authentic taste and the food is so finger-licking good. Not hard on the pocket. Small spot for dine-in with 4-5 tables. Take out is a better option. Haven’t tried the daily specials yet. Will give it a go some time soon.

Wow! I haven't even finished eating yet (takeout) and I felt like I needed to come review Royal Cumin immediately. For context, my order: 1x chicken biryani, 1x egg bhurji, 1x khaas fish tikka, 2x chole bhature, 1x butter naan, 1x plain naan. The order was meant for two people. So, if you've eaten Indian food often and are like me, you start getting favourite places for different staples. I just had THE best naan (amazing texture, fluffy, doughy, fresh), the best bhature AND the best fish tikka I've ever eaten...and I haven't even scratched the surface of their menu yet. I'm sitting here next to my girlfriend, both bloated, dying - because it was so good we ate twice as much as we wanted to - and I'm already reading the menu to see what I want to get next time. They have so many things that sound interesting as well as different takes on Western fusion dishes. We didn't even eat half the food yet. What we ordered is easily enough for 4 hungry adults. I wish I had a photo to post but that'll have to be next time. It smelled so good we were opening the containers before we even took our coats off. Amazing job, guys. Can't wait to come back.

We had take out order and asked the mildest spicy they have and they nailed it. We enjoyed Indian food without worrying if it's too hot. My husband and I love their food. The service was okay but it was too hot in the restaurant, it's like the heater is on in the summer time. One thing I gave it 3 stars is because the delivery service was a joke when I asked for it, I have to wait one hour and they didn't met the time said and asked me to wait more so I cancelled it and the chicken biryani was like 3 or 4 cube chicken in it and more rice. It's like rice biryani with little chicken for a $12. Good thing we love it though but it could have been 5 stars if there were more chicken in it and they delivered it when I asked for the delivery service. The food is great but the delivery service is very poor I should say.

This is our first time ordering from Royal Cumin. We moved from Mississauga and had an Indian restaurant in our neighbourhood. We have been in Burlington for 3 years and have tried every Indian restaurant in Burlington but nothing compared to what we had in Mississauga. Until today! We are so excited about what we just enjoyed. We look forward to trying other menu items. They have lots to offer. Thank you for bringing your expertise to Burlington. You have to try Royal Cumin!!

Loved the food here and the overall atmosphere. Everything was fairly priced and even the sweets tasted good too. Staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking outside. Only issue I had is the wait time, they’ll tell you a time and it’ll end up being way longer. We were told it’d be ready in 30, took about 50. Overall, i’d definitely recommend giving them a try.

This place is beyond all the fine dining restaurant I have been to. This is my go to place for North Indian, Hakka, Indian street food. They have great selection of dishes. Well, the menu is vast and varied, unfortunately, the taste was not as expected or hoped for. I always gauge a good Indian resto based on how good the naan will be, texture, taste etc. The naan was an abject failure. Very rubbery and chewy. Big disappointment. Ordered the chicken tikka masala. It was ok, but, not great. Have had much better, particularly in Burlington. Tried the okra/mango masala, it was decent. The fried fish was very good. The spice level we had was medium, and it was overpowering. I can handle an extreme amount of heat (i'm south east indian), and at times, the spice just overwhelmed the flavor of the dishes. The chicken biryani had an odd flavor, and not in a good way. All in all, this place had a lot of promise but failed to deliver. Will not be back.

So it's 445am and I'm writing this review from the toilet. I'm all for supporting local businesses in Burlington and giving them a chance. I order two simple dishes to test this establishment out. I called for my order Sunday evening for a chicken byrani and lamb kebabs and naan. oh I told the owner a few times do not make it spicy as my little kids will be eating as well. I got the good old yes sir yes sir..... I knew when I saw the soggy mess of a naan that this was going to be a disappointing meal. the kebabs were covered in oil 3/4 of the container. The byrani had like 4 pieces of chicken and just rice way too spiced. oh did he make it mild....of course not. I had some of the food as I was starving and so did my spouse. we're both sick on the toilet now. I will be reporting this place to health and safety. Do yourself a favor and do not visit this place. I should have just gone to Bombay Grill....what makes me more concerned who the hell are these 255 likes????

