From the very start ( right after we've booked our venue ) we decided to go with Savoury City. I didn't have a dress picked out yet, or even have a photographer, however we knew that the food you serve at your wedding, is the most important "gift" you can give to your guests. On our very first meeting, we met with Donna, and her staff, and we were were blown away by their level of professionalism, their knowledge of foods, customizing dishes, and perfectly detailed planning. We knew then, we were in great hands, and a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. Knowing that Savoury City and Donna, will be there on our special day, it was a huge honour. Their 5 star treatment, hands on decorating and planning, helping everyone out and catering to all of our guests needs, really left us wondering: what else is there left to do?! Savoury City does it all, and they sure brought on the magic on our wedding day, as our Fairy Tale themed wedding really came True! Hands down, it was the best decision we've ever made, our dishes tasted exquisite, leaving all our guests saying: " This is the best food I've ever had at a wedding!" and that is exactly what we wanted to hear. This review is a long time coming, so I apologize for being so late! Savoury City was our first choice for our catering for our small wedding reception. Susan was an excellent contact that was on top of every little detail. She knew all the right questions to ask and had great suggestions for us. She was great on returning emails and keeping in contact with us as we were dealing with her from California until the day of. The staff was absolutely perfect during our event. We had so many people returning with compliments about how kind and professional they were. They had brought all the fixings and took care of our little details (putting together our cake toppers, timing some music for our guests, displaying all the h'or d'oeuvres so delightfully, and more) that we had not taken into consideration. Our night would not have been the same without them, I have recommended them to a few of our guests that attended our reception and will continue to do so for anyone's corporate/private catering needs! We had been working with Savoury City for a little over a year to fully capture the vision for our wedding day. My husband (fiancé at the time) and I looked high and low for a catering company that would be able to give us the friendly and efficient experience we were so set on. A search for just the right caterers is stressful and time consuming but after a few emails back and forth with one of their event planners and I knew I'd found what we had been looking for. We were some what of an odd couple because we knew exactly what we wanted and knew exactly how we wanted it so when we put everything in their hands we were definitely sceptical. After our first meeting with the team any concerns we had were completely shattered. We were met by a firecracker of a woman and were instantly made to feel so welcome that being at Savoury City felt like a long, warm hug. Unfortunately we were arranged with a different event planner due to a career change for her but our next planner was just as stupendous if not more so. Joey and his team tackled our wedding like true champions and brought more of the wedding to life that we ever thought possible. Leading up to the day I was nervous about the whole celebration playing out as well as our very unpredictable Vancouver weather. Joey was so involved in the whole process and continued to update me on the progress of the team and sent me updates on weather changes. The day of our wedding he worked alongside my friends and family to collectively turn the UBC Farm into our fairytale wedding. It's no secret that he went above any of our expectations and it is a part of the day we will always remember. After our ceremony he met us with drinks to celebrate which was even more thoughtful and considerate than I think he may have known. For our cocktail hour we had tray passed appetizers along with wine and beer for all our guests. Joey was an amazing and professional being but the service staff was also golden and continued to be so throughout the entire night. Throughout the cocktail hour and reception we had probably close to every guest mention how truly taken they were by the whole day, experience, and of course food! My husband and I are foodies and have been to our share of weddings with bad food, so food was one thing we wanted EVERYONE to enjoy and to remember. Our personalized menu paired with Joeys expertise was the cherry on top for our fabulously executed wedding. I've babbled more than needed but truly want everyone to know our experience with Joey and Savoury City. We've passed them on to a few friends already but for us we won't hesitate to have them again for another event!

