This restaurant is probably the worst Indian restaurant in the city. And it's a shame because the old downtown location was such a charming quiet restaurant with courteous staff. But this location is the complete opposite. Goes to show what change of ownership does. This restaurant had large groups and it seemed the staff was overwhelmed. Nobody was regularly staffing the front entrance to greet people and check vaccine status. So it's very likely a bunch of unvaccinated people could easily walk in. Already non-compliant with AHS guidelines. Additionally the large party groups were going to the buffet without masks, some chatting with others and hovering over the buffet. Very unhygienic and definitely against AHS guidelines The music was extremely loud bhangra music. Would be great for a banquet hall at someone's wedding, but at a sit down restaurant it was just disruptive. Couldn't hear anyone in our group, even the person right next to me. We asked them to turn it down but they barely reduced it. Still very hard to hear anyone. The wait staff barely kept up at our table. They did not come around to check in on us and a member of our group was removing dirty plates from the table and bringing in cutlery because the staff couldn't be bothered. Please take my advice and stay away. There are plenty of good Indian restaurants that can balance service and food. There is no reason to encourage such poor behaviours from this restaurant. It seems like the clientelle they cater to is those that like to listen to loud party music and ignore health guidelines.

Horrible Buffet. I usually go there and go for ala carte but this time decided to go for Buffet and regretted my decision. The servers do not care to even ask about water. Had to look at them 5 times before a server came and asked if we needed anything. Chicken tikka was not refilled even after asking twice . Soup was cold. The naan bread was undercooked. If you are visiting this restaurant, never go for Buffet , specially if there is a party going on

We stopped at Hawaii South Common for a Friday night dinner date. The staff greeted us at the door promptly and said a table would be ready in a few minutes. We were seated at a private enclosed booth and our server informed us of the buffet was available. We had some questions on Indian beer and a bartender came over and answered our inquiry and recommended King Fisher beer from India. It was delicious. We had the buffet and all items on the buffet were absolutely delicious. I especially liked the butter chicken and Naan bread. The food here is so flavourful and freshly prepared. If you want an authentic Indian meal I would highly recommend you come here.

We made a reservation and then needed to add 2 additional people. When we asked for accommodation, we were reassured our table had enough seating but it didn't. One person was basically left half standing, half sitting and the staff made no effort to accommodate. Patrons were having extended conversations without mask over the buffet food. People were walking in without staff available to greet them so they were walking in without being vetted for vaccine proof. It's a prime situation for an outbreak to happen. Might as well be in a food court because if you want to eat, you have roll up your sleeves and become the waiter. I had to go grab menus for the table, grab our own water and bring the dirty plates to the wait staff. And that's for the À La Carte option. Want food a kid touched and put back? Come eat here! Don't want to talk to your date? Come hear and listen to the blaring bhangra instead. We asked the staff to turn down the music and they didn't. God, the New Asian Village management LOVES to acquire and milk their restaurants for profit, ambiance and food quality be damned.

We started dining at Haweli in downtown back in 2017. We made a trip downtown once a month to enjoy the beautiful menu options. Once the south side location came we made it a weekly routine. The buffet is always our go to as it has such an amazing selection of vegetarian and otherwise. The staff is always so courteous, attentive, right down to when they see us walk in they know to put an order of garlic naan on for us! COVID has taken lots of business, but I am so glad to see haweli stand strong through these impossible times. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience top notch food and service. Well worth the trip to south Edmonton! From a fello foodie ????????

Tried for the first time! First off staff were masked and did ask for vaccination. Second the atmosphere is very nice. The warm interior and various decorations were fun! There's even a little area with barrels! The booths are designed like train cars? They have luggage in the rafters! The food. We had chili fish of the Indo-Chinese section. Coconut rice, garlic naan, goat Rd curry and the spinach paneer. The chili fish uses basa( If I remember right), it was cooked well and was not chewy nor under cooked. It was also surprisingly not spicy. The paneer was soft and the puree was more chunky then liquid. Gives a nice texture. Coconut rice was cooked very nicely and had a really gentle taste. The goat was very delicious and was just enough to feed two people comfortably. It was mildly spicy too, so easier for those who don't like spice. Meal Came out to about 100 dollars for 5 dishes. Servers came a few times to check on us at the beginning of meal. Washrooms were also relatively clean. Meal Came out to about 100 dollars I would definitely come back.

I have been to other Indian food restaurants around this area and never want to go back their again, but Haweli is the best. I love their food and customer service. Now it has become one of our favorite restaurants where we like to go for special days or any day ????????

I have come here several times, it never disappoints. Food is delicious and the staff are awesome. Atmosphere is nice, booths are quite private. Portions are generous, I always have some yummy leftovers to look forward too the next day. Prices are fair for what you get. I look forward to my next visit!

We heard a lot about this restaurant and drove 1 hr to have dinner...it's a lot hyped up. We waited at the entrance for quite some time, no one greeted us. We were not served water or provided glasses till mid meal..we had to ask for the breads. The food was ok..plz have the chef's taste the food before serving..the custard was half cooked and you can taste the cornstarch. The glasses need checking..they were dirty..many were rusted..The silver lining was Deep's service which was exceptionally good.

I found the best Indian cuisine in Edmonton. Food taste is so good and authentic, service is also very good, all staff are friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend my friends and others.

I personally feel ‘this place is short staffed based off my experience over the last 4-5 visits. And because of that customer service I felt is compromised lately, it used to be better earlier. Food in terms of taste is very uncertain, I don’t know if it has something to do with rotation of their chefs or anything else. But what I’ve noticed is sometimes same dish ‘would taste better than other days. Also quantity keeps on changing too. Same appetizer that once used to be enough for three ppl, was this time only good for one person. Definitely there’s lot of room for improvements. Wasn’t planning to include picture of fly we got with Caesar. But looking at your response, I think you should see yourself what your “up to par” looks like.

This is a nice restaurant overall. The food is good! I tried the buffet, with quite options to pick from! The patio is great for summer days! Our server Shaina took care of meeting the customer satisfaction throughout our visit. A recommended place for Indian Dinning in Yeg! If you’re a wine lover like me, you this place lack the selection. But, they’re other alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to pick on the menu.

Great buffet, you can get a little bit of everything if you're not sure what you'll like. Everything was delicious!
