My opinion is a little biased now because I am employed by Cicco’s. But what I will say is that I am proud of that statement. I was attracted to applying for a job here because I heard of the dedication of the owners. I knew it was a place I could learn and grow and in my 6 month employment that’s exactly what I’ve received. This is not a paid review, I’m simply speaking out of inspirational dedication to my workplace. If you haven’t been to Ciccos, please come check us out because we truly and whole heartedly value every person who walks through our door!!

Came in for my fiancé's birthday with another couple... Keep in mind we are staying locally for a weekend and called nearly 3 weeks ahead and spoke with the owner/manager to make special accommodations which were simply as follows: Tiffany's theme (light blueish accents) table cloths cake, flowers etc. And were told we would get a private booth away from everyone else. So this is where everything gets "funny" we arrive to the restaurant which was empty waited a few minutes to be "fetched" from the door and taken to a table with black and white table clothes (not blue) and blue flowers, unfortunately our table was located right beside the bathroom of a very empty restaurant. So here we are trying to make the most of it and ordered the scallops as per our servers very persuasive recommendation. As the scallops arrived and we began sharing them we all noticed the sauce was overly sweet and scallops were slightly cold in the middle we tried to move past that and pushed the remaining plate to the side of the table to be taken away (almost untouched) we then moved to mains which again we should have known better to avoid our servers recommendations.... We were told they ran out of steak because it was "sooo good" so instead we opted for the "Catch of the day" 3 guests took a shot at the baked trout and 1 guest (me) went for the Marlin steak... The trout was seriously over cooked and bland I mean so bland it had to be coated with salt pepper and chili flakes to give it some if any flavour, as for the Marlin steak. . I feel bad that fish was ever filleted to begin with as it arrived it almost looked like chicken that's how undercooked and bland it was going to be I swear I thought they served me sliced chicken...I took 1 taste and almost spit it back up it was literally still frozen around the edges and was very chewy.... When the server finally came back and saw my meal was untouched I explained to her why and she kept insisting it was fresh..... At this point fresh or frozen she should have known better than to even try justifying a peice of fish that looked so bland and undercooked it could have been mistaken for chicken. I then took an attempt at their lasagna as my Marlin replacement... Told it would take no more than 10 minutes... 20 minutes later as my party had finished eating I recieved my high in sodium lasagna.... I swear to anyone reading this you could literally feel the grains of salt with each bite (only took 2 bites) and was just fed up got the bill and went to McDonald's... Long story short don't believe the high ranked reviews people have left this place was a disappointment from beginning to end. P.s. For sake of being fair they did get the cake and flowers right however keep in mind those 2 items were purchased from outside...

Went to Cicco's after a co-worker recommended it. I was not disappointed as it certainly lived up to the hype from the people at work. Had the panzerotii with salad and it was not only generous in size but every bite was delicious. I will definitely be back. I live in east end Barrie which means it is a drive and the opposite direction to where I work. This might be a good thing for my waistline as if I lived any closer to Cicco's I would be there every weekend ! Great service and food is amazing. Truly a gem !!

Went in on a Friday night, only 3 tables being served, the rest were empty, waited about 10min. to be seated after the bartender and a server looked at us waiting, waited a bit more and then gave up as nobody seemed to care we were even there. Didn't even get to try the food.

Was there as a delivery driver. The lady told me 10 minutes. (7pm) Fine whatever. But 10 minutes later I go back in and she completely avoided me. I was finally able to say something to her from her endless wandering to stay away from me and she told me they were packing it up. (720). Wasn't my order she was packing up. I never received my order until 730. I didn't form of communication on the status of my order nor did she acknowledge me when I went back in. I had to apologize to my customer for them being so slow and lack of communication with the drivers.

A true two (2) star restaurant. Dissatisfied with the calamari, veal parmigiana and their ceasar salad mystery dressing. This business serves below average food and delivers very poor overall satisfaction. Go elsewhere for your Italian fare if you have any culinary standards and self respect for your taste buds and your family members. This business is the Ragu flag ship of Barrie's itailian food scene. Should have never tried a new place and stuck with Zio's Itailina Comfort Food on Anne Street. I'm sorry Zio, please forgive me.