Went to this place based one someones recommendation,, the person said that the food in this place puts the rest of the Indian Restaurants in Burlington to shame!!!! It s so true !!!! THE FOOD IS AMAZING !!!!! THE MENU HAS INDIAN STREET FOOD LIKE "VAVDA PAV" !!! Soooo Yummy, the Schezuwan Chicken Noodles is lovely, the Okra/ Bindi with mango is great and the Chicken Hakka curry is great !! So flavourful !!! The MASALA TEA is the best I have tasted so far !!!. Simple place , clean , the two guys have got it down to the pad .. Will be visiting frequently. GOOD JOB GUYS!!! KEEP IT UP !!!

We ordered lunch here last week for the first time. It was delicious! The butter chicken pasta dish was huge, had quite a kick (I'm not the best with spicy food) but I could still eat it. Lots of sauce and great taste. I also tried the crispy corn baskets. Had no idea what they would be like, but I love corn so, why not? They were also delicious and so different! Crunchy bottom layer with corn and maybe onions, possibly tamarind sauce and crunchy noodle like topping. I really have no idea but they were delish and I would absolutely get them again! Try it if you like Indian/Hakka food. We will be back.

Disappointed. Ordered Goan Shrimp for over $15 it contained exactly 4 tiny shrimp. Salad was 70% sliced onion container. Lamb was okay but for the price not worth it. Unlikely that I will return. Expensive and little value compared to other Indian restaurants. Will not be back.

Ok food but quite expensive. Butter chicken sauce was watery, like soup and the chicken very dry. The daal was flavorless and watery also. $14 for a curry with no rice. Roti is expensive for what it is. Better off buying everything yourself and making at home. Despite the taste, will find another option next time.

Best tasting Indian food in the Hamilton-Burlington region. Service is quick and they also serve Indian-style Chinese food. The prices are reasonable too and you'll be tempted to come back for more. Must visit place!! Because of space constraints it's better to order a take-out or visit only with friends. Not ideal for a family visit.

The BEST Indian restaurant by far!! My husband, parents and I found this little hidden gem on our way back from Ikea. The chef and lady working were very nice and down to earth! The food was so flavorful and fresh you can tell everything was cooked with love and perfection! The naan bread was unlike any other we have had, it had such a wonderful flavour. Perfect amount of spice, great prices and so filling!! We will definitely be going back again and again. It was a lovely experience! The rose drink was delicious as well! We had the “dinner for two”. What a deal. It came with 3 curries, 2 full sized naans, about 3 cups of rice, appetizer, and a nice dessert. All for $45 Food was very delicious, prepared fast, and filling with lots of left overs. The two guys working there were friendly and welcoming, they were jamming out to some reggeaton when I walked in. Definitely going back here for more.

It was PERFECT!! It was worth every penny and the 40 min wait. The only thing thing that it wasn’t perfect was the sweets. They were too sugary but I don’t think they make it there anyway.

If FRESH, clean and tasty is what you are looking for that's the right place. In my opinion, best everyday dining Indian restaurant in Burlington. Clean organized kitchen where most dishes are prepared right in front of you. Spices mixed and added on the spot. fresh food made from scratch from real ingredients (not some premade sauce from a jar). I'm not Indian so don't know just how authentic dishes are. But I know tasty, I know fresh and I like healthy flavourful food. That's why I'm recommending with a review

What a terrific place. Is your classic hole in the wall with terrific food. I trusted the other high star reviews and glad I did. When I arrived outside the place I was a little hesitant. I checked the high reviews and said not everyone could be wrong. From the outside it does not look like much. I took the plunge went in and ordered. So glad I did. Really good Indian food with very rich flavours and good portions. It is more of a take out place and not an eat in place. It is one of those places you brag about finding because it is such a gem.

