You will see the opinions of people who consume the services of Cornerstone Catering and Café (Catering) in the area of Alberta (Canada).
At the present the firm has a score of 3.6 over 5 and that score was based on 27 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite high, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

When we had our vow renewal in Canmore in early September, we used Cornerstone for our supper. Because of gluten sensitivities for over 7 people present, we asked for a completely gluten free buffet (other than dessert). Cornerstone was so accommodating! The food was amazing and the service was excellent! We were very very happy with our experience and would highly recommend them!
Great staff , great service. Very happy
A pandemic is never easy for anyone; but you think that in return people/companies wouldn't try to add to peoples hardships. However, this does not seem to be the case for this company as they seem to value money more than they value their clients. People are dollar signs and not people - even when no work will actually be done from this company. As someone who has to sadly cancel their wedding day, a thing no bride ever dreams to do, this company made this process harder and more difficult. As a member of the wedding party I am completely disgusted with how they treated the bride as she is beside herself upset with the decision that has been made. Being sent nothing but no's from this company, and only this company, when asking for her deposit since she is cancelling her wedding due to the restrictions. Overall, this company is not flexible and shows no empathy to their clients. Best to keep looking before settling down here for any event.
Nom nom nom. I’ve attended a few events catered by Cornerstone. Dang delicious. Love the Potato Bar. I could eat those potatoes all day, every day.
Great staff , great service. Very happy
We were in Canmore for thanksgiving and had turkey dinner prepared for the family. Woaw!!! Portion were very generous and everything was so fresh and tasty. A keeper for the gate away in Canmore.
Cheap quality coffee, hot chocolate. The worst hot chocolate I could imagine. Not too polite staff. Being away from spot while we were waiting, when he returned and my kids were ready to pay for ice-cream said: kids are not allowed to pick up ice-cream (no signs and no logic, how are they suppose to choose?) After getting bad hot chocolate I asked Americano instead, got even worse sort of Diluted Coffee smell water. Expensive enough ice-cream looked few times thawed before refreezed and sold to us. I didn't address this issue, got tired of "Why am I here", and I didn't want to ruin my family excitement of being in Nordic center. I will not return and pay a cent in this coffee shop.
Great food, good prices
We had our wedding at the Canmore Nordic Centre; Cornerstone Catering was the company that provided the food and the wedding coordination. I can't say enough good things about the experience. From the lovely and incredibly capable Louise Alberg, our personal coordinator, who helped us along every step of the way, to the amazing (and I mean it was incredible) food. The venue, the price and especially the customer service was all top notch. I'm so glad we chose Cornerstone Catering for our wedding. I highly recommend.
Warm coffee...cold chilli
Great little cafe at the Nordic Center day lodge. Good food. Good prices and nice coffee. Highly recommended.
Great food and amazing customer service! Would definitely recommend Cornerstone Catering!
We had booked with Cornerstone prior to the pandemic for an August 2020 wedding. The service and professionalism leading up to the pandemic was 5 star however the experience was night and day once COVID came into the picture. I can appreciate that this was an unpredictable and unprecedented event for everyone however, this vendor struggled in comparison to all of the other vendors I worked with. My fiancé and I tried to ask to move our date (were willing to keep paying and didn’t want any money back... We only wanted to move the date as our other vendors 2021 schedules began to fill) however, this particular vendor (and only this vendor) had very strict policies and were completely inflexible. They were essentially asking couples to wait until 4 weeks before their wedding (while requiring them to still pay) and at that point you could postpone or cancel... Anyone who was planning a wedding during 2020 can probably empathize with the stress that this caused. As we got closer and it was clear the original wedding wasn’t going to happen they did allow us to switch to an elopement package and gave back the difference (we did appreciate this gesture and would like to recognize that as one of the positives). The real problems came in connection to the day of the elopement. I will start with the positives... The day of coordinators were friendly and did the set-up for the event which was nice. Key complaints: 1. Considering that they are a catering company as well as the price we paid it would have been lovely to pick our own appetizers. We were not given a choice and the three that were chosen for us seemed like the cheapest items on the menu and they were honestly gross (I could have gotten tastier options from the frozen section at Safeway)... As the bride I hadn’t eaten a lot so by the end of the ceremony I was starving only to be given a plate of appetizers that I couldn’t even stomach... I ended up giving my food to my mom. I don’t know why they made the choice to not give the couple any say in the food but it was extremely disappointing... And left a poor taste in our mouth. 