Really enjoyed our visit to Evelyn's today. Aside from the Ambience and authentic coffee bistro feel, the staff was friendly and the coffee was delicious. We also tried a sandwich and it was delicious. The cranberry oatmeal cookie was huge and just fantastic as well. We were happy to hear that the owner comes in early at 6 am to fresh bake the goods daily. Thats dedication and attention to quality that you can see in their baked goods. There is a great variety in foods and their is some seating inside as well to take a break and unwind and enjoy some great brews. Definitely a great place to stop by in Banff!

The staff was very sweet. They did forget to use non-dairy creamer in my partners coffee so had to remake that and the breakfast sandwiches we got were only ok. Did enjoy the sit down area they offer with wifi and world maps on the wall to have fun looking at. Bought some coffee beans to bring back as a souvenir though because coffee they do well.

This is our go-to for a place to relax with a cup of something hot and tasty goodies to snack on. Nice location, good service and is by far better than the local SB. The only downside is the LOUD obnoxious music. It isn’t café appropriate nor is it conducive to a pleasant atmosphere to visit or get some business done. Trying to drown it out with your own music isn’t even possible. This is the volume they use at a bar, not a coffee shop.

I was fortunate enough to be raised in Banff, with that being said I was able to experience Evelyn’s Coffee Bar throughout various stages of my life. Even after having moved away and coming back to visit for the holidays, I would always look forward to grabbing a coffee or a homemade pastry. My particular favorites are the cranberry cheesecake and their wonderfully thick oatmeal cranberry cookie which are to die for! (They’re also their most popular cookie, I even remember eating them during my childhood, haha!) They also make amazing sandwiches in the morning and are available throughout the day such as their roast chicken sandwich with red grapes. To accompany the sandwiches especially on a chilly winter day, I enjoy a bowl of their daily homemade soups. Also if you’re organizing an event or work meeting with your colleagues, they offer catering services. Ask the service staff about the options that they offer. Everybody will be thanking you later. ;) What makes this coffee shop so great is their prime location, the coffee merchandise that they sell like the different roasts you can buy by the pound. Evelyn’s has an amazing Swiss Water Decaffeinated Dark Roast which is quite heavenly and helps with the late night coffee cravings. Haha. They’re located in the true heart of downtown Banff, if you’re on your own or with a friend you can sit by the window and people watch as tourists wander the town. They also have a great selection of seats in the cafe where one can catch up easily on chapter or two of the book that you’re reading or messages while you’re on vacation. What’s really nice too is that they’re open fairly late but please make sure to check their hours since it might change a little after posting this review. If you’re unable to come back to Banff for another visit. Fret not! You’ll still be able to experience the love and warmth of Evelyn’s Coffee from the comfort of your own home and bring the magic of Banff inside your house.

I went at 730 and closed. Needs to update hours on Google stating that they are open at 8. Parking is impossible in Banff and spent 10 min finding a spot and dodging snow plows. I came back today Dec 16 and thanks to the quick response from the owner that was completely out of there control someone calling in sick. 2nd chance so I went to do takeout as I had my dog outside. All the shops I have been into including McDonald's no proof of vaccine. I heard rave reviews on the cookies among other products. I came in and would not serve me without proof of vaccine which I had and left in the hotel room. Absolutely shocked on this policy as previously mentioned no stores or Mcdonald needed proof of vaccine to shop or do takeout. I have friends coming down to Banff for Christmas and messaged them to find another coffee shop. Unfortunately not even worth 1 star, google is generous.

If I could give less than one star I absolutely would. I walked into Evelyn's coffee bar today (October 18) and was browsing at the baked goods before ordering, and was immediately asked for my proof of vaccination. I was told that I need to show proof of vaccination simply to order any product from the coffee shop, despite the fact that I was taking it to go and would not be dining in. I find it absolutely ridiculous that a business would require proof of vaccination simply to sell you a product. Clearly the owner of this establishment is very pro-discrimination and against medical choice. I can only imagine that this would take a toll on your business, and rightfully so. I left without showing any papers on principle alone and I hope others do the same.

I seldom give reviews, and I always give the benefit of the doubt. Yesterday I bought a sandwich and square to go. At the time I ordered and paid no one else was in the shop, and there were 3 employees. I assumed I would be handed the two items right away; however, I was made to wait more than 5 minutes, while they served the next customer who had just arrived. He had a simple order. Most of the time the 3 employees were simply standing there, occasionally glancing over at me. I am disappointed because I have fond memories of this business, often picking up a few good quality pastries whenever passing through Banff.

