After raving about Elizabethan for a week after attending a wedding, I was pleasantly surprised to see them at another wedding the following weekend. Their food is AMAZING! Normally I don't take a little of everything from the buffet, but everything looked delicious and it didn't only look delicious it tasted even better then it looked. Along with amazing food, their service was awesome - staff was always keeping an eye out for questions, empty food bins, etc. Don't forget to save room for their amazing desserts

We used Great Events Catering for a staff lunch. With Covid restrictions, food was required to be separate. They labelled everything for each person, all allergies and specifications were met. The food itself was amazing and the staff raved about the food and the quality of the ingredients! Ordering and organizing for individual meals for 50+people can be challenging but this company assisted with every need and requirement! These meals were so affordable and met within our budgets as well. This by far exceeded my expectations!

Amazing experience from beginning to end! I have never ordered catering for a personal event before! I didn't even know where to start for our wedding. I sent a few quotes out, and Elizabethan was right away the most up front about prices and their services. They made the entire process so easy, fun and stress free! The Sales Associate I worked with was amazing. She made sure I knew what to expect and was always available if I had any questions. During the event, the staff were extremely professional and friendly. They anticipated our needs and did way more than expected! From beginning to end, Elizabethan has amazing service and staff. Throughout pretty much our whole 3 year engagement Elizabethan was more than a caterer to us; they were an absolute relief and support. When things went wrong with our vendors, Elizabethan showcased their professionalism and experience by always having a solution to keep our heads straight. The staff were very professional. Jillian, our main contact, was an excellent ambassador to Elizabethan and always answered our calls and emails quickly and thoroughly. The fact that in addition to being able to taste the food beforehand ( so great, cannot stress enough how delicious and beautiful our food was) but included in the price was a staff for our wedding, linens napkins, plates etc, and set up and take down. If you want a caterer who is zero stress, very supportive, and cooks the best food around, choose Elizabethan

Great Events catered our wedding at Spruce Meadows this May and they did an absolutely amazing job. All of our guests made comments about how incredible all of the food was and the staff was so good about looking out for our guests with dietary restrictions. Working with Michelle leading up to our wedding was an excellent experience as well. She took time to meet with us and understand what we were looking for and she gave excellent advice about things to consider that we never would have thought of without her expertise. I could not say enough great things about this company! Jillian was always amazing to deal with and she always went above and beyond to help us manage our wedding plans through COVID! The constant menus changes and last minute table clothes….she always came through! And the staff at the wedding were absolutely amazing as well! So professional and looked like they enjoyed their job, and just overall were awesome deal with! And lastly….the food! The food was UNREAL!!! The amount of compliments we received asking about the company was huge! They gave us separate dishes for our couple guests and the food was so yummy and spices used were perfect! Great Events did not perform as expected when I used them for my wedding at Crossroads Market. They ran out of salad dressing, side potatoes and cake/dessert. My husband and I didn’t get any of our cake or potato side dish. No one got seconds on anything. We ordered a coffee chart to greet people with chai and rosso coffee when they arrived. The coffee chart arrived 2 hours into our meal with no CHAI and no rosso. I’m Indian. I paid for 220 people and only 190 attended, I can’t imagine what would have happened if everyone invited attended. Unfortunately, would not recommend Great Events or Crossroads Market.

We booked Elizabethan Catering for our wedding reception and unfortunately we had to cancel due to COVID-19. However, every staff member we were in contact with was so helpful, responsive and empathetic to our situation. We will definitely be using their services in the future when large events are safe again. The food is delicious (have been to many catered events by them), the customer service is incredible, and the value is great! They have a menu that fits any budget and dietary restriction.