We hired Savoury City for our outdoor engagement party "I DO BBQ" and their food was such a hit! Everyone loved their appetizers, Southwestern potato salad and large cookies. It was delicious! I have ordered catering with Savoury City for four work events and was very impressed with the quality and selection of their food as well as their service. One of the events required sandwiches and desserts for a large lunch meeting. I appreciated how each sandwich and wrap was individually labelled, making it easy for guests to make their selection, and I heard a lot of positive feedback about the variety they received. Everything was delicious. Another event was much larger--a reception for almost 400 guests--and we ordered one of their afternoon tea menus. I liked that they allowed us to customize the menu to fit our purposes and budget. Most importantly, the staff really went the extra mile for us that day and made sure all the platters were set up and ready for the event. I overheard a lot of people asking where the catering was from--luckily, their branded napkins did the answering! I would highly recommend Savoury City and look forward to ordering again with them in the future. I have booked catering with around 6-8 other caterers around Vancouver for business meetings and have to say that Savoury City has been the best. Catered my wedding, First the price kept constantly jumping up, Even after the agreed price. Second they were super late, couldn't get a hold of them until 10 mins before my ceremony was suppose to start... told them if they were going to be long they couldn't set up till after the ceremony, once they arrived...the guy talked one of my friends into being able to set up and said he would be just 5 mins. Obviously that was impossible... he was suppose to arrive before my guest were there... It was mighty embarrassing to have him set up while people were waiting for my ceremony to start. He had some girl in the van, not sure if she was a worker or why she was there.... We had to stop him from finishing the set up before my commissioner had to leave and rebook my own ceremony .....we kept our peace though and made sure we didn't add any negative energy to the situation... The look of the food was nice, but one of the lemonade jugs didn't work, my sister got the guys attention to fix it and he was super rude to her, in fact I may ask her to write her own experience about that in her own review. overall there food was good. Its to bad the experience of everything else was soured. The reason why I went with savory city was because of the good reviews I had read, and the food looked elegant, but when you have employees over stressed or overwhelmed or what ever that he was feeling during someone's most important day of there life it leaves a bad and everlasting impression.. so even though the food was put together nicely we didn't enjoy it. Edit to my review, there really should just be a reply option. On a wedding day, it's suppose to be a day of joy and positivety and that's what was important for us to keep in tact on this day. Emotions are already high and full of stress and nerves, to give into any bumps could really impact the day negatively so of course we kept calm and of course we looked for the positives but that doesn't mean we didnt feel dissatisfied with how that was handled. I'm not blaming your employee I really felt bad for him, and I didn't want to put more negative feelings to an already awkward situation as I don't believe it was exacly his fault. He seemed very overwhelmed and off and I would probably feel that way too. And that's where my review mostly comes from, as I know you have had many good reviews but in situations of late arrival what is your policy? How do you expect people to react and feel especially on a day of celebration, a day well thought out? What I would think is best is phoning your customer before panic sets in? Assuring them there food is on its way and making sure the new arrival time won't impede on a important moment. I was on the phone with you 10 mins before I was suppose to marry my partner. Of course I was keeping my cool. That's my memory and an important moment for me. I think we handled ourselves with grace. As I know a different person may have really lost there temper. As I said before your food was elegant, it was good, we got lots of compliments of how good it was there is no issue with that we could feel there was good energy and love put into it. I think it was great you guys replied and virtuous of you to refund the set up and delivery fee. And I hope you guys can take my words with good intentions and a chance to self reflect on situations like these towards your customers and employees.

What a great experience we had working with Joey and the Savory City team to cater a surprise party for my mother. Right off the bat, we knew we were in good hands: Joey's attention to detail and focus on delivering above-and-beyond customer service was evident at every step, from the detailed and professional proposal he provided initially, through his site visit (it's rare to find a caterer who likes to do this), to handling a last-minute venue change. At the event itself, three fantastic people took care of our every food and bar-tending need, including moving one of our tables to a different location because all our guests had decided to assemble outside! We served hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, as well as a few platters, and had ample delicious food for all. Love at first sight. Our first meeting with Donna was a connection of minds and she quickly understood what we were going for. Fresh, local, fantastic, and simple recipes and presentation to let the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. The Savory city team was fantastic on the day. Several guests felt they had made besties with the bartenders. The timing and quantity of the food was perfect, as several guests commented. People were full and satisfied w/o being so bloated they couldn't get up on the dance floor. There may have been some licking of the desert bowls but that would have happened regardless of the quantity. So good! Thanks to everyone at Savory City for making our wedding a huge success!

I have worked with Savoury City a number of times as a wedding coordinator and have found them to be stellar every time. My experience with Savoury City was nothing short of extraordinary. We wanted the best food at our wedding with an Italian alfresco theme and Donna knocked it out of the park. Great food. Amazing service. We catered for 80 people. We just wanted afternoon summer party. I had no catering experience before. Joey helped us with a menu and then explained it all to us. Then we made some adjustments to tailor it it our needs. Joey was very accommodating. The contract came promptly and all was correct. The food was delivered exactly on time and exactly as promised. The food looked great and tasted great. Our guests loved all of it but top marks to the yorkshire pudding and the salad rolls. It all worked out so well and we were very happy. Even better we had like no wasted food as it all got eaten.

