Yo Bones has been the only caterer I’ve used in the greater Vancouver area for all of our lunch presentations for quite a few years now. He’s also done a couple events here at Cascadia Windows and more coming up. Rick is awesome to deal with and makes my job as events coordinator easy when it comes to needing food!! I love parties and organising them, Rick brings the food part above and beyond. I would recommend his services to anyone, for any type of venue. He always accommodates all of our special dietary needs and has many different menu options for all occasions! On a personal note I hope to tie the knot within the next couple years with the love of my life. I can't wait to ask Rick of Yo Bones if I may have the honour of having him cater for me! Rick is one of my favourite people to deal with and always looks after me and my colleagues.

Yo-Bones BBQ catered our outdoor wedding and it was amazing!! Somehow, with only 3 days notice and a small budget, Rick was able to deliver an amazing selection of food for our guests. Everyone raved about the food-- it was so fresh, tasty and fast! I can't recommend Rick enough for any catering needs you may need. He was so easy to communicate with, responded really fast and even designed a beautiful custom menu for our guests to choose from. I am very grateful that people like him that truly care about their food exist. Can't wait to use his services in the future :)

My first time trying this bbq place and was really looking forward to trying it, specially seeing the pictures being posted online. I ordered a beef brisket but it turned out pretty different from what I saw on the ads. Not sure if this is how it is in person or the ads is just to entice customers. Heres the photo of the ad taken where you can see the brisket's nicely sliced and mines where its on the brown box. Was really disappointed in my order and not sure if I would recommend brisket in this place.

For the second time in the Covid era we used Yo-Bones to cater a small family event outdoors. Both times Yoshi arrived promptly and set up with a smile and an eagerness to please. Their set up keeps food warm and the food itself is a hit with my family. So easy to get Rick do the cooking and serving for your event! Love that beef brisket, baked beans and corn bread. Sadly so does everyone I know so left overs are hard to come by.

We hired Yo-Bones so we could properly distance for an outdoor 80th birthday. They were amazing. Arrived with an 80th birthday banner, a special happy birthday menu, cupcakes in a lovely display, recycle/compost station and lots of beverages for a hot day. They didn’t just make it easy they made it special. Every dish was delicious. Lots of choices. Quick responses to all my messages as we figure out our plans. Flexible on numbers and options for guests on day of. Helped clean up plates. And left everything like they weren’t even there. Couldn’t recommend Rick and his team more!

We pre-ordered the Family Value Meal today and got so much food for a great price! They forgot to give us something at pickup and called us right away to rectify it. They have great customer service and gave a bit of extra because of the mix up. It is so nice whem a business values their customers and trrats them well. Highly recommend! Yo Bones is a gem hidden right off the corner of Kingsway and Tyne. When you find it you’ll be served right at the door and whoever’s there, whether it be Rick or Yoshi never disappoint with their care for their customers. Always going above and beyond to make sure you’re meal is exactly how you specified. When you get home be prepared with some clean napkins and an empty stomach. The portions are great for the price and leave plenty for leftovers. The Brisket Slider is my go to, if you don’t need too much but still wanna get your bbq fix it’s perfect. I also usually get the macaroni here and I can’t say enough good things about it, just try it! If you love barbecue don’t just wait for their food truck to come to your neighbourhood. Get down to Yo Bones and pick yourself up some saucy goodness!

Had Yo-Bones for the first time - found on a Vancouver Street Food app. Very tasty Father's Day lunch. All of it was good, pulled pork and chicken, potato salad, cole slaw and cord bread. I will try and find them again in the future for sure.

Full rack of ribs, 1lb beef brisket, both really good. Get extra sauce for $0.25, it’s worth it. Healthy portions. Beans were good too. Mac & cheese was interesting, there was a deep smoky flavour to it, and the noodles were cooked well; al dente. Would order again from here again.

Let me begin by saying I ordered this through Uber Eats and towards right before they were closing, so I feel that these factors may have affected my experience. The pulled pork mac and cheese was straight out of heaven. The rotini pasta was perfectly al dente. The cheese sauce was delish and the pulled pork was tender and smoky. The chili was pretty tasty too, but I do wish they had cornbread when I ordered. I'm glad to see they added that to the menu. Unfortunately, the beans and brisket did not match the quality of the other items. The beans were too sweet for my taste and it almost felt more like a dessert. Texture was fine but they definitely need to dial back the sweetness on this. The brisket was the worst item I had. It was super tough and leathery. I didn't taste much smoke nor did it have any melt in your mouth fat. I was disappointed because I'm a big fan of brisket. Again, this may have been because it was the end of the day or the meat didn't travel well, but I am hesitant to try it again. I'm keen to try their cornbread and indulge in that amazing mac and cheese again though, so I'll be back. Update: Gave it a second shot and the brisket still left a lot to be desired. Bummer. Cornbread is good though.