This place was awful I drove 2 hours from Hamilton my wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat. We were not welcomed from the moment we walked in. The waitress was very snippy. The food is just mediocre and definitely not worth the price. Don't waste your money you can probably get a better Italian meal anywhere else

I came up north to celebrate my bro sisters inlaws 10 year anniversary. They live in the area so the reccomonded this little Italian restaurant We where there for a Sunday lunch 8 of us. Wasn't to busy We had and shared calamari they where pretty good. I decided to have a side ceaser salad and gnocchi a la carbonara which was very good. Tiramisu was good maybe hold off on the cream. Wasn't to expensive and everyone was happy. Pizza was ok wasn't wood fire.

Cicco's has some of the most delicious Italian food I've ever had... And this is coming from my entire Abruzzese family who are phenomenal cooks! I have to admit that it is more than just the food. Everyone there is wonderful - From Shannon's warm smile & her great service to Cicco's genuine love for food & his ability to know what works so well with the palate. We've had and completely recommend their pizza & 2 pound wing special - can't be beat for quality alone! Mussels, calamari and Frutti di Mare (seafood pasta) are amazing. My mother in law always orders these and rants and raves... It says alot coming from her because her fish dishes are always on point... And so are Cicco's. Their panzerotti's are like nothing you've ever seen - HUGE, stuffed and delicious. Gnocchi, Veal & Chicken Parmesan are my kids as well as my usual go-to's. I think my absolute favorite thing though has to be their tiramisu... it is delicious & traditional with a modern twist. My husband (who does not even eat his own birthday cake) loves it and I've had to order more because my kids eat mine after finishing theirs! My love for this restaurant as a whole began when we newly moved to the area from Toronto & needed a restaurant to host my daughter's First Communion dinner. They truly went above & beyond... Not only was the food delicious, but they actually jumped in without hesitation & completely set up for me once they found out I was running late to the church. They even had live music and made us feel completely comfortable & taken care of. Everyone absolutely loved it! So glad to have this restaurant close to home!

I wish I could give no stars. We were a last minute party coming in without a reservation, as such we expected to wait until seating was available or a simple "I'm sorry we're fully booked" would have sufficed. They were very accommodating and took our party of 7 with a big smile. We felt warmed and welcomed which then turned into one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had in all of my years. I have been in the service industry for many years and was in amazement as to how poorly the managerial staff handled the situation. We were seated and waiting when our server approached us and one of the people in our party requested water for the table and before anyone else was able to request any other drinks, she was gone. She came back realtively quickly with the water but seemed to be running off once someone would ask for their respective drink without acknowledging anyone else in our party. It took us several attempts to get our drinks, all in all nearly 15-20 minutes for a couple cocktails, a coffee, and pop. As we sat waiting for drinks we also had no menus. We were asked for the menus were told that the restaurant did not have enough menus because they were having then printed. Fair enough. As we were placing our orders my sister asked what risotto was, as never having it before. The waitress explained that it was a rice dish with vegetables and topped with salmon. My sister clearly explained that she is not able to have dairy. The waitress said not at all a not problem, the rissoto is perfectly compliant, tings seemed to be going well enough. The dinner came out in odd bunches and incorrectly. Both pizza orders were wrong, portions were scant, and the risotto was covered with cream. For a place where each plate is roughly 20-30 you would expect a certain level of quality. Maybe it was an off night but for what we payed, I've had better food at mucho burrito. We wondered if maybe the food came out wrong because there was an acoustic guitarist/singer playing so loudly you had to scream across the table for someone to hear you. This is where we think the staff was upset because my mother, who was visiting from the states requested the turn the volume down to an appropriate level for some sort of conversational English. Not like we were in the trenches of WWII, with bombs dropping around us. I digress. My sister explained again that she could not have dairy and that her dish was full of dairy, the waitress apologized and swifty replaced her meal. We were very thankful for her timeliness in rectifying the issue and thanked her. This was when things really took a turn as the manager came out and asked how our evening was. My mother began to explain that things were not going very well and had hardly begun to explain our grievance when she was quickly interrupted when the manager stated "I'm a person too". Perplexed my mother asked that she let her finish and explained why the service hadn't been very good. The manager repeatedly interrupted my mother to the point where my mom turned back to the table and dismissed the manager. The manager, offended, stomped, actually stomped, back to the kitchen. She came back out and explained that the waitress wasn't comfortable serving us from the beginning. Now, as a manager you never sell out your waitstaff, ever. A part of being the head of house is to apologize and thank the customers for coming in. Especially never telling the customer that your waitress was complaining about the table in the BOH. That is the epitome of poor management. The manager contained to argue about the situation and refused to act like professional-maybe she is the owner and if so, this is the SOS Titanic and your ship is going to sink. The circus ended with being asked to if we could "pay out bill and leave in a civil manner."I was astounded, not once did we raise our voice or behave rudely. I wouldn't go to this place if you plan on getting good food or good service.