Wonderful little coffee shop, the hot chocolate with whip cream is amazing, and the caramel tea is mind blowing. Inside is very cozy, warm, and stylish. They seem to have daily specials for 1$. We got two amazing warmed up chocolate croissants for $1 each, and they are the best we've had of all time. Highly recommended!!

Food was great, I got a London fog, espresso and veggie sandwich. My sandwich I got right away but I waited awhile for my hot drinks. Service was the issue. When I went to the bar and asked if they had my order the barista told me “oh I made that ages ago and called your name 3 times your stuff is cold”. I was sitting in the shop waiting to hear my name but is is crowded and they have loud music playing so I could not hear. Thankfully she remade my drinks which I so appreciate. But, you should assume if a customer has paid >$20 for their order they want their food. Seems like a bad system for getting food to their guests. Working in food and bev myself I hunt down guests who don’t come for their order.

Best coffee in town hands down with friendly staff. Almost everything here is home made and the cookies are MASSIVE and to die for especially the double chocolate and yogurt chocolate chip. The owner was happy to help me out and choose coffee beans to take home to México. It’s really unfortunate to see these negative reviews in regards to vaccination passports when the owner is just following the rules. I can see how hard she works and I know that having a business during covid and keeping it afloat is extremely difficult. I will come back every time I visit Banff and tell all my friends to do the same. Thanks Marini & staff for always being so inviting and making me feel welcome every time I went for my morning coffee and pastry during my stay in Banff.

Great atmosphere once you pass the Health ID shakedown. Staff bluntly demands your paperwork, health ID before saying hello while glaring at you. I wasn’t sure if they were already mad at me for getting my QR code. Recommend entering with papers and ID visible as I guess you’re a health threat until confirmed. Hopefully that makes it a better experience. I thought it was a pleasant atmosphere to spend having lunch and tea. -Hi, not sure how to reply to a reply. Yes today. Monday early afternoon. Thanks.

Marini pauw makes a claim that as the owner was denied by AHS to serve takeout to unvaccinated or anyone who does not provide a vaccine pass. This is a lie and a lie designed specifically to segregate customers into 2 groups. The serviceable and the unserviceable. Canadians and more specifically Albertans do not need a vaccine pass to be served takeout from a coffee shop. I find this absolutely appalling to lie to your customers who raise this issue it’s disgusting and unreasonable, treating grown adults like children who can’t think for themselves. I have been inside many places in and around Banff that serve takeout to all respectable people without requiring any sort of vaccine pass. Exactly the same layout coffee shops, so stop the miss-information.

This coffee bar had a lot of good reviews. I don't normally drink coffee but it was a wet and cold day in Banff and I decided to check them out. I took one sip of the Mocha and it was amazing. The flavor was perfect for me. Definitely worth giving them a try if you're into coffee.

Friendly service, great coffee, great prices. You really can't beat this coffee bar. I stopped in for a coffee, a bagel with cream cheese and a chocolate croissant. Everything was really good, but I have to say the chocolate croissant was the absolute best croissant I've ever had. Knowing how incredible that croissant was makes me want to go back and try all their baked goods ???? Highly recommend this place.

Made a stop in Banff to grab a takeout coffee for the road. I don't believe in sharing medical info with anyone other than my doctor, so the "vaccine passports" don't align with my beliefs. However, I understand the "rules" and know I can only get takeout. I was shocked when the barista declined me service because I wouldn't disclose my status before taking my order. Nowhere in AB that I have been to has refused to serve me for anything to go (nor does it say anything of the sort in the restrictions). Update: Saw the owners reply and have reached out to Kori at AHS. These rules are getting ridiculous and should be backed by evidence as they are directly affecting businesses and the frontline workers having to deny service (opening the door for conflict). People can pack a mall on Boxing Day - regardless of their status - but only certain individuals are allowed to order a coffee to go? Based on the response I received from AHS, the owner should be challenging the verdict on who they can and cannot serve as it isn’t consistent with what I’ve seen from other businesses and what they’ve been allowed to do.

If you're looking for a coffee shop in Banff, skip Starbucks and come here! The pastries are so delicious (banana bread and cookies) and the lattes are amazing. I also tried the breakfast sandwich which was so good, the ham in it was awesome. There are washrooms conveniently located in the mall, just a few steps away and there is a decent sized sitting area to drink your coffee. Tables are on the smaller size but it worked for my group of three.

While at our stay in banff, we came here every morning for breakfast and a London fog. The breakfast sandwiches were absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. The outdoor seating was quite nice as well. They have a neat selection of mugs and coffee/tea accessories. Very very polite and kind staff and overall loved coming here each morning before we started our day of adventures.