The staff worked diligently to set the tables beautifully, set up the wine and beer bar and the buffet tables. Their attention to detail was only outdone by their professional and friendly manner. Fantastic caterers! I was planning a birthday dinner for my 90 year-old mom remotely from Florida and Sarah K. from Savoury City was the best! She was very responsive and great to deal with via emails and phone calls. When you're planning an event 3,000 miles away you have to put a lot of trust into people and Savoury City didn't disappoint. The dinner was fantastic and everyone raved about the food. It was hot on arrival and presented so very nicely. The birthday cake was beautiful and very tasty. Their prices are extremely competitive and I felt it was worth every penny compared to going out to a restaurant (there were 12 of us dining at a rental condo). Sarah K. went above and beyond to ensure everything would be perfect for this dinner. I would HIGHLY recommend these caterers - I used to be an event planner so my standards are pretty high.

I first enjoyed Savoury City's catering at work lunches. The sandwiches always taste fresh and they offer exciting varieties (my fave is the roast beef with crispy onions). I always take any extras back with me to my desk as a 'snack for later', and end up eating way more than necessary because they are just so tasty! But my real review starts here... We were looking for a caterer for our wedding. After going through many sample menus from a variety of catering companies, we found Savoury City's most exciting sounding and most fitting to our tastes. We connected with Susan and instantly hit it off. She understood our vision, made all the right suggestions, and helped us make such a daunting decision into the most fun experience. She was a gem to work with and was very helpful in so many aspects of our reception planning. We feel so lucky to have had Savoury City as part of our wedding day - everything went incredibly smoothly and our guests were raving about the food and the service all night and days after. We barely had any leftover food as many of our guests went back for seconds, thirds and even fourths! I highly recommend using them for any of your events, big or small. From beginning to end, Savoury City has exceeded our expectations. The event coordinators, Joey and Susan, were professional and an absolute joy to work with. Joey primarily handled our event and not only was he attentive to our requests and needs, he's constantly looking after us to ensure our wedding we hosted as a Garden Party went perfect and stress-free. On top of that, the staff at Savoury City were polite and extremely professional. The chefs prepared amazing food and servers and bartender ensured our guests were tended-to. The team even helped setup the entire layout of the floor plan, and ensured it flowed and allowed guests to move around and mingle. Our office has been using Savoury City for over a decade and while we've tried other caterers in the past, we always come back to Savoury City. The quality of the food, the variety, and the great customer service, from the minute you initially place the order to when you get the order have been unequalled elsewhere. We've had to ask them to accommodate very specific (and occasionally unusual) dietary preferences or requirements, and they've come through every single time, including a corporate style buffet for a relatively small group (only about 8 people) with a particular theme and several dietary preferences that wasn't on their usual menu - and they did a fantastic job. Both the clients and our partners raved about it. Their reliability is very good, but on the rare occasion where they got it wrong (and bear in mind, we've been using them for years), they are all about making it right, and they really do. I would recommend them for corporate and personal events - fantastic food, fantastic people, fantastic service. :)

I have been using Savoury City for years now for both private parties, meetings and work functions. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. There are so many delicious options to choose from and I have learned to trust the team to plan the menu for me - I have never been disappointed. The staff is always a pleasure to deal with - professional, helpful and no one ever seems to be in a bad mood over there. My only disappointment is when they stopped doing the frozen meal deliveries to your door! I am a devoted fan of Savoury City and recommend them to everyone.

I'll start out by mentioning I have never eaten or used this company's services. My encounter was with one of their drivers on the street. I approached a 4 way with the driver stopped to my right. He had been there for at least 40 seconds because I had seen him there from up the street as I was approaching the stop sign. I gave him a honk to see if he was going to go, and he looked up and started waving papers at me and obviously yelling. I'm not sure why he thought it was ok to do paperwork while stopped at an intersection. I went and he ripped up behind me, honking and yelling still. I had my 2 young kids in the back and drove right past my house so he wouldn't know where I lived. So, the food may be great here, but their hiring policy obviously is not.

We recently hired Savoury City to provide catering following a family funeral and we were extremely pleased. We went with the individual boxed entrees because of our concerns around communal food and Covid-19. These were an exceptional value and all of the entrees we selected were delicious. Savory City catered our wedding reception in late July 2015 and it was a fabulous experience working with them from beginning to end! They took up the mantle from our first coordinator and did everything they could to work within the original plan and budget, suggesting really helpful amendments and adaptations along the way. Our guests commented on how it felt like the team, led by the wonderful Susan, were friends of ours because of how attentive they were to every question and request which came their way. And, of course, the food itself was great - especially the delicious assortment of appetizers!

