Amazing to deal with! I dealt with Jennifer Leer. The major item we were renting was the margarita machine. Despite her warning me and telling me how big it was and what was required to transport it, I thought we could do it ourselves. So, when we couldn't, they went WAY out of their way to help us. (even on grey cup weekend). She was so good to me and helpful every time I called and wanted to add on another item to rent. Amazing and would highly recommend this company!!

Great customer service! Went there late in the day last week and got held up in a traffic jam 5 blocks from the store. Phone and let them know I would be probable a couple of minutes late, but will be there since I really needed the supplies for tomorrow. The person on the phone said that they would wait.I got there at 6 minutes after 6 ( 6 is the closing time), place dark and not a person to be seen. I will not go back there again. Found a better place, more accommodating, better prices, located on the west side of the city, where I live, Ultimate Concession.
This post isn't really regarding the staff within the store but more about a specific reliever driver that I have encoutered this past Monday. I have never really heard of the company but to say my first impression of your company is being completely disgusted is being put lightly. One of your delivery drivers, and older man with glasses was driving down 109 street and Jasper Ave almost side swiped my car and not only was it his fault but he proceed to mouth me off and honk at me when the fault was his, maybe he should shoulder check or get new glasses or something. Forever that man will be what I think of when it comes to your company. I want to believe that the rest of your employees are not as cold and cranky as that man driving your deliver truck. I am not looking for anything in return but I just wanted to let you know about the behaviour of one your employees and how his behaviour created such a terrible first impression for your company.

Our school has used Special Event Rentals for our annual Welcome Barbecue for several years. The barbeque has always been delivered and picked up in a timely manner, and only once we had a problem with a burner (fortunately, it had several burners, so one out was okay). We will continue to use Special Event Rentals for our events.

The staff were very helpful, certainly with my last minute request of (2) 10 X 10 Pop-up shelters in less than 24 hours. Jonas Kreiner seems very knowledgeable on special policy and helped me get a discount for a donations collection point for Ft. McMurray Fire Evacuees. The price for (2) 10 X 10 Pop-up shelters was too high for a charity event. Even with the 25% discount, the price was $530.55 for a weekend. That is pretty much the purchase price for 1 such shelter

Their website is user friendly. The items for rent are clearly described and with images. The quotation is clear, formal and organized. Transacting with them was a great experience especially for me who has rented for the first time. They were punctual in the delivery and I was even able to know the time when they will deliver it. I inquire for a spandex cocktail table cloth and Alicia gave me quote. Schedule the pick up at 10 am today. I was there pass 10 hoping that they will prepare it for me so I can pick it up and not to wait for a long time. Arrive and met Alicia send me to the warehouse. Waited there for a few mins until they told me they don’t have stocks! Alicia’s reasoning was not valid telling me that in my system shows we have. I told her you think I would understand that? Frustrated and disappointed! Left the venue nothing. Hope you fix your system so you get complaint . And make sure your stocks is available before taking payment. Your taking advantage of your customer. Now I have to wait for few business days to get my refund. In the first place if you had check your stocks this won’t happen. Please update your system. Poor service!

