Every time we stop or drive by Banff we always go here for beaver tails. Omg so good. Worth the money. As a poutine fanatic I would also recommend the poutail. Service isn't the fastest but this ain't a McDonald's so they provide the tails in a reasonable time.

Beavertails will never fail cravings no matter if its winter or summer. There will always be room for beavertails. It is a what I believe a Quebec thing with deep fried dough and they add different toppings on them. So its personalized. They cook it fresh in front of you. They have now introduced gelato which I tried for the first time, and its actually not bad at all. And they have a new thing I think called beaverdog! It's a hot dog wrapped in the beavertails dough! I cannot wait to try!

Honestly, can't go wrong with fried dough and sugar. This place doesn't disappoint in that regards. Service was friendly but a bit on the slower end on my experience. I recommend getting the Killaloe (cinnamon sugar with a lemon wedge) as it's not overly sweet but absolutely delicious if you add in a spritz of lemon juice.

Always so good! Mom, Dad and kids love to come here for the gelato and of course the delicious Beaver Tails. For some reason they wouldn’t let us try any gelato flavors like most places do, thus I can’t give it 5 stars. Otherwise, great experience !

Never had a beaver tail and I am glad I don't live in Canada. These things are out if this world good, a massive sugar and calorie bomb but who is counting? We tried the brownie and cheesecake ones and both were terrific. I had ice cream on mine and it made it even better. Highly recommended trying this if you are in the area.

Delicious! Fresh, crispy, and sweet goodness. The whole wheat dough gives it a nice difference in flavour profile compared to something like your garden variety elephant ear. A little pricey at $7.25 (tax inclusive) for what I got, but probably worth the price for a novelty local sweet.

If you’re craving for something sweet witha nice crunch and softness in every bite, this is the place to go to. Ordered bananarama and the original one and they tasted so good especially freshly cooked! The Avalanche is a bit sweet for me.

First time trying these...so good! Sugar, sugar, and more sugar!!! My friend and I ordered the Hazelnut Amour and the Triple Trip. Both were delish! Fresh, crispy cinnamon sugar pastry topped with your choice of one of many creations. You can also add a scoop of ice cream or Gelato! They're a pretty rich treat, so sharing may be a good idea if you want a smaller taste.

I tried the ice cream cone from this place. The taste was OK, but too sweet than normal. It tastes like as if the ice cream is not made from natural ingredients. It’s rather made with artificial flavours and extra sugary syrups. How in the world a pistachio ice cream is white? It doesn’t even taste like one :( Was very disappointed to be honest. Also, no options when it comes to cone selections like other places in the area. You get stuck with only one type/flavour.

Must try in Banff. Lots of flavors to choose from. We tried avalanche and we liked it. One was enough though, cos it was too sweet. I tried pistachio gelato too and i loved it!!! Shouldve tried another flavors too. The boy in the cashier was really friendly!!!

Rip off. The staff only allows you to get one flavor ice cream with Size Small moozo cup. In Other locations you can have multiple flavors of ice cream in a small cup. This location is ripping of tourist. This is a franchise business which should have consistent rule.

A must have treat when in Banff!! Yes it is a pricey treat but compared to other similar treats like Elephant ears (also donuts not really elephant ears!!) Beavertails are SO GOOD. I've tried about every flavour on the board and my all time favourite was the limited edition nanaimo bar flavour (please bring it back!!). One beaver tail is good for 1 adult or 2 children. I say this because after having one of these I feel so stuffed and get the sugar sweet sickness feeling. Share these for sure!! During the off season in Banff the service is pretty fast compared to the summer where you'd expect a lineup. The lineup doesn't take too much time out of your day though. The inside is crammed so be sure to be courteous to others who are lined up to pay, lined up to pick up food, or are browsing. I suggest deciding outside before going in when i does get crammed! There were Beavertail merch when I was last there but they are pricey!! There was a car air freshener and a keychain! There is no seating inside the shop but there are two tables with 4-6 chairs outside to sit at but be aware that they are not frequently monitored or cleaned by the staff so watch where you sit and be sure to have a lot of napkins!

After much anticipation about getting our first Beaver Tail, we left somewhat disappointed. My friend and I split a banana Nutella Beaver Tail. While the banana and Nutella were good, the pastry itself seemed a bit overdone and too thin--instead of being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it was just crispy and nothing else. When we were there, most of the freezer was devoid of ice cream; they only had a few flavors which seemed odd. The staff was pleasant and friendly, though! Maybe it was just an off night, but I wouldn't run to return again.

I just don't know what to say here. I was so excited to finally get there (we got recommended this place big time) and I felt like a little kid when I saw how they prepared my beavertail and then I took the first bite and it was crazy chocolate, creamy, cheesecake, m&m's and all the unhealthy stuff you can imagine heaven. And after I ate half of it I started to feel sick. It's just too much to handle. My advice if you come here together: Share it!

You can never go wrong with BeaverTails. Always love to visit this place after dinner. Good location, they have another beavertails across the street as well. Food quality was good and staff is friendly as well. They dont have seating arrangements inside but they do have few tables and chairs outside if you want to sit and eat.

Quite sad in how the quality has changed over the years. The beaver tails used to be a bit longer...and used to have more dough. Now...its literally a cracker...rather than a fried dough. Deeply saddened in the quality and quantity..despite the increased price. I would highly suggest the starbucks (right beside)...which has been consistent over the years.

After a bad experience on the East store, i came here a day after (Feb 6) experience the store. We bought 3 pastries and 2 large ice creams. It was awesome. They don't have take out boxes but they offered to do a double wrap so we can carry it easier. They even offered to place another cup as a cover for the ice creams. Staffs here are very friendly and so considerate. I will be back in this location for sure!

Just didn't have a good experience here. Went at night. Wasn't in the mood for beaver tails but rather poutine. And the girl says their fryer is down. For fries. But not for beaver tails? Then ordered the ice cream cone. The picture shows soft serve. After I pay for it she says oh the soft serve is only available in the summer, and I have to choose their gelato style ice cream, which I never wanted. My wife also ordered the "smoothie", which was just a super sweet slushie. Should've just gone upto McDonald's.

Gelato was fairly good but not great. Some reviews are complaining it's pretty pricey for the small portions but it's gelato (dense Italian icecream) which tend to be pricey (as they contain more per volume). Haven't tried their Beaver tails yet but so far, cows icecream across the street wins hands down in taste and texture. The girl serving it wasn't too friendly either.

I was looking for an affordable snack in Dtwn Banff and this place hits the spot! It was a delicious hot pastry and I’ll definitely have this again when I come back to Canada! The Beavertail with Nutella and bananas was good, but the gelato was not. My son got me "mango & strawberry" while I waited outside with our unlocked bikes, but I had to ask what flavor it was as that wasn't obvious from trying it. It was mostly ice, and very acidic.
