If I had a choice I would give 0 stars. We placed an order two weeks before a family wedding for some platters to be made. We were told not to worry it'll be ready the day before we needed them. When we got there, our order did not even exsist. We had to wait around for an hour to get the platters ready. No discount offered no apology, just told it was a miscommunication. Never again! Do NOT get your wedding platters or sweets from here!!!!!

Take it from those who don't get good indian sweets.. the food was amazing and the staff was fantastic.. simplicity of the sweets at its best.. nothing fancy about samosas and thats what made it best.. loved the Jalebi.. Kaju Katri felt like real kaju katri and not like powder glued together.. we went there twice in same day and loved everything we tried.. and so so so so clean.. Day2.. went there again.. didn't know they had dining.. fantastic flavors again.. some more pics..

Worst food ever, we came from Alberta and we tried dinner for the first time at maharaja. We ordered papari chat which was very soggy, then we ordered shahi paneer and kadai chicken which was the worst food I ever tasted in my whole life. I have been to all of the world and tasted a all authentic cuisines and this is th my worst experience of all my life. I was really hungry at the time and I couldn’t eat it because it was TASTELESS FOOD.

We had lunch today at Maharaja. Food was fantastic. We ordered chana bhatura, Tikki and pakora with gur chai. Food was excellent, restaurant was clean and tidy. Our server Preeti took really good care of us. She was knowledgeable and soft spoken. Ofcourse the best part at the end was warm crispy jalebi..overall very good experience.

Lady at sweets delivery counter was not wearing mask and taking on the cellphone during packing, while my open food pack was directly beneath her face. When spoke to her about this, she lied about it being packed in kitchen. It wasn't. After hesitation she offered to change one of the items. I paid for the food, but since i don't trust them now, left without food... and never coming back to these shops in payal business center.

I dont even want to give you one star. The service was so terrible, I went to the shop and placed a take out order (15 samosas) and the employee said it would take 10-15 minutes. I said I needed to get coffee for my office and would be back in 15 minutes. I came back 20 minutes later, and waited at the pickup spot for another 10 minutes before someone asked me what I was there for. Then proceeded the most frustrating situation, where I ended up having to wait at least another 25 minutes and still did not receive my food, meanwhile my coffee had turned to water. I do not understand the point of making an order if you are not going to have it ready in the designated time?!! I was very frustrated and left without getting samosas.

Because this sweet shop has become popular in the community, the owner/operator these days seems to have a don't care attitude towards most of the customers - even towards those who want to order in bulk (which I guess is very important for every business, right !?). While all the employees have very good attitude, its the owner/operator who has an attitude issue per my experience. And his this very attitude made me write this review with certain negativity. I ordered bulk of sweet items from this shop very recently for a family gathering, and while most of them were no doubt good and made ready/available on time, one item namely 'Moongi Halwa' (which was an expensive item as well from the whole bill) was not prepared well at all. There was actually no Moongi in it, and it tasted more like a 'sooji halwa' instead. I regret spending money on this one item, as I would have got a better taste on that if I would have purchased a frozen moongi halwa from other top brands like Brar or Nanak from a local grocery store. Because I wanted a fresh preparation of that dish, I choose to go for it from this sweet shop instead of frozen, but all in vain.. I got a crappy whole different thing. Such a waste of money for this one item, don't buy this one from here.

Mine was a take away order - dal makhani, Chana masala , non veg biryani , plain naans. mango lassi for kids and milk cake (sweets). My kids spit the mango lassi out as the yoghurt used was too sour. When I returned them telling that it's too sour to consume, they replaced it . To my surprise upon reaching home, my kids again said the mango lassi taste horrible. And they were true. They DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PREPARE A MANGO LASSI. Even the MILK CAKE WAS STALE. BIRYANI WAS HORRIBLE. I traveled from south surrey all the way to them thinking we could have good quality Indian food but they are horrible and way to expensive. They didn't even gave the sides like raita & onion salad with Biryani. I am never going to them again. It was such a waste of time and my money.

This is the best Indian restaurant at Payal business centre for dine in, take out and catering. Best quality ingredients are used in all their preparations. We visit them from Burnaby and they beat everyone. Limited options on their menu but they nail those. It is one of the most clean Indian restaurants in BC. I would give negative 1 rating if I could- purchased chick peas- chole bhutra plate. Order was stale and when we spoke to the owner they informed us that the food was from yesterday. Once brought up to the owner in person he argued and walked away. Very unprofessional and extremely rude. Especially with covid they should not serve stale food to customers. It is just common sense.