Remember the time we went to Agra and got pictures of everything but the Taj Mahal? That's what this review feels like because I forgot to take a pic of the MAIN ATTRACTION! The largest, most succulent, vibrant lobsters I have had in decades. But, please don't punish Great Events Catering because of my mistake. I assure you the entire meal we ordered had us surreptitiously licking our plates. It's become an end-of-the-year tradition to order lobster dinner. If Great Events keeps the same seafood supplier, this will be our go-to choice! The dinner came prepared, to heat: oven vegetables, white asparagus preserves, beet trio with goat cheese salad, artisan baguette, whole Atlantic lobsters, buttered rum eggnog cheesecake. The price was very reasonable (including the cost of home delivery) and the presentation was beautiful. Most importantly the ingredients were fresh and the flavours delightful. We had been looking very forward to this meal for weeks and even still, it surpassed our expectations.

The Great Events team is truly amazing. They were flexible with our ever-changing plans due to COVID and accommodated every ask we had. The food was absolutely delicious and was delivered in a COVID friendly way which made all our guests comfortable. One thing that we wanted at our wedding was tandoori chicken as it is one of our favourite meals and honours my heritage. Although it was not on the Great Events menu, the chef curated a tandoori chicken dish just for us and we could not have been more grateful. It was absolutely amazing and meant so much to us that he went above and beyond to help make our day spectacular. Cathy was also delightful to work with. She replied to emails consistently and created several quotes for us in a moments notice as our plans kept changing. She also worked with us and gave us recommendations throughout our planning process. We would highly recommend Great Events Catering to anyone looking for a caterer.

I used this amazing catering company for my wedding reception at Spruce Meadows. They did an outstanding job. They set up all of the tables, place setting, and made the most elegant dishes. The food was delicious, and they were so accommodating to all the allergies and intolerances present. I specifically worked with Michelle, who worked SO hard, and was SO flexible, to ensure the evening was perfect. She was extremely quick to follow up on emails, and always answered in great detail. The servers, cooks, and everyone else behind the scenes did an amazing job to make our wedding reception wonderful! My husband and I are eternally grateful.

Our company purchased tickets to and attended an Elizabethan organized christmas event along with some other businesses. From top to bottom these guys acted like pros dealing with Emily was an excellent experience. One ticket price included Dinner, Drinks, Live band, DJ, Photo booth, Santa and Mrs Claus and a shuttle home all for a very reasonable price. Keep these guys in mind for booking any company event, you will not be disappointed, we will for surely be calling them next year.

I attended my good friend's wedding last night in Spruce Grove. The quality of the food served was good, however they ran out of menu items at the buffet before all tables were served. Additionally the caterer did not notify the bride, groom or MC that there was a shortage of food, instead several guests brought it up to the bride, which caused unnecessary stress during what is meant to be a beautiful celebration. As requested the incorrect information has been removed, however I maintain a 1 star rating at this time. The fact remains that 2 menu items were not adequately supplied at the venue, and if all guests had been in attendance I'm confident even more would have been without a dietary alternative. Furthermore, if there is an anticipated portion serving for a side dish at a buffet then the guests should be made aware, or a server hired for that dish so that every person may recieve at least one serving if desired.

Recently we had Elizabethan Catering provide services for our 55th wedding anniversary that was held in a private home in Edmonton with 50 guests present. The food we ordered was cold and hot horsdoerves served during the afternoon - a combination of self-serve and butlered. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had Elizabethan cater our wedding on September 1st, 2018. I cannot express enough how amazing this company and staff were. Planning a wedding is a very stressful and difficult process, especially if you do not hire a wedding planner which we did not. I can honestly say that the best part of the whole experience was having this company as our caterer. They made absolutely every step of the process easy and hassle free. We worked directly with Jillian and she was attentive and answered our emails within minutes. she was available by phone whenever we needed her and went above and beyond in helping us with this whole process. We really had our hearts set on doing a plated service and having beef at our wedding, both of which we knew would be a little more costly, but Jillian helped us to easily create a menu that was within our budget. You really cannot beat their prices, we looked and got quite a few quotes and we're so glad we found this company. We went for a tasting to try out their food beforehand and it was such an amazing experience. From meeting the staff and owners to really trying all of the amazing food they have to offer really helped us on picking our menu. Our guests raved about the food and the service we received. The setup was beautiful and quickly done by their staff the day before which really helped us out a lot. I highly recommend this company, I highly recommend going for the tasting to really see the quality of food they present and to meet the people here as you can tell they really put their heart into their work. The team lead for our wedding, Austin, was absolutely fantastic to deal with the day prior to the wedding during set up and the day of the wedding, making sure every small detail was taken care of. The communication with our main contact, Jillian, prior to the wedding was exceptional, with timely responses to emails and making it very easy for us to trust that everything was taken care of. We got Elizabethan Catering for our Wedding this year. The staff is truly 5 star, and the food is amazing. We had a buffet style and everything was fresh and I received so many complements about the food! The staff helped make our night one to remember, they actually made us a dessert plate and left it at the head table for us, since they noticed we hadn't had a chance to have any. The Bartenders were also amazing, they made sure my mom stayed hydrated as she was running around all night, and were so helpful.

