I decided to order from Taste Buds this evening after I had been meaning to try this place for years. I ordered the Huderbadi Biryani with chicken and one beef and one veg samosa. Wow, I was blown away by the flavor. This place is unapologetically Indian. If you want to try real Indian food that doesn’t taste like it was revamped to suit white people, this place is amazing. This is the most authentic cuisine I’ve had in Edmonton and the flavors are so amazing. It’s like they just made the food exactly how they’d make it at home, no holding back on the spices and seasonings. I love this place and will definitely order again. Hidden gem! Order directly from them as they have in house delivery and then you’re not paying your money to a third party delivery company.

Had mutton biriyani and chicken 65. Presentation was absolutely fantastic, but when it comes to the taste of the dish disappointment. Chicken 65, to my knowledge this is a deep fried Chicken but the one the I got was not even close to it, it was not deep fried and had some tangy and spicy masala to it ????. Biriyani, there was literally no flavor to it and the meat was dry and hard to chew.

Went here last Tuesday drove across town and was not even open even when listed here and on there window they were open on Tuesday. No note on the dore or anything. Wont even bother to go back to try the food if they cant even be open when they say they are. Do not take the time to drive here they probably wont even be open.

TasteBuds is a hidden gem in Edmonton. I am quite fond of North Indian food, Biryani being my one of my favorite dishes. One recent afternoon, I was searching on Google for an Indian or Pakistani restaurant that may serve decent Biryani. I came across TasteBuds's website, I had heard of "Hyderabad", but I had never eaten food from Hyderabad. Despite my skepticism, I took a gamble and ordered a "dumm" Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. Much to my surprise, the Hyderabadi Biryani surpassed my expectations and I have been a regular patron of TasteBuds ever since. It wasn't a one-time fluke, rather the food from TaseBuds is consistently superb and surpasses that of any other restaurant in Edmonton that serves South Asian food. Beyond the excellent food, the hospitality and service surpasses any that I have ever encountered in Edmonton or for that matter anywhere in the province of Alberta. The warmth with which TasteBuds management treats its patrons is a delight and attending their take-out venue is a joy every single time. I have also tried the Haleem that is available on certain days of the week. Hyderabadi Haleem is also one of my favorite dishes. The menu is very extensive and I look forward to trying new items in the coming months. I look forward to the day when TasteBuds will adopt more environmentally sustainable methods of serving its patrons, i.e. by way of using recyclable containers. I chagrin every time I carry out styrofoam and/or plastic containers out of TasteBuds. Hopefully, with time this will change and TasteBuds will become the best take-out restaurant that not only looks after its patrons but also the environment.

Why is Tatsebuds Management being biased and discriminative ? They do extended hours for Ramzan and Easter and not for festivals like Diwali? This is truly being biased. Although it might be local business its not worth going so far. My request to the Tatsebuds Management is treat all the ethnic groups and communities in the same manner and respect all religions. On whim, got the chicken 65 biryani after a quick glance of reviews. I must say, it did not disappoint! The taste was absolutely amazing and the quantity was more than satisfying! Undoubtedly the best Hyderabadi food I’ve ever tried in Canada. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Was craving for haleem ever since I came to Canada and when I came to know that this place prepares haleem on special requests, I was very excited to try it. They have surpassed my expectations when it came to the authentic Hyderabadi taste. Looking at my excitement they even offered me a complementary chicken dum biryani to try as well. Alright here is my experience. The food was mediocre in taste. Whats been passedog as a $1.75 naan is ridiculous. Its the small naan you can buy in a pack from superstore. Haleem is not even close to anything that loos or tates like haleem. Hyderabari chiclen biryani was just normal in taste. Not out of this world. I didn't get the taste i was expecting. Just spices to cover up the already overpriced food.

Calamari... Soooo delicious! I don't know what spices he puts on it, but oh so good. Chicken fingers I had were made with fresh chicken, and the sauce complemented it so nicely. I phoned over and he told me pick up in 15 mins, which is pretty fast. The menu is quite affordable as well. Such a friendly guy every time I come by. We ordered takeout food at tastebuds and we informed that we needed the food to be packed properly since we were travelling, after we picked up the food we were surprised to see that there were 2 extra boxes of rice which the owner provided out of his generosity. The food was delicious as usual and was packed nicely as we requested. We were very pleased by the good gesture of the owner and this restaurant has always been our favourite. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for good delicious food.

The best place possible for authentic Hyderabad food. The staff are extremely friendly and their food is always outstanding. Never been disappointed with any item on their menu. I have eaten at this place for the last 2 years and never once have I run into any issues with both the staff and the food. The biryani, tungdi kebab, and chicken 65 are out of this world, and basically any other dish is absolutely phenomenal with taste never being compromised. The quantities are perfect and the restaurant has an abundance of both quality and quantity. If you need specific alterations and special requests in the dishes the staff are ready to help. Definitely worth it to visit this place.

Many people have already mentioned how good their biryani’s are and I can’t agree more but what impressed me more is , when ever we go there with our child they make sure to give this mango pudding which is To die for . It is just Soo yummy . I recently made a phone order and was not able to pick it up 2 hours past the agreed pick up time . The owner called me and said he just wanted to make sure everything was ok with us and not to worry about picking up the order if we are stuck in middle of something (I’m really impressed , he is not even worried about the time they took to cook food but wanted to make sure we were ok). There is an old saying goes, "To check a pot of cooked rice, a grain of one from it is enough", I can say from a couple of delicacies I had tasted here, that, this small place cooks and serves hot one of the best traditional Hyderabadi food here around in Edmonton. I would suggest one to try their Biryani's and Haleem. Cooked in a good authentic Hyderabadi style, the spices lingers on your taste buds longer than you think they could.

