At the moment this business receives a score of 4.2 stars over 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is good, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the assessment is very credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Catering belongs to the category of Fresh food market.
Great selection and quality.
Jack of many... There are a huge variety of food options here, and they appear to be offered in an artisanal way, in a labyrinthine layout. The selection is outstanding, and the quality is pretty good. We ordered a pizza and chicken alfredo. The pizza was pretty good, clearly made with fresh ingredients. The alfredo was bland, had plenty of chicken, but the chicken seemed unseasoned, and maybe boiled (if not canned) certainly not grilled as one might expect. Service ranged from adequate to rude, with one person asking us if we needed anything without looking up, then immediately turning their back to us. Maybe just a bad day. I like the idea of Sunterra, and they offer a lot of options. Certainly better food than the food court across the hall. Just seems like they're advertising a more upscale mall dining experience, and not quite delivering on it. Awfully darn close though. Had we picked another dish, and been helped by another employee, this could have easily been a 5 star review. Your experience may very well be substantially better.
Samosa is my favourite appetizer from there.
I love how I can get a real meal that I can eat with metal flatware but at a fast food speed. I also love how many gluten free options they have. It is definitely my go to place when I haven't brought my lunch b
Amazing food!
Stood waiting for help for several minutes, no one else was waiting for assistance. Four different people made eye contact and walked away.
I love their fresh foods. Great for brunch n lunches
Always a good bet for lunches during the week or office catering. Fresh salads and other goodies.
Lovely spot for breakfast or to pick up lunch. Try their chai latte - delicious ????
The food is great , but i noticed a worker following my every move. After i spent 15$ on food the woman working came to the checkout and asked if I was paying for the water bottle which i had in my jacket pocket. A water bottle which was mine when i walked in warm, and opened. I told her i walked in with it and to not just accuse to ask if its mine or if ive forgotten to pay for it. AFTER THAT I HAVENT RECIEVED AN APOLOGY NOTHING. ITS 2$. Im offended and disrespected ! To make matters worse im wearing a security guard uniform !!!!
Great experience. Great location. Great food. I like the ambiance as it feels like an outdoor market. You can get full meals to takeout, salads and sandwiches, coffee and a great bakery and everything in between. I’ve come here many times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and service. You might think prices are somewhat high but the quality of food and portions overcomes that. I love the pizzas and my favourite item is in the bakery, the caramel Square. I definitely recommend this place and will come back again.
Good prices just too many new things ,so a lot of variety for younger people
Sunterra Market is a major go to lunch location in downtown Edmonton. It's a cross between fast food and full service meal. Primarily take out, it has a few tables which are great.for informal business meetings or meeting up with old friends. Food is different but highly tasty and extremely fresh every day. With two hot pot specials which are always delicious. Multiple thin crust pizza options and fantastic self serve salad options which. Include different protein options each day. And then there are many meat and fish choices and extensive desserts what can be better. Prices are reasonable. And there are excellent coffee choices to top it all off. Give it a try.
good food fresh produce little expensive
Great food!
Always a pleasure, the staff is so warm and friendly, the food is never a disappointment, I will continue to support this local business as long as I live in the Edmonton area! Also wonderful to see all the Canadian products they carry! A++++
Good sandwiches for business lunches. Easy to work with staff.
Pretty good overall. On multiple occasions though I've gotten spoiled cream in my morning coffee which is pretty gross and can't really be overlooked easily.
You guys need to open in more locations !! My absolute favourite lunch spot. Fresh, quality food.
Always busy at lunch, but that's cause it's good!
Came here for lunch for their salad bar. Very busy during lunch hours. The hot and cold dishes are a bit pricey but great little spot for lunch if you’re in downtown.
Great selection!!
Great selection of food choices.
Used to love the place but last few times have been disappointed. Salads seemed off
The staff were rude and I found a hidden object in the POS machine to which a rude make white employee tried to brush it off and keep our receipts for the 5 times it didn't go through. Tempted to report this company to the BBB and all other business bodies who deal with fraud such as the authorities.
Tasty food
Good if you are in a rush. A little expensive for what you get
Great choices friendly people
Food was fresh and delicious, the salad bar was excellent and so was the coffee!
