Love this place. Go with a big group and a big appetite. I've never been there with less than four people and don't honestly know what I'd order if I did. They have good food but it's been a few times that I leave extremely disappointed because they close before the stated business hours. Why do you advertise you close at a certain time if you don't!? You make people travel just to get sent out the door.

If I had a mountain to shout from, I would be telling people to try smokehouse. Yes, it is on the more pricy side, but the quality is far superior to similar options. I first tried them as a food truck and was impressed, they now offer through skip the dishes which makes them very accessible for a lunch option. They do meats right and I suggest you try them all! Highly recommend

Someone told us this place was good, yikes. Wednesday night, not busy. Took the hostess awhile to seat us. Our server was a sweetheart, the food came out fast. The only thing warm on the plate was the baked beans which were ok, with chunks of beef in it. The corn-bread was alright. The yam smash was so-so. My friend and I shared the 3meat plate, which was huge, we didn't finish it. The brisket was boring, could barely taste any 'smokiness' in it. Anyone can make better pulled pork at home, since there's no smoky flavor in that either. The ribs were the only thing that was good, very moist. The server gave us 5 different sauces to put on our cold bland-tasting meat, none of them were 'great', but better than nothing. I've had a lot of amazing smoked bbq in Texas recently, so this place was a waste of time and money. I will never return and I will not be recommending unless you like bland-tasting meat, and lots of it.

The BBQ is great but the sandwiches constructed are a tad dry. Slow smoked shouldn't suck all the moisture out of the meat. Service however was really good. Didn't have to wait long & our sever was always on the ball with drinks etc.

Roadhouse bbq is in a weird location near a residential area but it defs have this decent hole in a wall atmosphere at first glance you can't tell it apart from the tattoo parlor next door. We came with a big party (8 people) they managed well and had this picnic table which adds to the family dinner bbq experience. The music was loud and hard to talk over. The food itself is good not the best bbq in Edmonton not great tbh but it has some fireworks in their cauliflower appetizer cornbread and fried chicken. The ribs were a little cold and the brisket was a little rough around the edges. What makes up for the place is the service. The waitress handled the large party, handled refills fast and made sure are orders were exactly right. No mess ups it was some of the best service in any bbq spot. I would give it 3/5 if it wasn't for their awesome service.

We also ordered the cauliflower (delicious) and brussel sprouts in cow boy butter, french fries and beans. It was all so good. They have a dedicated fryer for gluten free. Damn! We ordered skipthedishes and not only was the food was here within 30 mins, it was delicious. I ordered the ribs, it came with 2 sides, the BBQ sauce was perfectly sweet and tangy. The jalapeno cheddar corn bread was moist and amazing. I have nothing unpleasant to say! We will definitely be coming in to the restaurant in the future!

I've only eaten in the small restaurant in the front of the building, but Smokehouse is more well known for it's food trucks which are a mainstay at any major Edmonton festival or event. The food is incredible, well priced, as accessible to people who aren't every day BBQ fanatics.

A couple of friends and I went here based on a recommendation from a co-worker and it was the best thing we did! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Our server, Jessica, was a complete delight to deal with. The food quality was amazing. It is a small place to sit and eat, I think it can probably only sit about 10/12 people but totally worth it! In the hour that we were there, I believe we saw 4 skip the dishes drivers come in and get food and this was on a Tuesday night. A must visit place and make sure to order the Smokehouse Bacon Bomb appetizer. We will be be going back for sure!

Ordered lunch for a few of us at the shop today. First time trying this place and I wish I could say it was great but we were all very disappointed. The brisket and pulled pork were very dry and different from any other bbq joint I’ve tried in the city. Very stingy on bbq sauce too which we thought was weird. Fries were not great either. We read reviews and had high hopes.....unfortunately we probably won’t be returning.

Didn't' make a reservation, but the staff was quick to accommodate our group of 8 for a midweek get together. Order the Gumbo was perfectly spicy served with some of the best cornbread I've had (super moist.. not dry) If you go order the Hush Puppies with Whiskey Maple syrup.. a little bit of heat to them but with the syrup makes for a nice blend of sweet & spice.

I've gone a few times now and they have fantastic BBQ here, one of only two places I have found in Edmonton that serves similar quality to what you find in the US. I really liked the sauce selection, it's hard to find decent vinegar and mustard based sauces north of the border. Their Raspberry Chipotle sauce is amazing as well! Their brisket is some of the best I've had, the pulled pork is definitely praise worthy, and they do an excellent job smoking their ribs. They also have incredible southern style mac & cheese, except for one time when it wasn't baked long enough, but I still recommend you give it a try!