Wow. Amazing! We used Elizabethan for Christmas Eve dinner and they were beyond fantastic! Everything from the online ordering process, to customer care, to pickup was seamless (especially compared to the gong show at Sandyview). The food was incredible!! I make my own Christmas pudding and was skeptical that their's would be as good, but they proved me wrong! So delicious. Everyone at the table gobbled up their food and we will definitely be using Elizabethan again! Thank you for making Christmas especially tasty for 2020!

Overall, stupendous service. We provided our dessert, however, the set up team went out of their way to make the table beautiful. The only issue we experienced was with horseradish. It was extremely hot, even for people who love horseradish. It would’ve been preferable to have a mild version and a hot version. The gravy was very tasty however was a bit lumpy. The veggies and potatoes and buns were top notch. I cannot tell you enough about the quality team you provided for our event. They were pleasant, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our evening special. For example they asked if I wanted the napkins folded in any particular fashion and proceeded to figure out how to fold the napkins in heart shapes for the anniversary celebration. Everything was lovely! All of the guests were very pleased. My mother is very picky about roast beef and I was very pleased that the beef was very tasty, tender and plentiful. Absolutely Recommend!

I have mixed emotions about Elizibethan Catering. The first time I had their food, I had it fresh, and it was delicious. The second time was alright I bought frozen food, and so far it was ok. The Chicken Pot Pie was alright, but the Spicy Italian Sausages were a bit sweet, and the Macoroni and cheese very very very cheesy. The ham baked meals were awesome though.

We cannot thank Elizabethan enough for catering our wedding. Our sales associate Jillian was extremely helpful from the first moment I emailed her, all the way through our planning process up until the wedding. We experienced an amazing tasting on site where we learned more about the food and met the owners and other staff. Jillian kept in touch with us frequently and was always quick to offer suggestions and help with questions. They offered lots of substitute options to meet the dietary restrictions of our guests. The menus were beautiful and the staff who set up the wedding were friendly and professional. The food was AMAZING. There was more than enough, it was fresh and hot, and our guests couldn’t get enough. The team serving us and our guests was prompt, friendly, and helpful. They even rushed to assist when our table skirts weren’t staying on at the head table. We were expecting to have to move tables out of the way for the dance floor but the staff took care of this for us too and even took down the tables we didn’t need in the exact area we wanted. I could go on and on. 10/10 would recommend, we could not have been happier with the service we received. Thank you.

Elizabethan, and their representative Jillian Stirling, were absolutely amazing to deal with. We selected them after trying food at a few places and pre-covid. When the pandemic hit they were extremely responsive, flexible and one of the only places willing to return a deposit due to the extreme situation. They allowed us not only to switch dates to 2021, but to switch venues 3 times (including a week before the wedding) and switch from buffet to plated. Jillian came to two different locations to do site visits and when we needed a last minute venue the week before, she reached out personally to a venue to help host us. The food was good (highly recommend the mushroom soup), the staff were polite and out of the way. I expect most of this with a professional company, but the manner with which they bent over backwards and made us feel like family, not just a bride and groom... unmatched. I ordered a High Tea Gourmet Box, Rustic Charcuterie and Dessert Box for my daughters birthday New Years Eve. I was really disappointed to find moldy fuit in my order. I paid over $100 and hoped that the quality would reflect the price. I gave 2 stars because I thought that the presentation was beautiful and the delivery was on time. But the moldy fruit made me question the quality of the rest of the food. I’ve contacted Great Events Catering but I haven’t heard back yet:(