Cramped and crowded area to walk through. Got the option from the "big pot". Food was still hot and there was a cashier right next to it that made getting my food and paying for it extra quick, which is always a great bonus.
Awesome food, I love the open Salad Bar, make your own any way you want, Pay by weight.
Great selection of quality fresh food
Food is a bit pricey but they have some good stuff there and a good variety. Their salad bar at lunch is really popular and has tons of great stuff to choose from.
Delicious but affordable pizza and meal options
Nice place with great staff.
When I worked downtown, this was my favourite lunch spot. Grab and go! This is not like the rest of the Sunterra locations. This one is mostly set up for grabbing a quick lunch and bringing it back to the office. Everything is made fresh. They have a pizza bar, a bakery, a salad bar, a coffee bar, a juice bar and a selection of entrees available. I love the boxed salads here. Chicken, mandarin, goat cheese, cranberries and candied walnuts is a fave! Usually super quick at lunch time and they always have lots to choose from. Friday night feasts are here as well. They always have a few available for drop in sales. (You usually need to order ahead) They have a bag that contains a complete meal for two including dessert. All you have to do is warm it up. The website has a few weeks listed so you know what is coming up.
Great hot and cold salad bar. Consistantly overly watery "big pan"
too expensive
I experienced terrible customer service! Also the food here is highly overpriced and the pre-made salads are disgusting! The desserts are definitely hit or miss.
Great for quick and healthy lunch.
This store has fresh food in amidst a lot of chain restaurant fast food style outlets. Nearly everything is made from scratch here, and it's all delicious. I especially love the fresh fruit juice and the creamy pasta salad. Ok and the pie lololol.
Fresh, healthy, wide variety
lots of good healthy food option. pretty much like a grocery store too
Great selection of food but get there early in the day or it'll be slim pickings.
Pretty fast and convenient...seems like a healthy choice
Great stuff here!
Lunchtime at Sunterra slaps (that's a good thing). The Big Pans give me life and the salad bar and bakery are also equally awesome. Olli Frescos is ???? compared to Sunterra.
Food is okay for a change from fast food but a little expensive
Healthy and reasonably priced food. A great alternative to chain restaurants.
The lunch specials are a must try, lots of different options that are provided during peak times
A great place in Downtown Edmonton to get lunch. They have lots of different hot and cold options. There is a pizza bar, hot food bar, salad bar and their big pan specials. Make sure you keep walking inside as there is more selection. The salad bar is great since you get to pick and choose what you want. Also if you order from the deli, let them know if you want it hot or cold. They will warm it up for you.
Good but pricey
Good and expensive.
Excellent Friday Night Feasts (heat-and-eat meals)
Loved the turtle cake!
Fresh salad!
Great Pizza
Fun place for cooking classes
Bit pricy for the quality. I didn't give them s second chance yet, but if I do I'll review my review.
Always happy when I go to Sunterra, go often for lunches. Their salad bar is nice to make your own with lots of choices. Their pre-made sandwiches (while perhaps slightly over priced) are generally good as well. And if you want hot dishes they make different types of pizza's daily and have random pasta's each day also.
Google store hours and Sunterra website hours are listed wrongly, closes at 3:30pm on Saturdays. I arrived at 4:23pm, spoke to a Sunterra worker through the gate (male, tall, short blonde hair with glasses) and he stated it always closed at 3:30 on Saturdays. Actual hours are not posted anywhere near the store entrances. Confirmed with another worker (Jonelle), she also stated that Sunterra has never been open at 5:30pm on Saturdays, ever since they started opening on the weekends. That the head office has the website even saying the wrong hours.
My go to breakfast stop before I head up for work! The cheese scones are to die for. Cake is amazing. Salads are fresh. Overall, good food and quick service. I love Sunterra!
Great selection that will please anyone.
I really like the place and most of the people there are nice too.
Great place to stop in for lunch. Fresh and self serve salad bar.
This place has amazing cakes!
My favorite healthy plqce to eat
I go here mostly for the salad bar and baked goods, and it's frustrating. Many salad bar veges (cucumbers, celery, etc.) are often cut into *huge* chunks that you'd need a knife for. Why? Probably to make your salad weigh more ($$$)? I've complained about this numerous times and nothing changes. Baked goods are hit or miss. Most are delicious. However, this afternoon, I bought a pumpkin tart that was severely undercooked. I could not get it out of the foil without turning it into mush. Their cookies are great, but also usually undercooked. For these prices I expect more.
