The food is good. But the customer service is lacking. I will be taking my business elsewhere
FIrst time trying Nigerian food! Definitely a great experience. Waiter gave a good suggestion for a variety of foods to try. Very friendly cook came out afterwards to show us raw Cassava that was used to prepare dish and also explain more details of the food we were served. Dishes that stood out were the Pepper soup which had a unique strong pepper taste that made your eyes light up and awake with it's strong presence. The African traditional meal with Eba (Cassava flour) had the interesting consistency of Italian Gnocchi, the Egusi (Melon soup) had a slightly sweet flavor of a pumpkin like stew. The Asun (BBQ goat) was also tasty with smoke and chili (although portion of meat was a bit small). Will be back again to try more food.
Great food..Quality service
Please african restaurant stop over charging for food. This egusi and rice cost men$55 dollars including delivery, and I could not finish this food because of how spicy it was. Not everyone handles spicy food, please ask the customer if he/she prefers spicy or not.
Very good food! Super friendly staff. Lamb special was quite good!
I really love this restaurant. It's far from my home and it's a long wait until I am able to get to it to order. I think about this food for weeks when I don't get to eat it. I come from a Asian group of people that also have a swallow and side dishes but I cannot find any of my traditional foods in Calgary when I miss it. This is the closest I can get and still eat with my hands. I love the fufus from this place and the stews and the unique way they cook their meat. I tried their suya today and asked for spicy suya. It was all delicious and not too spicy...I can eat spicier if they ever move in that direction. I am sad my meal is over again and I have to wait weeks to next one. The only reason I gave a rating a 4 is because i do find the price a bit steep for me but overall a happy blessing to eat from here. Thank you for your food!!!
My recent experience at Flavours was very pleasant. Thank you for your kind assistance and lovely food.
Might have a slight addiction to their puff puff, especially when its fresh out of the frying pan! Everything is is great, it was the first place I have ever tried Nigerian food! The Jollof, egusi, pounded yam, meat pies, where i even begin! Just order and you wont be disappointed!
This week we are all about trying new foods and cuisines while supporting local! • We had some super flavorful Nigerian cuisine from @flavoursrestaurant and man was it Tasty! Chef Adebola really has skills! • ON THE MENU: - PUFF PUFF - an African Timbit or Beignet made with coconut milk - JOLLOF RICE cooked with tomato sauce and spices - SUYA thinly sliced skewered beef marinated with Nigerian spices and ground peanuts - SPICY CHICKEN & BEEF - FRIED PLANTAIN - SHRIMP FRIED RICE
Great food, friendly staff, an all around great experience!
Yesterday me and my brother went to Flavours Restaurant, we were seated quickly. The man I forgot his name was very assertive and genuinely kind and welcoming. We felt soo respected and comfortable to be there. Our waiter was very attentive and awesome. The food is soo amazing, you can tell they cook the food with love. We ordered jollof rice, fish and okra. All of the food was fantastic and delicious. If you love flavor, please feel free to dine and take out because they are the best. The music there was also fantastic.
Loving the reviews, first time in Calgary, I just ordered Suya&Jollof! Let's see how it goes
I enjoyed the Nkwobi I ordered from Flavours. It was tasty and spicy as desired. The order was made in no time and the man at the counter was very courteous. I'll definitely order again.
First thing that stood out for me was the politeness and courtesy by the business owners. The meal was well made and I particularly enjoyed the snacks. The meatpie(patty) was very delicious. Would definitely consider visiting again.
The sweetest people and the best meat pie I have ever had. ???? First time I've had puff puff and I'm officially obsessed. ❤❤❤ Ordered here three days in a row.
This place serves the best Nigerian meat pies in town…well priced too!
My friend and I saw this restaurant on one of our favorite shows "Keeping it Real with Adeola" and we decided to try it out. We drove an hour and a half from Banff to Calgary and it was worth every moment. We had so many things but the Jollof rice was by far our favorite. The sauces on the goat and beef were delicious. Overall, great food, excellent service, and a very clean environment. I would recommend that you visit this restaurant for a taste of Nigeria.
Enjoyed a couple of take-out specialty delicacies to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As delicious as we had imagined! Though they were delicacies, I did expect slightly larger portion sizes for the price. Altogether, it was great!
Enjoyed the meal
Amazing place with amazing dishes! Service was humble and superb. Thumbs up to the chef and the manager
This restaurant is a great place to go when you wanna eat good food, not just African Delicacy. I always have a very good experience there. The food is very good and tasty and the customer service is a major plus+
A small tidy restaurant with a big welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a vegetarian variety dish and a beef option - everything was perfectly spiced and the beef was tender. The owner helped us in choosing as we were unfamiliar with some items and graciously offered some complimentary items to taste. A great experience and we will be returning for sure!