This place has amazing snacks to offer. Would like to rate the items we usually get from here. Samosas are supper yummy with crispy outer crust. Kachoris are a must try. Vegetable pakoras are good too. Chole bhature are yummy. In sweets boondi laddoos are super yum. All items are fresh. Highly recommend this place to all.

Professional, Understanding, Customer-Oriented, Food-Safety, Value Based Experience are some of the exceptional qualities represented by Maharaja Catering. Under the current COVID circumstances, a wedding in our family was cancelled. We had no choice but to do it at home, which is 120 KMs, 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Surrey. We made many phone calls to numerous Indian caterers, but were disappointed with the lack of commitment. Caterers would promise a followup, but did not do so, because of our location. Fortunately, Maharaja Catering was the only Indian catering company to shine through and help us. I highly recommend their services. Having worked in the food and marketing industry myself I was extremely satisfied with the food safety, quality, presentation, cleanliness, and professionalism offered by Maharaja. I have been to this place few times. I really like their hot jalebies, they are perfect size and very juicy ???? ???? Have to give this place a mixed review. The lunch buffet wasn't impressive at all other than the naan but their regular menu items are prepared a lot better. I'd give the buffet a 2 star rating. When I went for dinner previously, their butter chicken and fish pakoras were especially tasty and well prepared so 4 stars for dinner. Just don't go to their buffet expecting the food quality of their a la carte menu.

Got take out today and my order was accidently given to someone else. Waited another 20 mins so 40 minutes total time. Asked for 2 butter chicken 1 spicy and 1 mile but was given 2 mild butter chicken. It was creamy but bland. Ordered Jalebi which was piping hot. Got home and realized that the Jalebi was over done, initial Jalebi color is light yellow which was cool to see but underneath the Jalebi was burnt dark brown color. Never have I been sold burnt Jalebi, I buy 2 pounds a week from pak punjab. Samosa was alright nothing that great! I wouldn't recommend this place.

I have tried their food numerous times and service was amazing. They are very quick to greet you and help with whatever you need. Their Shola bathura are the best, you got to dine in try. The young lady Raman is very polite and curteous. More Indian restaurants need to provide service like them. Thank you!

Incredible. The butter chicken was the most flavourful I’ve ever had. It is so rich and creamy and thick. Delicious. The spinach paneer was also amazing. The paneer was so silky smooth and tender. The spinach was also perfectly cooked and very flavourful. I moved to the Northwest Territories recently, and came back to visit family. I will miss being able to eat at this restaurant. They have catering. Wonder if they will send food to Yellowknife! Highly highly recommend this place. I should also say that in the last year, they updated the restaurant and sweets shop. Very modern and welcoming.

This review is for the Maharaja sweet shop side of the business: They consistently produce fresh and delicious sweets! Their khoya di mithai is easily my favourite now, same goes for kaju di barfi. 5 stars every time. If you’re looking to switch up your gulab jamun game, they offer mini bite-sized versions that I’m officially in love with. They also offer nicer boxes for their mithai for special occasions. Recently tried their samosas for the first time and those are really good too! Highly recommend this place.

Great food and great customer service! Although it gets busy during the weekends (which is expected) they handle their customers' request very nicely. I like how we can call ahead of time to preorder the food and that way we do not have to wait for much longer. Best food! highly recommended !!

Owner: just close the restaurant, save yourself the embarrassment. Management doesn’t know what they’re doing — you can quickly tell from the look of the place, to experiencing their customer service, to the quality control on their food, presentation, and dish-ware. It’s a poorly-managed restaurant which should just stick to making sweets and that’s it.

Went for their lunch buffet a few times and had good meals. The interior is not bad.. just enough to take a client there. I believe Indian restaurants should charge more for their meals so that they can up their service and quality. The restaurant is a little too dark inside for my taste and the washrooms could be cleaner.

Worst experience. I ordered 10 pounds of Jalabi for friends and family. Because I heard good things about them , but they were the worst sweets I have ever tasted. I wantèd to put a negative review but had to put 1.. When I called they said thank you and that they will keep that in mind for next time.. how does that help me, all my family and friends threw it away, and how does that make me look.. Do not recommend this place. Got popular and know it's like they don't care. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Very bad. Over priced.

I am surprised that no tasting is allowed even if you are actually ordering stuff. The quantity of chana in the samosa chana plate was less and mentioning that while collecting the order was met with a I do not care attitude.