I had to get a last minute rental for a couple of tables for a convention I was doing. I called and the girl on the phone made the quote and directions very easy. I picked up the tables that hour with no wait from the warehouse. I returned the tables after the weekend and the warehouse workers unpacked my Jeep and were VERY courteous and polite. I needed some items for an event 30 minutes before it started, and called Special Event Rentals in a panic, they were so calm and helpful that I knew I did not have to worry. When I arrived they had my order ready (in under 20 minutes) were super friendly, accommodating of my extreme urgency, and had everything I needed. They totally saved the day!
We used Special Event Rentals for our wedding in June 2017 and could not have been more pleased. We hired Elyse Colman as our month-of wedding coordinator and it was the best decision! She took all of the stress out of that crunch time. Making an order with them/her was very easy and she provided great suggestions. The company does price matching which was great as I found gold chiavari chairs offered through another company for cheaper. We opted for the delivery (obviously) and set-up and take-down which was the best decision! None of the guests or wedding party needed to be worrying about decorations or cleaning up - it was all taken care of. Thank you, Elyse!!
Two years ago, we rented our wedding equipment from them. They were very friendly and easy to deal with; however, on the day before the wedding (setup day), they forgot my table runners. Calling them, they promised to deliver them that day. This was very important, because the next day was Sunday, and they would be closed. They didn't bother delivering them, so my reception was quite colourless. It was a good thing that the reception was in a darker room, so not many people noticed. They refunded us the rental fee (no brainer), but I wish that I was offered more for the stress and inconvenience. If that wasn't enough, they also tried to charge us for a "missing" chafing dish and stand. My husband had to go in and complain. After reviewing their camera footage, they realized that we were telling the truth and dropped the charge two weeks later. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this company to my friends.

Rented a backdrop for our wedding and lights. Friendly staff, easy pickup and drop off. Items worked grest for the event and they are flexible on advance pickup and after event drop off times.
The showroom staff was amazing when we walked in. We were never rushed to make our selections and even though we made some changes/additions along the way and our event was on the smaller side, we always felt valued as customers!
We rented our gold chiavari chairs from Special Event Rentals and they really made our reception space look elegant. We were so disappointed about the service from another vendor but Special Event rentals were easily accessible, nice, and helpful. They handled everything including delivery, set up and take-down and they have a good relationship with the venue we chose. I wouldn't have gone with any other company!

In the store where you buy all the Mr & Mrs glasses and party items. Stevie has terrible customer service. Was not impressed to be inconveniencing her texting. Had to interrupt her to get any answers. Not impressed.

We rented a a 4 tiered cupcake holder and the service and everything was great. The only problem was the the holder was very wobbly when you touched it and we had to use coins to prop it up, and we mentioned it when it was returned but no response.

We rented charger plates for our wedding. They were white with gold trim. I received a phone call to inform me that some of the plates that were in our order would be slightly off white, more of an ivory than a true white. Celine wanted to make sure this was okay. I said yes and when we received the plates she was right, I could hardly tell the difference. However the fact that she called me to tell me about it and asked if it was okay showed that she and the team cared about my vision! I was so pleased to receive the call and it gave me confidence in their customer service. Thanks :)

While I had a pleasant experience with my consult, prior booking leading up to the event, quality of the rental equipment, and even the set up, some things outweigh and cloud this portion of my event. One issue upon delivery was initially with one employee I was told the standard delivery and set up time would be adequate. Later on I was informed I may want to spend more on the delivery, to ensure they arrive by 8am as my order was large and would likely take the day to set up. I also was informed I would be paying the delivery fee twice, as my order required two trailers. Delivery was prompt and on time, and Im glad I spent the extra money to ensure they were set up by 5pm, as it only took them until 11am...... Oh, and it all arrived in One truck/trailer as well. Plenty of room, to even include others orders on their travels. After my event, the truck was also prompt, after a wedding at 8:30am, with no prior phone call to arrival. I happened to be outside to catch them, luckily, as it may have been interesting to see what would have occurred if I had not been there to expect them. Maybe extra charges? It does state I need to expect their arrivals and calls, but that didn't occur... Anyways, the crew did not even have an IPAD or list of rental items to pick up, which was great considering I had a few items from different venues. Good thing I was there, in the yard, the full length of 2 hours it took to disassemble and pack up (don't worry, I have security cameras that observe the truck coming and going for time stamps). The crew wasn't sure what to do with the linens, that I had specifically mentioned came off their truck the Friday, so they left them. I received a closing contract email in my inbox 3 days later. 2.5 weeks after my event I receive a call about the linens, and that they need to go back. No issue. However, the multiple calls and emails regarding this situation was alarming, and it quickly became clear that these linens were due at an event occurring two days after this inquiry. The manager had even suggested that I should be aware of what items go back ,etc. Perhaps correct, and my apologies, however should it not be In the hands of the company to know what they are to pick up, account for the day of? or perhaps when they unload the inventory at the location? Maybe not 2.5 weeks after the event in a scramble. I never hesitated to return the linens, in fact due to the urgency of the situation, I made myself available that evening to ensure they could be picked up. That yet was not good enough again, as I still received calls "checking if they could come earlier than arranged" although I had specifically told the manager a time for pick up, when I would be home. While I thoroughly enjoyed the quality of the rental items, and my booking experience was fair- good, the horrible organization and client handling after the fact outweighs any good. Due to the errors on the company's part, I have been left feeling as if I was the irresponsible one. I truly hope the client expecting said linens for their event received them, as it would be a shame your event would be less than you expected due to poor organization on an expensive rental company's part.