So glad I found you guys! Pork ribs were perfect. Big and firm just the way I like them. Sauce was just the right amount of tart. Would recommend always buying extra. Great brisket which I’m planning to add to breakfast hash tomorrow. Pulled pork on cheese macaroni was a meal in itself. Highly recommended.

Can't believe I've lived four blocks from this place for five years and just found this place. Had the brisket, mac and cheese, beans and cornbread. Everything tasted amazing especially the mac and cheese. The guy there was very friendly. Support your local small businesses and check this place out.

This was my first time trying this place, and was excited about it after seeing all the great reviews. I have to say I was quite disappointed. I ordered the beef brisket after seeing they had posted a video of slicing up some really juicy looking brisket they'd made that day. This is what I got though. It was super dry, and it was all shredded up. It is not an exaggeration to say it was like eating jerky. I saw some pictures of other people's brisket from here and it didn't look like this, so I have to imagine that maybe I ordered on an off day or something. Not acceptable for $28 though. Also ordered their ribs, which were also a bit on the dry side, but overall not bad. Sauce was good. The potato salad, cornbread, and beans were all pretty good. They had the food prepared quite fast, and the packaging was great.

Rick catered for my wedding. He went above and beyond what I expected. He is incredibly easy going and generous. He was willing to accomodate food changes/ preferences. He was on time, super efficient, and kept everything clean. He allowed me to mix and match food items and was really great with the communication. I can't thank him enough for what he did/ delivered. Completely fantastic, super thoughtful, awesome guy! I reccomend him to everyone.

Tucked away off a one way street you will see the food truck and the small cutout window to order. Friendly service. When I compare BBQ I have a baseline of Smoke Shack BBQ from San Antonio, Texas. Would have liked to have more smokey flavour. Pulled pork could have been more tender. The search for stellar BBQ in Vancouver continues.

After being a long-time customer of Memphis Blues, we decided to try one of their competitors in BBQ meats. We have always ordered from every restaurant online, ever since the pandemic. To our dismay, the BBQ we ordered arrived stale, nasty, dry, and in tiny portions compared to MB. What's worse is that Yo Bones costs considerably more for the same dishes! We were so disappointed with our adventurous experience that we decided to go back to our former "safe" choice.

We had Yo-Bones in our Bus Yard today for our Driver Appreciation Lunch. They were here early and ready to go before our 95 people started milling in. They offered a great selection (Chicken, Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Mushroom Bean Burger with a choice of 3 sides and drinks). There was something for everyone! The drivers were thrilled with the portions, it was hot, tasty and the service with excellent. We we absolutely use them again for our next function! 100/100! The price was less than we expected and well worth it!

So good I'm writing my first review to rave about it!! Got two orders of cornbread and so glad I did because those golden nuggets are hard to put down. Ribs fell off the bone in my hands, so tender and literally melt-in-your-mouth. Sauce was ***amazing*** hands-down the best bbq sauce I've ever had. So complex, smokey, almost mysterious! True care was taken with all the flavours - beans and potato salad were equally complex and the coleslaw was incredibly light and delicate, the perfect balance to the fireworks going on in the other dishes. I had to put down my fork between bites and thank g-d I was alive to experience this amazing meal - I'm not even religious! Portions were big and generous. The half rack is the same size as a "full" rack at all other places I looked at and half the price. Sides were also double the size you'd get at an average bbq place for the same or lower price. I have enough of everything left over for a great lunch tomorrow... if I can manage to leave it alone overnight lol. This food restored my faith in humanity. Get some asap!!!

Got the brisket and mac and cheese with beans on the side and my wife got a pulled pork sandwich. The brisket was tender wulith generous portions, and the mac and cheese was waaaay better than what you would expect from any mac and cheese, the beans were also great and looked homeade. Wifes pulled pork was so good that she wanted another. TLDR: Yo-bones bbq will 100% satisfy that bbq craving when it hits. And their BBq sauce is da-bomb