First off I would like to say that the food was amazing. We had the gnocchi and the lasagna, and both were really tasty. My reason for giving two stars is that the waitress was friendly, but service was extremely slow, and she quite literally left the restaurant in the middle of her shift (???). I'm sure it's a nice restaurant, I just think there should have been another staff member working so she didn't have to be running around serving everyone by herself.

Went here for my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. Found it online and had never heard of it. Made a reservation and the lady was so sweet. Went for the dinner and it was beautiful and quaint. Very quick service that was absolutely fantastic, food was delicious, and did not break the bank which is great especially for two college students. My friend and I went there for lunch (and to avail the last day of Barrilicious). The ambiance provided much needed break from the bright sunlight outside, the seating was sleek and comfortable. Our host, Adam, was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The food came out timely and was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes. I had wild mushroom bruschetta pizza, eggplant parmesan and finished with the triple mocha cake. Everything was cooked to perfection and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed the lunchtime fare here!

Cicco's has been our "Go To" place for some time now! The food is amazing, the staff are fantastic, and the owners are very inviting and work very hard! My husband (Rob) and I love the atmosphere there so much that we frequent the place on a very regular basis, either for lunch or dinner, or just a refreshment! We have brought many people there who have also thoroughly enjoyed it and we have also recommended to many to go and experience themselves! No one has ever regretted going and everyone has always given great feedback (including one of my co-workers who has grown up on home-made Italian food and is very hard to impress!). We can't say enough about this place! And if we decide to have a cozy night in, we also order delivery from them to enjoy a night in with great food, a movie and our PJ's!!! Michelle and Rob

Went there for Barrilicious. The seever was very kind, and accommodating. My husband ordered a delicious steak, and I had a very nice chicken breast. The appetizers were OK...the crostini were dry, and the mushrooms were a little scarce. The panna cotta was small and garnished with a large portion of whipped cream, which for me is not a good choice since the dessert itself is made with cream. Found the affogato way too sweet due to a caramel coulis all over. Conclusion: good, but not outstanding. Not sure whether I would pay full price for this quality.

Went here for a birthday promotion to get a free entre. It wasn't that great. It was as if the food had been sitting under a heat lamp all day bit it was a 7:00 reservation. Then they tried to rip us off and charged me for the free entre. They fixed it but I thought it was kinda sneaky.

I would like to commend the staff at Cicco's for a wonderful event we had at their restaurant on Prince William Way on the 7th of August 2016. Everything was just perfect. All our guest were very happy and commented on the wonderful service from the staff. The food was great and the atmosphere was superb...we will definitely recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a good restaurant to dine at.

The muscles came out cold!! The chefa answer was to heat up tomatoe sauce from sobeys !! The wine was hot though!! Too hot as the bottles are under the lites at the bar. The steak was full of fat!! 150.00 was wasted. We al.ost ran out of there. Stay to finger foods only. And yes, the chef will remember us after he reads this. It was a shameful meal.

Sunday we ordered for takeout. Order chicken marsala the food was so tasteless. Chicken marsala should have mushroom on but there was one mushroom in the whole dish. The one piece of chicken was small and dry. Totally not worth $25.00. The bruschetta was just really soggy pieces of bread with tomatoes on it, we ended up just throwing it in the garbage because the bread was so soggy that it was not edible. Ravioli was 4 round pieces of ravioli. Overall, the meal was tasteless, portion sizes and the value of money spent was not worth it. If you are looking for authentic italian food this place is not it. Very disappointed!! I do have Italian relatives and worked in Italian restaurant in my younger days so I do know what good wholesome Italian food taste like. Still craving and looking for authentic Italian restaurant in Barrie.