Applewood smoked, low and slow BBQ... The food is good. I really enjoy the burnt end sandwich that you get off of the food truck during the summer season. The same item in the restaurant however, was not as good. Very dry. Brisket is the hardest thing to make well when it comes to BBQ. Don't do the brisket here. Anything but the brisket. The atmosphere is motorcycles and knick knacks with live entertainment on special nights. They have a daily special that I have never been disappointed with. I have had some wonderful smoked ham and the chicken and waffles is delightful! I am a fan of the sweet potato mash as a chosen side. The sweet tea is a great companion to any meal and they have a great selection of beer and other libations to wet your whistle. Smokehouse has been delightful about accommodating our large groups for meetings. The servers have been great and on busy nights, the owner is there to check on you personally.

I don’t really get the overwhelming positive reviews. We ordered using Skip the Dishes, meal for two, choose your meat and sides. The brisket was probably the only thing that kept me from asking a refund. Pork ribs are incredibly dry and they give you a bunch of sauce to drown out the taste of the meat. Mash potato tastes like it was frozen then reheated. The mac n cheese was fine, it’s mac n cheese. Listen, I usually don’t review food even if it’s bad because I feel like a 1st world a**hole but for $50+ I really expected more. I’m not upset, just disappointed.

For a place that calls itself smokehouse it sure didn't have a lot of smoke flavor in my meal. I had the burnt ends brisket sandwich, I don't think I actually got what I ordered even though my server insisted that I did. I guess my idea of burnt ends is different from theirs and from other bbq restaurants I've been to. I expected a lot more smoke flavor from something I was told was "smoked twice" The smoked brisket sandwich at Arby's has a much better smoky flavor

Went here for dinner last night. Food was less than great, all meats very dry and bland. I am pretty sure that the food was a bit off as well due to being sick all night and most of the following day. I called and spoke to a manager about this and was promptly told that I must have got sick from someplace else I had eaten as there was no problems with their food. Will not ever step foot in this place again.

Came here sometime in the summer with the girlfriend cause a friend of mine recommended to us, ya that was a bit of a mistake. Staff was fine and the look of the place was kind of cool but the food wasn't all that great, I'm pretty sure I had the pulled pork which was fine but not mind blowing and the fries weren't my style but I bet a lot of people will like them but the thing that will make us not come back was the burger my girlfriend ordered.........it had to be a store bought frozen burger no question about it cause it had the same weird shape as one and it tasted like one. What a joke to call yourself a BBQ house and have a frozen burger. Who knows maybe the other food is good but I'm not taking that chance.

Excellent sides! The bbq offerings are nicely done, but standard fare. Where Smokehouse shines is its sides. Chicken Fried ribs, excellent housemade chips, glorious mac n' cheese. The sides alone are worth a visit and the brisket ain't bad either.

I was excited to check this place out. My hopes and dreams were destroyed as soon as I drove 20 mins from my hotel to this place. We walked in to a dim lit restaurant with a southern flair to it. We were seated promptly at a square table with your standard wood finished chairs. Ordered our drinks then when our server brought them out she told us that the special tonight (Friday) is beef ribs (no mention of pricing). I reluctantly said i prefer pork ribs and to which she replied, “Oh sorry, we just sold out!” I says pardon you’re a smokehouse with no pork ribs ????. I was ready to get up and leave and my wife suggested that we stay. We ordered our food and waited more than 30 mins for it to come to our table. Long story short: 2 Mac n cheese w/ brisket $16.95 Wings 13.95 Brisket on a bun w/garlic parm fries Total order 80 bucks. After tip almost $100 We packed up the wings. You see this place has nothing on Big Ts (where we frequent in Calgary) Their service is slow, uncomfortable atmosphere, and food is bland to say the least. Gordon Ramsay should stop by ???? Do not waste your time or money here people. We should have caught on as soon as they said that they are sold out of pork ribs but happy to sell you a beef rib on special for $28 Next time I will leave my Flames hat at home who’s in Edmonton

My list of complaints about this place: * Southern fried chicken is so good I must always order it, causing me to order an additional meat just to be able to try anything else. * Menu causes anxiety because stomach space cannot handle what brain desires to order. * Am now a regular so I cannot fake-complain to server and receive free food because they know me and will know I'm lying. * Meat tastes so good that I forget to use the awesome house-made sauces. Then next time I visit I have to drink sauce by itself to make up for it. By far the best BBQ joint in town. 10/10 would recommend.