Amazing experience all round! Contracted them to cater for a large group and the service exceeded expectations. The packaging was very tidy, delivery was super prompt and the food itself? Let’s just say I’m definitely going to visit Flavors Restaurant for another experience! Thanks!!
The food and service was amazing! This was a step out for my wife and I but well worth it and we will definitely be back with our whole family. We enjoyed the warm, friendly atmosphere and always appreciate food that is lovingly prepared from scratch with authentic ingredients. There are different levels of spice to suit everyone's taste so if you want to try African cuisine this is the real deal. Thank you Adebola!
I just wanna give a big shout out to whoever I spoke to on the phone. You did an amazing job walking me through the different types of meat you offer. Trying new food from a different country can be challenging when you don’t know what your eating. Thank you for taking your time to explain everything to me. Also the food here is absolutely amazing. Very authentic and properly made! I recommend this place to everyone and anyone who has a passion for cultured/traditional food!
The meal was nice and their services were very good. I suggest flavours restaurant to anyone looking for a Nigerian meal. I look forward to coming here again.
A taste of back home
This is the best Nigeria Africa restaurant food I have ever tasted in Canada. It's so tasty and fast service. I actually took a picture of when my food was served and after I ate. I licked my plate will definitely visit them again whenever am in Calgary.
Flavours is excellent Nigerian cuisine. I love their fufu and okro soup! Keep up the good work!
The food is wonderful, I recommend the Asun, snail and tilapia fish. I see why the won the African restaurant of the year award.
The owners are very warm and caring! The food tastes delicious. They have managed to replicate the taste and experience you get from popular food joints in Nigeria! Keep it up guys
I am visiting from Toronto and I don't know if that's how the Nigerian food quality is here in Calgary but I was not impressed. After spending so much money for the food, the portion size did not reflect the amount of money I spent especially the rice and suya. The taste of the jollof rice amongst other things was underwhelming and did not show the true taste of Nigerian jollof. I had high hopes while ordering and my hopes were significantly crushed.
Tope was really nice and welcoming. The Suya and Asun I had brought back fond and beautiful memories. Would totally recommend ???? for a good authentic Naija foodie experience
Service here was very warm and welcoming and the food was better than I expected.
Food is always delicious. Friendly and courteous service.
In our western culture, we have included many foods from other cultures, including Mexican, European and Asian. But I had yet to try African food. My Mom and I decided to come here after hearing about Flavors on the radio. It was a great experience. Our server was very friendly and even got the owner for us when we were unsure of what to order. Bola gave us some great recommendations. The food was perfect, just spicy enough to be “zingy” but not burning hot. I really enjoyed the pounded yam, soups and chicken. The fried plantains are fabulous! The building is a little run-down, but still clean and maintained. This is a great place when you want to try something different.
Ordered takeout, food was delicious! The man on the phone was super nice and very helpful with ordering. Met the sweetest lady who was working there when I came to pick up as well. Great food and even greater service!! Highly recommend :)
they were very prompt and nice in getting my order (quite large and last minute) ready, and they have the best vegetable (the one without egusi)- so flavourful and well made.
Wonderful food, excellent service. Try the jollof rice with chicken. And don't forget the ginger beer.
Flavours makes the best puff puff and meat-pies in Calgary. This is coming from a food critic, trust me I have tried from all kinds of top notch caterers, flavors is the best hands down. Take it or leave it!
Excellent service. Fresh food and reasonable prices...
Great Nigerian restaurant. Well made food and warm staff. Thank you Bola!
First time trying Nigerian food and was thrilled with this experience! Amazing flavours and delightful staff. Will be making this a regular spot!
I called Flavours to order food. and had a very bad experience. My food was not delivered after I had already paid. I was only informed over 1.5 hours after I ordered the food that they wouldn't be delivering the food. The owner informed me it was none of her business when I called to make a complaint. I'm still not sure on how to get a refund. Overall service is extremely poor. I will not be patronising Flavours again
The daily specials are a must have. I had to go multiple times while i was visiting the city. The asaro, ofada rice and plantain was really good. What i loved most though, was the outstanding service. The owners and the wait staff were thoughtful and listened to my requests. The best Nigerian service outside Nigeria that I have ever had
Amazing food and customer experience. Very respectful and atmosphere just reminded me of Nigeria. I had the pounded yam and egusi. It was the best that I've had in a long time. Definitely will.be coming back to spend ????????????
Tasty food and great service
Just went here today and had such a great experience. I got myself the lamb special and it was definitely worth the wait! The sauce that comes with it taste amazing with the rice and lamb together. Their service was great and everyone was very friendly. Will visit here again for sure.
Unlike any food I've ever tried before, but delicious :) the owners are so friendly, and will help making a choice,my favourite was the suya-but be warned it is very spicy :)
Bad food portion. You pay a lot of money for really small amount of food. Their jollof rice is not nice either. Don't charge 10 dollars for beef if u only give 4 pieces of beef.
