This was our 2nd year hosting our Pharmasave Christmas Party at Ferndale Banquet Hall - and we've already booked again for next year. The food is PHENOMENAL, and the service is OUTSTANDING! A big reason we love Ferndale Banquet Hall is all thanks to Amanda, the Catering & Events Manager. She goes above and beyond each time, ensuring the night is completely stress free. We had booked our wedding with Ferndale Banquet Hall for July 2021, due to covid and how long we were laid off for we were told by their wedding planner back in May that we would get a refund because we didn’t think we could afford to have the wedding. Now it’s September and we are being told that they won’t issue a refund, even though we were already told it would be issued. I’ve been trying to deal with them for nearly 3 weeks but they won’t return any of my calls and/or emails. Very unprofessional.

We had booked with them in March of 2019 for our wedding in May of 2020. Since COVID hit we had rescheduled to later on in the year, but again we couldnt do it because of the virus. We were told that we would get a full refund in September due to not being able to rebook. It is almsot 3 months later and they are now making up excuse after excuse to not give us our money back. The event coordinator that we were dealing with at the time was amazing, but they let her go. I WILL NOT recommend anyone to book here!

Wow! Here for an event and was really blown away. The service was exceptional- often with waiters who would basically predict as soon as you were finished with your plate and take it for you. The food was also a mouth watering surprise. Really yummy and they offered a variety to meet all dietary needs (even low GI) which i can tell you, most places don’t usually meet. Defiantly worth a visit!

Do not work with this Hall. They take your money and then ignore you as though you don't exist. These owners ought to be ashamed of them selves. Understood that Covid hit business like this hard, but it doesn't give the right to take advantage of hardworking innocent people. Ps- Carl & Donald, You can't take funds from people with no goods and/or services in return, that would be called THEFT!

Carl and his team are amazing!! They do anything you need, they have a genuine care for whatever it is you are doing and their service is the best that I have ever seen! The food is delicious! I have used them when hosting events at their hall (don't let the outside deceive you) and when ordering for catering! They are my go to for whenever I need a hall or to order food! After the death of my Mother in January 2015, I wanted to put together a Memorial Service with some really good food. I was recommended to Ferndale Banquet Hall. I spoke by telephone to Carl and requested some traditional dishes that my Mom used to make, Lasagna and cabbage rolls. I arranged it all by telephone for just one week in advance of my date to be held at a location other than the banquet hall so extra work for Carl. It seemed too easy that someone would attend, with tablecloths, dishes cutlery and an amazing spread of food that my Mom would have been proud of, with just one call. The price was more than reasonable and the service was excellent. I would recommend this caterer to everyone. Service Excellence at its best. They stole 500$ from me and my wife. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and my guess is that they're going to file bankruptcy and open under a different name. They go on and on about how a contract I was Supposed to sign ( and I was basically harassing them for a contract , especially when covid came) Me nor my wife signed anything , the 500 deposit we confirmed with their employee that we would be refunded because they couldn't give us a date this year ,, and we made sure of that before we re scheduled and did our own wedding. The 500$ was to save a date, and they couldn't accommodate our original date , and couldn't reschedule in the same year . They have had no cost of having our date saved, as covid 19 would not be able to have a wedding that day anyways so they lost nothing yet somehow justify stealing my 500$ . I asked to present the contract to me, there is none. They're ex employee has informed me other people are in the same boat, and has confirmed that I gave them 500$ and have not signed a contract and she was actually told not to give contracts for cash deposits .

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I booked Ferndale Banquet hall for our wedding which was scheduled on April 25th 2020 due to Covid it was cancelled (but we had paid in full well in advance) After several attempts to request our money back we have had nothing but radio silence. We have filed in small claims court and received a response that they had no record of us as clients as we had no contract, that is correct because we accepted a cash deal that was offered to us. This hall should be absolutely ashamed of themselves! I understand that Covid has caused significant damage to a number of businesses, but that doesn't mean that they should take advantage of innocent clients.

Although in an industrial setting, the hall is a delightful surprise from the moment you set foot in the front door. It is truly an affordable, hidden gem in Barrie for hall rentals. The food was fantastic and the staff very attentive and helpful. We recently held a seminar day for the local branch of the Association of Administrative Professionals and all enjoyed the facilities. As an office administrator, I'd recommend it for meetings, events...whatever!

If I could give this place a lower rating I would. STAY AWAY!!!!!! Amanda is awful!! I wish I knew this before giving my deposit on this place for my wedding. I thought they were a reputable business, but they lie, steal your money and then ignore you. They have been open and running their business since restrictions have been lifted, so there is no reason to steal people’s money Ferndale Banquet Hall. A reputable business honours their word. Don’t be fooled by some others good experiences, it’s just that no difficulties have popped up for them. As soon as you actually need something, Amanda avoids your phone calls and emails. During the wedding planning process she would take calls while I was in the office - sitting there and discussed other people’s business in front of me. If she does that to others you better believe she will do it to you. She answers phones unprofessionally if she answered them at all and is extremely rude. It also looks like she illegally accepts cash to give you a discount. Normally that’s because you are cheating the government. Hmmmm so she steals from the government, and also she STOLE FROM ME!, I was told by Amanda herself that I would receive a refund for my deposit due to covid as it was booked pre covid and could not give me any more information about pricing changes, just that my costs would “go up” If I had my wedding there because of COVID changes. I had some additional questions naturally but she refuses to answer them, refuses to give me the owners information and refuses to honour her word and give me my money back. She stole my money, kept it without providing any services. She now refuses to answer my phone calls and emails, and just like that STOLE MY MONEY!!!! This place will lie to you, rip you off, steal from you, and then ignore you. What kind of business treats their clients this way?? I was promised my deposit back and it was stolen. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS. They just got 500 for doing absolutely nothing. Disgusting!

My husband and I ordered the Valentine's Day dinner this past Sunday. It was all ready for pick up at designated time. The dinner included chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, caesar salad and cheese garlic bread. Also included was beer and roses and chocolate dipped strawberries. We recently held a Celebration of Life after our beloved Mother's funeral at the Ferndale Banquet Hall and we could not have been more pleased with the event. Donald, and all the staff we encountered, were professional, sensitive and unfailingly helpful. The attractive, spacious venue was extremely clean and thoughtfully set up for the occasion. The food was plentiful, varied, fresh, beautifully presented and delicious...we heard many ,many comments from our guests about how good the food was. We would highly recommend this venue for any celebration and we thank everyone at Ferndale Banquet Hall for taking a bit of the stress of the day off our shoulders..it meant a lot.

We recently attended a celebration of life for a family member. With all the Covid restrictions in place, it made the event even more uncertain and stressful. The staff at Ferndale Banquet Hall went above and beyond to ensure everyone's safety while respecting the situation at hand. I am sure that it is tough on the staff as well but they made everyone relaxed and focused on the important aspect of the evening. Great job!!