The BEST Beef Brisket in Edmonton! I special ordered 13lbs from their catering menu and let me tell you, it was the talk of the town! Juicy morsels of perfectly cooked brisket. Reasonable price and very friendly to deal with. I highly recommend ordering the Beef Brisket and Buns for your next party! Thank you so much! They were good and were different not just slight variants of one another. I did find that the meat was a little on the dry side. The corn bread with the butter was super good highly recommend. The sides were good and I especially like how they use a bechamel base for their Mac and cheese. Service: very warm service and friendly hospitality. We were fairly well taken care of. Atmosphere: hidden gem in the middle of a random neighborhood. Interior is not what you would expect looking from the outside. Place has a nice welcoming yet relaxed feel to it. I thought walking into a smokehouse, I'd smell evidence of some smokin goin on. I didn't. I ordered to go. I got ribs tips with salt & pepper, and baby back ribs dry. Mac & cheese and pit beans were my sides. The rib tips were OK. I've never had tips with a bone in it. It was a flat little bone, but in all of them. It took a minute to figure out how to eat them. Don't worry. I figured it out. The ribs were not very good frankly. There was no smoke, or BBQ flavor profiles I could sense. They were just bland. Seemed like they may very well have been roasted, not smoked. I don't really know. I just know they weren't very tasty or tender. If they were really smoked, the idea has to be revisited. Mac & cheese was delish. And, the Pit beans were OK. They tasted like beans & BBQ sauce. The brightest deal in this whole place were the people. Very kind & helpful to be sure. Also the beer! I had a grapefruit ale by Alley Cat Brewing Company that was delicious! I wanted a six-pack to go! Ya can't do that when it's on tap. Dammit! I'll look for it in The States. Fret not. All in all, the place had a fun atmosphere, but I think the smoking process needs revised, improved and mastered. Please, invest in a visit to your southern neighbours in the summer to places like Kansas City, Memphis, St. Louis or Nashville. Entire states have areas all over them like Georgia, The Carolinas, Texas, Kentucky and Florida that have the best BBQ in the World. Watch how those pit masters do it. Then you'll really dazzle the Canadian BBQ lovers like no other in Canada. Your place has mass potential for mastery. Rock it!

Myself and 2 coworkers went to the new restaurant for lunch. We got there at 12 and at 12:55 left with our meal in take out containers. We had ordered one appetizer and that came quickly but the food took forever. At least 3 people came in after we ordered, they sat, ordered, ate and left before getting our food. The waitress (unsure of her name) was quite rude, saying that in any restaurant you order an appetizer you get your food after. We knew that, but for a quick lunch place, 50-55 minutes is a long time to wait to food. The food was delicious, next time we'll order take out so that we don't have to be rushed.

Went on a Saturday night, and it was full except for the one table we took. We ordered the Smokehouse Bacon Bombs, and then i had the Works Sandwich (my parrner had the Brisket Sandwich). Not only was the food fantastic and extremely quick, but the service was absolutely incredible. I didn't catch the gentleman's name, but he is an amazing server and was extremely attentive, charismatic, but yet not pushy or overbearing. It was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The selection of meats are great. Fried Chicken is amazing, didn’t get a chance to order beef ribs as they were sold out, the only disappointment though is the briskets are dry, not moist & juicy. But I really liked the pulled pork. Ambiance has a very casual feel & a bit dark. Will still come back to this restaurant.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. We tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday and we ordered Big Daddy Combos. A few hours after the meal, both my boyfriend and I got food poisoning. I had diarrhea and my boyfriend had a fever and sever fatigue overnight. He is still laying in bed suffering from the food poisoning. He had to cancel all the flight and hotel bookings given he couldn't make to his remote work which he needs to travel on Monday morning. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The food is not clean!

This is a great BBQ place tucked into a corner of a small strip mall. Classic BBQ options plus burgers, sandwiches and desserts too. They have daily specials on the board but it's all good. I recommend the combo plates: ur choice of upto 3x meats w/ 2x sides of ur pick. U also gotta try the pie very tasty, comes in a jar which is very unique. I'll be going back again for sure. With a friendly staff, blues music over the speakers and a couple of TVs it's ok to go by ur self, but with ample seating good for groups too. There is a small stage in the corner where live music happens sometimes. Check them out for an awesome BBQ meal.

