I have only been to this place twice but it is such a nice location to go for even a quick lunch or snack. I have truly enjoyed the food. I have enjoyed the people. And Paul (our host) was so helpful that it made the experience even better. About the only complaint that I had was the parking was not the easiest during lunch but that is about it. Oh, and the desserts were really good, which is always a big plus for me.

Waited 50 minutes for food, almost 10 minutes for a menu, very small amount of food on entres, poor menu, overall very disappointed with service although polite, the entire meal, food, & wait time. Don't go here if you are in any kind of hurry to get out in one hour or you are hungry ("hungry" heart café)! A one star is too high. Only real good thing was that the food was hot when we did get it.

As a St. John's local this is one of my favourite spots to brunch/lunch. Their menu is always evolving, fresh and most importantly delicious. Every time I have gone I have left feeling satisfied and happy. They really do feed your heart.

Wonderful Cafe in the downtown St. John’s area that provides excellent meals and snacks made on site. This Cafe is part of the Stella Burry Corp a United Church entity that assists individuals in the St. John's area that are going through difficult times in their life. The Cafe a small part of the overall Stella Burry Corp. Which was setup to teach individuals life and job skills in the cooking and service industries so when you eat there you not only get great food and service at reasonable prices but you are making a difference in someone's life. Food choices are all made on site and focus on local food choices so it is both great for visitors to the city and long term residents. The restaurant is located in a historic building on Rawlins Cross that was the long time home of the W. J. Murphy supermarket on if the last family owned stores in the city.

I really enjoyed the Hungry Heart Cafe. It wS quiet and pleasant with a great over-all atmosphere. The food was great and I loved the coffee there. Over-all it is a great place go for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

We came here for lunch after landing in St Johns. After sitting on a plane, this simple to the point meal was perfect. I didn't leave feeling heavy or hungry. I loved it even more after finding out that they do this as a social enterprise to help vulnerable adults and help get them into the food service industry. The service was really good and the food and atmosphere is perfect. There is a small outside area to eat but we just sat inside by the window. It's a lovely cafe to have lunch. We didn't need reservations or have to wait in line and came in 30 minutes before they were expected to close. We never felt rushed or like we were being waited for. I would say the cost is acceptable and for the cause, I would say that it is well worth paying for. Would definitely return to have lunch.

Went in to get a table, there was few with no one at them and weren't reserved for another hour but the guy behind the cash was very impersonable and borderline rude saying they were unable to accommodate us! Will NOT return again and highly disrecommend horrible experience

Beyond the wonderful community service they do here as part of Stella's Circle, it is easily one of the best lunch places in town. There's always something new and delightful on the menu, the food is always a feast for the eyes and the stomach, and the room is a bright and comfortable place to relax and converse. A mainstay of the St. John's food scene.

The ambiance of the place is good with giant windows. It's very bright and clean. The fresh little flower vase was a nice touch. The food is alright. Although it's unique, it's a little bit pricey. I liked the Mimosas here. Tried the soft shell moose tacos and breakfast on the bun with potatoes and salad. The dessert was delicious. The covid protocols are being practiced and the tables spread apart.

Really fantastic cafe. Came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was delicious without feeling too heavy or over-seasoned, and there was a good mix of traditional fare as well as more contemporary/creative options. Ambience was cozy but not cramped and space was well-lit. Service was friendly and very quick.