We had been back and forth with them a few times but after we had to switch our reception venue, we weren't able to hire any outside catering. We booked Elizabethan in June 2020 for our wedding reception last weekend. The entire time Jillian and her team were fantastic to work with, right down to a week before our wedding due to some changes in Covid restrictions. The food was absolutely delicious, and they were very willing to make our “breakfast for dinner” late lunch a reality. Covid specific, Jillian’s communication was top-notch and she was willing to work with us in whichever direction we chose to go regarding our (at the time, very unknown) reception circumstances, whether it was postponing our booking, cancelling altogether, or using our deposit for their pre-made meal services. When we decided to go ahead with our small 20 person reception, Elizabethan made individually packaged Wedding Feast meals that each person was able to take, and even take home any leftovers. Who knew so much food could fit in such small to-go containers! Finally, they were great to deal with when it came to our overpayment (we originally booked for 130 people). The one small thing we have a critique about is the Thai Noodle salad. When we booked our tasting, it was the best thing on our plate and we had been looking forward to it for a year before our wedding. While it was still DELICIOUS, it seemed like there may have been a change in the recipe, and it wasn’t quite like we remembered (although it could be the fact that we had tasted it literally a year prior). I just ordered a charcuterie box for my Mother in Law and she loved it. It was everything as described but better! She said it was absolutely delicious. An incredibly disappointing catering company. AVOID IF YOU CAN!! I implore you to look at the Yelp reviews for an honest picture. Unfortunately, we went through Elizabethan, despite an overall poor rating and poor reviews as we were limited by time and location restraints and they were able to accommodate. Despite all their reassurances and telling us that they make x amount of food extra - there simply just wasn't enough food! And I'm not talking a few items - I'm talking most items for a good chunk of guests AT OUR WEDDING. Many guests were forced to just eat scrapings of salad because the main courses ran out so quickly. How could you make such a grave error?? At someone's wedding?? It's an embarrassment, and while they may come on to Yelp and apologize, it's fruitless frankly because reviewing your company's reviews, this has been a recurrent issue. And frankly, the food wasn't even that good. The only regret we have of our lovely wedding day, was the food/catering and it's Elizabethan we thank for that. I highly recommend avoiding if you have the option. Very disappointed with their service and professionalism. Elizabethan: if you agree to take money to cater a couple's wedding - arguably the most important day of their lives - you need to be prepared to take that responsibility, and make that day memorable. Well I guess you made it memorable, but in the worst, most regretful way possible. Overall, a giant disappointment. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Update: Steven, since you have chosen to respond, defensively, I will update my post. I was certainly a client and I’ve chosen to protect my identity given your propensity to harass and shame prior individuals who have commented negatively on your company. Taking pride in your work would be owning up to failed promises, ensuring food is of good quality and of adequate quantity - I can’t tell you enough how disappointing it was to have Elizabethan completely underserve our wedding, with distasteful food. Again, look at Yelp reviews and you will see nothing but 0 stars. I will stress again - to those who have a choice, I strongly recommend an alternative caterer.

What can I say??????? Amazing, beautiful, caring, polite, professional, at ease all day, and the staff was beyond genuine. I have known Steven and Liz for over 30 years. I have seen them at various events from bar b ques to hundreds of weddings, each and every time, they are early, food is always hot and smiles on the guests and staff. Then, in September of 2018, we had the opportunity to personally have their team for our own wedding. From the first meeting to the clearing of dishes, after the food service, the event was exceptional! My amazing wife also had unique ideas for the food and they were addressed and provided. There was always extra hot and freshfood for our guests, and the comments over the deserts was "these deserts are to die for" From my brother, who is a chef in his own way, that is a 10 star. Tet's talk about the presentation of the various food stations to their desert stand, it was like being at a art exhibit! Well done Is he going to stop?? Let me rest assure anyone looking for a company that believes in customer service and is genuine and humble, choose Elizabethan Catering.