The food is fantastic and the staff treat me like family. Gluten free options make this one of my wife's top spot to visit. We bring all of our friends in and book it for special occasions too. On our last visit, I asked about smoked turkey, because they offered it at Christmas and it was terrific. They had no plans to prepare any for Thanksgiving but and they instantly offered to do it for me. I'm picking it up tonight and looking forward to it. Last time it was so well prepared, and well packaged, we only had to warm it up and serve it. It even came with home made cranberry BBQ sauce. Terry and crew are the best. We highly recommend this place!

This was my second time trying out this so called "Real" BBQ, this was disappointing especially since friends were involved and we all came to the conclusion it was not worth the cost nor was it worth anything special. We ordered the Smokehouse meal for 4 and the meats were dry and tasteless, the corn bread was also dry and disappointing. Edmonton still has to wait for a "Real" BBQ place!

Bait n Switch, False Advertising, two terms properly exhibited on my first and only visit to this establishment. Clearly advertised on their website after 8pm their selections are half price on beef and pork. We thought what a better opportunity to try a new establishment since they sent out a flyer and got our attention. All the fixings were prepared at home, we just needed the main course. Well according to the staff when I showed up on Saturday, they only do that during winter months. ITS END OF JUNE, why are you advertising this, then turning away customers on something YOU as a business clearly screwed up on. The waitress had such a bad attitude. We were a group of 13, she basically told us that she was going to charge an automatic gratuity and we could leave if we didn't like that idea. Very bold! I've ordered twice and it's been really yummy both times. I ordered the combo plate with fries and cornbread both times. I've tried all the meats and they are all good! It's enough that if you were to share it with someone, you'd both get a decent amount of food. The proportions can be a bit off. For example, I got a mountain of pulled pork, four pieces of brisket, but one chicken leg. The cornbread and the honey butter it comes it are also delicious and a good price The bread has a nice crunch while still being flaky and soft. I highly recommend ordering from here if you are looking for a more affordable but delicious barbecue option in the city!

Ordered the beef brisket that was good, a bit dry as it could have used more then the small amount of sauce. But the big disappointment was the hamburger for $10. It was a dry bun with no mustard, ketchup, pickles, lettuce or tomato. Just a dry bun and a hamburger patty. Staff never asked if we wanted mustard or ketchup and there was nothing on the outside of the truck. Patty tasted good but for $10, we thought there would be some condiments on it. Fries were the small shoe string fries, gravy is very mild, not a brown gravy. Would order the beef brisket again but ask for a bit more sauce. Hamburger and fries, likely not.

I was expecting alot more food for the price and reviews I had read. I spent 50$ on a delivery for myself to finally try this place and pig out. I was still hungry afterwards, and all the food seemed very small portion for what I had paid. Soggy fries, tasteless bone dry brisket, southern fried chicken with barely any chicken, ribs that were all fat. Everything tasted bland, what a huge let down.

Have to say this place has come along way! About a year ago I was not super impressed. Food was alright but the meat tended to be a bit dry. They have a new manager there now and have been back a number of times in the last 4 months and each time the food has been impeccable! And the service far above what I would call industry's standards. They are moving to a new location in a few months. But I guarantee I will drive a bit further to eate here anytime! A must to try and if you were a bit disappointed in the past like me. Then I must say, they are worth giving a second chance! You wont regrete it!

Ordered from Skip the dishes last night and was quite excited to have ribs from this place. Ordered the Beef rib not realizing it was literally that...ONE beef rib for $28! So with tax and tip, I had a single rib with an ice cream scoop worth of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Total rip off and I was still starving after I finished my rib which was fatty and not even very good. For what I paid I even ate the gross fat. Glad I had a box of macaroni in the cupboard. I used to love this place, they've gone down hill over time. My gf and I were in on a Saturday afternoon and it was nearly empty. I ordered the Po' Boy. Was not good. Service was also slow, and their were two servers for the 5 or 6 customers.Their BBQ is usually pretty decent though, and their jalepeno poppers are great. I like this place, and I want them to succeed but I do think they need to to step up their game

The wife and I go here as often as we can. Always friendly, staff is on top of everything. I had the pork sandwich and the wife had the mac and cheese with brisket, both very filling and well made. Nice beer selection too.