Today, I had the worst beef stroganoff ever... I don't know what's happening to this place, but both taste and quality has been degrading. it used to be one of my favorites.
Much talked place of edmonton downtown for bakery, fresh coffee and lunch. Located in the commerce place, Fresh aroma of bread and baked goods attracts your attention to the well known Sunterra. I decided to give a try to their Cream Horn and my all time favourite Cannoli. I am so glad i tried it because now i have got my go to place for cannoli in edmonton. Both cream horn and cannoli were so fresh and tasty with minimal sugar. Till now, Sunterra serves right amount of sugar according to me after Jun’s bakery. I would love to go here again to try their lunch and salads. Sunterra has limited seating arrangement with 4-5 tables placed outside. Pricing is reasonable and genuine Overall it is a nice place to start with coffee and end with dessert❤️
Excellent variety of food.
Great place to grab lunch downtown!
A good place at Commerce place for coffee, lunch and dinner. A great location a d the pricing is quite fair. Salads bar and sandwiches station. Courteous and friendly staffs...
I really miss this place, I sure hope they will be re-opening at some point.
I always have liked the open market feel of the place, plus the coffee and food is tasty to me. I think the pastries are always well made and make for a nice breakfast treat or afternoon snack with a tea or coffee.
It had a lot of different varieties of food for everyone
Love this place the good is really good . But when I see how they make the sandwiches I was not impressed. They do not where gloves. They touch their hair and among other things. Not impress at all.
This very busy and popular place is highly overrated and overpriced but considering the rent they must be paying is understandable. Salad bar is good, big pan meals leave a lot to be desired, pizzas generally okay if you're hungry and not expecting too much. Premade sandwiches are a RIP off with thick slices of bread and hardly any filling like egg salad and tuna. Taste like they were made a week ago. By set standards, they are required to provide at least 4 oz of filling in sandwiches but must be including the thick bread.slices in the weight so if you want lots of bread, just go to the bakery and make your own sandwiches which will be better and cheaper. Week week ago
A great place to go for lunch, brunch or dinner. Food is fresh made in house with lots of options to choose from. Pricing is also very fair for the quality and portion size. I go at least once per week . Check it out you'll be pleased.
Very expensive sometimes quality does not equal price
Amazing.
Although this market had to close due to the recently enhanced Covid restrictions, they still committed to cooking a previously ordered Tortiere for pick up just before Christmas. I am from Quebec and can tell you that this French Canadian Tortiere (meat pie) was delicious and allowed us to celebrate our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you to the cooks and staff! who remain on site working in the background!
Great lunch spot to grab a quick healthy bite for cheap.
Love the food, Anna always makes me smile at the register
Great food, always fresh, but a bit pricey
I work in the area so I have had several occasions to go to this place. Every time I've been it's a disappointing experience - the food (sandwiches, deli salads, etc.) are bland at best. On more than one occasion we've actually had rotten food (meat or vegetables) - in a roast beef sandwich once purchased, the smell was horrible and unmistakable, even though the date said it was made that day. Either they're lying, or they just don't care. Put that all together in with the exorbitant prices, and this place is horrible. For the prices they charge, you'd hope the food at least would be fresh, if bland. I've also purchased under baked goods from them on more than one occasion. Just awful, awful food. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you get better and more consistent food from the McDonald's across the way then supposedly "fresh made" food from a deli/market.
Great option for some healthy salad, it has a buffet, make your own.
Mmmmm
Had chicken stew on spinach. Delicious and nutritious! (Aside from the small amount of Canola Oil used to cook it...which is still a million miles better than nasty Soybean oil)
Not as good as Careit or Olly Frescoes. Not bad tho.
Sunterra has healthy food choices. They also have tasty desserts
The Big Pan daily specials are a pretty good deal and are usually very tasty and a cut above normal lunch fare.
So fresh. The freshest salad this side river
Love the Friday feast! Lots of daily fresh lunch items. Bakery and pizza too!