It was my first time renting. So I found this company on google and I called on the same day of an event I organized to get somethings rented. And to my surprise they accommodated me and were able to meet all my needs that same day. I was especially happy with Daniel who went above and beyond to make sure I had all the equipment I need to make my event great. They even went all out to demonstrate and show me how to setup and connect the equipment when I went to pick it up. Am very happy with the service and would definitely reccom5to my friends and family. The only thing I wasnt quiet pleased with was the prices. But the service was great and they r there if your in need.

We loved the showroom and wide selection of items to set the mood of our wedding. My mom and I were in and out of there a few times during the months we spent planning. Staff were super friendly and helpful every time I needed to change a detail on our order or the odd time when I was undecided about which style to go with. We rented chairs for an out-of-town wedding and the sales staff were SUPER accommodating with our pick up & drop off timeframes. Very impressed with their customer service. The ‘Vinyard’ chairs are absolutely gorgeous and made the space look amazing!

They have a huge variety and can allow rentals on a very short notice. Prices are very reasonable compared to my own shopping around and it is so convenient to have everything all in one place!

Special events was fantastic throughput our wedding planning process. Kaitlyn was a gem to work with - she emailed us back within 1 business day for every change we had up to the date (and we changed put minds probably 4x with big changes) and would follow up with us even after she came back from vacation and someone took over her emails. Although one or two glasses vases put of 40 were broken on delivery, that was to be expected and we were prepared for that. Kaitlyn was also great in helping us decide decor. Overall, fantastic service and great selection! We also appreciates how the whole catalogue included prices and was online!
This review is specifically about Katherine who used to own Elegant Touches but now works for Special Event Rentals. I made an appointment with Katherine last year to meet up and discuss items required for our wedding. I had to leave work early and drove through downtown rush hour traffic and when I got to the location Downtown the doors were locked. I called Katherine and she had incorrectly booked me in her schedule so was not able to come meet me. She apologized and offered me a discount on the rental items so I re-booked and met up with her. Once the time came to pay I realized she only gave me the discount on the small cheap items which was disappointing. A few weeks before the wedding I e-mailed her to confirm details and she asked me to re-explain everything we had picked!!! I found that odd she didn't take notes or anything for my file. Once we got our pictures back we could see how WRINKLED the linens provided were especially for our backdrop. I feel like she was very disorganized and thankfully everything turned out ok for us, but if you have a choice I would not deal with her and try to get someone else.
I would check out other rental vendors before using Special Event Rentals. While the staff was generally pleasant to deal with, we had a number of things go wrong with our order for our wedding. First the sales rep we dealt who wrote us up a quote missed several things we asked for. Because the items on the quote are somewhat coded we didn't notice they were missing until the day before our wedding, leaving us to scramble to find another vendor to get what we needed. Secondly, we had been told we could return the rentals on Sunday. When we arrived to pick up our order the shipper looked at the sheet and said "Why are you returning it on Sunday? We're not open." Basically they told us to return it on Sunday, had it marked in their own system as return on Sunday, but didn't bother to tell us they're closed on Sunday until we picked up the order. Frustrating. Even worse, we had to extend our rental of a cargo van, so Special Event Rentals' poor attention to detail cost us money. When we complained the manager assured me that we would be compensated, but when we got the final bill, nothing was done for us at all, we paid in full. Too many things went wrong for me to be able to recommend them, as I said earlier, explore other options first.
Lynne and Jessica were the BEST! I could not find what I was looking for on line and when I called in they found it straight away, sent me directions and gave me very helpful suggestions! You guys are awesome and thank you!