Having grown up in the Southern U.S., I've been missing some of the foods I love. After eating here tonight, return visits are in my future. The pulled pork was delicious, and the beef brisket was falling apart tender. And the corn muffins - spot on! Great food, friendly service. The laid back atmosphere was what I needed after a long day's work.

My husband and I frequently eat at this restaurant. It is SO good! We have tried several things on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The service is always wonderful and the atmosphere is very laid back (great if you have a baby in tow! Some restaurants seem to turn their nose up if you take your infant with you, but here they don't seem to care!). If you are craving real southern BBQ for a good price, check this place out! Highly recommended!

I had the pulled pork bbq sandwich with parm fries. I was expecting the fries to be fresh cut, but they were just normal fries with a little parmesan sprinkled on top. Nothing spectacular. The sandwich was good, but I did not like the sauce they put on it. It came with a fried pickle which was probably my favourite part of the meal. Will probably go back.

Everything looked really good on the menu really would have enjoyed trying the food but unfortunately the waiter was to busy talking to the bartender, than a couple came in he seated them ask them what they wanted to drink, got there drinks took there orders than continued to talk to the bartender for another 5 mins while we sat there like idiots. Mike should not be a waiter maybe he's a really good server but today he was not, maybe another day I'll be able to go in and try the food and actually get some service till that day comes I guess I'll eat else where.

I have lived in the neighbourhood now for 4 years. It's a five minute walk from my house. When I moved here, people at work told me that it used to be a great place to eat, but had dropped in quality. I decided to try it out regardless because I love pulled pork and have supported most of the other restaurants on 124st. The service was friendly, but disinterested and appeared to understand that most of the food wasn't worth promoting. I ordered the pulled pork and my date ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich. While the BBQ was good, the pork was not pulled....it was just sliced an inch thick. The chicken was butterflied before being fried.....Wendy's chicken fillets have more meat on them...and of course it was dry. All in all, the food was just good enough to not be sent back to the kitchen, but not really good enough to enjoy. I will not take anyone back there again and instead will continue to get my BBQ fix at Northern Chicken, just a block south on 124st.

I had a craving for ribs so I thought I'd try this place. We waited 45 minutes for food (an hour from when we sat down), and the ribs were dry. Side dishes were good, but main meat very disappointing. Also ordered the combo with chicken, pork, and bacon bomb. Very average, if not disappointing. Probably won't come back. Too bad because I love BBQ.

The lamb stuffed sausages with goat cheese are awesomely delicious! The salad on the other hand wasn't satisfying at all, small and mainly spinach plus a bottle of water all in all 20$... Not bad but if the salad was 30% to 50% bigger, it would make a huge difference and definitely make me come back.

Our waiter was great, friendly and pleasant. The food though was pretty close to terrible the ribs were dry and flavourless, the Mac and cheese was cold. Nothing seemed seasoned or sauced. We had to stop on the way home to eat again. And for $75 I shouldn’t be hungry after eating. The waiter did give us a $25 gift card but we won’t be using it anyways. **we didn’t have a chance to voice on concerns because our waiter didn’t return till after we had paid and were putting on our jackets as he said he was tied up in the kitchen, so we had to ask another waitress for our bill. We ate what we could and left. You can call me out on my post and try and make us look bad but I stand by my review. The food was not worth the $75 we spent. I hardly ate as I only had the 4 ribs that were dry and hardly had any meat on them and my boyfriend ate the two very small chicken things and the two sausages. The Mac and Cheese was left on both our plates as it was stone cold -Terry, Next time i’d just own up to your reviews left on online and maybe say “I’m sorry we fell short on your expectations, we hope you’ll give us a second chance” instead of being aggressive, defensive and hostile as I see with many of your review responses, or don’t reply at all. Because the kind of response you left me doesn’t really make anyone want to return.

This is my new favorite spot to dine!! I am not one to ever post a review but this establishment is very worthy of a 5 star rating. The brisket I've had everytime I order it has been so incredibly tender, and juicy! The parmesan garlic fries are absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are huge as well. Service has never let me down either. Highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience every single time!!

Ordered from skip the dishes so this review is based on meal being 15 min delivered. Portions were good sizes, ordered the test pound meal. As with all delivery food it drys out and with bbq its important to keep the moisture in, which is why I'm suprised bbq sauce is not sent complimentary on orders. Only reason for giving 3 stars is because reviewing other google reviews and seeing the owner Terry respond to customers with such anger instead of taking it as constructive criticisms and improving on the business, i can only assume that no changes will be made.