2. My largest critique was connected to the handling of food allergies... My fiancé’s mom is deathly allergic to shellfish and we explained this multiple times and they assured us that they made note of the allergy... Although they had another option for his mom to eat EVERYONE else was given shrimp... My fiancé and I were livid but had just finished saying our “I do’s” and didn’t want to have a conflict with Cornerstone 5 minutes after getting married. The rest of the afternoon & for our pictures we had to keep his mom additionally distanced to ensure that she did not have an anaphylactic reaction. Extremely disappointing and honestly this action was negligent on their end... Out of all the things on your appetizer menu (since we couldn’t pick our own) you went with SHRIMP... Why!? 3. As I was getting out of the car I heard my entrance song playing and panicked... All of the guests and my fiancé were in the ceremony area and I thought that I had missed my cue... The error left me frazzled right before my walk down the aisle... the event coordinator did acknowledge and apologize for the error which I will recognize however, considering they had assured us they were taking care of the music you would have hoped they would be mindful of this. Honestly... I had an amazing day but if I could go back I would have chosen not to include Cornerstone as part of my day. As professionals in the wedding industry I expected more and was left very frustrated and disappointed.
Would give 0 if I could. They made my friends heartbreak of cancelling her wedding 10x worse. Wouldnt use in the future
I absolutely LOVE the frozen takeaway meals for purchase at the Nordic Centre. We just had the butter chicken tonight, and it was the best butter chicken I've ever had! We've also had the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and thai coconut curry and two thumbs up from all family members! Generous portions and fair pricing will make these a staple in our kitchen!! Thank you!
If zero were an option I would give it. One of my closest friends has had to do the absolutely unthinkable and cancel her wedding due to something out of EVERYONES control, a worldwide pandemic. Let me tell you this is not a decision that was made lightly and is absolutely heartbreaking. This company has denied her the deposit she put down because they think covid won't still be a thing in July, JULY. Cornerstone Catering do you have some inside scoop into covid-19 that the rest of the world does not know about? She has given as much notice as humanly possible and I know for a fact would have been rebooking when the time was right. With this lack of compassion and professionalism from this company I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. As if the current state of the world and now having to cancel a wedding she has put so much time, thought, and planning into isn't hard enough this company has decided to make it harder and drag one of the most heartbreaking things on and on. If a return of a small deposit is too much to ask for this company the decent thing they could do is at least show some COMPASSION, treat her like a human, and take the time to discuss with her and work something out rather than a flat out no multiple times. OUTRAGEOUS.
The Nordic Centre was the venue for our recent wedding on October 10th and it was an incredible experience. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Harry, Jessica, the chef and the whole staff who handled our day with professionalism and made it easy and seamless. The room itself is stunning with a view that can’t be beat, the food was amazing and the staff were just great! We felt confident every step of the way that any concerns associated with Covid would be dealt without issue and that our constant changes that resulted from the pandemic would be accommodated. We would not hesitate to recommend the Cornerstone Catering team at the Nordic Centre to anyone looking for a venue. We can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
We had Cornerstone cater a dinner and a lunch for an event I was at in Canmore. The food was all individually packaged so there was no dinner buffet to set up. We had a salmon and chicken meal that came with two salads and two starches. It was exquisite. For the lunch, we ordered the Mediterranean option. The meatballs deserve a chef’s kiss. The salad, hummus and tzatziki were all individually packaged so it was quick to take to the table and easy to clean up. Thanks again for an amazing two meals. As someone who helped with the meal prep for this event, I sure appreciated the time off. Now to go dream about the meatballs again!!
We decided to hire Cornerstone Catering for our wedding in August 2021, we were aware that the deposit was non-refundable so the decision wasn't easy. We got lucky and had no COVID restrictions in place. The communication was excellent, we chose to have vegan seated meal and hired one chef and two staff to serve us (we had a small wedding). They were extremely professional, kind and adjusted to last minute timeline changes due to rain and most importantly the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Most of our guests were not vegetarian and everyone said they really enjoyed their meal and didn't even miss meat in it! I also have to thank Jessica for being so helpful during the planning process. I can highly recommend this company.