I ordered lamb biryani, it was the best biryani I have had in a long time. The amount was very generous with ample meat that was very tender - falling off the bones! The dish was cooked extremely well and the side of raita complemented the taste palate. Also had beetroot kebabs - they taste like meat! Highly recommend :)

I’m Canadian, I went here with a fellow from the UK, who up to now felt any Indian food made on Canadian soil was ‘tolerable’ at best, and he’s tried all Indian restaurants in the Hamilton/Burlington/Oakville area over the past 7 years - he left Royal Cumin just now, crowing its praises, and is planning to take fellow Brits here. Lamb in the vindaloo was juicy, rather than the dry lamb you encounter elsewhere; the Mango Okra Masala made me realize I like okra. Best Indian food around!

Very ginger-y and full of spices. If you like an overload of spices, then this is for you. It's rated quite high so we had high hopes. You could see all the onions and ginger in the dish, whereas most restaurants make their curry much smoother. It's definitely a different taste.

Stay away from this place The store operator mocks customers and gives unsolicited advices - They charged 2 dollars even for the smallest can of Diet Coke without telling before hand. Even the costliest gas station will not charge that much . There was a young guy around the age of 30 with a beard and head dress when I went in . He was rude and funnily mocking customers . Food was ok but I will never return here as their attitude is bad . Mocking customers and calling them crazy , giving unsolicited advices to customers and calling them crazy in his low volume by that young guy , I never had such experience anywhere in Canada . I will never recommend this place . Why give our my money to a business with this attitude to customers

Gave this a try tonight as our usual Indian restaurant’s food quality has been declining. I was a bit wary of so many 5 star reviews to be honest but was curious nonetheless. It was such a wonderful surprise - the trio chicken tikka was so juicy and flavourful as were the chana masala and kadai paneer. This will definitely become my go-to Indian restaurant. It totally deserves 5 stars!

I visited this place when It was just opened before 2 years and guess what since then now I m visiting this place twice a month or more. I did order party catering once and all of my friends and family are always demanding food from this place. Prices are good, food is always fresh and tasty 10/10, staff is always welcoming and friendly. Feel free to get chef's ideas for best party food arrangements. I'm sure you will really appreciate.

The veg thali was not tasty at all. Curries/sabjis didn't taste like authentication indian. We ordered spicy food, instead they added garam masala on curries. Also sweet in the thali was too much sweet. Totally artificial taste. Naan and idli was ok. Service was also good.

Despite being very busy at the time of our visit, the guys there were incredibly hospitable to our family of six! A bunch of burly guys were amazingly gracious with our kids. They helped us through the myriad options to get a great sampling of dishes well matched to our desired level of spice! The food was delicious. I never had anything like the mango okra dish- it’s a must have! Price was very reasonable too! If we didn’t live 13 hours away, we’d be regulars!

We were told my a friend to visit this spot on our way back to the GTA from Niagara. Unfortunately, my friends and I did not enjoy the food. Although the food was hot and fresh, for the taste it was overpriced. The chilli chicken we ordered was more of a soup and was not at all what we were used to in Toronto and surrounding areas. Also had a strong vinegar taste. The rice dish we ordered was bland. Overall the food did not taste good especially if you're used to similar food in Toronto and other Indian spots in the Niagara region.To be fair, this was our first visit and thus did not try many items but based on this experience we will not return.

One of the places to avoid. We purchased GAJAR KA HALWA and I would not call it gajar ka halwa as I think they just mixed water in it and it tasted horrible. And the whole order tasted so bad as if they just want to complete the orders without taking care of the taste. The place has hygiene issues too and looks like they don't care about keeping the place clean. And the lady at the order counter has attitude problem. This place used to be good when it was opened, but now their food is horrible and expensive. Now they are just serving bad food with lots of attitude.

The place is small(preferably for Takeout)but we sat there and had lunch and it was so yummy.We ordered Chicken briyani(full of spices).Karahi Paneer and Daal all three were so good that i went to food coma after eating.Naans are the best so far i ate in GTA area. Food portion was good enough for 4 people .I wish they had some more Dinning area for big families .But this place is a hidden gems in Burlington.Price is also good(not too expensive).I definitely order again.Must try place.

Had the worst food and experience here today, First they put me on hold for 20 minutes when i called and then food was bad. Ordered Punjabi goat masala and there was no flavour in it, seemed like they added water from top of it to increase the quantity. Would never visit back here.