Service is good. Picking up rentals and dropping them back off is quick and efficient. Rental pricing is fair, some better than others when compared to other rental companies so just do your research beforehand. But all of the staff are always very friendly to deal with. They have a lovely section of guestbooks, cake toppers, signs, and other decorations that make a nice touch to any wedding.
Upon completion of my online order, I received an estimate with the correct order. Soon after, a quote was created for me where Special Event Rentals changed both the quantity and the colour of the items I was ordering. While I managed to catch the quantity that would have otherwise cause major problems for the wedding, I failed to catch that the colour was changed. We are not the kind of people to send in a raging phone call or storm into the store and yell at the manager, so instead I left a Google+ review. Special Event Rentals actually called me about the review to verify what happened and correct their mistakes with a partial refund. I found it quite incredible that Special Events so closely cares about customer service to truly go through every review they are given and their customer service was greatly redeemed in my mind for this. Thank you.
Special Event Rentals to the rescue! We had tables arranged from a different source (not the other rental companies), but they didn't show up. I called SER in desperation an hour and a half before our event, and they literally saved the day. I was extremely impressed with their customer service and their capability to pull it off at the last minute. They arrived on site in less than an hour. Whew!
We recently had our trade show at the Doubletree in Edmonton, using Special Events. As usual, thanks for Jennifer and her crew, the set up and move in went extremely smoothly. Rented a stage system and I was very happy. The stage I rented was strong and it was also clean. I did not expect it to be that clean which is great. Also, the staff was nice. I will recommend this company again in the future.
Family used this place for the last time, We will find another place or go with out... 3 different times we used them, Never had good service Poor follow up, items came damaged dirty and no one cared when we called. Should be ashamed of them selfs.

I planned a 60th birthday party and rented various items from Special Event Rentals. It turned out beautifully!
I found S.E.R. very pleasant and helpful to deal with both over the phone and in person. No snarky, miserable employees here, which is refreshing. My order was a very small one ($20) and I wasn't treated as less important than someone with a larger order. The one and only glitch was that the table I ordered came in 3 pieces, and I was given the wrong table height - we had to stand at the dinner we ordered the table for. However, in this instance it wasn't a big deal, and I still had a fantastic time at the event, so no harm done. If staff had been rude or less helpful, perhaps I would have taken issue with it, but I am happy to let it slide. I also plan to browse their shop sometime soon....looks like some fabulous products in store!

Not impressed, so far. We rented a griddle and a coffee urn (and some accessories) for a pancake breakfast. The griddle was okay but the coffee urn did not work at all. This is our second year using SER and had used the same type of urn last year, so this was not a case of user error. The urn was plugged in for 3 hours and did not percolate. We made coffee using our own pot, 12 cups at a time, less than ideal. Overall not a huge issue as these things happen. Where the pain came is when I dropped off the equipment today and explained what had happened and to inquire about a refund for the urn rental. Instead of resolving it right there (a $32.00 item) I was told they have to test it and then if it doesn't work for them they will call and we'll have to come back again to get the urn refunded. I get that some people may unscrupulously try and get working equipment refunded but this is a $32 rental item and the assumption that I am trying to pull one over them is very frustrating as a return customer. Currently, I would not recommend. This is a poor example of customer service.