Was offered a $25 voucher if I wanted to drive back to get it and that they would not refund(wasn't looking for one). Like I said to the manager.....F you guys.

Expensive for what you get. Staff was inattentive but friendly. All our food came at the same time as others who arrived about 15 minutes after us. Food didnt seem fresh.

By far the worst restaurant I have ever been to, extremely disappointed that this place considers them self an “Italian restaurant” I am convinced that there food is microwaved after being removed from a frozen box purchased at a no name grocery store, or maybe even a convenience store. One star is being generous as it deserves a negative five star rating! Save your time and money by not going to this restaurant unless you want horrible food.

First time visiting this restaurant. I ordered the special salmon with maple syrup drizzle along with risotto. The salmon did not have any maple and the risotto was very soggy. The group of about 20 people all had their meals and were pretty much finished, when mine arrived. The waitress did her best to keep everyone happy. I will not be returning!

Ordered take out from the restaurant. I liked the flavours but it was overloaded with oregano. That’s the only taste that was left behind. The pasta was perfectly cooked but not enough sauce, it needed more, especially for take out. I asked for a side order of meatball (to add to my spaghetti meatball order, which normally is 3 but at this place, it was 2) and I got 1 additional meatball. Since I didn’t get a detailed bill - tell you why shortly, I don’t even know how much I paid for 1 meatball. Went to pick up my order and without being given a receipt the waitress handed me a machine with an additional $13 automatically added to the total I was told on the phone. I too worked in the restaurant industry and managed a bar and this is not a good way to have your staff treat customers. Owner beware. I might try a dine in experience in the future but I would definitely double check my bill.

The wine recommendation was awesome! The food was hot and awesome! Very flavourful. Homemade. Delicious. Vanessa was an awesome waitress. This was our first time trying Ciccos. I highly recommend them and we will be back! Also, the seating was the most comfortable I have ever been in. Kudos to the chef!

Was surprised to find out it was Barrielicous was happening and for a great deal on some super yummy quality good. I had the Chicken Saltimbocca with linguine aglio e lio. Delicious and the presentation was phenomenal. However for no pictures because I ate it all. Our server Shannon was so polite and welcoming, I wanted to just keep eatting but everything good must come to an end. Will absolutely be back, Barrielicous or not.

worst experience in a restaurant I have ever had. With slow service, less than stellar food and getting very ill due to it. I would never recommend this restaurant for anyone. When a guest gets sick at your restaurant, the owner should try and find a solution and apologize to the guest. Definitely not attack their story, after they just came out from puking in the washroom.

We were there for Father's Day and my birthday and I have to say I was very disappointed. We typically love this place that is located within our subdivision, so I am not sure what happened? We had some bruschetta to start and not exactly sure what it was they served? It was more like burned melba toast with tomatoes and some slices of cheese on top? We also had some starter scallops and they were about the size of cherry tomatoes?? I had the lasagna and it was extremely salty. I couldn't even finish it, but took the remainder to go. I was a little embarrassed and didn't want to say anything since we had brought a guest along that had never been there before. I would have to say after that experience, I wouldn't likely recommend. New cook in the kitchen or what? But, no one is on top of things. May explain why at 6pm on what should have been a very busy day for them, there was only one other group there?

Quality of food was great, but I found the value poor. An $18 plate of pasta should be enough to fill you up. This is a predatory practice that has caught on in the restaunturing community and is on the rise. The idea is the charge less but serve smaller portions to encourage you to order a second dish. What this means is you will pay $18 × 2 for 2 dishes instead of $28 for one. It is a way to make you spend more than you would normally be willing to do so. The service was alright but they did seem under-staffed so things were a little slow, however the server was pleasant enough. I wouldn't return, only because of the portion size. If you don't mind paying more than the food is really worth, the quality was quite good.