We had Elizabethan cater our annual staff party this past weekend. Emily helped put together our menu and was extremely helpful and responsive. The team that arrived the day of the party were professional and super efficient. We had so many compliments about the food as well! They could use a few more vegan options on the menu, but they were very accommodating for diets and allergies! We also used their bartending services. The two bartenders we had were awesome and very friendly! Highly recommend.

They set up for us as early as they could the day of our wedding and even helped me get my food through the buffet line because they didn't want my dress to get dirty. They truly cared! Plus the food was DELICIOUS. My family and friends still can't stop talking about how awesome it was. My family is Ukrainian and they all loved the perogies. I saw guests take more than two cookies too. So yummy!!! Thanks so much Elizabethan!!!! We truly appreciate the great service and food.

Vicky and her team were great to work with for our wedding. Everything from the booking process, to the tasting, and of course the actual wedding was perfect. We made a few changes to the menu that they were very accommodating about, and as a result the meal was perfect. The only hiccup along the way is that the team was 1hr late dropping off all the linens so we were really rushed to decorate the night before. However the team rushed to get them finished and offered to stay late to finish what we could not complete that night.

My wedding was last month and Great Events did an incredible job. Couldn't recommend them more. Outside marquee, carpeted flooring, inside chiffon wall panelling, outside champagne reception followed by seated dinner for 130 - all was impeccable and well executed. I dealt with Sarah Jane from start to finish and her attention to small details, follow up, expertise on product and leadership when needed was incredible! Experienced Elizabethan Catering for the first time at a wedding reception. The food was mediocre at best. The vegetables were absolutely drowning in butter and the roast was drier than an Arizona desert in the middle of August. Maybe some of that butter could have been used for the roast. Dessert wasn't much better. The eclairs were tough and I've tasted better whipped cream from a can. I think someone mixed up the choux pastry with shoe pastry.

We had Elizabethan cater our wedding this past weekend and every aspect was top notch. The planning process was straight forward and very friendly, even with some of our guest's having dietary concerns. Elizabethan went above and beyond to ensure our food was excellent. Even more impressive than the food was the professional attitude and conduct of everyone involved. The set up crew made sure everything was perfect before they left the morning of the event. The dinner service team was so efficient if it wasn't for the buffet constantly being looked after we may not have even noticed them in the building. Our reception had over 120 people and every single one raved about how good the food was. 10/10, wish I could give Elizabethan more than 5 stars. Thank you!!

Went to an open house tasting and the quality was way higher than expected. Food was good and had a lovely presentation. However they did a poor job labelling allergies. For celiacs, they do have gluten free food but be cautious of cross contamination and poor labelling, I did get glutened. Service was decent, some good and some passable. The food overall was really enjoyable and modern which lead to the carter being booked from this tasting. The wine they served however was not good so see if they have other options.

Went to the fathers day brunch buffet at the gallery on green Congress hall which was catered by this company. Absolutely DELICIOUS food, every single thing was so dang good and so many options! My only complaint is that I couldn't fit more into my stomach! I'd go to anything catered by these folks.

We recently had a holiday luncheon for over 115 people and their beautiful boxed lunches were perfect given COVID restrictions. Everyone was raving about the delicious food! The price was great for how much food was in each lunch, plus there was a good variety and the presentation was lovely as well. Will definitely order from them again!

They catered our Xmas lunch at work. Was supposed to be a turkey dinner but they didn't bring enough turkey for everyone. ...fail. gravy was watered down and the cranberry sauce was very bizarre. How do you mess up cranberry sauce? !?! Overall the whole thing seemed thrown together. Do not recommend.