Authentic Hyderabad food here. I been there many times and today I also tried chicken kabab. It was tender and tasty. Biryani is their signature dish. The place is a take away so they have a two small tables and serve food in containers. Indian tea was great too. Don't miss it

We love this little neighbourhood gem. The owner is friendly and remembers his customers. The food is rich in flavour. One of my favourite butter chicken recipes - rich tomato base that doesn't leave you feeling like you drank a bottle of cream, just fresh and light. Fingers crossed that this restaurant is around for a long long time!

Excellent food. We were a little apprehensive going in as many places say that their food is authentic Hyderabadi but constantly disappoint. The biryani was excellent. Wonderful flavours as we are accustomed to. The mirch ka sallan served with the biryani was as authentic as it gets. Double ka mittha was sumptuous. Cant wait to try other delicacies. The owner is really pleasant and very chatty. All in all a wonderful experience and great food.

I wish they would expand their business and open a branch in Vancouver. Also if they open a proper dine in area to this branch would be great. Anyways i will be visiting this place on my each trip to Edmonton.

Ok, I don't like leaving a bad review to anyone, but I have to express my experience. The Chicken biryani tasted good. The Chicken was cooked well, but - Why was the chicken soo bloody? Had they forgotten to clean the meat...or did not bother at all? Mid-meal I decided to ignore the pigmentation, thinking it was perhaps just food coloring or red chilli powder...but as I went on nah... I know my chicken too well. Looked very unappetizing. I have no choice but to discard the rest

If you are from Hyderabad and miss the yummy food from back home, then this is the place. ♥️ I’ll be honest, Nothing can beat the real flavours from back home and this place is very very closely compared to the flavours of Hyderabad. After trying all types of Biryani in various restaurants since past few years in Canada, I can give this 9/10 ! I recently tasted Chilly chicken Biryani, Chicken 65 Biryani and Chicken Dum Biryani. deserts : mango custard and Double-ka-meeta, They all absolutely Great. I was there on this Monday, heard lots about their food but never had experience. So wanted to give a try for vegetarian food.Met a very nice lady chef from India, who helped me in suggesting food options, I got dahi puri appetizer and vegetable Biryani. No doubt , It was really a great choice for me to go there.Everyrhing was prepared fresh and great taste and first time in so many years had the actual dum biryani ..not a tava pulav... Definitely will visit soon..and great money for great food. HATS OFF TO THE CHEF AND THE TEAM...KEEP DOING THE GOOD WORK.

Today I went to the restaurant at 11:30, and the place wasnt opened so I waited outside in the cold for 15 minutes and decided to go to the convenience store for a coffee nearby and waited in there till past 12:20. The store clerk told me that the owner is usually an hour to 2 hours late for opening even though the owner lives nearby... So in the end, I decided to leave disappointed.

The food is always excellent. Best restaurant samosas in the city. They are as close to homemade as you can get and very affordable. Masi (the owner) is friendly and very sociable. He gets to know you when you visit and will most likely remember you the next time. Tastebuds is also very involved in the Riverbend community and is an excellent addition to the neighborhood.

Tastebuds is one of my all time favourite restaurants, and definitely my favourite Indian place. The onion fritters and the mango dessert are both wonderful, and the butter chicken is creamy and delicious. When I had the samosas with my friends from India, they said it was the only samosa that had ever tasted as good as the ones that their mother had made in India. Anyone who likes Indian food, and even people that don’t should try Tastebuds, you won’t regret it.

The primary reason I had to take of two stars is because of the cheapness shown in their food. They served HALF AN EGG in the biriyani. Sorry this is just not acceptable. No cutlery and napkins were provided either. Also the quantity left a lot to be desired for the price we paid. Usually when we order biriyani from other Indian restaurants, I can usually have 3-4 meals because of the micro appetite but here it was only 2 and this is only a take out. The taste was pretty good to be honest. That's why the 3 stars. The raita was good but the other chutney/accompaniment was quite confusing. Felt like having just the gravy of some other dish. I will give this another go at a later time but for now I am quite disappointed.

My favourite place for takeout in Edmonton. The food is great and the owner is very friendly! Very extensive menu with not only Hyderabadi food, but dishes from all over India. Still making my way through the menu, but worked definitely suggest the Chicken 65, chicken Biryani, and double ka meetha. A perfect mix of North and South, this is my preferred Indian restaurant in Edmonton overall.

I enjoyed the butter chicken with samosas. Somosas were heavy on the potatoes and veg so I missed some meat flavour, excellent pastry. The butter chicken was heavy on sauce... again low on meat. The flavour was there and that is what matters most. I should also point out that I was there quite late so they had to fire everything back up to cook for me.

I mean what can I say, the food was just so tasty and authentic anyone in Edmonton who is looking for tasty food this place is the best. I ordered Hyderabadi chicken biryani, samosa aloo chat and gobi manchurian and every dish was just out of the world and the price are very reasonable I would say better most restaurants in the city. Last but certainly not the least Masi Bhai you are a awesome person your customer service is one of the best and your food is awesome. I will definitely be back. Very highly recommend!!