Carolyn Dean was my wedding planner along with her assistant Emma. They took the vision I had in my head for my wedding and made it exactly what I had pictured. The decor was perfect and they were just all around wonderful. I would recommend this company to anyone who asks.

Easy to work with and got a wonderful silver sequin backdrop from them for our wedding! They are easy to organize with and prompt with replies to questions. We picked it up the Friday and returned it the Monday. We did end up getting rentals during a sale time in the winter, as rentals can be pricey. 5/5 stars

Little dissapointed in the lack of service. We went in, and had one girl at the reception desk playing on her phone who kindof pointed in the direction that we would have to go, and so we looked for our own table clothes and stuff, but with nobody to help us, we left. I guess we will take our business elsewhere.

I had arranged two milestone birthdays this summer, using special event rentals for both. Their products and service are absolutely amazing! Never have to worry about the quality of the items as everything is in great condition and very clean. Great place to rent ceremonial scissors...was not able to find them anywhere in the city to purchase. Have used the Edmonton location twice now for this and can always count on them to have them. The rental process is always quick, simple and efficient.

I've rented glassware for large-ish parties a couple times from here. Great selection, easy pickup and drop off, helpful staff. Prices are very reasonable. I paid 75 cents each for the type I rented. Glass is so much nicer than plastic and with renting you don't wash them. Just put them back in plastic flats and return.
I used Special Events Rentals for my wedding reception and ordered everything from tables and chairs to cutlery and napkins. I was even able to rent chair tie backs And backyard games from them! Every interaction I had with Special Events Rentals was extremely positive. The items I rented were in very good repair and my reception was beautiful as a result. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They were careful with the items and very respectful of the house we had the reception at. I would use them again without a doubt and would highly recommend them to anyone. Ten out of ten!
I have used Special Event Rentals for a number of company events and overall I have had a great experience. The booking agents are polite and professional, and the deliveries/pick ups are done in a timely manner. There has only been one instance that our delivery was not correct however SER was quick to rectify the situation. Keep up the good work!
One of the best plce for linen rentals in edmnton. their DIY section is super helpful to just experient and find the arrangement for you. also the staff was super helpful with their suggestions. the staff who assisted me, can't remember her name, also gave me tips that I used in our event. Rent linens with thoese people. They have tablecloths, napkins, and those long fabric cloths. Will go back again on our next event!

Upon arrival a different person assisted me and they were equally as helpful and friendly. The transaction for payment and bringing the items to the front of the store was very fast and and efficient and I appreciated that the warehouse person brought the items out in a bucket and put it in our car. That made it so much easier for us to transport and bring it back in one container. Everyone that assisted me was extremely helpful and friendly. It was explained when to have the items returned by and that I would receive paperwork via email advising when all was returned. I am very grateful to Special Event Rentals and their awesome customer service! I first got in touch with Special Event Rentals as I was assisting with a volunteer-run event and was curious if they provided discounts for charitable causes. I ended up hearing back from a customer service representative, Krystal Asham. She was extremely courteous and prompt with her responses and was even able to get us a bit of a discount on some items! I was frequently emailing her to verify prices and ask about different items. She was always quick, informative, and polite with her responses. I also had to adjust my order a couple times due to budget restraints and alterations in plans for the event. Again she was always very accommodating and quick to send me a new quote. We decided to use the option to pick up and drop off our own items to save on delivery. They allow you to pick up the day before and drop off the day after. This was great because the day of our event was very busy and it would have been tough to schedule pick-up/drop off. My family picked up the items for me and said the warehouse staff were very helpful with loading and professional. We even made a last-minute addition to our order and the staff were easily able to accommodate this. Even though the order was fairly small (6 tables, 4 pop-up tents and a megaphone), and we were provided a discount, Special Event Rentals staff still made it seem like our event was a top priority! I am extremely appreciative to Krystal and Special Event Rentals as a whole for their excellent customer service and would definitely recommend them.