We hired Savoury City to cater our wedding in June at UBC Botanical Gardens. They passed appetizers and signature cocktails for 120 guests, followed by the most incredible family style dinner. Dessert was incredible and the midnight snack was a huge hit. Working with Joey to create our menu was so fun, and he helped us create the exact dinner we wanted. They took on organizing all the rentals for us which was a huge help and a seamless process. Their chefs work hard to bring in top quality ingredients and everything is so fresh. All the staff members who worked at our event were lovely - polite, helpful and fun! Overall we had a wonderful experience working with the team of professionals at Savoury City, I would highly recommend them and would certainly use them again for another event.

What an amazing company...I had called a dozen other caterers to try to book an urgent event for my father's funeral service. Some of them didn't even pick up the phone. We only had a few days to plan the event. Joan was so pleasant to deal with and incredibly responsive. I had the privilege of meeting Donna Wadsworth of Savoury City Catering when I began planning my daughter's Vancouver area wedding. As an interior designer residing in the Toronto, Ontario area, I had the major challenge of finding the right catering company that could create absolutely sumptuously delicious food as well as an amazing and beautiful presentation. Donna did not disappoint. I experienced tastings with other catering companies and came away unimpressed. Donna always went the extra mile. Knowing our penchant for a more elegant, vintage, country aesthetic, Donna set her tasting table beautifully- including her mother's antique glassware. Yes, it is about the food, but for myself and Donna, it is also very much about a wow factor presentation. Donna is fun to work with. Planning a wedding from a different province is a stressful process and Donna made her piece of the puzzle a pleasure. I love her personality, her honest manner and her great enthusiasm. Her timely response time and her eagerness to exceed expectations all point to the fact that Donna just "gets it." I absolutely do recommend Donna and her team from Savoury City catering.

We ordered the Mother's Day brunch and it was AMAZING!! We are still talking about it over a month later. The food was excellent, the packaging was tasteful, practical and efficient and the cost for the amount of food was very good. Plus I didn't have to cook! Highly recommend!

Then two weeks before the event they have cancelled my order . The guests are already invited and I have no idea whether I will be able to find another catering company in this shot period. We had an amazing experience from start to finish with Savoury City. Ashley was so pleasant and kind to work with while assisting me in organising the catering for the event for our group of 54. We had multiple requests and changes and she took everything in stride to accommodate us and even saved us on our $800 BBQ and tent rental by researching the venue and locating a BBQ from them. The day of the event went perfect, the caterers showed up well before we did and had everything timed perfect according to schedule. The food was delicious, this hard to please crowd was definitely pleased! The salads especially were to die for. I would highly recommend Savoury City & will definitely be using them in the future.

Held a catered dinner party for 12 in my home for the first time. Joan at Savoury City did a great job of helping me plan the menu and I was thrilled with the end result. The Chef and Server who came to my home provided phenomenal service and the food quality was excellent. Was so nice to be able to relax and let them take care of all the details and service. The ordering process and food was decent. Had to re-ask a few questions a couple of times before getting an answer as it was missed in prior emails but it was not a big deal at all. The delivery /catering experience was horrible on the other hand. The driver arrived 35 minutes after the 30 minute designated timeslot. As a result, 25 executives were sitting in a boardroom waiting for lunch; not a great use of everyone's time. I had to call the company twice to see where it was. First call yielded a generic 'I think he will be there in 5 to 10 minutes' without even checking on where he was. I called again at the 20 minute late mark and the lady called the driver and said he will be there in a few minutes. He ended up getting there in another 10 minutes. She offered to take off the delivery charge and send me the invoice. 3 business days later I still have yet to receive an updated invoice. When the driver arrived and started laying out the food it was clear he was new. He did not know exactly how to display the food and arrange it in a nice format. Turns out it was his first day so I do not blame the guy. Training should have been provided rather than sending him to fend for himself. Lastly, there was no milk or cream for the 30 cups of coffee. The food quality does not make up for the lack of professionalism and reliability for catering to corporate events. The client should not be wondering where the rendered services are especially when it is late.

Savoury City's team trekked in waves over to the small island where it all took place to execute an incredibly rewarding event.
